Question about Walgreens Almay
I know there is a forum for the Almay this week, But I decided to post this question here in hopes of a quick response.
For the $5 Register Rewards with Almay at Walgreens-- Can the RR be used on the next Almay purchase and get another $5?
For example, I purchase Almay eyeshadow and get my $5. I then get back in line and purchase Almay lipliner and use the $5RR. Will I get another $5 RR?
I remember the manager of Walgreens told me once that you cannot use RR from Proctor and Gamble if you want a new RR from the proctor and gamble item you are purchasing.
Sorry if this is confusing, I hope my questions makes sense.

The system will not allow you to receive another rr if you use one on the initial purchase. However, hoping there is no line, most cashiers are happy to ring as an additional, seperate transaction. The Almay flew off the shelves (mostly $ .35 - $1.75,) and still kicked out a $5 RR.
I had trouble using the Almay coupon from Walgreens. The cashier said I could only use it on a full price item, not a sale item. I told her the coupon did not state that and asked her to call a manager. The coupon kept beeping, but the manager told her to push the coupon through. She was NOT happy the manager sided with me. I never understand why the cashiers get so mad. It's not like I was taking money from her!
Has anyone else had problems?
I was to one store where the cashier told me I could not use the Wags Almay Q because it stated that it could not be used with another offer and Almay was on sale. However, at another store, the manager actually rang up my purchase and adjusted the price of the Almay when the Q beeped. He also complimented my shopping prowess. (If he only knew, right?!). Try another store or go at a different time when there is a different cashier working. Unfortunately, not all cashiers are created equal. =)
I found one Wags (Libertyville 21 and Peterson) that it is actually ringing up correct without the cashiers needing to do anything. It actually reduces the price of the product by $2. so you don't see it as a "coupon" persay. I am sticking with that location to avoid the hassle. I had 2 others push it through but it was a hassle to call the manager.
Also found the tena there for clearance price of $6.75 and it triggered the rewards. Sweet money maker and good for the food pantry :-)

Also, sent my husband to Target and the entire store was out of Swiffers! LOL The manager said "I dont know what's up with these things, but theyre popular lately."

One more thing-- I was talking to a Target employee last week about the frozen food sale that took place a few weeks ago. (buy 7 frozen items, get $5 gift card). He told me there was a glitch in their computer system and the register prompted a gift card at 4 frozen items. He said he discovered it by accident and tried it 3 more times, it worked every time. He said all the employees were doing it too, hoping the regular customers wouldn't figure it out. Haha. They must have gotten some great deals!
the register 'locks' up and prompts them to give a gc...it would do the same thing with a customer. I was watching every time I was there, and the cashier could not scan another item after the gc prompt.
Honestly, I dont know. This was at the Super Target in Streamwood. However, when I checked out I do remember the cash register would allow the clerk to continue scanning items after the gift card prompt showed up. Each item beeped as it was scanned, but it did not diaplay on the screen until the gift card was acknowledged. So maybe thats how it allowed the card after 4 items were purchased? I am still new to this so I wish I knew more about how the machines process the info. I dont see why the employee would lie about it, he was so excited when he saw me. He ran up to tell me about it. He said he was looking for me once he discovered the glitch, but didnt see me again until last week. (During the frozen food sale, he and I had a 10 minute conversation).
something that only happened with their register(s). I did that deal at at least 4 different Targets and they definitely could not continue to scan after the GC prompt came up. (If it did come up at 4 then it would not come up again at 7 either since that is only 3 more - which would have caused a lot of complaints!). I always watch the screen carefully when they are scanning my items (for prices) as well as coupons (to make sure the right amount comes off) - and likely many couponers do the same, so if this was happening some couponer would have noticed it and posted it somewhere. Just saying...
Yes, I love how target works with their gift card system. I did one transaction with 35 frozen food items and it generated 5 cards at each of the 7 mark, stopping the cashier. I messed up on other times and had one or two short but just had them scan something additional to hit the mark, better than losing the $5 card with my Qs that was a spectacular deal. Just wish I had the freezer at that point! :-) The veggie bags go quick in my house!
I can't even fathom if it was triggered at 4! :-) yikes their freezers would have been emptied! I hope they do that one again!
my mom has been telling me that also, she says you can never have too many veggies! i also bought alot of the frozen juice concentrates.....I'm surprised jewel didn't do a C.H.I.L.L. Frozen Foods Catalina this year
I try and write what product I got on the catalina ,This helps me not to use it again on the same product or Company . I try to use what I can so I don't spend alot OOP . It takes alittle more thought then just handing them over at Jewel like we do LOL
At Walgreens, you cannot roll your RRs to another purchase of a product by the same manufacturer.
I also found out that the RR must be for a greater amount than the pre-tax total. I had a $10 RR for a $10.14 bill and could not use it because the RR doesn't pay for taxes.
that is correct, I too learned that the hard way!!
I need more detail regarding your transaction, but yes you can, you are only limited at times by number of items and $ amount of transaction.
