CVS has some great deals on haircolor this week, especially on Clairol Nice & Easy, Natural Instincts, and Root Touch Up. If (like me!) you’re stocking up on old-formula boxes of these before they disappear from the shelves, here is a nice deal you can put together:
- Scan your CVS card at the Coupon Center in store for a $10-off-$40 “Big Hair Deals” store coupon
- Clairol haircolors are $7.49 each or 2-for-$14 this week. Buy six ($42)
- Present the Big Hair Deals coupon at the register (now $32)
- Use three Buy One Get One FREE coupons from the 3/24 SS insert or printables (now $11)
- Pay $11 for SIX boxes, or about $1.83 each!
CVS’ “Magic Coupon Machine” will also automatically print a coupon for a FREE box of haircolor after you buy seven boxes. This deal will put you six boxes closer to that mark.
Coupon Maven says
Back from CVS (yes, I am still chasing down my brown old-box haircolors like a fiend!)
IF you try this deal, beware of this: These new coupons (I used three insert coupons) are NOT scanning automatically on the old, brown/orange boxes of Natural Instincts. The coupon does not appear to be coded to work with them at all, even though it shows both styles of boxes in the photo.
It completely screwed up the deal, because my awesome CVS manager offered to simply ring in the free boxes at .01 each instead of using the coupons.
Then, the register kicked out the $10-off-$40 store coupon, because without all six boxes ringing through at $7 each, the register (correctly) noted that $40 hadn’t been spent on haircolor.
We got a new, GREEN box of haircolor, which scanned fine with these new coupons. He scanned it six times and let me take the same shade in the old boxes. Then the deal worked, but if you’re buying the old kind, be aware of this & watch the register closely.
