I’ve been receiving a bunch of email this morning from disappointed couponers saying that their local Dollar Tree stores are no longer selling the Chicago Tribune for $1 on Saturdays. While I haven’t been to my local store myself, a phonecall to the store confirms this. The Tribune has raised the price of the paper, and it seems that Dollar Tree will no longer be selling it.
My husband ran to Menards this morning and picked up a paper for me, and as you can see on his receipt above, the early-edition Chicago Tribune now costs $1.50 at Menards. (Heads-up to Jewel-Osco shoppers too — we have a bunch of coupons for organic meats too in the 8/6 RP1 today!)
It is cheaper to subscribe to Chicago Tribune home delivery, as the Sunday Tribune costs .75 per week. I’m sharing the discount codes below for home subscriptions. You will have to call to get this rate, as it’s a special one for my readers.

You can order up to two additional Sunday papers with specially-tiered pricing to maximize your couponing power, and it’s even cheaper than buying your papers at the dollar store. (Plus, you don’t have to go to the store.)
