  13. It may be a step to curb water contaminents in our rivers, lakes and streams but how about the contaniments that are left behind on my dishes, glasses and dishwasher’s interior? No thanks to the bacteria and residue! Yes please, for the non-phosphate free for me!

    Read an article that you about adding trisodium phosphate from the hardware store to your own mix. If I don’t win the freebie, I may just have to give it that a try!

Where I live the water is so hard, when we had our water tested, most companies didn’t carry softeners made to treat it. So even with our softener, our water doesn’t feel like it does when we go to frends’ homes and you get that feeling you won’t get the soap off of your hands.

  76. I live in the LITH area and have problems with this exact issue. I actually gave up using my dishwasher recently because I had to rewash about 70% of my dishes that were “washed” in the dishwasher. I would love to try this product.

    I ordered a bag of this stuff after reading your article. We use about 1/2 a scoop with our regular detergent and it works great. Our dishes come out clean and sparkly every time!…we’re still on our first bag. I’d say it’s worth the money spent.

  126. Jill- I have been adding powered phosphate (from Home Depot paint cleaning area :) to my finish dishwashing detergent for a few months to try to get around this.. It’s working better, but still not up to the “clean dish standards” of last year. This is so sad, and I would LOVE to try this brand to see if it really works as good as the company says.

  138. Before reading your blog I had seen an ad for Bubble Bandit and the fact that phosphates had been removed from residential cleaners. It seemed like a reasonable explanation as to why my dishwasher wasn’t cleaning anything anymore. But I doubted the validity since it was a mail-order only product.   166. Ok Jill this is the BEST give away yet. My Bausch dishwasher is the worst. Everyone talked me into the “Very Best” yet my Kenmore that was 25 yrs old worked so much better. I need to try this product to see if my dishes and especially glassware will come clean without me scrubbing them!!
