There are a few weeks left before the kids go back to school, so why not spend a day at Raging Waves Water Park in Yorkville, Illinois? It’s got lots of water-themed attractions, water slides and fun for the entire family.

Raging Waves has many water flumes and tube slides, a large wave pool, several kids’ splash-and-play areas, and a fun land-based attraction too…

I do like slides where you don’t have to carry the tubes up! Some of the smaller tube slides do require you to carry a tube, but this family-style tube ride delivers your tube to the top for you.

The park’s large wave pool is called The Great Barrier Reef. As you can see, this guy was a big fan — he loves wave pools!

We went on a cloudy day, and we were rewarded with shorter lines and more room in the wave pool to play. (I always like taking advantage of a cloudy day for less crowded theme parks days..!) 

Shark Bite Cafe

You cannot take a cooler into Raging Waves, but there are several food stands around the park to dine at, like this one. 

Pedal tractors

My son also enjoyed the Outback Road Rally pedal tractors! These go-kart sized tractors operate solely on pedal power through a road course that winds under the Raging Waves waterslides. These are included in the price of admission too, and yes — adults can also drive!
