Just a reminder if you use Jewel-Osco’s MyMixx ecoupons: They still have some issues, and they don’t always ring correctly at the register.
Two problems still exist with MyMixx: Instant-savings deals in store prevent MyMixx ecoupons being applied to your purchases, and ecoupons for two items do not apply to two items purchased during a Buy One Get One Free sale.
The first issue has been around since MyMixx launched in early 2015. When you have a MyMixx ecoupon loaded for an item that’s featured as an instant-savings deal in the ad, something strange happens. For example, MyMixx has a $1-off-3 2-liter coupon that pairs nicely with the “Buy 4 and they’re .79 each” sale that’s currently running. You would think that you could buy four for $3.16, save an additional $1.00 with the MyMixx 2-liter coupon, then pay $2.16 for four bottles, or .54 each.
That’s how the ecoupons should work, but here’s what actually happens. These 2-liters are $1.89 each before the “Buy 4” instant savings is applied. Jewel’s registers (and receipts!) show all four bottles scanning at $1.89, regular price. MyMixx then applies the $1-off-3 ecoupon. Finally, the register reduces each bottle to the instant-savings price of .79 each. Shoppers will pay $3.16, the same price you would pay without using the ecoupon at all.
If a shopper presents a paper version of the $1-off-3 coupon (which was recently available as a printable too) the coupon will ring correctly on the post-instant-savings price.
Several area bloggers and I had brought this to Jewel’s attention back in March when we first experienced the issue. One of my readers had the same thing happen today with this 2-liter sale, effectively losing the $1.00 MyMixx discount. What’s frustrating is that these offers are going to show as redeemed on the manufacturer’s end — they’re provided to Jewel by Coupons.com, and the coupon will look like it was successfully applied to this purchase, even though it was not.
The second issue occurs during Buy One Get One Free sales. Jewel’s coupon policy allows you to use a coupon on each item, or a $1.00-off-2 coupon on both items you’re buying in a Buy One Get One Free sale. However, a $1.00-off-2 MyMixx ecoupon will not automatically apply itself when you buy two items during a B1G1F sale.
I had this issue myself yesterday — we wanted to get some ice cream, and MyMixx has a $1.00-off-2 Edy’s ecoupon. Jewel has cartons of Edy’s on sale for $5.29, B1G1F. I loaded the ecoupon thinking that $4.29 for two was a pretty good price, but guess what happened — nothing. The ecoupon did not come off.
Again, Jewel-Osco’s coupon policy allows a $1-off-2 coupon to be applied to both items in a B1G1F sale, but MyMixx actually requires four items to be purchased during a Buy One Get One Free sale in order for its $1.00-off-2 ecoupon to be applied.
(Jewel’s registers still have a similar issue with paper coupons during B1G1F sales, but at least with a paper coupon, the register will beep and the cashier can adjust it to apply to both items.)
When I go into my MyMixx account, the Edy’s coupon is still showing as unredeemed, even though I bought two.
If either of these issues happen to you, definitely go to the customer service counter to straighten things out. Earlier this year, a representative from Jewel said they were working on a solution to these issues. It may be time to check in with Jewel on this again…

Thank you for your persistance with these issues. Unless its a free item, I tend to steer away from Jewel’s e-coupons because of the problems. Maybe once they get everything fixed I will take advantage of some deals, but in the meantime I avoid it as it can’t be trusted.

You’re welcome. They continue to frustrate me too — they’ve known about the issue with the instant savings + MyMixx for about nine months now, and it still comes up whenever there is an instant savings sale that overlaps with MyMixx ecoupon. We’ll see what happens…

The Jewel cashiers STILL allow you enough time to enter you phone number.
The is a big RED ALERT in my book! LOL!!!
MyMixx isn’t the only e-coupons plagued with issues.
Walgreens is just as bad.
You need to see which e-coupons you have clipped before you go shopping.
The programming sometimes applies the lower value coupon if 2 e-coupons can be applied to your purchase.
