I can’t believe 2008 has almost come to a close. This year has brought so many things… my baby turned 1, my big boy turned 4, and my daughter is officially going to be (gasp!) a teenager in a couple of weeks. But the biggest change of all has been my line of work, which I think you all know. :) If someone had predicted I’d become the “Coupon Queen of Chicago” earlier this year, I would have giggled in disbelief… but I’m not laughing anymore. :) In fact, I’ll proudly take that title.
How did I get here? In June, 2008, the Chicago Sun-Times asked readers for tips on saving on groceries. I sent them a short email on what I do (keep in mind, I was NOT teaching classes at this point, nor did this blog exist. I was just a stay-at-home mom of 3 saving money…!) The Sun-Times found me so interesting that they continued to write about me in six more articles over the course of the next few months. The media’s attention to coupon use increased with the economy’s decline. I proposed what became my first Super-Couponing class to my local library, and after the success of that first class, the demand for Super-Couponing went through the roof.
And I found myself with a new job! I taught 25 Super-Couponing classes this year to over 2400 people. I have over 60 classes scheduled for 2009, and the bookings just keep coming. And I have a nationally-syndicated newspaper column which will also allow Super-Couponing to spread beyond Chicagoland in the year to come!
To say I’m astounded by all of this would be an understatement. To everyone who has attended a class, listened to me on the radio, or read this blog on a regular basis… THANK YOU. You’re the reason I’m able to continue bringing Super-Couponing to so many people… and I know how much saving money means to everyone, because it means a lot to me too.
Here’s to a fantastic 2009!

Jill,
In just the few months I’ve been following your method, I’ve saved a few hundred. What a great year to have learned this, when we all are trying to save money. So thank you, thank you! And Happy New Year!!
