UPDATE: WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
Congratulations to blog readers MrsGriffler, K12schoolteacher, Soapboxtray, Hspiggy79, Bluedemon20, and Wildheart6, winners of $25 Dominick’s gift cards! Thank you to everyone who entered!
Hey, Super-Couponers… ready for another great giveaway? This one’s courtesy of Dominick’s new electronic discount program Just For U! I’ve got SIX $25 Dominick’s gift cards to give away to six lucky readers!
So how do you enter? Simply reply to this post with a note about your thoughts on or experiences with Just For U. Dominick’s is looking for your honest feedback on this new program, which provides customized electronic discounts on products that correspond to your purchase history in their stores. Just For U is designed to show you better prices on things you’ve purchased in the past, and it compares your prices with current selling prices for the same or similar items at competitors’ stores.
This contest begins today, October 3, and runs for one week. The contest will end on October 9th at 11:59pm, and on October 10th, six winners will be chosen via a random number generator. Each winner will receive one $25 Dominick’s gift card!
To activate and view your Just For U discounts, log in at Dominicks.com and select offers, which are loaded to your Fresh Values card. These discounts are good for the next 90 days, and you can use these customized offers over and over. As a bonus, everyone signing up for Just For U will also receive an electronic coupon for a FREE dozen of Lucerne eggs.
I’ll kick things off with my own Just For U experience. I decided to try out Just For U by buying M&Ms and Fresh Express bagged salads, both of which I also had manufacturer coupons for. The M&Ms were a surprise for my kids — no one’s got them on a good sale at the moment, but my Just For U showed my personal discount on the large bags as $2.57. While this is still not the kind of super-low-low that gets a coupon shopper’s radar up, when combined with coupons, it became much better. I used a $1-off-2 tearpad on the first two bags, and the “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” coupon from 5/2 RP on the third — ultimately paying $4.14 for 3, or $1.38 a bag.
As for the Fresh Express, it’s $1.48 on my personal discounts. I like to buy these when they’re priced at .99, but in the absence of any other deal, this isn’t a bad price. And, with a $1 manufacturer coupon from an older Jewel coupon book, I paid .48!
So, what are you waiting for? Post your thoughts about or experiences with Just For U, and you’ll automatically be entered in this great giveaway!
Legalese: This Dominick’s $25 gift card promotion is sponsored by Dominick’s Just For U. Responding to this post with a note containing opinions about or experiences with Dominick’s Just For U program qualifies readers to enter the contest. The contest began at midnight on October 3, 2010 and will end at 11:59pm on October 9, 2010. Six winners will be chosen via random-number generator on October 10, 2010 and announced the same day. Each winner will receive ONE (1) $25 Dominick’s gift card. I was provided with eight $25 Dominick’s gift cards for this giveaway and was given the option to keep as many as I’d like and give the rest away. I have accepted two cards in exchange for posting this giveaway and am giving the remaining six cards away to my readers. (The two cards I personally accepted were also given away to volunteers of two local food pantries, Interfaith Food Pantry of Algonquin/Lake in the Hills and FISH Food Pantry of Carpentersville.) Good luck to everyone!

I usually do not shop Dominick’s and went back to see what the hupla was about with the just for U program I loaded my free eggs for signing up and the item did not come off, the CS desk was not able to help and seemed clueless with the program, Get your act together Dominick’s!

I haven’t used Just For U yet. There seems to be a lot of coupons, but nothing that has been outstanding yet.

I just went to Dominicks.com and it says this:
Web site is down
We are sorry for the inconvenience, but our site is currently down for maintenance from 9 PM until 7 AM (PDT).

Seems like typical Dominicks to me. Sorry Just for U.

I liked the free eggs and I love that you can load the supercoupons – no more cutting out those annoying little coupons in the ad! I like that you can load several coupons all from one place.
I’m not that excited about the personalized deals yet. None of the prices on the personalized deals have been low enough to make me rush in and buy something. Only time will tell if this portion is something I will use often or not.
Thanks for the contest!
Kluskclark3 says
I like it pretty good. I liked the free eggs. I LOVE the fact that you can load the super coupons onto your card. My personalized deals aren’t all that hot, but I do like that they compare the price to Wal-Mart. I can check it before I go shopping and compare prices. The only drawback is that when the receipt prints up, it’s a little confusing.. perhaps it’s reader misunderstanding tho :)
yamagirrl says
So far, it hasn’t been to difficult to load coupons. I wish that Dominicks can add a “add all or select all” button to make it easier to load coupons. I would also like them to be able to email my list of all coupons loaded to make shopping easier.
Today I went to the grand opening of my new Dominicks store and a small bottle of Tide was $4.99 and my $1/1 came off easily. I like the new system so far, but I’m sure I’ll run into problems later.
prea says
I like that some of my personalized offers are available until next month. Gives me plenty of time to watch for a sale and coupons! I also like that they are not all for Dominicks house brands, unlike my Jewel Avenu offers of late. Right now I have $2 off per pound for sirloin steaks. Since these are frequently on sale it’s going to be stock up time in my freezer. :-)
pwill69 says
Seems like they have taken shopping to a new complexity level. Personalized shopping prices on at least 50+ products? And most of mine are perhaps .10 less than Walmart. Not worth it for me to travel to Doms for .10 when Walmart is closer to my house.
Why not just present yourself with right shelf prices to all customers instead of personalized shopping prices? I’ll shop your sale ad instead of worrying about if I have a personalized shopping price on some particular item. I have more than enough grocery stores in my area that I can almost be guaranteed of finding good sale prices on produce using the 5 sales ads in my area of which I just price compete them at Walmart for a one and done produce shopping experience.
I do like the ecoupon side of things but it’s really not that much different than when I was just using cellfire and shortcuts. Free eggs were a nice bonus. Still waiting for the $5 credit that those of us who signed up early were supposed to get.
Overall, I’d give this program a big “whatever” and “nothing special”.
savinmoolah says
for the most part. I like the personalized coupons Dominick’s issues that I can load right to my card. I don’t like how I have yet another thing to do to receive the discount. More jumping in hoops. But, I do have to say, over the last 2 months, I have been shopping at Dominick’s a lot more. They seem to be having better deals than Jewel and everyone in the stores I go to are GREAT and very helpful. It makes shopping at Dominick’s pleasant!
tripletts07 says
I signed up immediately when it was offered. First time, eggs did not come off. Second time, eggs came off but did not receive the $5 credit that was promised. Since that time, the super ecoupons come off some times and other times not. So…. I am still cutting out the paper ones in the paper just to cover my butt but apparently I am told that I do not need to cut them. So what am I missing? Am I the only one experiencing these problems?
wal43 says
says not up in my area when i know it is…found out everything i added in end wasn’t on it with a box that popped up saying come back in 2 days…deals end by then….

It is always a mystery what the price of an item is going to be. Zip Lock sandwich bags were to be 2/$4 and they rang up $1.67. Glade candles were suppose to be 2/$5 and rang up $2.50 and $2.49. The $2.49 blew the Catalina deal. I even went back and checked the UPCs on that one and CS could not explain why that happened!
domesticdee1 says
I like it but want to find out how to take e-coupons off my card that I had loaded before since you can’t stack them with manufacture coupons anymore.
nicoleseibt says
Not having been to your class yet, I thought I would try my hand at this yesterday. The night before I went to the Dominicks site, loaded up my card, brought my own coupons and cats and saved more than I had ever saved before. I was also really enticed by the free eggs (when it’s cold, I bake…needless to say I’ve been baking a lot this weekend). With all the pluses and minuses with Dominicks, this kind of incentive (eggs, gift cards) really helps them out with shoppers.
Marija says
I went yesterday, between the super coupons and manufacturing coupons I ended up with 2 free eggs, plus another $1.50 off,no discount on the Tyson chicken. Fortunately it worked out in my favor. Make sure you check your receipts before leaving.

So far, I would say I am not excited about the Just for U program. If I didn’t love my Oswego Dominick’s I’d probably give up on the program. Here is what happened to me. I signed up for the program early, finding it when I went to their website for something else, at that time I got a message saying that the personalized savings were not in my area. I didn’t think much of it at that point since it was all new to me and there was no talk of the program on the couponing websites that I frequent. Well, then all the talk started about the free eggs on your personalized savings, so I went back onto my account and I got the same message, that the program is not in my area yet. Hmmm. Not from what everyone else was saying. So, I emailed customer service. It took themthree days to respond to me. When they did respond, they said they had fixed the problem and that I should now be able to use the personalized savings. Well, guess what. No. No, I still received the very same message. So, I decided to call customer service this time. I explained my problm to a very nice rep, and he informed me that I would need to change the email address that I have linked to my Dominick’s card. I didn’t really want to do that, but, since I do have another address I could use, I changed addresses. Lo and behold, it worked right away. I now had access to the personalized savings. The next day, I went in to Dominick’s and did receive discounts for items on my personalized savings. I however, did not see the $5 credit everyone who signed up early and had problems with their savings was supposed to receive. I once again called customer service. The girl I talked to had no idea what I was talking about. I gave her the link to Jill’s thread about the $5 credit. She put me on hold for what felt like a day and a half. Eventually, she came back and told me that I did not qualify because the credit was only for people who had loaded savings to their cards but the savings did not come off in the store. I did not qualify because I was unable to access the personalized savings. Duh, I couldn’t even get in to the system. I’m pretty sure that was a problem. I told her I did not agree with the fact that I didn’t get the credit. At that point, I had little fight in me and even less time to fight (seeing as I had been on hold forever ). I just don’t get it. It seems like Dominick’s is putting tons of resources in to this new program and they want it to be successful. However, a loyal customer who has problems accessing the program doesn’t qualify?! Ugh! Sounds like the typical corporate Dominick’s. If I did not love the management and employee’s at the Oswego Dominick’s store, I would probably give up on Dominick’s.
couponloving says
I also have not been impressed with my personalized offers. I haven’t bought anything on the list so I don’t know if it will work or not. However, my mom doesn’t have a email address so I had to sign her up on mine. Also, I would like a “select all” button because it is very tedious to have to add each selection individually.

I usually shop at Jewel, but with all the changes they have been making, I decided to give Doms another try. They are about a 20 minute drive for me, compared to my 5 minute drive for Jewel, and I really do not see what all the fuss is about. They were out of a lot of items I needed and use on a daily basis and I really didn’t think the Just for U deals were that amazing. I am sure that every once in a while there might be something great, but not really worth the trip for me.
JENNILARA says
Haven’t tried it yet, can’t wait, want the gift card. =)
Swale2010 says
I never used to shop a Dominick’s. I was a tried and true Aldi shopper. Since I started to shop with coupons I found myself at Dominick’s more and more. Before they started up Just for U I had nothing but problems. Customer service at the store was horrible, cashiers, made me feel like I was stealing, when they clearly did not know their stores coupon policy. Most of the time I would scan my own grocery because I would not want to hold up any lines because I knew I was going to have problems. I have never given any of the cashier’s a hard time and I pride myself in the fact that I am using coupons in a legit way. Well anyway, after all the problems, I found myself going to Jewel more often. Great customer service at my Jewel. When Dominick’s started up the Just for U program I decided to give them another try. They got me in the store for the free eggs. I will not load any e-coupons but I do load the super coupons and my personalized savings and customer service has really improved. So far, so good, but I will be keeping tabs on how they treat me as a customer.

I signed up, but have not used the program yet. I love that I am getting free eggs. Props to Dominicks for trying a new program!

I haven’t had too much experience with this new program yet, but I do like the fact that I can load the super coupons, saves a little time, hoping to win :)

Though I was never a Dominick’s shopper in the past, couponing has made Dom’s a weekly stop for me now! The Just for U offers are pretty good, especially after I add a few coupons to sweeten the deals. My favorite deals so far are the granola bars… My hubby eats them like crazy and so even at $1.90 a box (Quaker Chewy), it’s the cheapest price around. So glad Dom’s is paying attention to what we buy and trying to offer us deals on those items… it will definitely keep me coming back!
stacy12398 says
Hopefully this is the first of many good changes for Dominick’s. Good start.

Registration was not user friendly. Went for my free eggs and stood around for 20 minutes waiting for it to hit my card, it never did.

So far! I’m impressed with the Just 4 U program! I prefer Dominicks and don’t mind the 20 minute drive to the nearest Doms.
Cheapolak says
The online coupon loading went smoothly and I did receive my “personalized” discounts. However, when trying to keep track of what discounts came off while the cashier was scanning my purchases (I always watch the screen when I’m expecting eQ’s or card discount prices… which is pretty much always), my “just for U” prices didn’t show up– for example, I was supposed to get bananas for .44/lb but on the screen they showed up as .79/lb. The discounts did come off at the end and printed on my receipt, but as a conscientious couponer trying to prevent problems as I go along, it was a little frustrating to not see the “personalized” amounts until after I had paid.
Also, there was a buy-20-Yoplait-get-a-$2-cat promotion that didn’t produce my cat, and I’m wondering if my “just for U” discount on Yoplait interfered with that. (Big thanks to the great customer service folks at the Fullerton/Clybourn store, for taking care of it for me!) All’s well that ends well, but if they could tweak the system so the discounts show up as you go along and don’t affect other promotions, it would be nice.
Thanks!
Bernard2003 says
I have mixed feeling about this program – perhaps because it comes on the heels of so many OTHER changes where couponing at Dominick’s is concerned. I could still do quite a bit of damage with a $25 gift card tho. The free eggs DID work for me and I might do the frigo cheeseheads (since the would be free with mail in rebate and coupons while on sale).
I think I mentioned elsewhere on the site that IF the just for you discounts would stack with with sales going on week to week, that might make it more worth my time. Unfortunately, I don’t think that is how it works (even though a few lucky folks have reported that happening)
for now, I will make sure I still keep a hold of those expired coupons just in case I CAN still manage to get some stuff free or inexpensively there. (That’s tougher to do when they don’t accept a BOGO and a $x/one item coupon together. Bummer)
dealhunter says
I did signed up for the program but have not been to Dominicks yet to try it out. I do think it will be a nice program though. It will hopefully cut down on the amount of coupons I carry in my purse everyday. :)
kan1971 says
I have always loved shopping at Dominick’s. I like that the employees ask if they can help me locate something in the store. I like that the cashiers and baggers ask if I need help to my car ( even if I only bought a gallon of milk). I like that the store managers are visible and available when you need them. However, as a single income family we have not been able to afford shopping at Dominick’s. Before coupons and Just for U, I would walk in Dominick’s buy just one or 2 items then drive to the further away Jewel to finish the rest of my grocery shopping. Often I would still feel like i spent too much at Dominick’s on just the one or two sale items I bought. Now with Just for U and coupons I can afford to spend more money at Dominick’s and come home with more items. I can bring home my groceries and feel like I bought GROCERIES, not just one two items that I felt like I overpaid for.
regis says
Haven’t signed up yet, but the Dominick’s in my area just re-opened and haven’t been in yet. Hope to check it out soon.
swissnic2000 says
Now that I tried the just for U I came back to shop at Dominicks. So I am working with it only for a short time, it seems to work for me. hope I win.
kimberlee19 says
Now with the Just for U, I am a shopper. I was having a lot of problems with the card working, so I am anxious to get those deals. Can’t wait for my first visit there!
Dione70 says
I am still unable to log in to sign up for this through Dominick’s. I cant get signed up for the Cellfire either. I have tried calling numerous times to Dominicks to get it straightened out. Some how my Dominick’s card number was linked to someone elses name. So I had to get a new card/new number. That card was somehow linked to whoever had my phone number before I did. Each time I’d try to log in I’d get an error. Now I have signed up for my third card and I’m still having issues with that. “Must I change my name or something to get a card that will work?” Is what I asked the customer Service man on the phone. He promised me the new one I get will work. We will see. So I need this $25 card to offset all the deals that I have missed out on. Thanks Jill you are doing a great job on this site!
Kathy D says
I really like the new program. I was just at Dominicks yesterday, the first time in a long time, and was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately some of the items I went to get were already picked through and were not available, ie Pillsbury frozen breakfasts. The worker told me to get a raincheck.
slu912 says
I signed up when Jill first mentioned it on her website. Picked up my free dozen eggs this past week. Looking forward to other great savings.
ojoday says
I’ve always preferred Jewel, but lately I’ve been getting tired of Jewel’s “buy one, get one” sales – the prices are not in the paper, and after you do the math in the aisle at the store, it turns out to not be much of a deal at all (if any!). Dominick’s prices have been getting better lately, and (up till now) have had a better coupon policy. The extreme values they run certainly bring me in!
harleygirl says
I went on their website this morning and it was down so I could not review my offers before going but went anyway and what a mess they have on thier hands. Computers down, they had to over ride most of my coupons, did not get a CAT.
I do have to say the employees at the Bloomingdale location are very nice expect for a manager behind the service desk, its takes her a bit before she looks up and addresses you.
tobyy123 says
The free eggs were nice, but otherwise I am not a big fan. My personalized offers are not really that great as far as the prices.
vugurl07 says
I got my free eggs today and was able to get the personalize price on bananas about a week ago. I also like that the super coupons can be added to my card. I don’t always get the weekly ad (Dominicks is 20 mins from my house) so it’s nice to know I can get the deals even if my store is out of ads. I am looking forward to what else will show up.
Also, major thanks to EVERYONE at the store in Matteson. Everyone is always very willing to help. I had stopped shopping there for a while since it was out of my way and now find it’s worth the drive because of the amazing service and great deals I get.
lovecoupons4 says
and the coupons I’ve been offered have been good so far. . . especially for some perishable items that I can’t buy too much of ahead of time! I also like that I can see the sales on the items that I usually buy. I’ve only purchased a couple items so far that are on my J4U list and so far, no problems!
:)
noconnor says
Honestly, the free eggs and cheap bananas were nice, but other than that, none of the other items will get me in the store for the small difference in price to Walmart or Target.
It’s a new program so I’ll give it time.
sanzes says
I am hoping as time passes this new program will run smoothly. Experienced a bump in the road as I was unable to log onto it. When I was finally successful in registering for the program, I shopped twice at Dominick’s. On both occasions, each clerk had a different explanation on what coupons I could use or not use!
meralee2 says
I’m a newbie to coupon using and so I wanted to try out with just one store and get the hang of it. Then I saw the deals I could get at Dominicks and not at my local store. So I drove the 20+ mins to the nearest Dominicks and I saved 68% on my first try! Then I signed up for ‘Just for U’ and am very excited to try it. If I can save more at Dominicks over my local store, then I don’t mind the drive. However, I’ve already noticed that my ‘personalized deals’ half of them don’t give me a better deal. So only time will tell. In the end, I’ll be shopping for the things I need at the store that gives the BEST price – regardless if I have to clip or not. :)
HLaw97 says
won’t make me “run out” to DOMS for a special trip, but is a nice incentive if I am in the area.

I haven’t used any of the deals yet, I just signed up. I hope it works smoothly when I go shopping tomorrow. I loaded the super coupons and some other personalized deals that didn’t seem to bad. As the program continues I hope to see some better deals.

The new program at Dominicks is awesome it definitely makes it easier for us to load
coupons instead of having to cut them out. Plus, they are running good deals this week on
lots of items!

i actually can’t/ have trouble accessing it online but i am signed up for it and if i could access my account i would most likely use it!
quepongram says
The program seems great. However, if the price difference between Dom’s and WM is pennies, then wouldn’t we be better off going to WM and using manufacturer coupons? Of course, first I would check out prices at other stores, as I too have found Jewell and others less expensive when supercouponing.
I do prefer the ecouponing since it is quicker and must save a LOT of trees!
Dinahmite says
Nice idea, being paperless/clipless.
I signed up for it so we’ll see what happens when I shop this week.
I do wish they had an option to pick all coupons to load into my card. This way, if I ended up buying something that was “not on my list” but an instore sale, then it’s already loaded onto my card with no worries of thumbing through paper coupons, nice!
Looking forward to getting my free eggs too:)
mbalas says
I tried my first personalized deal and was happy to receive the Oscar Mayer bacon which was BOGO free at 7.49(?) but it came up as 3.88 for me! Not bad price for two packages without paper coupons which I didn’t have since I previouisly used them up. I have bacon lovers in my family.
Haven’t tried any yet with electronic q’s (both Dom or others) so the jury is still out.
u600780 says
I am excited to experience more benefits from the program. It seems like a good idea, but we will see how it pans out. DOMs definitely needs to “gain some speed” against the competition, hopefully (for them) this helps. I enjoyed the free eggs, but I am not sure how much better these discounts will make their pricing?? …we wil see….
twinmom407 says
I like the Just for You program, but the super coupons never show up on my coupon page! It seems like they show up for most people, but not for all of us. I am looking in the right place, and they are just not there. I don’t mind clipping them from the ad, but sometimes I forget, and I would just like the same benefits as everyone else. Besides that, it has been great. Free eggs, cheap raspberries and an extra $5 to help me get started. It’s great, the kinks just need to be worked out.
agordon720 says
I’ve used it a few times and I like how you can now load the super coupons each week instead of having to clip them. I don’t feel like the personalized deals are that great.

I have a decent Dominicks, and I actually enjoy shopping there!

I don’t shop at Doms often enough to have any screaming good personalized deals yet. I am prepared to love it though. However there’s a little something weird how it makes shopping like a lottery, where everyone is paying different prices for the same things. It makes this coupon deal blogging more difficult for one. But we’ll see!
tjkinnear says
I liked the free eggs! I hope it includes free products on occasion – I’ll be more apt to check it if I know free products are coming!

Just signed up today. Have not been to a Dominick’s store for years. Thinking maybe it will be worth the drive to shop at one again. It took me about a week of logging into the Just For U page, before I was able to view my personalized deals. For the first week, it just said that there were no deals in my area. Now that I can finally see my personalized deals, I will be testing them out at Dominick’s this week.

I don’t live close to a Dominicks but stop at one on the way home from work. Usually because they have some produce on sale and I think they have good quality fruits & vegetables. I was pleased with my personal coupons, because salad was offered, as well as the frozen lunches my husband takes to work. I also received by free eggs. Actually I don’t buy that much at Dominicks because I have a number of other grocery stores right by my house, but have had no problems when I go there, usually the one on Rt. 83 by St. Charles Rd.
momoffour22 says
I think this could be a great program ~ I’ve always had trouble getting great deals at Dominicks largely because e-coupons come up for me only sometimes. However, this program simplifies things and their new coupons policy is much more clear as well. I also am excited to use my $5.00 & free eggs because of the kinks they hadn’t worked out the first couple of times I visited Dominicks after this program started. Have to give them props for the extra kudos when things didn’t go as planned.

The first time I went to Dominicks to try and use this new program it did not work and I ended up going home with $1.79 eggs. I came home and called customer service who verified that the eggs were in my “list” and ended up spending over 30 minutes on the phone with a Just for U representative to “look over my account”. I was told that I would get the eggs next time and also that I would receive a $5 savings for my frustration.
The second time I went to Dominicks I ended up buying over $20 worth of products so that I could use the promised $5 off coupon, I did not receive the $5 off and I went home with a charge of $1.51 for my “free” eggs. Before leaving the store I went to go ask a “U” representative but the line was really long so again I ate the costs of the program not working.
The third time I went and bought a few items that were on my “personalized pricing” and “one time coupon” list. The items did not come off… I ended up spending 30 minutes with a representative in-store who was not aware at all about how to use the coupons, how to use the website, etc. I felt that I knew more about the program and spent the majority of the time trying to explain how it was supposed to work. At the end of 30 minutes of wasted time and the representative going through each and every one of my items on my list as well as listening to her try and tell me that e-coupons on other items caused me not to get my “U” item to work and that the “one time coupon” items on my list meant that it would print a coupon at the catalina machine I eventually gave up and again ate the cost of items that I wouldn’t have bought had I known they were going to be so expensive.
Overall it has just not worked for me and it has become more of a frustration than anticipted and not worth the time or money that it promises to save.
My two cents…

I had one glich (raspberry price didn’t come off) but CS cleared things up. Hopefully things will become more streamlined and won’t have to double check everything. Also, wish that Dominicks would clear up if manufacturer coupons can be used with e-coupons. Other than that things look good

that Dominick’s has gotten the kinks out of the Just For U program since so many on your site had had a good experience. Sadly,
My first two attempts to enjoy the savings were not a success. My free eggs (for signing up) did not come off and I didn’t receive the $5 bonus, though I signed up before all of the issues and should have. I have been told the problems with my card have been fixed, but I haven’t been back since to check it out. I will be shopping Doms tomorrow so my fingers are crossed!

I hope the new program is a great success!

I signed up about 2 weeks ago in the store. Last week I went to Dominick’s to exchange some beer. Actually I bought the Sam Adams that they had on sale for $9.99 and when I opened the case it had 3 bottles that were empty. I thought for sure that customer service wouldn’t believe me, but they did. So I thought I would try the discount program and see if I would work for my free eggs, it did not! Glad I had the print out with me, but I did hold up the line because the cashier had to walk to customer service to get an okay to over ride the price of the eggs.
I did notice that the cashiers do not ask other workers to check prices when they ring up wrong. I bought something from the bakery that did not ring up on sale, so the cashier left the register and walked back to check the price herself. It turns out that it was an old sign that they did not take down. She came back and said “good for you and bad for us, because now it’s free.
Someone mentioned something about a $5.00 bonus, what is that about?
Anyway thats my story. I would love to get a Dominick’s and give them another try.
Thank You
Hamptons Mom says
..but the very nice cashier informed me that I had to actually select the eggs not just sign up (even though the ad said sign up and get free eggs). Will try again this week – love any program that will save me money!
borntorun says
So far I have not had good luck. My eggs never came off which I returned before I left the store as the cashier didn’t seem to know what to do to fix it and also the $5.00 that dominicks called and told me would be added to my card also did not come off so until people start reporting better experiences with it I am done for now.
LoriLaas says
I’ve tried to enroll and it just tells me I’ve already done that yet I haven’t seen anything about the eggs or other coupons. Must be doing something wrong…I’ll figure it out soon!!
Lnjwand says
So far I guess I have been lucky. I did get my eggs free the other day and a few of the other items that I had loaded to my card.
I have just started going back to Dominick’s since I started following Jill about two months ago. My experiences have been 50/50 so far. Some good and some bad.
Stacking coupons was REALLY helpful before because I’m currently trying to feed my family of 4 and help out my parents who are unemployed and having a VERY difficult time right now.
I was able to get a few good deals but really wish they would still take other stores Catalinas for “Your next purchase” but oh well, what can you do.
sadiegirl says
I haven’t decided if I like the program yet. I did receive my free eggs which of course was great. Thank you. I purchased Silk Milk thinking that it was 1.99 through the program but I ended up paying at least $3.50. I’m a little wary still about the consistency of the deals automatically being applied.
tulonl says
Im registered, but I have not used it. But that is because I have not been a huge fan of Dominicks in the past. I have made several trips there over the last few months and about 50% of the time there is an issue. I think the concept is good, but agree that prices are not going to persuade me to go their more than jewel.
Brady731 says
I added the eggs to my account and the eggs didn’t come off, so I didn’t buy them. I came home and logged into my account and it still showed my eggs as added. So I went back and tried again a couple of days later. They didn’t come off again. This time I had a nice cashier that gave them to me free anyway. He told me that my card was tied to my husband’s card and that my husband is shown as the primary account holder. He said I would have to call a number and ask if I could merge our 2 Dominick’s cards together. But then he stated that I wouldn’t be able to get any of my own personalized deals. I would only be able to get my husband’s. I felt bad that I wouldn’t be able to get any of the deals that were showing on my account. The oreo cookie one looked good. I don’t know if the information I was given is even accurate. I was willing to try this program out, but it seems like too much trouble to get it to work for me. I haven’t decided if I’m going to bother calling to sort it all out.
suelebron says
Not loving it! Its too complicated. Also,it didn’t adjust the coupon off my Silk’s,even though I loaded it. When you have little ones with you, its hard to go over everything and make sure. ;o(

I had bad luck on my first attempt on using the Just For U super coupons. they didn’t come off and the cashier give me the price without the paper coupon. It would be nice to have an easy way to get credit for missed deals when the system is down. Since some stores are 24 hours, it would also be nice to have known down times posted in the store.
I want this Just for U system to work though. I want to be able to build a shopping list easily using their tools, so I hope the computer system becomes more consistent in applying the discounts.
pam and family says
the eggs worked just fine for me-but I am a little nervous that other deals won’t come off my total. I like to actually be able to see if they are coming off as they do, not wait until the end…that is nerve-wracking to me.
petersonsje says
Free eggs is fine but I am waiting to see just how user friendly this really is, and how the deals really stack up and if the personalized savings really are good savings for me.

I hope my favorite Oswego Dom’s cashier is reading this! :) I’m learning to like Dom’s, and I’ve had good luck with Just For U so far! Haven’t tried to get my free eggs yet, though!

I have had a rough time at Dominick’s, especially the one right by my house. I only go to other locations now when I am running errands nearby. With all the challenges I’ve had in the past, I was skeptical that it would work. However, my eggs worked without a hitch, so I’m planning on trying it again soon. I like the personalized special pricing on the items I buy regularly. Fingers crossed!

Hmmmm, jury’s still our on this just for you program. I got my free eggs, but haven’t been impressed by some of the other glitches in the system. I was finally able to add super coupons to my card after looking for them for the past couple weeks. They finally appeared. Also store employees weren’t that helpful in anwersing my questions when I was looking for things that were supposed to be on the just for you site. I am going to give it a bit more time, hopefully the glitches will have worked themselves out.

I’ve long been unhappy with the consistency and quality of service at Doms. Our local closed, and I am sad to see the empty store. Another store is only 10 minutes away. Just for U will bring me in – the question is, can it keep me? My time is precious. Value my business or you won’t get it. I hope I am pleasantly surprised and can tell everyone I know about the changes and improvements.

to get free eggs when it first was launched on the website. And then I cracked my card in half accidentally. So now I have to get a new card. Hopefully the free eggs will still be available then!

but I didn’t get my free eggs. They told me to call corporate. Once the kinks are worked out it will probably work for me too. I also didn’t like that I had to use a new email. I’ll call corporate on that too. I usually get better deals at Dominicks.
couponlvr2 says
I like the Just for U system better than the other coupon system they had. I sometimes had trouble with the Cellfire coupons not redeeming and couldn’t always log into the others to load coupons to my card. U seems much simpler and the Personalized deals are great (especially getting organic Cascadian Farm cereal for $2.58 instead of $4). So far Dom’s is better than Jewel for coupons for me.
danadenkinger says
I’m a newbie to the coupon shopping racket. When I started shopping at Dominicks again(stayed away in general because prices were to high)I found some of my best experinces so far with there stores. Additionally, I love techy gadgety sorts of things so this program is great from my little corner of the shopping world.
stilllisteningtoelmo says
I tried for the free eggs and didn’t get them either.
I’m excited that I don’t have to cut all those supercoupons out. I swear I always lose those little thin coupons. So I think this could be really great.
The personalized section says my deals are at the Dominicks I use most often. The have me down for Vernon Hills. I’m not sure if I ever have shopped there. There doesn’t seem to be a way to change it to the actual one I use.
momof3plus1 says
I have used the Just for U since it started. I like some of the personalized prices but loading the super coupons is not really working. Today I tried to use the super coupon for the grands biscuits – I was loaded to my card but didn’t come off, I had the paper one cut out so they tried that and it still didn’t come off so the cashier told me that I couldn’t use the coupon. What??? I said please ask someone else. She pulled up the receipt and took it to customer service and was told to just enter in the discount manually. She was not pleased. I hope they can work out some of the bugs quickly.
Shirley says
My customized offer doesn’t really correspond to my purchase history. There are a LOT of items under my personalized offer that I don’t purchase at all.
tnovak says
Not that impressed with the just for u. Overall, I find my savings to be a lot less than it used to be. Also in the preferred pricing area I think that it is a little deceptive b/c it is comparing your special pricing to their “standard pricing” not the sale price that everyone is getting at that time. But I am glad that they are trying. It just seems like the deals are not as great. Bummer, for couponers.
mnharry says
I am shopping more at Dominicks in the last few weeks. Thank you for all you do.

I am new to this “Just for You” but have not received my eggs. I hope I do not have to cut anymore ad coupons out again.
Thanks Jill for all the ways my family thrives from your tips and those who also write in with their experiences. See you in class Wednesday!

I’ve used it a few times and have had success. I forgot to load the super coupons before my last trip but had already clipped them out due to habit. I was in the store and wanted to check my list but couldn’t log onto the website (stating it was down till 9am PST for maintenance). I JUST went onto the website and when I try to view my “Personalized Deals” it asks me to log in and it seems to be stuck in a loop. Not sure if it’s a FF issue or a Dominick’s issue so I’ll try again tomorrow. I’m feeling that this program has great potential and it sounds like Dominick’s is starting to listen to it’s customers (at least a little).
gallegosjunk says
i like that Just for U program because it’s personalized and, so far, hasn’t given me any products i don’t buy to add to my card. BUT, i am sad about their new coupon policy…so i was hesitant to like this new program.
it IS nice, though, that they replaced their cuts in coupon stacking with a semi-comparable program. and, it also makes me do a little more to be involved in coupon selection, instead of just following your blog; helps me use what i’ve learned from you and find deals on Just for U to use with my coupons. :) thanks!!
dkmulder says
I signed up last week and it seemed like most of my offers were for things I just recently bought. Which in my case means I likely won’t be buying those items again any time soon so what good are discounts on things I don’t really need right now. I will see if anything new turns up in the future but right now, I’m not sold on this being such a great plan.
Shishir says
Few months back when Dominick’s announced amendment in the coupon policy, I felt, it was on it’s way down but lately with Jill explaining how to still work it out, I am more and more at Dominick’s lately and have truly enjoyed seeing the “customization” turning into “personalization” which truly feels great!
I love Dominick’s more and more now…
gracz5 says
Sorry to say that U don’t think this is a good idea. We need to be able to stack, and have our ecoupons ring up properly. So far, that hasn’t been very successful at Dominics. I find myself driving past them to get to Jewel more often now.
love to coupon says
My first experience with Just for You was a bit confusing for the cashiers. I understand the program is new and everyone was learning it, but the cashiers told me I still had to cut out the super coupons for those deals and the Just for You deals were different then Super Coupons. However, I had selected those deals and the prices did come out correctly. They also told me that I was going to need to print out my personalized deals in case prices don’t come out correctly. It was sounding like a lot more work then just clipping out the paper coupons. I will be anxious to see more deals. Unfortunately, I have a new card because I was always having problems with my e-coupons and I wanted a fresh start, so I am not sure how personalized my deals will be!

I am a “super couponer” and have enough of a stockpile so I usually don’t buy things unless they are free or almost free. None of the prices on my Doms card have allowed me that great of deals. I am sure though for the average shopper that goes grocery shopping all in one trip weekly that this might be a great plan for them
pattycakes says
Signed up for Just for U and did receive my free eggs. However, had repeated problems with Activia pricing. Luckily, I carried a printout of my deals, and Crystal Lake CS kindly refunded my money. But if I have to continue to carry my deals printout, this just won’t work. Fox River Grove won’t adjust for anything,
“we have nothing to do with the internet”, and it’s not worth the hassle. Hope they debug it soon-their IT people should try actually using it in the store!
kbogenski says
I just registered my card earlier today, and see that the free eggs were loaded to it. I haven’t actually used it in the store yet….but it seems like it is a GREAT idea!
SahmShopper says
It’s still early but my initial reaction is that it doesn’t look that great. The prices still aren’t low enough for me to buy outside of a coupon or catalina deal. Comparing them to Walmart prices doesn’t do much for me because Dominick’s prices are usually barely under Walmarts and I don’t shop at Walmart for a reason – I can get better prices waiting for a coupon deal. So, if my customized prices end up hitting when there are good coupon deals or cats, that will be GREAT, otherwise not that great. With that said it is still to early to really have a firm opinion and at least they have more items listed than MyAvenue – I NEVER get anything of use through that.
lovesyzygy says
I’ve had trouble getting cellfire or shortcuts electronic card-linked coupons to come off at Dominick’s, and I’m skeptical about the Just for U deals working reliably either. I’ve been burned too many times at Dominick’s, and it would take some awfully good deals to get me to return.

The best deal I have on my account is $1.78 for Dannon Activa which I buy pretty regularly (with coupons, of course!) So, I’ve been getting the Activa for 78 cents! Woo hoo! Many of the other things on Just For U I don’t purchase regularly.

THEY MUST THINK I’M STUPID OF COURSE I’M GOING TO USE COUPONS SO I CAN GET STUFF FOR CHEAP. THANKS FOR LISTENING AL

I am as yet underwhelmed by my personal offers. Perhaps it is because I can barely see the offers I have loaded onto my card when I am online and attempting to view them.
Dominick’s is a very interesting organism. I recently had the worst shopping experience of my life. My checker rang up my items and then challenge me to prove that I had purchased all the items I presented coupons for; it was embarrassing and obnoxious. Why does the industry even put coupons out there if users are subjected to such punishment?
Just for U is a gimmick designed for Dominick’s to overcome its reputation for being overpriced. When I start seeing that I am truly saving money and when the cashiers start treating me like a customer instead of a child I will be sure to report back.
lovingmotherhood says
While the free eggs were a great incentive, I am not overly impressed with the other deals. The prices are not low enough to entice me to make a trip. If you compare this program with the one that Jewel ran a while back, I made multiple trips to Jewel to take advantage of their phenomenal offerings. While the concept is great, Dominicks needs to do some aggressive offers to drive us into the store.
arctura says
I haven’t registered yet. If I hear about lots of people getting really fantastic deals because of it, then I might register.

I am taking a wait and see attitude. I did get my free eggs but not the bonus $5 for the glitches that we were told over the phone we would get. I just hope that I can find some goods deals out of Doms now that the e-coupon stacking is over.

Your column and super couponing class have been a lifesaver for me and my family! It is so easy for me to find out what is going on in each of the grocery stores each week. I found out about the new Dominicks coupon policy from you, and this week found out about their customized savings program from you 1st. Since I am a school teacher, it isn’t possible for me to plan my grocery shopping during the day after your new column comes out. That is my monday night activity. I am looking forward to planning my weekly trip to dominicks tonight!

I have had great luck with Just For U and think it is a going to be a great program. Although like all new programs it does have its glitches, the manager at my store was more than happy to work with me through the problems. I believe this program will be similar to Cellfire, P&G E-coupons and other programs, however, this is more convenient since all of the deals are in one location. Nice and easy. I suspect that Dominick’s is leading the way in the future of couponing and that all stores will eventually take the same route. This program should help Dominick’s with the ease of their reimbursement from the manufacturers, limiting or eliminating coupon fraud, and will allow them to limit quantities for the customer.

I signed up and did get my free eggs, but not my $5.00. I sent my husband to get his own Dominick’s card as he doesn’t have one and he came back totally confused. He didn’t get a card at all, but was pointed to a computer to sign up for the Just for U program. He tried to sign up, but part way through it rejected his phone numbers (both home and his own cell number). So rather than ask for help, he just skipped that step and continued on. Now he doesn’t know if he is signed up or not. He also doesn’t have a Dominick’s card either. I think the program has some glitches to work out, but it’s promising!
Thanks so much Jill…for all you do!

I signed up for their Just for U coupon center about 3 or 4 days ago. Haven’t seen anything since about free eggs. The personalized deals and club discounts don’t work. One says that it is not available in my area (I live in Aurora). The other said something about 7 days to activate.

I was in the store and tried to add on to what I already had on my card with the stores computers and I was able to add coupons to my current shopping list but could not print the entire list. Customer service called Dominicks for me but no one could figure it out. I was told someone would call me at home. No one ever did. I have not been sold on this program yet. I’m not sure I like the computer deciding what it thinks is the best price not knowing how many coupons I have.

I like the program and the deals. My issue is with all the “selected varieties” on the offers. There is no way to know which varieties are excluded until you are at the register. It would be nice if it was a little more clear because it is hard to catch it all at the checkout, especially since at dom a lot of the savings doesn’t come off until the end. 2 of my items were apparently not part of the selected varieties and one of my super coupons didn’t work. I called the number as the cashier instructed me to do and they are to get back to me. Hmmmm…we shall see.

Since I recently started couponing, Dominicks has generated the most savings for me. Before couponing, I was spending $100/week at Target and the deli counter had memorized my orders. Dominicks was just a store with an empty parking lot as far as I was concerned. Now Just For U has upped the ante with personalized pricing on the things I purchased most often at Target and Sams. My Sams Club and Target spending have dropped 50%, so it has been worth the effort.

I have had no problems with the Just For U coupons coming off, but why did they wait so long to do this! It’s about time, I would often forget to scan my coupons from the actual ad when checking out. This makes it so much easier, just load them to the card and done.

I just signed up and am excited about how easy it is to compile a list with offers that are specific to me and have the list emailed to me so that it is on my phone for when I go to the store. No clipping or printing required. Doesn’t get much easier than that!

Well this is my first post ever, anywhere! I never would have shopped at Dominick’s if not for you, Jill. In fact, until 11 months ago I only shopped at Aldi and very occassionally at Walmart. It has been a stretching exercise to become a couponer, and I am so grateful to you for sharing your shopping skills with me!
Until the Just for U program I could never get an electronic coupon on my receipt. I had even called Dominick’s and discussed the matter with headquarters. I was so pleased to get my free eggs! I look forward to taking advantage of more electronic coupons. Hopefully the $2.00 off $10.00 Rancher’s Reserve will come off some day since I buy a lot of meat at Dominick’s.

I’m hoping this is a great way to shop. I am sad that we can no longer stack coupons along with the e-coupons! Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

I like that the just 4 u deals are on the products that I buy most. Would love to win the $25 gift card as I have been having good luck with the Dom’s deals lately.
ksimowitz says
Had my first experience with Just 4 u last week in Joliet. They had computers set up at a table for customers to sign up and a representative to help through out the day. I had already signed up at home, however, it does take a day or two for your deals to be added to your Dominicks card. So, be wary if you are going specifically to shop deals you loaded on your card; you should wait several days to be sure.
Hirschybar says
I love the new program. It makes it so easy that they are on my card. I’ve already used the free eggs and a couple of other deals.

I have used Just For U only once so far….worked great! Hope to see more personalized prices as I use it more.

The Dominicks/Just for U website has given me nothing but problems. I login and go to the Just for U page and it logs me out. Just as frustrating as shopping at Dominicks. Go figure.
mashupmom says
While free eggs are nice, so far my personalized offers are underwhelming — $2.29 cereal? $4.47 detergent? $3.32 toothpaste? Um, thanks, but no thanks. On an amusing sidenote, one of my offers is for $.48 yoplait yogurt cups — which are already on sale for $.50 this week. Bought 20, saved my whopping $.40, and my receipt showed savings _off the regular price_ under Just for U at the bottom. Not really, guys!
Personalized prices for couponers are in some cases meaningless. For instance, my personalized price for Betty Crocker fruit snacks is $1.94 — I’m assuming they are showing up on there because I’ve bought them as a money maker on previous Catalina deals when you were able to stack coupons and e-coupons. Will I ever buy them at $1.94? Heck no.
EmmaGirl says
Love the concept of this program AND love the fact that you can print out your coupon list because you’ll need it when you go to customer service to complain about the offers that didn’t show up on your receipt. On my first trip with this program, two out of four offers didn’t show up on my receipt. The cs manager refunded the amount once I showed it to her on my print out.

Love the whole idea of loading super coupons to your card. I usually lose my super coupons in the store, they’re so tiny. However….just like the paper coupons you have to watch to make sure they’re deducted correctly so don’t blink. Not so crazy about personalized savings. I’m of the opinion that if you give savings to one you should do it for all. Also my opinion for the fresh values card. And my $3.99 u priced sandwich STILL ended up costing me $4.99. What happened?!! Please work out the kinks soon.

My husband and I met working at Dominick’s,so it was always where I loved to shop, but since they jacked up their prices I quit going there. Then I was introduced to couponing with Jill and it soon became my favorite store again. Then it happened…..this thing with the e-coupons had scared me away from my favorite store AGAIN!!! Hopefully now that they started Just For U I can start shopping there and not have to take out a second mortgage just to afford food.lolol My husband is a very pro-Union guy so he loves for me to shop at Dominck’s.
Dominick’s also needs to understand that if they take care of their employees, their employees then enjoy their jobs, which then makes it a delight for us customers to shop at the stores.=)Just my 2 cents!!
I hope I win this card I could really use it =)
Thanks,
Michele

I would love to win this! I am also happy with .44 cents a pound bananas. I am hoping it is a good program. It’s too early to tell if it will be good. I don’t like having to print pages and pages with my deals on them and then sifting through it.

couponcrazy says
First of all I would like to say that I always liked shopping at Dominick’s. I know a lot of couponers have problems and Dominicks but I never really had any problems to recently. I know plenty of couponers who avoided Dominick’s but I actually look forward to shopping at Dominick’s until recently. I love the idea of being able to load super coupons to my card. Half of the time I would forget to cut them out of the ad and would have to get an ad from the store and tear them so this saves me a step. I don’t think all the kinks of the program and been worked out with that being said I hope things get better. My first recommendation would to make the Just 4 U website accessible to phones. For me this is a huge drawback sorry I am not going to print lists and carry them around with me. Secondly I would suggest a coupon course for all employees it never ceases to amaze me the fact that most employee don’t understand couponing. I had a horrible experience this past weekend with coupons and e-coupons and the cashier had no clue that the store actually does get reimbursed for the coupon and that I wasn’t trying to rip Dominick’s off. The third issue is the e-coupons like most people when new e-coupons where offered I just added them to my card so of course I have a ton of e-coupons well when the e-coupon comes off on the receipt it only says mfr. e- coupon this past weekend the cashier wanted to argue with me what the e-coupon was for. The bottom line was she was wrong and she would not accept my paper coupon for an item I purchased that I didn’t have an e-coupon for. I didn’t want to hold the line up but in the end I know what I had e coupons for because Cellfire has a mobile application that shows me exactly what coupons I have loaded. Lastly, after shopping this weekend and looking at my receipt I noticed that an item I purchased did not ring up my specalized price it rang up higher. I did not notice this until I went home and logges on to the computer to view the price. I hope that Dominick’s can work out the bugs of this program so that I can continue to shop there.

Count me in, please!

I am skeptical, but will give it a chance this week….still trying how not to get burned with the e-coupon/paper coupon change…may forego the Just for U and not scan my card so that I am sure i can use my coupons…..have to see.

Not sure if they want a newbie to answer what I think about Dom’s whole concept. I am wanting coupons to be not only based on gender but on what we all buy. Like Avenue, it always hear about the great cpn deals going on but it is never in mine. So I am more of a wait and see before I can buy into their deal.
presto says
Sorry to be honest Dominick’s but I tried out your new program and it did not work out like it was supposed to, like always. I left out of there embarrassed after trying to explain to your cashier about my personalized savings Not coming off while she was looking at me like I had three heads and she huffed and puffed as she rolled her eyes so I just paid and left thinking to myself that no matter what program you put in place it is not worth the treatment I receive from people that are paid because we walk in the door to make a purchase; if they do not like their job they should not be there, go back to the basics Dominick’s, great customer service will always bring me back but your “angry because I work here” cashiers will keep me away. I HATE that feeling I always get when I walk in your doors knowing I shouldn’t be there and when I’m done telling myself, stupid I told you so. Your program might turn out good but to make it GREAT pair it with decent customer service. Thanks
casagrande says
Before couponing I didn’t step into Dominicks for many years. Now I’ll go there when something I like in one of the ads. Mostly I’ll still shop Jewel. In my opinion the Just for U doesn’t seem that exciting and I’m not impressed with Dominicks comparing their prices to WalMart. But I do want to commend them for giving it a try. I think corporate was listening to you Jill. I hope they find a way to bring us back with a vengenance.

Going to give it a try. Dominicks cashiers you have never been that good to me I clip and read and plan and then “WHAM!”, the cashier is the DECIDER on all things coupon. So I will get my free eggs and a few other items . No one should feel like a criminal when they use coupons. I will give you once last chance..
icoupon2 says
Here are my thoughts on the Just for U program:
The Good:
I like it that I can add the supercoupons to my card and not have to cut up my ad or try to do it in the store.
I really like some of my personalized offers. They are definitely things I have bought at Dominick’s in the past.
Personalized offers that run until February. On the ones that are a great deal, this is fabulous. I don’t have to worry where XYZ may or may not be a good deal that week. I know the price will be good every week at Dominick’s on those items.
It *seems* like Dominick’s is recognized that couponing is here to stay and that the number of people shopping this way is growing. It *seems* like they are making an effort to get us back.
The Bad:
Some of my personalized offers are clearly based on the kinds of Dominicks ecoupons I used to load to my card. I have never, ever bought baby items at Dominicks, but my personalized offers are full of diapers etc. I realize now it because I would load whatever “good” coupons would pop up. (Thinking if they were super-cheap I could donate them)
It is a lot of steps to see what is on your card. Rather than “fading” out the picture when you’ve added something, I wish there was just a little “add/added” button. I don’t like having to click the Print/Email button, wait for it to load etc. just to be able to see what is on my card.
The Ugly:
*Many* cashiers and customer service employees still seem not to know the coupon policy. They seem to not even know there is an updated policy. Most still quote the “50% of the items value” rule even though it is not in the policy anymore.
Confusion over the 2 version of the 9/15/2010 policy. Which is it? If I print one and carry it with me, will my store have the other? Which one will be enforced? Etc. etc.
*Many* cashiers & cs employees still treat couponers like gum on their shoes. We deserve the same respect, courtesy and level of service as customers without coupons.
windyharbor says
I seem to get the best deals at Dominick’s. I do my shopping on my lunch hour at least once every week. The nearest store is 18 miles from my home and I never get an ad unless I go into the store or view it online. I like the fact that the super coupons can now be loaded to my Dominick’s card. Saves alot time clipping the paper coupons. Although my card was not working for the first week after signing-up for the Just 4 U program, I brought the printed shopping list with me to the Mundelein store. The cashier had no problem adjusting all the prices and even gave me the free dozen eggs. (This offer is still attached to my card. Another free dozen eggs just waiting.) The problem with my Fresh Values card was promptly corrected after I put in a call to their customer service 800 number. I even got the $5.oo customer service credit. I will never do all my grocery shopping at Dominick’s, but I enjoy the thrill of the (good deal) hunt.

Signed up, loaded my deals and went shopping less than 24 hours later. It all worked! I was so pleasantly surprised! Unlike my previous Dominicks experiences, this was very easy and I even felt like I was getting deals. The best purchase – BOGO on the london broil + my -2.00 coupon that loaded on to my card. Great price, and great meat – we cooked some tonight and have enough for several more meals frozen. Thanks Dominicks for coming through on this – really nice to have you as an option again for shopping.

I’m still on the fence about the new Just 4 U. I loaded my card a few days before I went to the store. When I went to check out nothing was there. I had explain to the cashier that I loaded my card and activated the new promotion. She was kind enough to give me the eggs free. But the rest didn’t work. I will try again but next time I won’t walk away paying more than I should.

Not a huge fan of Dominick’s, but I gave the new program a try. I like that it saves some time and clipping. I’m hoping it will work consistently. I am tired of Dominick’s changing their coupon policy, or even worse, the cashiers making up their own rules when I try to use coupons. I’m cautiously optimistic.
gymnast20051 says
New Dominick’s Just for U program made my last weeks shopping much easier being able to load most of my coupons onto the card instead of clipping them. Saved me lots of time and gave my fingers a rest. Will be using this coupon program from now on…as long as they continue to offer it! With Dominick’s, who knows?!
Geets says
I think its a pretty cool e-couponing that Dominicks have come out with – heavily advertised in-store and in media.
I am truly hoping it works as it says. Each time, I have been to Dominicks, I have to double-check my receipts since there some error and then I have to spend another 20 mins explaining to customer service aargh! ..
milli3148 says
Unfortunately, I had an awful experience at the Dominick’s on Half Day Rd. tonight. I handed over my coupons to Sandy and she rolled her eyes. After scanning about half of them, she said, “That’s enough coupons, you don’t need to do anymore”. I was shocked and asked her to please scan ALL of them and she said, “you already saved ‘123…’ you used enough”. She wouldn’t even scan Dominick’s Super Coupons and said they aren’t good. The store manager was in the lane next to her and I asked him to come over and scan. I couldn’t believe that she wouldn’t scan them all. This is Ridiculous!!! Maybe I should have asked her to help pay my mortgage! Dominick’s, you need to take a minute and re-train your staff!!!

I signed up but I do not see it making a difference in my shopping life. Given the cashiers at Dominick’s terrified by scanning coupons (for a good reason), I go there when there is something worthwhile buying that I see on Jill’s site. Everything not on sale is maybe double in price than at other stores, I mean that seriously, so would I go there if one time on my “just for U” something is now priced like at Walmart? Unlikely. Unlikely I will spend the time checking it either and since Jill does not know what is on my “U” that might very well go unnoticed. Things need to be very cheap on the “u” for people to check it all the time.
It would have been more effective if the sales were not personalized, funny enough.
addicted says
Well, I’m not a big fan of having to carry “preferred customer cards” for so many places I shop at. Why can’t everyone get the preferred price/fresh values discount? Now, I have to load additional savings to my card and hope the discounts actually come off at the register, as well as needing to print out a list of those discounts so I know what they are while I’m shopping. It’s just too many things to juggle now at the the grocery store: shopping list, Just 4 U discount printout, and additional manufacturer coupons that aren’t included in my personal e-discounts, plus a 3-year old to tote! I have a headache now. . .
yamiagemini says
I know Dom’s has to try different angles on marketing and the Just for U program is one of them, I am not sure what I think about it quite yet…I am a bit skeptical but the free eggs are helping my thinking!

I was not able to logon to the site to load the weekly super coupons onto my card so I thought I would just cut the paper ones from the paper. They would not scan and the lady said it would be fine since I was signed up for the U program. When I looked at my receipt, what a mess:
Jello Pudding s/b $.89 each. 2 rang up for $.89 while the other 4 rang up agt $1.29. This happened on ALL of my items. Of course, customer service lady looked annoyed that I was even questioning it. To me, $7 overcharge is a lot especially if you consider if this happens everytime. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS.
mrswoman says
so far no complaints, the only thing i didn’t like was instead of it listing my super coupon under the item or separate i had to do the math to make sure the right amount did come off…otherwise no problems (YET)
Mvzimmerman says
It seems very confusing with the 3 different choices that you have (Coupon Center, Personalized Deals, and Your Club Specials). They seem to all over lap in some way with the variety of products that are offered – couldn’t this all just be included in one great way to save??? The 1st time I went to the site to load the coupons onto my card, it did not look like they loaded, so I clipped the coupons and gave to the cashier. Even with giving them to the cashier, items still ran up as .01 cent. I asked the gentleman about that and his response was ‘the sale prices come off at the end’. Yes some did and some did not. I have learned to review my receipt in my car now and go back into the store right then and there, instead of going home, reviewing the receipt, calling the store and then remembering the next time I am in the store to stop at the customer service desk which is now located at the front of the store (by the time I have shopped and checked out, I really don’t remember to stop at the desk). Over the weekend I logged back onto ‘Just for U’ so this next time I visit the store I will see if I receive the discounts.
Also, I really don’t have time to sit and view all of the pages on the 3 different ‘Great ways to save’ I feel it with just be a better time value if the prices were just reduced for everyone and not just me. Doesn’t the store pay the same price to the manufacturer for each case that they purchase – I don’t feel it is fair that I pay cheaper for an item then my neighbors…….. or they pay cheaper then I do…….
This just seems like to much work for me – if they are going to give me a discount then I should not have to log onto their website and spend 1/2 to hour before I go to the store to look for the discounts.
And what about the folks who are not on the internet – like the elderly, who are not computer literate, or the people that do not own a computer – they miss out on the savings – not fair to them………..
jessicaingilberts says
I signed up, got my free eggs, and was not impressed with the other discounts offered. None of them made the prices cheaper than woodman’s or walmart. I don’t think it will increase my shopping at Dominick’s, unless the offers stack with a deal of the week.
Mom of 5 says
I’ve used the free eggs and .44/lb bananas offers from the Dominick’s Just For U program so far. With a family of 7, I buy bananas 1-2 times per week, so every little bit saved is good in my book! I look forward to trying out the other offers as needed.
Even with all the recent changes, I still like Dominick’s:)

fitmom1118 says
So far it seems okay. They needed to do something because they are losing business to the others stores that have lower prices and don’t give you a hard time about coupons.I hope that continue it and add some different items that I actually use a bit more

The jury is still out. I just tried it this past Sunday and planned ahead so I knew exactly what I was suppose to get for items based off of the online coupons and other coupons I clipped. Well, I didn’t get my free eggs and the cashier was very annoyed with all my coupons. I don’t think I ended up saving very much. I will give it another try, but was a bit frustrated with the service and the results.

Lost my job yesterday …. would love $25 of groceries!

I’m on my way to Dom’s now with my card loaded up so we’ll see what savings I get!! Oh, and my free eggs too-can’t forget those:)
Breezr12 says
I just tried the just for u yesterday for the first time…I found it convenient to be able to get on the website and upload the coupons to my card instead of having to print out coupons, cut them out, and worry about it. I got my free eggs, and also ended up saving almost $30 in groceries. Not too bad of a deal! :)
Danzmom says
Fingers crossed!

ok I am on my way to Dominicks today, so let’s see if everything works :)

So far, I am very excited about the “Just for U” program. I like the way fact that the deals are on products I regularly purchase. And, I like the way the deals are on-going. Good stuff!

Ok…hope to grab more Nature Valley bars.
Maybe will win a gift card so can not worry about coupons for a bit.
thank you!

The program is great, the coupons are ones I actually use. I love the extra savings.
weenie1225 says
This program is GREAT! Wish more store’s would offer a program like this. Great job safeway! You help my family out so much with the savings.
alleykat20 says
Seems like a good program, I haven’t noticed any additional savings yet. Also, my free Eggs coupon never came off my order. So far mixed reviews from me.
MadHermit says
Still evaluating, but some of the prices do seem reasonable. We’ll see after a few weeks of use.

HMMMMMM. I will wait to see if they follow through with all the hype.

I am glad to see that Dominick’s is stepping up on their deals and sales. I have yet to experience any of the deals that just for U has offered although, I have loaded my card.

Saw that mine said Aunt Jemima Pancakes 2/$4. Took them up to the register and they rang at regular price. Told the checker that I had a Just 4 U price as I stated. She said to take it to customer service. Got a nasty look from the CSR, but she took off the price. Still think they need to work the kinks out of the system, but it is good in theory. You just should print your list from their site to verify your prices.
Libelleak says
I have had numerous difficulties getting my Just for U account to actually work for me. I can’t get any personalized deals (it says they are not available to me at this time) and have been in contact with CS about this. It’s been 2 weeks and still not resolved unfortunately. Thanks for the GC opportunity though! =)
dgoodwin33 says
Not that excited about the program. It took a two tries to get my free eggs. I wish you didn’t have to login and search to see the deals. I wish somehow you could know in the store the prices. I haven’t seen Just 4 U discounts on my receipts yet either–even with the free eggs. Unsure if it’s really a great deal.
MakeMoneyMel says
Sorry to hear so many people had the same issues that I have had with getting MY offers on this site. Sadly, I finally gave up. But I spent over 45 minutes trying to use the site. DOM, wake up! If my time wasn’t valuable, I wouldn’t be trying to sign up for special offers. (Sigh)…it might have been a program that brought me back to Dom…(sigh), I guess not.
rachelflower says
I signed up today for Just for U, and I like the Personalized Deals and Club Specials sections…definitely more personalized than Avenu ever is/was for me. I’ll be interested in giving it a go at the stores.

Now I need that Dominicks’s gift card to get me in their door :)
dchambers says
I’m not really sure this will equal more savings. I haven’t noticed that my list of coupons or deals is updated all that often and I wish I didn’t have to sort thru 3 different saving options on the website.
njrjohnson says
I think it is hard to track what you are paying. I used it today and the savings came off at the end after everything was rung up. So you cannot comment on an overcharge until after the transaction is complete. I got charged the wrong price for two things. I she rung me up for 3 bacons instead of 2!
mamadolle says
My free eggs came off with my personalized price for Apple Juice. Would have been nice if I remembered my coupon to go with it.
Ursula says
I think that this program might be fantastic for “non-couponers” or “casual couponers”, but for the “super couponers” the deals aren’t really anything to get excited about… at least not the ones I got on my card, anyway. Six months ago (pre-Jill) I might have thought some of these deals were great, and jumped all over them, but not now. I got my free eggs, and that was it. I’m grateful for free eggs. :)
Erica Jeanne says
I signed up because of the free eggs!
*THINGS I LIKE: Customized coupons, no clipping. I will be more likely to shop there due to the combination of coupons and nice people– the employees offered to return items and go get the correct item if a shopper confused promotions. They were kind to others and to me, which makes the coupon and shopping process much less stressful.
*THINGS I DON’T LIKE: Took a while for the personalized coupons to show up, still nothing online for “Your Club Specials”…
I am wondering how customizing coupons will work for shoppers like me, who only shop for coupon items at Dominick’s. My previously bought items wouldn’t necessarily point to future purchases.
artofthedeal says
It’s 8:55pm on Tuesday night and I went to sign up after reading this:
We’re sorry but Club Card Specials is currently unavailable.
Please try back again later or
click here to view your shopping list.
If you need further assistance please contact Customer Care at 1-877-SAFEWAY.
(Specials “is” currently unavailable? How about specials “are” currently unavailable?)
I tried to sign up on Sunday night and it was down too. How are we supposed to get in to see what discounts we have?
rjbsilver says
So far I got my free eggs, and that went OK, and I am not sure that I like the fact I cannot stack eCoupons with printables anymore, but otherwise it has gone OK for me. The things I like to buy there haven’t been on any great sales lately, along with not having as much money lately, so shopping will wait until I get more of a budget but maybe winning something like this could change that!
Momof3Js says
I have already signed up for the program, but I have not tried it yet. I have had no end of problems with the e-coupons so I am not sure that I will have much luck with this program… besides that, the Dominick’s by me doesn’t seem to usually have the things that match up with the e-coupons or catalinas. My trips there are usually disappointing. I will probably try it soon, though.
beth21 says
I think that it is a great concept. I am just not happy with their new coupon/ecoupon policy.
gel123 says
I think its okay. I was just getting the hang of the ecoupons with the manufactorer coupons. I liked the old way better. Maybe it will get better but this change is not that great for me.
punkin says
Got my free eggs! too much to try to keep track of. Just show me an ad!
jazzieti55 says
I think the idea for ecoupons is great however, Im stil cautious when the transaction is complete..checking over my reciept making sure all my ecoupons went through. I like when I use the physical paper supercoupons from the ad, that way I see it being taken off my purchase. I also Dislike the new coupon/ecoupon policy! BOOOOO!
Turken says
Do not like! I despise the fact that now to save any significant amount of money while shopping at dominick’s (I was doing just fine before, thank you very much) you’re required to have a card and get enrolled in the program so that they can track every bit of your spending and cram even more invasive advertisements down your throat. To put it another way, I’m feeling as good about this program as I did when IDOT rolled out the I-Pass system for the tollways and then gave people the “opportunity” to “save money” by using it, when in reality they were just jacking up prices for everybody but the most loyal customers who were given the “privilege” of only having to pay the same as before.
keltic says
The good parts are that the (super-friendly-I-go-to-her-everytime) cashier made sure I knew about it and was excited to see what I had loaded on my card and helped me check to make sure it worked.
The bad parts is that it’s a bit much for me to keep track of – to logon and add coupons to my card. I’m a bit short attentioned span to do that every week! :)
denisec says
I have already entered once, so this is more of a comment/question than anything else…How are we supposed to be able to tell once a “one-time” only q has come off our card? I know I have used some already, but they still show up on the Just 4 You website. I think this is a very easy way for Dom’s to have people forget what they have already used so that they purchase more w/o a discount. Hmmmm. So far this is my main issue with the site. Now if only the CS people could figure out the system so they can help. That would be great!
elisa03 says
I am new to this coupon thing, so I just signed up for the ‘Just for U’. I like how easy it is to add to your card and not having to fumble with them in the store. I also like the way I can print the list to have for reference in the store.
Thank You!
yourspagirl says
I really feel that Dominicks started this program because it has already taken so much away from us consumers. I miss being able to stack e coupons. I really hope this program will restore some good faith. :)
sxj999780 says
I have recently returned to Dominick’s because of the great sales. One thing that drives me wild is having to debate coupon usage with certain cashiers. One will decide you have “too many coupons”, another will deny your coupon because you will be “getting the item for free”. Pick a policy and I will work with it, but please train your cashiers so that they know how to work it according to the rules as well. Just my two cents.
hookedoncouponing says
Had an eye opener last trip. Did not realize Dominicks does not get reimbursed for expired coupons but just takes them as a courtesy. So this is money out the door for them. That is why they stopped combination e-coupon w/ other coupons. Had one clerk go out of her way to find me a 50% off milk which was happy about. Got approached numerous times about this program and where to locate added info. REALLY disappointed about the change in acceptance of other store catalinas and being able to use e-coupons w/ regular coupons. Guess…all in all apprehensive of what this new program will bring. Do think there is wonderful help there and people recognize me when come in. Want to also point out the wonderful produce person at Randall Dominicks. He offered my daughter a banana to help with our shopping. She did not want but mentioned blueberries. So he opened a container of blueberries and gave us a handful. She scarfed those down and he offered me the whole container free. Very attentive and was a nice shopping experience.
youknowme2 says
Am I wrong or isn’t an eCoupon a Mfr coupon…so why would they be able to be stacked in the first place?
msuboxhead says
It’s not nirvana, but it’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick! It does seem hard to keep track of what the price really is supposed to be.
amber1361 says
I think the new program is an adjustment. I prefer to look over the ad to see what I want to purchase. Now I check my personalized list as well as the ecoupons on my card. Too much work.
Janemdc says
I don’t have major issues with the new Just for U program at Dominicks; however, I find it difficult to remember what “deals” are attached to my card. I know I could print out the list of items, but I honestly don’t want more paper to carry around. I guess it’s time to upgrade my phone and start using it for things like this so I always have information at my fingertips. I don’t think the savings with this new program are all that earth-shattering, though.
momof4kids2luv says
I have loaded up my card but have not yet been out to utilize the ecoupons, but my initial thinking is that there is a whole lot to take in. I know that I can print out a list of what I have loaded to my card, and that is what I will end up doing, but it seems a bit overwhelming to me. I guess I need to make my first trip and see how it goes. I do see potential here …..
carixa says
I recently signed up for their program when I was at the store. One of their employees let me do it right there on their computer (love Dominick’s Oswego-always helpful!). I had to grab a few things for a potluck dinner while I was there, but I went home later that night and had a blast loading my card. I have a decent filing system for my coupons, but when I take my 4-year-old to the store it can be a challenge, so placing a majority of my coupons on my card saved me time and money. I saved close to $90 in one trip the following day! Thank you Dominick’s for this program-you have made a loyal shopper out of me. Thank you to my store in Oswego-they have always been really helpful when it comes to coupons and my 4-year-old daughter (who almost made a dash out of the store once!)

Happy with my free eggs and it looks like there will be a lot more good deals with Just for U. And a 25.00 gift card would top it off. =)
amynbrian00 says
I signed up just for the free eggs(who am I to pass up a FREE dozen eggs?!). I have been looking at my prices & so far there is nothing I’m overly thrilled with. Nothing that is a “must-buy”. Most items I’ll just wait for a better sale on. Some are things I never would buy anyway.
Today I got an email from Dominick’s touting new deals for me…..but when I went to my page & logged in, none of them were listed there. Also, in the email, it said that I have not loaded any deals up yet, which is untrue. ???
I will keep checking it, just to see if something looks good to me, but so far I’m unimpressed.
Jovandi21 says
I want to win bad!
kathy29 says
I’m going to miss stacking coupons and the free eggs aren’t enough to win me over.
jeanniek says
I signed up early when you first announced the program. However, except for one purchase(on one item) I haven’t been able to take advantage of it :(
This past weekend every time I tried to logon to see if I had any new deals, I kept getting a message that Just4U is not available in my area. Emailed Dominicks, cs wrote me that it should be fixed and yesterday when I logged on, it told me it was for Hawaii Residents Only???
And wouldn’t let me view my local ad (which I needed since I didn’t get my Wed Trib).
Have emailed cs again! Awaiting a response and even better A FIX!!
It does seem like a good idea and a good program, but so far in reality, Not So Much! :(
Jovandi21 says
winning this would be the only way I would shop at Dominick’s again.

It’s nice being able to load things on our card. However, I still bring my super coupons from the ad because I can’t trust the savings will come off automatically. As many people have mentioned I too will miss the stacking:(
savemethemoney says
I registered for this new program and thought my free eggs would just come off automatically when I scanned my Dom card. It didn’t. The C.S. lady was SUPER nice ( Gurnee store ), took me over to the laptops they have in the stores, had me sign in and showed me that I was supposed to have activated my free eggs and checked “ADD”. She showed me that you can activate the super coupons, etc. I haven’t thoroughly tried and investigated the whole site, but think it’s a great idea.
I also love the idea of the laptops and printers there at the store, in case I just pop in. I am assuming I can use them before I shop. Thanks for trying new things with us couponers, Dominicks! Let’s hope it works!
Mari Doug says
I haven’t tried the program yet, but I’d like to try it to see if it is worth my time.
Charlie Q says
I do kind of like the point of loading coupons on my card but do not like being restricted to one time use of it (if I buy the newspaper I get coupons and I have the option of buying a second or third paper I will have a second or third set of coupons). That great $1.00 off coupon isn’t as great when I buy 4 of them and I’m still only able to get $1.00 off. I understand that I can use paper coupons for the other 3 items so I still have to find and clip 3 instead of 4 coupons. Then the Super Coupons being restricted to one time use also, if using the Super Coupon will get me a great price on an item that I buy on Monday I should be able to meet the same requirements (spend $10) and get that same great price on Tuesday.
lajsapp says
I’m still a little wary, but things seemed to work when I used it. Got the free eggs, and some discounts that were ok, though nothing to get excited about. I don’t like the three different areas of the website, it’s confusing.
jozee says
Still having problems with my card getting ‘activated’ for the ‘free eggs’. Will have to try the 800 number.
aiyoonee says
I just don’t trust them. Sorry. Years of experience has taught me that. I have tried and tried, and not once has my electronic coupons come off correctly. Not from Cellfire, Just for You, P&G (although P&G did reimburse, which I appreciated) or any other e-coupon provider. I still bring my “regular” ones just in case. I long for the day when everything will be on the card and come off correctly, but I don’t think that day is anywhere in sight….probably because when the cashier hits tender/total, the discount come off so fast that no one can keep up, and you can’t check it until it’s too late.
Anyhow, Just for you may be supergreat news for the occasional couponer, but to me Dominicks has gotten way too complicated lately. “They do take cats? Or don’t they? E-coupon together with regular? Yes! Wait, oh no, not anymore. Maybe that was just yesterday….? But the manager said? And corporate said otherwise? Of course. Coupons didn’t come off? Sorry, nothing we can do about it cause you can’t prove you loaded them. Eggs aren’t free until another day, but sign up today and get free eggs!” You get the point. They just make it too hard to shop there.
Jovandi21 says
I would love to win this!
evey64 says
I just went online to sign up. Im going to pick up my free eggs tomorrow. Hopefully I wont have any problems but with Dominicks I never know what will happen.
Woogy says
I used my Just for U deals one time and it was ok. It did take off the coupons and personalized deals I had so I was just glad it worked. But I agree, what good is one coupon for one item when I still have to use paper coupons to buy more. Plus I can’t get a shopping list to print from Just for U so I never remember what I have on my card.
Jugee1042 says
So far I have had good luck with Just for U, I hope it continues.
phree4me says
I like Just for U, but I miss being able to stack cellfire, shortcuts and paper coupons. I understand why that had to come to an end, but now we will not be able to get as many fabulous deals.
I think Just for U is great for people who don’t want to be bothered with all the details of clipping coupons. Many of my friends enjoy it and are saving money.
But IMO, the hard-core couponers will most likely be spending less time at DOMs now.
. . . at least they still take expired!! :)
couponkingkevin says
I enjoy the personalized savings!
Marlene1963 says
When is Dominicks going to make couponing easy? I downloaded all the coupons to my card – the original batch say unlimited, the new batch say limited to one time use. Does one time use mean, I can buy ten at one time or just use it for one item? What about the products that are listed under both (unlimited and one time use). What happens when the item goes on sale – do we get the extra discount because it is “just for u” or do we get whichever corporate progams into the computer for the day…I’m sorry Dominicks needs to simply – not make it more difficult and scare the customer away.
hspiggy79 says
Just For U is…Just For ME!!!!!!!
Dawncog says
I have used Just for U a few times now and it seems to work, although I am a bit skeptical and am careful not to do too much on a single transaction just so I can make sure it’s working. My one frustration is that when I log onto Just for U, it shows me all the coupons I’ve “added”, but it doesn’t show me if I’ve hit my limit (for example on the eggs, there is a limit of 1, but no indication I’ve used it even though I have). Is there some way to see what coupons you’ve used and/or how many you have left? Also, is there any way to track your savings online?
Thanks for the great blog and all the hard work you put into helping us all!
mjohnson1981 says
I have not yet been in to try it out. If I win it I will though!!
elizabethrakow says
I am not crazy about the program. Their system is not reliable enough to take the coupons off. It would take a gift card to get me back in the store.
nova147 says
I think I will enjoy Just for U eventually, but change is hard. It was nice to not have to clip the super coupons, but then I had trouble remembering exactly what items I was getting. I’ll have to print a list next trip. The personalized prices are interesting. I wonder if a lower sale price would override that price. It’s weird that everyone has different sales. Guess it will take some getting used to!
suzi1202 says
store to shop at, but $25 would definitely convince me to give it another try. My first experience with the U program wasn’t very positive.

I love Dominicks! Hope this new concept works as well for us coupon enthusiasts as it does for the Company. Wouldn’t it be great if it was a winning idea for us all. I’m waiting to see…

I’ve activated it but just haven’t made it to Doms to try it out yet. But I just saw tonight that they have cheap milk this week ($1.69) so I’m going to go in and give it a shot. Thanks for the giveaway opp!
smiles says
Although I do like some of the personalized discounts such as the orange juice for 2.54; I don’t like the fact that with the new program you can no longer use and ecoupon and a paper one. The one thing I do like is that I can load the super coupons right onto my card. Even though I live less than 5 minutes from a Dominick’s it is in another town and I do not always get the ad on Wednesdays or on Sundays. My main concern about the program is that if I might think something is a good deal under my personalized deals I have to do my own research to find out if there is a coupon that goes along with it to make the best deal. The program I think has promise, it needs some fine tuning but I think it will work out in the end.
3zeesweetpeas says
I’ve had two shopping trips since activating my Just For U. Both times went well and all discounts were received as expected. I’m not overly excited about my personalized savings products, but in the absence of other options, they will do.
samm709 says
Haven’t tried it yet but keeping an open mind to the change and going to try it out. Definitely will miss stacking and wish there was a faster way to add coupons since there are so many pages. May be hard to keep track of what coupons were already used with the “one time use” rule
cmh222 says
So far the only coupon I have tried to use was for the free eggs. They came off without a problem. I really don’t like that you can’t stack a paper coupon with the ecoupons.
couponbliss says
I’ve tried it and I like how there is the possibility to have 3 coupons..one manuf, one store and one just for you. Not sure if that will every really happen, but we’ll see. Doms has been having some good deals lately so I’ll keep giving it a try!
kay9pets says
…altho $25 would be incentive! I just haven’t gotten around to it yet, and was also waiting to see if there were many ‘glitches’.
Quite frankly I am also very annoyed with be accosted at the door every time I go there and being stalked in the aisles. It’s not like anyone could NOT know about this program – it’s in your face all, over the store. Everyone is wearing it, and all the cashiers give you a spiel even if you were just there.
