12-count boxes of Green Mountain coffee K-Cups are on sale for $5.99 as part of Dominick’s “Buy 4, Save $4” sale this week.
Use this new $1.10 printable for Green Mountain and pay $4.89 for the 12-pack! That’s a pretty good price if you like to buy K-Cups – it’s about .41 per cup.
If you’re a Keurig fan, you might like this moneysaving tip too. I gave my husband a Keurig for Christmas this past year (from that Jewel deal around the holidays!) with the stipulation that he not buy the cups unless they were a really good deal. Obviously, you pay more for the convenience of the K-Cups. So, he did some research and bought himself an Ekobrew cup:
It’s a little refillable cup that you can put your own coffee into, then pop into the Keurig just like a K-Cup. It has a stainless steel mesh bottom, so after your coffee brews, you just tap it over the trash to dump out the used grounds, then rinse it out. Then, it’s ready to use again. Easy! I’ve even stuck a teabag inside the Ekobrew cup and made tea with this.
Unlike Keurig’s own fill-your-own cup, the Ekobrew cup doesn’t require taking part of the coffeemaker apart to use it..! And, Amazon has it for $10.42, unlike Keurig’s $20 refillable cup. So this is an option too, especially if you have a favorite coffee that doesn’t come in K-Cups. This has enabled my husband to enjoy his favorite Kauai Coffee each morning in the Keurig.

I have done a little research on refillable cups and was wondering if the Ekobrew allows coffee grounds to seep into the coffee. This is the major complaint I’ve read about these so I have yet to order one. I’d love to save money and drink the coffee I have as well.

My husband and daughter both use the reusabe coffee holder. I don’t by the k cups but I do buy the more expensive coffee for my husband. I just bought Seattle’s best coffee at Vons (Dominicks) and paid $3.38 a bag (that included the $1.50 coupon savings per bag). My husband said that the Folgers doesn’t taste so good, but luckily my daughter loves it more than the expensive brands. It’s a win-win for me. Happy brewing. :)
