40 is the new 20.

Thank you to everyone who’s posted birthday wishes today! Yes, I hit the big 4-0 today. However old one is “supposed” to feel turning 40, I sure don’t. I remember the great Gene Simmons turning 60 and telling an interviewer, “60 is the new 40.” By his logic, I should feel 20!

I’m so blessed to have an amazing family around me and a wonderful group of friends in my life. If you’re reading this right now, I want to thank you too — for helping make my job one that I’m always excited to wake up and do! I love writing, blogging and teaching, and I couldn’t do it without all of your support too.

Here are some images from the past couple of weeks. This is 40? I’m embracing every day. Bring on 50!

  1. Happy Birthday!!! I just turned 40 this last Halloween, and I agree with you. I remember thinking those 40 year olds were OLD. And of course WE are not! :)
