Here’s a great idea with a twist on the traditional greeting card. Cheryl’s cookies offers $5 Cookie Greetings – a special occasion card, such as birthday, congratulations, thank you, or get well – with a delicious cookie inside too!
The last time I went card shopping (in the absence of a good greeting-card deal, that is) I was amazed to see cards priced at $4.99 and higher. For a piece of cardboard? If I’m going to spend $5 on a greeting card, I’m thinking my money is better spent sending a card AND a cookie. The $5 Cookie Greeting includes postage, as well as a $5 gift card for more Cheryl’s cookies too.
These cookies are also very yummy. A friend sent us an assortment several years ago, and ever since then, Cheryl’s has been my instead-of-flowers go-to gift when there’s been a celebratory occasion where I might previously have sent flowers. Nothing against flowers, of course, but for my dollars, gourmet cookies are the way to go. The reaction from family and friends is always very positive. :)

I can’t stand those expensive cards. What a waste of money! My husband always used to buy say for my birthday or whatever 1 from him, 1 from the kids ( sometimes even separate and I have 3 kids!), from the dog… I would always tell him to have kids make me cards and give me the money he would have spent on cards in form of a gift card to Michaels, JoAnns… and instead of cut flowers, give me a perennial plant in a pot to put in my garden. He says I’m not romantic. :)
