If you’re a girl who grew up in the 1970s or ’80s (like me!) you undoubtedly remember these lip balm in sliding tins! Village Lip Lickers lip balms came in all sorts of delicious flavors, and I would bet that between my sister and I, we had half a dozen different delicious varieties to gloss our lips with.
Sadly, the Village company is long gone, but another cosmetics brand has re-launched these lip balm tins in a style that’s a near clone of the original. Now christened Vintage Lip Licking lip balms, these lip gloss tins come in the same flavors as the originals. How fun!
The tin on top of this photo is an original — the one on the bottom is from the new variety!
They’re $5.95 each, and you can order them online from Tinte Cosmetics.
Thanks to reader Kristin for spotting these and suggesting them as a fun restro stocking-stuffer for the holidays!
