I stumbled across this deal completely by accident..! I was working on a post about the beautiful Hotel Mazarin in New Orleans’ French Quarter, and I decided to look for flights to New Orleans from Chicago on Travelocity. There are so many incredible non-stop, round-trip flights from Chicago’s O’Hare airport to New Orleans for right around $100 — total!
Ever been to the Big Easy? See the sights of the French Quarter, eat some beignets, swoon over the seafood… you cannot beat these prices! Here are some deals I found for long weekends, mid-week or week-long trips to New Orleans:
- Sunday, March 1 – returning March 2, 3, 4 or 5, 2015: $97
- Thursday, March 5 – Monday, March 9 OR 10, 2015: $97
- Wednesday, May 27 – Monday, June 1 OR Wednesday, June 3, 2015: $97
- Saturday, June 27 – Tuesday, June 30, 2015: $107
- Sunday, June 28 – Wednesday, July 1, 2015: $107
- Wednesday, July 15 – Tuesday, July 21 OR Wednesday, July 22, 2015: $107
All of these are on United Airlines. These are crazy-cheap fares that I can’t imagine will last long!
I used Travelocity to find these great fares! Click here to search for your own.
(I like booking with Travelocity too because you have 24 hours to cancel your flight for a full refund, no questions asked.)
(And, if you’re looking to plan a New Orleans trip, here’s my trip report from 2012. This link’s worth clicking just to see a photo of the enormous lobster I ate!)

My wife and I were in New Orleans last October.
Perfect temps about 80.
I wouldn’t recommend going down the in thier brutal hot and humid summers unless you stay at the ocean or pool all day.
We stay at a relatives 2nd home, so it’s a cheap get-a-way for us.
I’m a beach guy and when I go on vacation and it’s near the ocean, I’m usually there!
The ocean is dirty in that area of the gulf.
Another must are visits to the Dirt Cheap and Treasure Hunt stores in the area for us deal shoppers in addition to the French “flea” Market in the French Quarter.
LOTS of deals to be found!
Plus you have to eat the muffuletta, Po Boys, & beignets when you are down there… in addition to cheap seafood!

After this post, we started investigating a 25th anniversary trip to NOLA. Air fare is still low. Any other recommendations for hotels? The one Jill mentioned Mazarin is almost $200. a night. What about neighborhoods to stay? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

I haven’t yet booked a flight but found a GREAT price for hotel Hyatt Recency New Orleans – $54.00 a night on Sam’s Travel site. Hyatt Regency says the room booked through them is $188.00!
I don’t really care if its a chain that lacks charm for that price!
