A tale of two Softsoaps: Which size is the better value?

I was at Walmart this weekend and spotted two displays of Softsoap near each other. Check them out:

The first display shows 5.5 ounce bottles for .98:

The second display shows 8.5oz. bottles for $2.27:

Even in a no-coupon situation, the smaller Softsoap is the better buy of the two – it’s about .19 an ounce versus the larger bottle’s .27 an ounce.

Crazy, isn’t it? You could buy two smaller bottles for $1.96 and get 11 ounces of soap instead of paying $2.27 for 8.5 ounces!

  1. I wonder if these will go on clearance with the other Christmas things? Then they may end up being a bargain IF we have a coupon for them.
