The kids and I went to Walmart yesterday to look for gift-bag goodies for my son’s birthday party. Our Walmart is currently 50% off on Christmas and holiday gear, and all of the “movie box” size candies were on sale for .50 each, down from $1 per box. We also picked up an inflatable snowman for the front yard (my husband has been asking for one..!) for $9.99, Christmas cards for $2.48 (higher than I like to pay, but I was a sucker for the palm-tree-Christmas-tree design!) and the boys also wanted Santa hats to wear next year. They were .49!
My mom told me that her Ace Hardware is 75% off Christmas stuff today, so my husband headed over to check out our Ace and see if there’s anything good over there too. Have you scored some noteworthy after-Christmas deals?

I went to Walmart as well and I was able to find really cheap Lego poly bags. These are the plastic bags that have a small model in each and some have mini figures.
These normally run between $3.47 and $4.29. All of these were only $1.50!!! Awesome price! Remember that these are the small mini model bags.
Star Wars Star Destroyer 38 pcs
Star Wars MTT 51 pcs
Star Wars TIE Fighter 44 pcs
Ninjago set 39 pcs has a mini fig
City dump truck 32 pcs has a mini fig
Creator helicopter 52 pcs
These were all in the toy section but the star wars was not with the other ones. And they were not in the Lego aisle at my walmart. Check the free standing shelves as well as the Lego aisle.

Hi- I was at the Dominick’s at Dempster/ Dodge in Evanston yesterday, and they had all their Horizon eggnog 50% off. I love this stuff, and it is low fat. For anybody that lives in Evanston, that particular Dominick’s store often has ripe bananas for $.19/lb. The other Dominick’s store on Green Bay, has their ripe bananas on sale for $.65 a lb.!
I was in the Jewel on Green Bay in Wilmette this afternoon too, and they did not have their eggnog on sale, but they had gingerbread house kits marked down to $1.99, and they had most of their Christmas candy really cheap. They had a one pound bag of Reeses miniature peanut butter cups marked down to $.75. I was really tempted, but I decided to pass, because I love them so much. They only had one bag left though. They also had their miniature holiday cupcakes marked down to $1.50 a package. I don’t know if that is a deal or not.
My sister in Michigan, gave me a ton of food when I came back Thursday, and so I do not need to spend much at the store this week. Besides a lot of the Christmas leftovers, I got the last of her golden delicious apples, and I got a box of winter squash. I am going to try to make some turkey chowder soup and some curried butternut squash soup today. Hope this helps, Nancy

I found Christmas Oreos for $.89/pack. This was at the Algonquin Target. They had a bunch of candy left. The Villa Park Target has bags of Stacey’s gingerbread pita chips for $.89 that my coworkers just loved!!
