Aldi always sells produce by the piece (c.u.–cada uno) unless wrapped or in a bag in a quantity.
Therefore, 39cents for sweet potatoes would mean each little one is that price, not a per pound price.
Aldi sometimes has incredible bargins with meat and other perishable items within a day of their sell-by date. I snagged some really cheap packs of great chicken legs the other day.
Aldi sometimes has seasonal items reduced–look for black marker crossing out the red lettered signs and giving the new price.

Our Aldi ( Aurora Route 34 and 59) has Pineapple for 50 cents each. All of them were green when I was in tonight.
