  1. I just stopped at my local Aldi to pick up some OJ and a few other items.

    The $5.99 a pound filet caught my attention, until I took a close look at the package. It’s filet of CHUCK, not real filet mignon. I suspect many of the other cheap “filet” cuts like the bacon wrapped filets they sell are also.

    In retrospect, I wonder if the bacon wrapped “filets” I got a couple years ago when Jewel had them on sale were the same. We were VERY unsatisfied with the ones we got then. Now I think I understand.

    I certainly don’t need to pay $6 a pound for chuck!
