As I was listening to Johnny B this morning, he announced that there was a big story about me in the Daily Herald today on the front page of the Neighbors section..! I did the interview a few weeks ago, but it is not in my edition of the Herald — I believe it’s in the Cook County edition. From Johnny’s description, it sounds like a pretty nice piece! If you get the Daily Herald in Cook County, let me know if you’ve seen it :) Update: The article is online now here.

I heard the same thing this morning. He called you, “our very own”. I stopped at the gas station and figured it must be cook county too. I hope someone emails it to you, he said the shot of you in your pantry was something to see.

I can confirm – the article is in the Daily Herald – Cook Zone on the front page of the Neighbors section! Thank you so much for all that you do! I haven’t been able to get to a class yet (husband and I work opposite shifts), but I have started using all the information on your site and have already saved lots of money in just a few days! Thank you to you and to everyone that posts all their tips!

I just saw the article and at first from the picture I thought you were posing at a food bank. Then I read the article and found this was YOUR own pantry. You should be ashamed of yourself. There are many people in desperate need and you are hording all this. You could do a great service and donate much of it to a food bank. For example, you have more shampoo on your shelf than I would use for the rest of my life.
You may think it’s a nice piece but several of us who read this just thought that you were greedy.

You are in the wrong website. I have read many websites where people show all their stock pile pictures and Jill’s doesn’t look like that – It’s obvious that you don’t have all the information with you and I would like to tell you lots of things but instead I will just tell you that you need to consider taking one of her classes. In the class you will learn about her and all the donations that she provides to her local (Huntley, IL) I bet nobody donates as much as she does in Huntley.
I think that if you begin to learn about her then you will begin to love her like we do and You will be offended as we are when you read comments like the one you posted.

OK OK, we all love Jill!! Let her get back to it and give us our early look at this weeks deals!!!! I’m breaking out in a rash here waiting!! He He He…
Seriously, Thank you Jill, I have given so much more this year to our food bank. I’m so happy to do it too, I have friends who NEVER thought they would need to go there. I’ve passed along a lot of your deals to them as well.

I spoke to Linda Moore today and she also told me that there is no food pantry in Grafton Township, but gave information about two churches that offer food pantrys.
That is great and one of the churches did help me tremendously, however:
church #1 is only open for food wed. 4-7
church #2: you have to call the church and make an appointment for someone to come to your house and deliver food. This church is not equipped to handle a large volume of people who need food.
I thank God for these churches and their help.
I was talked to rather rudely from Ms. Moore and I think it is pathetic that she would take the food pantry out of the hands that need it.
Some people might not want to go to a church for assistance. In addition, it is not convenient for people.
The Grafton township food pantry on Smith Road near the new Walmart has a building site that was donated from the landloard there.
How is it a problem to have this benefit there? This is not Northbrook is it? Which by the way does have the largest youth services program around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
