My sons each earned free tickets to Santa’s Village kids’ amusement park in Dundee, Illinois through their school’s reading program earlier this year. We figured it would be a fun place to spend a summer day, and fairly inexpensive too as I was the only one who needed a ticket to go with them.
As we made plans to head to the park today, I remembered seeing a sign for discounted theme park tickets at Menards’ service counter recently.
We stopped into Menards on our way to the park today, and indeed, Menards sells Santa’s Village theme park tickets (regularly $24.25) for $19.25.
I asked for one ticket, and then I had another idea: “Can I buy a Santa’s Village ticket with one of my Menards rebate checks?”
The guy at the service counter said “I don’t see why not!”
Indeed, he rang me up, and I paid with an existing Menards rebate check that I had in my wallet:
And look — because the 11% rebate on everything purchased in store is running, I also got a rebate receipt for $2.12! So, I ended up saving $7.12 over buying my ticket at the gate, and we had a wonderful (hot!) day at the parks. Plus, we learned that attraction tickets purchased at Menards during the 11% promotions qualify for rebates too!
In addition to selling discounted Santa’s Village tickets, Menards also sells tickets to:
- NASCAR races held at Chicagoland Speedway in September 2017. These start at $45.
- Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin. Menards sells adult $25.95 tickets to $21.95, and children’s $11.50 tickets for $9.95.
- Country Thunder music festival in Wisconsin, which begins today. Menards sells single-day tickets for $53.11 and 4-day tickets for $190.
I’ll leave you with some fun photos of Santa’s Village, because… why not? This was the first year that my boys were finally too tall for the little-kiddie rides, but we still love to go there. It’s a special place with a lot of family history for us. My mother and my aunt both worked as Santa’s pixies in the park in the 1960s, so there are three generations of us who have made many fond memories at the park.

Goodwill is advertising free Renaissance Faire tickets with a $20 (pretax) purchase, while quantities last. I picked up free tickets at the Round Lake Goodwill over the weekend. I don’t know if you can get more than one at a time, so I made two trips.

I’m getting spammed every day with $3.00 Mt. Olympus tickets vs. $8 on their main home page:

They also added all you can eat for free this year if you stay at one of the hotel/motels they own.
$3 for all day go-carts, roller coasters, & large water park is next to unbeatable.

Update for 2022
Last year I bought my tickets at menards for Santas Village . You can not get the 11% rebate on tickets bought.
At the gate veterans used to be free but this year 2022 they are charging $19.99 but extended the discount to the family members as well.
They also claim you need to reserve your spot on santa village website. You can buy ti kets through 3rd party but still need to reserve a spot.
