We headed to Target bright and early this morning (to pick up the new “Scooby-Doo & KISS:Rock & Roll Mystery” on DVD — buying it at Target gives you a free 6-pack of Pop-Secret!)
While we couldn’t wait to get home and enjoy a morning matinee, I’m glad we took a few minutes to browse the sales too. All of the summer clearance gear I blogged about last week is gone — it’s been completely removed from the store and replaced with back-to-school dorm room gear.
However, we spotted a bunch of summer tees, tanks and swim trunks on clearance 30-70% off. Cartwheel has an extra 20% off kids’ apparel this week, and we picked up:
- Boys’ tank tops on clearance: Marked $3.50, we paid $2.80!
- Boys’ character tank tops: Marked $4.50, we paid $3.60.
- Boys’ swim trunks: Marked $3.88, we paid $3.10!
As we were walking to the register, my boys spotted an incredible deal on the Disney Infinity 2.0 WiiU starter pack! The sale tags noted all of the 2.0 starter packs for, Xbox and Playstation were on sale for $29.99, but the WiiU starter pack was on sale for $9.99. Our store (Algonquin) only had one WiiU system on the shelf, so I don’t know if this is a special at all stores, but that’s just a crazy-cheap price.
My boys had each taken $5 of their own money to the store to buy Pokemon cards with. Instead, they decided to pool their funds and take this set home! They are still talking about their great deal! These starter packs were originally $59 when they first came out.
My youngest son even pointed out that buying just one figure from the Toy Box starter set would cost $9.99 alone — the starter set has two figures, the portal and power discs.
It was a fun, quick morning Target run, and now we’re happily enjoying watching Scooby & KISS’ newest adventure together. (And no, this isn’t the first time Scooby-Doo and KISS have shared mystery-solving capabilities — we’ve been waiting for this since 2006’s “Monster Matinee!“
