You never know what you might find while clearance shopping, but this weekend, Meijer has been good! I went over to check out the new sales and spotted some great clearances at the Algonquin Meijer…
Near the back of the store, there was an entire endcap of high-threadcount bedsheets on clearance for bargain prices — 75% off!
Full, Queen and King-size sets ranged in price from $10-$20, in 100% cotton, 300, 400, and 600 thread count. I picked up three sets for our King bed: a 300-count for $11.25, a 400-count for $15, and a 600-count for $17.50. The regular prices for these sheets were $44.99 to $70.
Clearance shoppers know it’s fun to share a sale (which is why I’m posting this for you!) and my mom and I often pick things up for each other if the price is right. A quick “Want sheets?” call to my mom, and she was in for three Queen sets as well: a 300-count for $10, a 400-count for $12.50, and a 600-count, also $17.50. When we left, there were still at least 20 sets of sheets on the endcap near housewares.
If you shop for children, check the kids’ winter clothes clearance racks too — my sons spotted a rack of long-sleeved boys’ tees with fun prints on them (Rock n’ Roll, Star Wars, Hot Wheels) which were all marked in the $3-$4 range. A quick trip to the price scanner revealed that they’d been marked down further to $2 per shirt!
As with all clearance sales, a lot of luck is involved, and different stores clearance different items and departments at different times. But if you go, these are worth checking out! Readers have been reporting lots of other Meijer clearance finds this weekend too.
Blog reader Penny spotted the “holy grail of clipless coupon shopping organization” on clearance at the McHenry Meijer – split accordion files for $3.99 each! She writes, “The coveted split file… I was there [last night] around 8pm and there were at least 20 of them. They are located in the back of the store near the hardware/automotive department on an endcap almost on the back wall of the store. Price is $3.99 and I verified at the scanner too.”
