two questions regarding Catalinas:
1) this goes to Coupon Maven or anybody else who was attempting the Ritz cracker super deal a month ago: did Catalina Marketing send you coupons or in any way respond to you?
i sent in a request with a scanned receipt on 9/19, and they’ve ignored me ENTIRELY. when submitting the problem, their website said something along the lines that Catalina coupons are normally sent out within 10 business days of request, or if there were issues with your report, that you’d be contacted within 2 business days.
they did neither, so i emailed them on October 9, and they ignored that as well.
what clowns.
———–
2) has anybody gotten a Catalina alert for Kidfresh from Jewel? there’s one ongoing at other chains, so i bought two items (spaghetti loops pasta ‘n meat sauce, and wagon wheels mac ‘n cheese) at Jewel, making use of mega $2 and $1.50 mymixx coupons, along with a $3 sale. no coupon got printed, even though the machine was powered on. nor did it trigger any alert.
it was a test on my part, but one i was optimistic going into. it’s been nearly 5 days since the purchase, meaning i have just ~2.5 left to contact Catalina if an error occurred. so if anybody’s gotten an alert at Jewel, hearing about it soon would be very helpful.
assassin says
1) haha; figures one day after i complain here, a check dated 10/16/18 arrives. :/ so i retract my dig.
2) this question still stands, as i’ve come up empty with googling. now, there curiously were $1-off-2 Kidfresh coupons generated by Jewel Catalina machines like several days prior (when it was Word of the Day). could those be in lieu of OYNO Catalinas at certain chains?

I know you don’t blog liquor deals, but wanted to share this one with anyone who drinks beer this week. (I tried to get the wine deal last week but my store was sold out of every bottle of Beringer that qualified for the rebate!)
Buy any 2 Shock Top 12 packs of bottles and Michelob Ultra bottles (I got the “citrus pack” of Shock Top and it qualifies) and a $10/2 mail in rebate certificate spits out at the register with your receipt. Those 2 are both on sale at Jewel this week for $7.99 each and it gets better. Ibotta has BOTH of those types current, with $4 back on Shock Top and $2.50 back on Michelob Ultra. So after both the mail in plus the ibotta deals, it becomes a 50c MM! Figure in your stamp cost and you break even.
Steve says
Bought the 2 12packs of Michelob Ultra and sent in the rebate. Turns out they would not honor the rebate for it was suppose to be Michelob Ultra Pure Cold. There was no mention in the weekly ad or at the display in the store that it had to be the Pure Gold brand. Screwed again Batman.
Tammy says
Yep. Same thing happened to me!! Does anyone know if ad said Pure Gold version. I remember the signs just saying regular one😡😡

there is a $1.99 3-day sale on 52 fl oz Simply Orange juice (including the Light variety) through Sunday 10/21.
there is a hefty $2 MyMixx on the 52 fl oz Light Orange and Light Lemonade (the latter of which is not in the sale).
get paid a penny to drink!
—–
some stores have 400 mL (13.7 fl oz) Zico organic coconut water on sale for $2, while others have it for an impressive $0.99. who has it at what varies around here. i initially thought the lower price was a clearance, as it’s normally $3.99. but it might just be to burn off excess inventory, as one location bumped it up to $2 (before the tag’s distant posted end date for the 99-cent sale) and continued to carry.
pair that with a $1 MyMixx; possible penny-maker here, or just a nice $1 cost.
Calibabydolly says
Thanks for the eagle eye spotting the Simply Orange (Light)! I missed that one for sure in my MYMixx but luckily it was still there and both my husband and I both were able to score a free bottle this morning at Jewel! AND make sure you grab another item with it. We each got an apple or banana to absorb the extra penny, I am not sure it would have worked if we had bought the juice alone? I also noticed this type of Simply Orange is being taxed as a “sugar item”, like candy is! So regular O.J. is 1% tax and 50% less calorie juice “drink” is 6.25%? Insane logic there.
assassin says
no prob. i initially misread it as $1 off 2, as that was the number combo for the Simply Light e-cpn i pointed out a month or two ago — the odd one that was on the Coupons.com webpage, but never showed on MyMixx proper. so a second look prompted a double-take, then salivation. ;)
more things in that category:
– $2 off Simek’s lasagna (expired mid September)
– $1 off MorningStar Farms item (not to be confused with $2 one), expired very recently
– $1.00 OFF any ONE (1) Pomi tomato product, good thru 1/14/19
– Save $2.00 on ONE (1) Farmwise Chicken Veggie Nuggets or Chicken Veggie Tenders, Exp: 12/31/18
none of the damned things will likely work in-store, unless you show the cashier your phone (or in my luddite case, a print-out). but these “lost” or “alternate dimension” e-coupons intrigue me to no end, so i like to post them. :P

as for normal MyMixxes: you see the new $1.25 Nature Valley Crunchy Bar?
Calibabydolly says
Yes! I had us both hurry and clip that crunchy one early this morning. Husband ate one of the crunchy bars we got last week today and proclaimed “messy but good”. I think they must be a bit crumbly in package? That was the PB and dark chocolate ones. Hopefully we will get to use it this time on an upcoming deal.
assassin says
ah, the HV Farmwise showed up on normal MyMixx today. so a few days lag. the item is new to stores and not on sale yet, but i look forward to getting it for half price.

“4-packs of Chobani yogurt are $3.50 each. Use the $1 coupon from the 9/16 SS and pay $2.50. The 9/30 SS2 has a $1-off-2 too.”
– the 32oz barrels are advertised at $3.99, but one local store has $3.50 shelf stickers. (i didn’t attempt to price check them.)
– there are also $1 coupons stuck to various containers of both types.
———
“Doritos 9.25-10 oz., Krunchers 8-8.5 oz. or UTZ Pretzels 14-16 oz. are $1.77 each”
combine the last one with a $0.50 Checkout51 rebate, limit 1.
assassin says
Enjoy Life crunchy chocolate chip cookies 6.3oz, found in the organic aisle, are on clearance for $1.98 (normally $3.99, and their compatriots on sale for $3.50) at at least 1 store.
double discount on top of that:
1) there is an Ibotta running on these, 5 per receipt; mine is $0.55 each, but it can go as high as $0.90
2) two possible coupon options, the simple one first:
a. many packages of the brand have $1.50-off-2 coupons stuck to them.
b. there is a $1.50-off-1 printable available at:
https://www.savings.com/grocery
(a nice, little-mentioned website, btw. i just learned of it a couple months ago.)
HOWEVER, it has the caveat that the item must be “over $3.00”. a literal read makes this coupon a non-starter here. however, i do wonder about intent. is the goal to rule out certain items based on whatever their _current_ price may be, or is it to limit the coupon to a certain “class” of Enjoy Life products; e.g. ones that aren’t too small, or don’t have lower-cost ingredients?
the fact that this previously $3.99 item is now on clearance for $1.98 does not change its basic category — see the other, non-clearance cookies in the same-sized 6.3oz boxes sitting right next to it on the shelf. nor does it likely change the finances from the perspective of the manufacturer, who’s the entity offering the coupon in the first place. …unless some store clearances are manufacturer-subsidized? i wish i knew the internals of how clearances and such worked, as well as how cashiers handle coupons with these minimums (i have minimal experience using this type). i *suppose* if Enjoy Life’s goal were to specify item class/category, they could have simply gone all verbose-athon like Crest and Colgate do on their coupons (and i do in 65% of my posts here). but i do have the sneaking suspicion that the “(over $3.00)” text was intended as a shorthand.
——-
so with hassle-free stickies plus Ibotta, final cost is $0.68 per box when you buy 2! maybe better if you haggle your way into using the printable.

a high-value MyMixx, still clippable:
“BUY ONE, GET ONE
Amy’s, Buy ONE (1) Amy’s Entree, Get ONE (1) Amy’s Burritos Free (MAX VALUE $4.00)
Offer Type: One-time MFG Coupon
Expires: 10/31/2018”
what makes this especially alluring now is that some stores have select Amy’s items on clearance (or since that’s not mentioned on the tag, just very steep sales?). what i’ve seen:
one store:
– Black Bean & Cheese Enchilada – Light & Lean , $1.99
other store:
– Veggie Loaf Meal , $1.49 . (being a “meal” instead of an “entree”, i dunno whether it’ll qualify, but it is still listed under “Entrees” on their website.)
– some other enchilada(s) or tamale(s), in the 9 to 10oz area , $1.49 . yeah, i specifically paid attention yesterday, but when they have 13 items on their website that look a bit alike, it’s easy to melt my brain trying to remember. don’t think this one was a “whole meal”.
as a comparison, their other entrees (including bowls) are largely $3.99 normal price, and on sale for $3.50 through tomorrow.
the twist here is that Amy’s burritos have normal prices of $2.49 and $2.99, making them more expensive than the clearance items that would grant them as a freebie! there is nothing in the coupon verbiage prohibiting this. however, i’ve encountered register systems at at least one chain that seem hellbent on limiting your award to the lower-priced item in the pair on a B1G1F coupon, ignoring its text in the process. so be ready to show the cashier your e-coupon if this flubs.

I bought one Shock Top and one Michelob Ultra and was denied the rebate too. This was Jewel’s mistake. We couldn’t even read the rebate until it printed out. They let it print out when we purchased regular Michelob Ultra so I didn’t scrutinize the form to catch the ‘Gold’ part.
