Jill, I didn’t think Jewel allowed coupons on free products any more(on the bogo).

Thank you – I am so out of sorts with everything in life right now. I did not even realize we’d had a policy change: https://www.jewelosco.com/justforu/coupon-policy.html
I will update.

i’m not convinced jewel actually HAS had an actual policy change. notice how the date on that one is 2.5 YEARS BEFORE the Summer 2014 one we’ve been operating under? i’m no lawyer, so i don’t know what the applicable term here is — backdating? — but having an older document supersede one far newer than it is dubious, to say the least.
other things that make the above linked policy fishy are: the talk of coupon doubling (since when does any Jewel-Osco location ever do this?), 90-day rainchecks, and “Club Cards”. fanciful, quaint stuff, really.
Ellen has raised this issue on multiple occasions, where i presented my own theory on the matter (namely, that the “new” policy is a copy+paste gone awry of the Safeway coupon policy, and was caused by the website’s digital coupon system transitioning from MyMixx to JustForU):

heck, this policy that i had found on the Jewel-Osco website IS THE Safeway policy:
https://www.jewelosco.com/terms-of-use/justforu-cp-rl.html
until these clowns can produce a policy prohibiting coupons on freebies that:
1) is dated AFTER the Summer 2014 policy that was/has been in effect for over 4 years
2) refers to the store chain by its ACTUAL name
and
3) wasn’t produced by a 8-year-old putzing with a Xerox machine and color forms
, i would be inclined to hold them to the Summer 2014 policy and not change my purchasing habits one iota.
there’s simply nothing conclusive here to tell me that said 2014 rules have been reversed or overridden. Jewel-Osco’s communication skills are atrocious, and rivaled only by their inability to properly maintain a website.
if a Jewel employee in-store pointed me to the 2015 Safeway policy, i’d gladly point them to the store sign on the front of their building. or if they pointed me to the January 2012 Jewel-Osco policy, i’d show them a present-day calendar alongside a copy of the trusty Summer 2014 policy.

I am ignoring this policy dated 2012 until a store employee actually denies me a coupon based on this lazy publication.
We have discussed this “new” policy here before and I approached the head of CS desk and asked point blank if they had a new updated policy. She replied….not that she knew of. Good enough by me then!
In fact, I just post redeemed 7- $2 coupons on the Hills Bros. coffee last week. Also, I have used a coupon on a free item in a BOGO situation in the past few months and my cashier manually entered it in with no questions asked. I also received (minimal) overage on some Driscoll’s berry coupons this past spring/summer and the register did not reduce or deny them at all.
If Jewel DOES enforce this policy, I will not be shopping/couponing here nearly as much as I do now. I’m in their stores practically daily as it is now!

Mary Ann, I haven’t been able to complete the Jewel deals for the current week yet. I have been dealing with significant family issues over the past few months which are my primary priority.
