The Signature Care $2 J4U diaper coupon says it’s off a larger BOX on mine right now. There is an Open Nature $2 J4U diaper coupon that appears to be on the smaller bag? Unless these will load again on Wed.?
Also, there is a manuf. cpn for $2/2 Innovasian 9 oz. on J4U right now. I also show a clipped $2.50/2 but those are for the bigger sizes. The one on sale is the single meal 9 oz. size. I suppose if you load both digital cpns. you’d get 2 for 99c. 1 FREE and 99c for the 2nd? (I may play it safe and just use 1 paper coupon and get it for FREE)

Jill- I still have that high value coupon clipped to MyMixx for $8/2 Clairol touch ups. How will that play with the new BOGO (up to $7.99) coupon we just got in paper and is available to print? I have 2 BOGO coupons plus that hot e-cpn. I checked last time at Jewel and my permanent touch up boxes are $7.49. My mind freezes up when I try to put the best deal together using their policy you can use a coupon on the FREE item! Help! Thanks!!!
assassin says
per my understanding of policy:
– you can use a cents-off manufacturer’s coupon on the free-granting (but not free-grantee) item(s) in a manufacturer’s BNG1F.
– an $8-off-2 “spans” two items, meaning neither of those can then be granted free by a mfg cpn. but they can still be the “first” part in a BNG1F.
combining that, you should be able to buy 4, get 2 free (presumably the cheapest 2), and get $8 off the remaining two.
now, whether the registers and/or the employees will cooperate is a whole other deal.

i dunno the terms with this coupon, but an issue i’ve seen with BOGOs (at least MyMixxes) at jewel is that even if the coupon text reads “Buy Specific Item Type X, Get Specific Item Type Y Free” (as opposed to “Buy any item of Type X or Y, get one free”), the system will insist on granting you the cheaper item free — even if Item Type Y is more expensive than Item Type X. (this also happened at walmart with a paper coupon on yogurts a couple years back.) hopefully, that’s not at play here.
now, a friendly bug i’ve seen with mymixx mfg BOGOs (or straight-up mymixx mfg freebies) is that when awarding you the item’s cost to make it free, it gives you the full, pre-sale cost of the item, allowing for a moneymaker! a downside in a related bug is that running into negative cost territory on my transaction stifled a simple sale discount. that is, i scanned the freebie=>moneymaker, then scanned unrelated aunt millie’s english muffins that were on sale (as confirmed by an aisle scanner), and while an asterisks showed up next to them onscreen, it never performed the sale deduction line — so the muffins were full price. maybe this can be avoided by reordering your transaction so you’re in positive territory when about to scan the freebie, or maybe you just don’t want sale items on the same receipt as the freebie. ANYWAY, i dunno whether the initial, extra deduction friendly bug occurs in the first place with BOGO/Freebie paper coupons, or if it’s just limited to mymixx.

Building on what Assassin said:
– you can use a cents-off manufacturer’s coupon on the free-granting (but not free-grantee) item(s) in a manufacturer’s BNG1F.
– an $8-off-2 “spans” two items, meaning neither of those can then be granted free by a mfg cpn. but they can still be the “first” part in a BNG1F.
You should be able to buy four. The $8-off-2 should apply to your first two boxes, and under Jewel’s current coupon policy, you can use a manufacturer discount on the first item and use the B1G1F coupon on the second. Whether the register (and cashier) will cooperate and ring this correctly is the next step. The new registers will not automatically ring this correctly, and you will likely need cashier intervention from a cashier who is very knowledgeable with the store’s coupon policy to correctly input the B1G1Fs.

I just got back from Jewel and the new J4U deals are NOT working at registers! I bought 1 Innovasians 9 oz. meal and used the paper $1/1 coupon and that didn’t take anything off. My receipt shows 99c only because I had the paper coupon, nothing showing for the J4U I had clipped???
I bought the 15 oz baby lotion and that only takes off $1.49 J4U store cpn, making it $1 instead of 49c like the ad shows it should be.
I picked up a FREE box of O Organics 2.1 oz animal crackers I won in Monopoly and that didn’t scan/take off anything. $1 charged to me???
The upside is the eggs came off as FREE and the romaine hearts rang up correctly at 99c. Luckily I knew what I should be paying since I only bought a few items today but this held up the line for 15 mins getting overrides and scanning the screens to see what was the issue. She even called the frozen foods guy to see why the Innovasians meal was not working (she thought it was the wrong variety) So frustrating for all!
I guess I should not shop the 1st morning of the sales…..early bird does not get the worm, you get a head ache!
Hopefully others will have better luck and they will get this fixed soon. Glad I had the sense NOT to try the hair color deal today. Husband forgot his phone at home so he sat in car waiting for me to run in and “test” the deals. Ha! He said I took 45 mins! Slight exaggeration, I am sure.

That’s what I thought: buy 4, get 2 free plus take $8 off the first 2 boxes I am buying. And since the only coupon on the digital app is the $8/2, it should work since I am actually handing them the 2 paper BOGO coupons AND the cashier will have to be efficient enough to manually “OK” each “up to $7.99” free product. I know several cashiers that understand policy! All items are priced the same too, so no issues with that.
I may try next week since there are more days until all those coupons expire and don’t feel like standing there with the crowds of shoppers getting these new J4U deals! Thanks for the reply!

Hi Jill,
You may have said this already somewhere but I couldn’t find, can you use a manufacturer coupon with the just 4u coupon or are those manQ’s? I am having dajavou with our Jewel being a former Dominicks and the Just 4U popping up now. :-) So strange. Anyway, I like it… I hope they continue free items after the launch. Thank you!

Never mind :-)

It’s the perfect week to stock up on Kosher Coke. I can’t wait to see what the JustforU does when I buy a bunch of 2Ls. I have to drive to a Jewish area because my Jewel people won’t order it for me.

Simek’s 22oz meatballs are on sale for $4 thru 4/30, and there’s still a $2 mymixx clippable (good through 4/9)!

“Three Day Sale: Sun-Mon-Tues 3/31 – 4/2/19
Rice Krispies Treats 8 ct., Post Pebbles Cereal 11 oz., or Honey Bunches of Oats 13-18 oz. are $1.88 each, limit 6”
there’s a mymixx still clippable:
“Save $1.00 when you buy ONE (1) Post® PEBBLES™ cereal (any variety, 11 oz or larger) , Exp: 05/04/19”
and until recently, there was a $1.25 clippable for the Peanut Butter Pebbles as well.

“Four Day Sale: Weds-Thurs-Fri-Sat 3/27-3/30/19
Coke product 2-liters are .99 each when you buy in multiples of 4. Limit 8.”
“A 2-liter of your choice of Coca-Cola products are .49 each with JustForU ecoupon, Limit 1”
normally, it’d be somewhat dumb to use that ecoupon during those 4 days. however, another coupon comes into play: a $1-off-4 manufacturer’s coupon for Coca Cola 4-liters (hoping the entire product range, but not sure). buy 4 and pay $0.625 each ($2.50 pre-tax total) — that is, assuming it applies the (store) 49-cent cpn before the mfg one, or at that it “attaches” the mfg to a 99-cent bottle. if it does things in backwards order, you’ll pay $0.6875 per bottle ($2.75 pre-tax total).

Jill- did you use your $1/1 any deodorant J4U coupon on the trial size? Today we found regular size Speed Stick on sale for $1 and both my husband and my accounts had that same coupon to load. We got them FREE and even no tax!
I also have a $1/1 any pasta product on my account that I did not use yet. That should make one box free or 25c. My savvy husband found store brand soup cans for $1 each and we had the $1/1 any J4U to load also making one can free!
I got my 63c Post PB Pebbles today (used $1.25 J4U) and already claimed it on ibotta for 65c. I am loving these deals!

Cali, I should have read this before I went to the store yesterday. I did try the deodorant ecoupon yesterday on a .74 Dove Men travel size deodorant (I forgot to try this last week) and it did NOT work – so despite there being no text restrictions, apparently the travel sizes do not work. I did also get that pasta coupon and used it on a .79 box (Jewel brand) and it was free. I did not see the soup one yet though — will have to look!
