jewel-osco 4-count muffins are B1G1F @ $5.00 . that matches the best price i’ve ever seen on them (short-dated stickers aside).
jewel’s been doing a number of nice deals on store-baked goods recently: the eclairs at $3.00, $2.99, and then B1G1F @ $5.00 two weeks ago; and the 4-count brookies at $2.99 for 2 straight weeks (and limited stores did 4-count brownies at same). the BOGO eclairs is semi-common, but all the other sales are quite rare, with the brookies (and brownies) being a throwback to 3+ years ago.
assassin says
haha; a $2.50 Personalized Price (Limit 1 per day) on the muffins just showed up for me. if it stacks with the BOGO, that’ll be glorious; if it does nothing (beyond letting me purchase less), i’ll curse jewel for taunting me. :P
assassin says
we’ve had varying success on combining P.P.s and BOGO sales:
https://jillcataldo.com/coupon-matchups-jewel-osco-deals-of-the-week-7-31-19-8-6-19/
dunno how much this varies by particular store, the registers (e.g. self-checkout versus manned lane, or when their software was last updated), etc.
definitely interested in hearing results from anyone else who has a Personalized Price.
Calibabydolly says
I looked back at that old post you have here and it DID give me both of those Sabra hummus (combining PP and BOGO) so I’d guess you would get BOTH 4 packs of muffins for $2.50!
The only difference being the muffins are a store brand, but it wasn’t a coupon we were talking about with the hummus, was a PP? Try it at the self check because our store installed new ones (actually put them back in after a few years absence) and it shows as you are scanning what the amount is on the screen.
I have another question about PP and store sales/promotions. I have a PP for Doritos at $1.49 and Ritz crackers at $1.49 and right now the deal is buy 2 get 3 FREE! It says below in ad
“equal or lesser value”, so if I scanned in my 2 PP cheap prices first, would it give me the next 3 free? I’m afraid it would give me those 2 as the free ones since they are not the highest price BUT it scans in at reg. price before it deducts your discount, as heard on audible @ self check.
I’m afraid to try!
Another item to note, I bought the 4 Kellogg’s products today and they include a ton of non listed products for the 99c price! Check your shelf tags. I was able to get the Protein bars and the various flavors of Special K cereals.
Also, this week and last I have some awesome PP, such as what I listed above and 50c Signature Select pasta, 49c Kraft mac n cheese & 49c 2 liter of 7up….the list goes on! My husband doesn’t have these in his but I have been playing Monopoly and getting these items using my number….anyone else getting awesome prices in J4U? I thought I was lucky getting these offers but my neighbor friend) just won $1000 in Monopoly!!! Isn’t that something!?
assassin says
– yep, the Sabra was a P.P. there was also a digital coupon i mentioned later in the topic, but it wasn’t the focus.
– i’m a long-time self-checker, and the transaction i referenced where the potato chips P.P. + BOGO stacking failed was on such a register. so i’m inclined to try a manned lane this time for the muffins, especially since that’s what you had the hummus success with. at the least, i’ll try a different store location, in case that matters.
– on the chips and crackers, i assume the P.P. is Limit 1 (or 2) per day? if it fails, have them void the transaction, which should add any attempted e-coupon or Personalized Price usages back to your account. have you tried buying the items yet?
– yeah, the Kellogg’s is a great deal, and glad to hear it’s broader. it’s tempting to stack with the cereal types on the 4/4/21-expiring $1-off-2 e-coupon to nab a couple boxes at $0.49. however, if a Special K looks enticing, i might skip that opportunity and pay the “full” $0.99, as i haven’t stocked up on those as recently.
– dang, you got a lot of nice P.P.s. i don’t have that many, or they’re less impressive stuff that i glossed over. i’m definitely interested in hearing the sausage results. one offer i might use is $2.86 on the Signature Select pizza. not the best i’ve ever had, as they’ve given me $2.38 and $2.60s before, but still tempting, especially since i haven’t bought the brand since late February.
Calibabydolly says
I also have a PP this week for the BOGO Jewel brand Italian sausages. My PP is $1.99 (the store price is showing $6.99!) I logged into my J4U acct. and searched for the sausages and BOTH offers show below the sausages! $1.99 and BOGO! I am going to buy them tomorrow and will let you know if they both worked at registers. You could search for the muffins while logged in online to see if they both also show as linked to that product? I think it will work!
Calibabydolly says
I was able to get BOTH packages of sausage for $1.99 at self check this morning! I was even able to get 2 packs of chicken sausage for that price! They are 16 oz.(fancy) packs instead of 20 oz. which it lists on the PP, but it showed them as a qualifying product on website, so I tried it. I did have an issue with $1 off any produce purchase of $1 or higher (like I had last week as well!) but today I bought 3 limes and it did not work. I am guessing it needs to be 1 product, like the head of lettuce I bought last week, which worked fine? They gave me my $1 back at service desk. I am thrilled to get almost $14 worth of meat for $2!!!
I cannot imagine why you wouldn’t get both of your muffins for $2.50. Try it!
*did not try the Doritos Ritz deal yet though. I even have several Monopoly coupons loaded to throw into that mess!?
assassin says
i take it your sausages have no daily limit? my muffins are Limit 1, which is the main source of my concern. if the register decides to grant the freebie to the $2.50 item as opposed to the $5 one, my P.P. will basically have accomplished nothing.
i can’t remember whether my failed potato chips attempt way back in 2019 had a limit. i’m leaning not, but that is a challenge posed here.
Calibabydolly says
The sausage was limit 1! It is now gone from my app. I also have a PP for eggs @ $1.13 a dozen and that one states “unlimited”. I’d rather have more of the sausages. :>)
assassin says
oh, so you got 2 chicken sausages instead of 2 normal sausages?
and Limit 1 period versus 1 per week?! huh; i haven’t seen one of those in awhile.
anyway, glad it worked. it bodes well for my muffin experiment. thanks for the feedback.
assassin says
some fleeting, 1-day overlap combos ending TODAY 3/31:
“$2.50 Signature lunchmeat tubs
7-8oz. Signature lunchmeat tubs are $2.50”
i have a $1 off “Exclusive Top Pick” JustForU expiring 3/31/21.
—-
various Post cereals, including Dunkin’ 11oz varieties, are $2.99 on sale.
there’s a $1.50 off Dunkin’ Caramel Macchiato or Mocha Latte cereals coupon expiring 3/31/21, in both J4U and semi-recently printable coupons.com format.
assassin says
argh, the Dunkin’ printable only ran thru 3/30/21 (printed 3/12/21), for some reason.
assassin says
16oz bags of Green Giant potatoes (kept in Produce, not the Frozen section) are still $3 on sale, through 4/20/21. there’s a $2 store e-coupon available this week, also good through 4/20.
entering last sale week, local stores had the bags, “One…Step…Done!” and “Minute Mashers” varieties alike, blanketed with $1 manufacturer coupons. last week’s excellent e-cpn depleted the paper coupon supply a lot, but i still saw them on a handful of bags at one location on Tuesday night.
stack with the store JustForU, and pay nothing!!
—–
justforu has a $1 e-coupon for 24 fl oz Sucker Punch pickles. i didn’t even bother clipping it at first, because pickles discounted from $5 are still ludicrous. however, at least one location has 1 type on clearance for $2.98.
assassin says
on the Green Giant: oops; the store e-coupon is $2.00 EACH, not $2.00 *off*! i must’ve misread (unless they changed the text; unlikely). so final price with mfg sticky is $1.00; still great, but not free.
Eun says
You didn’t misread it. They did change the text. Under the qualifying products, it still reads $2 off Limit 1. Not sure what the registers will do.
jane says
The Green Giant potatoes are already prepared but are in the produce section? There isn’t an image in “details” on JFU, so I’m not sure what I am looking for. Thanks!
assassin says
they’re in multi-colored stand-up plastic bags (which are sometimes laying down in-store). they’re not prepared; they’re raw potatoes with a chunk of seasoning sitting near the top of the bag’s interior, which gradually releases and spreads around as the bag is heated. spiffy stuff.
assassin says
aha, thanks; it’s nice to know that i wasn’t losing my mind. and good catch on the discrepancy with the linked products.
on a sign first seen in-store on 4/4/21 and verified on 4/5/21, it says “$3.00 sale – $1.00 e-coupon = $2.00 price” (maybe paraphrased slightly), and indicates the offer date range of 3/24/21 – 4/20/21. i have yet to try ringing up a bag. odds are they “corrected” the generous discount (if it was ever available in the first place) by the time this sign went up, though i suppose i should try to buy sooner than later in case they still haven’t.
jane says
I ended up buying them. They rang up first as $3.99, then $3.00 (sale price), then – $1.00 (“J4U Store ecoupon”), to equal $2.00. The other small potato bags were $3.99, so I decided $2 was an okay price because I like this size. Thanks for explaining the seasoning, now I know I can skip that part!
assassin says
Maple Grove Farms pure maple syrup (amber color) 12.5 fl oz is on clearance for $4.48 at at least one location.
Kodiak Cakes fruit syrups are also on clearance, at i think half price for like $4.NN . i forget the size as well, but the 16 fl oz / 473 mL indicated on the manufacturer’s website seems about right.
assassin says
on the Kodiak: verified the size, and the price is $4.98 (from $9.99).
various other syrups are also on clearance. another one that stood out is Log Cabin Original 36oz, at $2.99 (from $5.99).

Following up on the muffins: the BOGO and P.P. stacking worked! (i.e. I paid $2.50 total for 2.) However, I did have to jostle the register to get the full savings by scanning another item afterwards. This was in self-checkout, but at a different store than the infamous potato chip stacking failure of 2019.
The P.P. kicked in on the 1st scanned muffins. Then when scanning the 2nd, I initially got just $2.50 back. I want to say there were 3 register entries after the 2nd muffins themselves: -$2.50 discount, +$2.50 added back, then -$2.50 discount again. What I can’t remember is how many were described as the “CPITEM” (for the P.P., methinks), and how many were a store sale entry (“SC” something, iirc). Think at least 2 were the latter.
Then after scanning another item, I had the full -$5.00 discount applied, and +$2.50 added back. This brought me to the proper $2.50 cumulative price! Again, I don’t remember what the discount and reversal descriptions were. A cellphone camera would’ve come in handy here (or some Adderall).
My scanning order was: Aunt Millie’s English muffins 6-pack, 1st Jewel-Osco muffin 4-pack, 2nd Jewel-Osco muffin 4-pack, Prego Plus pasta sauce, and 2 Chobani Probiotic yogurts (followed by 2 paper coupons for those).
——-
On the subject of the last paragraph:
1) Prego Plus pasta sauces, normally $3.49, are part of the same $2.00 sale as normal Pregos (which are regularly $2.49). If you’re like me and had the “Special Pick” $1 mfg JustForU, it’s a great time to capitalize on it.
2) Chobani Probiotic yogurt 5.3oz/150g is on sale for $1.00 (from $1.39). Multiple stores have $0.75 coupons (shelf dispenser types vary by location) off of this new product line: both the 5.3oz cups and the 6-pack of 4 fl oz bottles. They’re good 3/22 – 5/18/21.
Calibabydolly says
Oh! What kind of muffins did you end up getting? I ended up getting 2 different kinds of chicken sausages (instead of the regular pork ones) in my deal because I thought it would fare better in getting them BOGO. I got spinach/feta & Italian sausage for mine. Having the Feta ones today!
I also got the Chobani probiotic this week and plan on getting 2 more under husbands account today….check your ibotta, I had 75c/2 back and it reset for 50c/2 a few days later! Husbands ibotta has the 75c/2 in his now as well!
Another awesome deal is the Kind energy bar (single) Both of our J4U had $1/1 AND it had 50c/1 in ibotta! Free plus MM on those if they are still on sale for $1. Husbands digital just reset? Mine did not yet?
assassin says
1) i got Raisin Bran and Very Berry. a family member would get Chocolate Chip and Peach the next day, so we’ll probably do a little swapping.
2) no Ibotta here, unfortunately, when they took a perfectly functional app and demanded an “upgrade” to a version that requires an iOS version my iPad cannot install in order to continue using it. i’ve missed out on tons of rebates in these past couple years, which is a shame.
3) the Kind Energy bars weren’t on sale locally as of 4/6/21. but thanks for putting those on my radar. i’d clipped but largely ignored the coupons, as i probably assumed that brand’s bars were even more exorbitant than the $1.69 regular price.
on that note, have you noticed an issue where some JustForUs, particularly but not limited to cases where you have two instances of the same coupon, refuse to apply when they should? the Kind bars, of which i tried buying 2, was the most recent example. what happened:
– rang up two Reese’s Bunny Puffs cereal, stupid $1-off-2 GM e-coupon never applied.
– rang up both Kind Energy bars. no sale, and 2nd $1-off-1 e-coupon bafflingly never applied.
– had employee void the cereals first. NOW the 2nd Kind bar’s coupon applied at the end of the cereals’ reversal register entries!
– had employee void the Kind bars, which iirc generated more register entries than is sensible. (but probably less than the muffins did to arrive at the proper $2.50 total cost.)
this issue happened to me once before. i’m leaning towards it also happening when i had 2 e-coupons for the same brand (but possibly of different face value), though i can’t say for sure.
if you had 2 Kind coupons on a single account, were you able to use both in 1 transaction?
4) did you have to scan something after your second sausage to arrive at the proper $1.99 cumulative cost?
Calibabydolly says
I saw they took the $1 sale price off the Kind Energy bars. $1.69 is the normal (not awesome) price. Keep watching them because they will go back to a dollar! I have never had the EXACT same Kind offer on my J4U. I only have the Kind clusters on mine now. Husbands acct is the same. It should apply both when you have 2 products? Odd!
I did have many other items in that sausage transaction but the only way it made sense to actually SEE the correct discount applied was by total and pay! That transaction did not apply my PP deal of $1off any produce of $1 or more. I went to CS and got that back. I was amazed the rest all applied because I had various Monopoly coupons as well!
That GM cereal deal is a bugger. I had a PP for 99c on any GM cereal (of a certain ounce range) but it would only work on the pictured HONEY NUT CHEERIOS! Why state “any”? I bet it would have worked with another cereal listed on that coupon instead of the bunny one?
