Do you think you could buy 12 Chobani yogurt and use 3 of those $1/4 coupons they have in store from that Chobani flier/booklet right by the yogurt case and they would allow it to be used on the FREE ones? I didn’t see any limit on the deal. If the coupon scans properly, that would bring down the price to $7 for all 12 items or about 58c each!

The last time I tried to use two coupons on a Buy One Get One FREE at Jewel, it worked no problem – this was back at the end of January, and the coupons went through without intervention:

I just read the fine print on that coupon and it says “limit 1 per person” instead of “limit 1 per purchase”. I also checked my J4U and there is still a $1/5 Chobani which expires 4-24 loaded. (my husbands app shows 3 of those coupons loaded to his, all expiring 4-24!) I was thinking of using 3 paper coupons and NOT entering in my number but after reading that limit, I may enter my number and give them 1 paper coupon, bring the cost down to $8 for all 12 yogurt cups. 67c each isn’t a bad price.

i was planning to do: buy 6, redeeming the $1-off-5 mfg e-cpn, and use 2 Flip-specific monopoly $0.50 store paper coupons = $0.50 each
totally forgot about those booklets. 12 yogurts including 1 booklet coupon would bring my average price up to $0.5833 , still very nice.
yeah, they offered a lot of those digital coupons, which would get snapped up quickly. i dragged my feet a little on clipping, and missed at least 1 of them, likely 2.

I already used my 50c/1 Monopoly Flip coupons. Used 1 several weeks ago and after I checked receipt, it never came off. Then last week I used 2 more and those DID come off properly but I also bought a Chobani creamer and handed over 1 of those booklet $1/1 paper coupons and after checking my receipt at home, that never came off! That bugs me because even if you watch the register, some still get jostled around at the end of transaction. People, including cashiers, are not patient right now….rightly so…and it’s not worth haggling over or going back next trip in to CS desk during these trying times. So make sure you get your coupons applied is my advice. Like knowing in your head what the total should be before you check out!

fortunately, i’ll probably be doing self-checkout, and _am_ willing to haggle, something that’s not hard with paper coupon proof right in my hands. what concerns me chronically are the DIGITAL coupons, as no mobile device means i lack proof they even exist, short of coming back with a print-out.

the B1G1F (at $7.99) for 20.75oz Devanco refrigerated gyro kits, advertised last sale week, is continuing through 4/28 at at least 2 local stores. however, boxes are big, so the shelf stock tends to be exhausted rapidly; you might need to ask whether they have more in back.

We don’t have self checks in our store. I waited too long to shop yesterday morning and the store was a zoo! I rushed around in a tizzy, arrows on floor showing one way aisles, lines at check outs way back into the aisles too. I ended up with only 6 Chobani and the e cpn applied correctly. The only other paper manuf. coupon I had was for Truwhip, which the company sent me to print, and the cashier accused me of making a “copy”! (you could clearly see there were dotted lines around the edge of the coupon to clip on, which would NOT be there if I made a copy of my paper coupon)
She asked the head CS lady if this was valid and thank goodness she knew it was legit. I stumbled on some t.p. they had marked 50% off because the package was cut open….and I was making sure that rang up properly. I also had a FREE bagel Monopoly coupon and they only have pre packaged 2 count now, so she had to figure out how to charge that too!
And yes, they always make me pull up the J4U coupon if it doesn’t come off at register. I don’t need some stranger handling my phone right now! Hopefully your digitals come off correctly. Mine did on the Chobani!
About the gyros. We bought them last week and they are good but be warned, they are super GREASY! I microwaved them, but needed to drain the meat on paper towels. Very good though!

i did the chobanis today, with the three coupons described above. i bought 3 Flips and 3 conventional Greeks, using self-checkout, and was running into the same issue as you with the Monopoly coupons. the digital mfg e-cpn subtracted fine. oddly, the freebie in the B5G1F sale itemizes on the register screen starting with “CPITEM”. (it’ll show up normally like a sale on the receipt.) i believe each monopoly cpn attempt produced 4 onscreen entries (besides the +0.01 and -0.01): applying the $0.50 Monopoly discount and kicking out a $1.00 discount (probably the sale; don’t think it was the mfg cpn), then backing out the monopoly discount and re-applying the $1.00 discount.
the employee theorized that too many coupons were attaching to a single item. that damned “CPITEM” entry was causing confusion in this regard, so i had to explain a couple times that it was just a sale entry. she did manually give me the $1 credit.
so what’s probably happening is the monopoly Flip coupon is trying to attach to a freebie item, seeing a supposed “coupon” already attached to it, and then one discount has to be thrown out. and then because the 1st Monopoly cpn is what got discarded, scanning the 2nd such cpn will repeat the same attachment and failure. it’s moronic that when i bought _3_ Flips, they’d insist on applying to the free 1 as opposed to the paid-for 2!
i wonder what would’ve happened had i scanned the 2 monopoly coupons BEFORE scanning the 6th yogurt: assuming they applied correctly upfront, would they retroactively CHANGE their attachment to the B5G1F freebie and replicate the mistake, or just stay put?
i can’t remember the order in which i scanned my yogurts, but am 98% sure 2 of the Flips were first. and there’s a semi-decent chance that the 3rd scan was a flip, but i really dunno. if the registers pay heed to order when deciding the freebie, then it might be best to scan a non-flip as the 6th item, so that the subsequent monopoly coupons won’t try to attach to it.

thanks for the head’s up on the gyros. i might try a few slices in the ol’ convection oven, and compare the result to microwaving.

sometimes they want proof with me on digital coupons that fail to apply, so i’ll come back with a print-out. many other times, they take my word for it, which is nice.
—–
how much is that truwhip coupon for? there’s a .PDF file uploaded to their website in 2012 with no expiration date that you can print over and over, and it’s good for $0.55.

i wouldn’t be surprised if they add self-checkouts to your store in the coming months, if the covid-19 threat indeed persists. one of my local jewels, which to my recollection hasn’t had self-checkout for a long time, if at all, is in the process of adding them.

two JustForUs for $1 off Curly’s BBQ meats expire today 4/25. the current sale of $5.49 (from $5.99) on ~15oz tubs for most of them (Chicken, Pork) is junk, so not worth it at this point. however, at least 2 locations put the BEEF on clearance for $2.99 ! unfortunately, both were out of stock by the time i got there, but it’d be a *grand* final price if you can find it today.
Calibabydolly says
I don’t know if you can scan a coupon (even Monopoly) before the end of the transaction? Otherwise, why wouldn’t they do it, since they are always the problem. When we did have self check outs, they did not allow the customer to scan ANY coupons themselves! One reason I LOVE Meijer’s because they allow us to scan any coupon.
I knew those Chobani Monopoly cpns would cause an issue! I’m kind of glad I haven’t gotten any more!
The Truwhip coupon is $2/1! They sent me an email saying “this is our best coupon” sent to you (I think it was for Easter?) at the beginning of April and I printed it and bought 1 at Jewel 2 weeks ago when the price was $2.79. That coupon did NOT scan and the very nice young man checking asked me “where did you get this coupon?”. I replied the company sent it to me in an email to print. He manually took it off. Then last week they sent me another email saying that the prior cpn had a glitch, but to print this new one and it was correct! So…I did that and that’s the cpn that she accused me of a copy! It did-not-scan again! Well this week it is on sale for $1.99…..so I figured that 1 penny overage was causing the non scan? It IS a PDF and this one expires on 4-30. I “may” print another and pick up another FREE tub….just for all my hassle!

“$1.99 All and Snuggle
All Laundry Detergent 36 oz. or 16-19 ct. Discs or Snuggle Fabric Softener 31.7-32 oz. Liquid, 70-80 ct. Dryer Sheets or 9 oz. Scent Shakes are all $2.99. Use the $1 coupon from the 4/19 RM and pay $1.99. The ad notes that there is a Just For U offer to drop the price – it will likely be a $1 discount as well.”
1) that manufacturer JustForU is indeed for $1.
2) a $1.75 store monopoly e-cpn just appeared for All Free 36oz!
#2 should stack with #1. but if they fail to activate concurrently, it’s worth buying two at these prices.
assassin says
the website isn’t letting me edit that post, so some corrections:
1) the referenced JustForU is actually a *store* coupon. this means that:
a. it won’t stack with the new monopoly coupon.
b. it will stack with the RMN print mfg coupon!
note that for the monopoly cpn, the website is showing Oxi Ultra as an option, in case they run out of Free.
