Ran into interesting scenario today first day of sale with the Cottonelle toilet paper advertised $4.99 if you buy two. I usually buy this when it is $5.00 or less but had no coupons at the time so was only going to buy two. This was at the Crystal Lake store.
When I looked at receipt it showed $4.99 each with another $1.00 off savings taken off (my Mixx not involved here). And to add to the surprise a $2.00 Catalina for buying two so it came to $2.99 each after applying cat. Price shown on receipt was $4.99 less $1.00.
Didn’t waste anytime and went back in and bought four more two at a time so I would get $2.00 off each time. I didn’t test if the Catalina rolled. I was of the opinion that the store had advertantly taken off the extra dollar in error and would soon find this out.
Went to work and was checking coupon.com and lo and behold there is a .50 coupon available. So after work went to the Cary store and paid $3.49 because it was showing a price of $5.99 less $1.00 vs. $4.99.
So just for the fun of it went to the Crystal Lake store and it ended up being $4.99 less $1.00 savings using $.50 coupon price $3.49. Received $2 cat each time I purchased two at a time. Not bad coming out to .21 per roll of quality toilet paper.

OUTSTANDING! Thank you for sharing this. I was not aware of a Cottonelle Catalina until you posted this, but a little searching revealed the info on my friend Jessie’s site, Moola Saving Mom:
8/7/16 – 9/4/16
Buy 2 and get a $2 Catalina
Buy 3 and get a $3 Catalina
She’s got the alert up for Harris Teeter, but clearly it’s working at Jewel-Osco too! I will update the deal and my Catalina list. Thanks again and congrats on your deal!

Followup: Went to Crystal Lake on Thursday morning and was going to purchase 3 to get $3 Cat. However, it was ringing up only two with the $4.99 price less $1.00 and not on the third. So when doing this only purchase two at a time. I’m sure I would have received $3 Cat but wasn’t getting that extra “mystery” $1.00 off.
Coupon Maven says
it’s definitely worth doing them two at a time instead of three because the store’s sale price is a “Buy 2.”
I am going to try to get to my store today and do this deal! :)

My basement is going to have a wall of toilet paper again reminiscent of the times Dominicks had them on sale for $5.00 and I could stack coupons, etc. It may look a lot like your original wall of diapers lol
Coupon Maven says
Ha! Those were indeed the days. I remember the year that we had a lot of rain and a lot of people’s basements were flooding. My husband joked that he knew ours would be okay because we had all the diapers stored down there :)
Hey — it IS a great deal. Stock up!

Crystal Lake store on Friday 8/12 deal still working at $3.99 with $1 instant savings

I went to the Algonquin Jewel today, and I didn’t have as much luck — the Cottonelle is ringing up at $5.99 and $4.99 after the instant. I also didn’t get the Catalina — and the Cat should have printed because I got several coupons and the Catalina for the Apple & Eve juice boxes in the same transaction..! I will have to contact Catalina, but I will try Huntley next…
Coupon Maven says
Tried at Huntley – got the Catalina but it rang up $5.99 – $1 = $4.99 per Cottonelle. Something special must be going on at Crystal Lake!

The real reason I came here was to alert you about the Jolly Time coupon in the 6-12 SS. Mine had an expiration date of 8-14 and NOT 8-4 like Coupon Tom shows. This is for 60c/1 box. This makes those boxes only 40c! Hurry and use those before Sunday. I hear we are getting a new 50c/1 coupon in the 8-14 SS, so more 50c popcorn. I stocked up on these since they sent me some awesome coupons for $2/1 down to $1/2 values, staggering expiration dates. I think this is because I signed up on their site for email? I was going to get some of those freebies off their site but never got around to sending in for them. I also bought 2 bags of Fresh Express spinach and used the new Big Book coupon and it scans in fine. (We have had this discussion over on Mashupmom about the word blends and she thinks all their coupons have this wording) Anyway, I also had some $1.50/2 and 75c/1 coupons I printed off some other place, could have been in an email they sent me about Weight Watchers because those had to be the “Healthy Pop” kind. I got 9 boxes of Jolly Time and 2 bags of spinach for $1.92 out the door! Oh, and some of the boxes still have FREE Redbox codes in them!!!
Coupon Maven says
Thank you for the heads-up on the Redbox codes on some of the Jolly Time! I have found them at four different stores and am almost embarrassed to share how many boxes of popcorn (and free movie rentals!) we have now. I had four inserts from the 6/12 SS, I printed two copies of each $1-off-2 from their site for another Jolly Time trip, and then more papers today..?!
We are sufficiently well-stocked for many future movie-and-popcorn nights :)
PS: We got a NEW .60 Jolly Time coupon today in the 8/14 SS!

I’ve been enjoying the $10 off $100 Visa Gift Cards on MyMixx.
We’ve had Visa & MasterCard deals like this earlier this summer.
I hope they keep them coming!
That’s basically free money whatever is left after the service fees.
It reappeared again about a week ago & is available.

Hello, I am new to your site – thanks for all that you do! I am taking up couponing again after a long hiatus and your lists of Chicagoland stores and deals are so helpful.
I wanted to comment that the Cottonelle toilet paper Catalina did print out for me at the St. Charles Jewel. I bought the double rolls.
Also, I bought Dole sugar free fruit bowls, on sale for $2, with a .75 coupon. I got a Catalina for $1.25/3. Not the greatest coupon, but good through November, so it may be helpful if you really want the fruit bowls when the current coupons have expired.
A few other deals I thought might be helpful to your readers:
Red Baron pizza is on sale for $3. In my Jewel, all of the Classic Crust, 4 Cheese variety had a $1/1 peelie. Combine with a .25 frozen pizza rebate from Ibotta, and I paid $1.75!
Hungry Jack pancake mix is on sale for $1.99, and the syrup is $2.49. Ibotta has a .50 rebate on the mix, and .75 on the syrup. When you buy both, they give you a Hungry Jack bonus of .50. Final price was $2.73 total or $1.37/ea.
Corn is 3/$1 as you noted, plus there is a .25 Ibotta bonus, making it 3/.75.
Finally, the Blue Bunny novelties are on sale for $3.50, and there is a MyMixx coupon (exp. 8/15!) for $1/1, making these $2.50.
Thanks again for your site!
