a 1-day freebie (wtf?!) store e-coupon:
“FREE
Coca-Cola with Coffee
12-oz. can. Limit 1.
Expires: 09/01/21”
those who don’t mind being treated like a trained seal (or live really close to a jewel-osco) will be semi-handsomely rewarded!
while you’re in there, pick up the other following freebies:
1) store e-coupon:
“FREE
Mediwiper Hand Sanitizer Wipes
80-ct. Limit 1. While supplies last.
Expires: 09/07/21”
2) store e-coupon:
“FREE
Pro Sanitizer Hand Sanitizer
2-oz. Limit 1. While supplies last.
Expires: 09/07/21”
3) a rare manufacturer’s Freebie e-coupon appeared 4 or 3 days ago:
“FREE Air Wick Scented Oil Warmer
Expires: 09/18/21”
the coupon icon shows a single pack, but the only linked item is a twin pack, on sale for $4.99 (Original Price $5.99).
note that if this malfunctions like BNG1F and iirc outright Freebie e-coupons have done for awhile now, it will grant you the full, PRE-SALE price. so have something else in your basket to offset the $1.

Thanks for tip on the FREE Air Wick Scented Oil Warmer. It worked just like you said, giving $1.00 overage.

My store has been out of the free sanitizers for over 2 weeks now. I did get the free coke w/ coffee but if you miss it today at Jewel, there is an ibotta offer for the same only at walmart! Also at most stores is a free after ibotta $1.98 rebate for a 20 oz. bottle of mango Pepsi! I haven’t tried it yet

the Nature Valley and Fiber One bar sale this week has a key change, in that the $1.77 price point includes Protein bars (which in turn includes Packed Sustained Energy bars); last week, these were $2.49 after mix-and-match. rare to see these items this cheap.
besides the normal $0.50-off-2 e-coupons (1 expiring 9/14/21, 1 10/14/21), there’s a “Special Pick” $1-off-2 expiring 10/31/21. i’ve also been seeing a lot of these boxes clad with $1-off-2 yellow paper coupons (expiring like end of February or March 2022), though that may well change as the sale week wears on.
i remember kicking myself a handful of months back over not acquiring the Nature Valley Packed Sustained Energy bars at $1.24 ($2.99 sale – $1.75 HV e-cpn), so this is a nice redemption.

in related news, there’s a One-or-Many offer at coupons.com/cash-back (the successor to SavingStar, which they acquired and shut down); it’s for $4-off-20 General Mills snacks, good through 10/31/21.

store e-coupon:
“$1.00 off
O Organics Frozen Dinner Bowls
9.10-oz. Limit 1.
Expires: 09/05/21”
one location had a handful (now 3 left) of Unwrapped Grilled Chicken Burrito, 9.1oz, on clearance for $2.48. no shelf tag, which worked out grand for me. another location had like 1 left of i forget which item — think it was different, as in a darker / non-orange font, but i can’t be sure — for the same price.
—–
one location has two Healthy Choice 6oz wraps, regularly $2.99, on clearance. one type (i forget which) is an unimpressive $2.48. the Shiitake Chicken is a much nicer $1.48.
—–
manufacturer’s e-coupon:
“Save $1.00
on ONE (1) Box of SUPERPRETZEL Soft Pretzels
Expires: 09/29/21”
the 13oz, 6-count Original Fully Baked Soft Pretzels and the 9oz Softstix Cheese Filled Soft Pretzel Sticks are on a nice $2.50 sale. pay $1.50 final.
the 15-count original is a decent $5.99, which works out to $2.00 for a 6-pack equivalent post-coupon. however, the 36oz weight matches up with a 16.63 pretzel quantity — did they pile in more salt per pretzel?
anyway, an alternative on coupons is a $1 printable (redplum!?) reached from the manufacturer’s website. (i haven’t tried printing it yet.)
—–
no coupon here, but a great deal: jewel-osco fudge or caramel iced eclairs, 3-count, are B1G1F @ $5.
—–
Florida’s Natural 59 fl oz lemonades are on sale for $2.00, and have a new $1 coupon in justforu and coupons.com printable formats. pay $1 !

curious changes to the JustForU Rewards section:
– good = LOTS more to choose from
– possible bad = the department-wide and store-universal “cash” options, are clippable only through 9/6/21! the more item-specific options are clippable for the full month. i really hope they’re not fazing out the general types!

frozen items from last week:
“the local store has 2 types of Smuckers Uncrustables on clearance. i think it’s BBQ Chicken Bites and Ham & Cheese Roll Ups. one is $2.98, and i forget the other price. if you clipped the $1 e-coupon expiring 10/14/21, now’s the time to use it!”
to verify: they’re both $2.98. normally, the roll-ups are $1 more than the bites, so the former’s clearance discount is steeper.

Signature Select and Breyers ice cream, 1.5 Qt / 48 fl oz / 1.42 L, are buy 1 get 1 free, exact item only. (the signature @ $3.99, and breyers @ $5.99.)
on the breyers, there are currently 2 mfg e-coupons clippable:
– $0.50 off 48 fl oz tub, expiring 9/18/21
– $1 off tub or carbsmart pint, expiring 11/13/21
they’ve been offering a lot of the latter, larger one over the weeks; i currently have *3* clipped. if you have more than one, and both actually kick in (as is permissible per jewel coupon policy), pay $2/each final for 2! or if you were dozing or already used the other $1 coupons, and are reliant on the 50-center, pay $2.25/each final for 2.
mariano’s was churning out $1-off-1 and $2-off-2 catalinas ~2-3 weeks ago, so that’s a paper alternative, for people who shopped (or scavenged) there. (on that subject, mariano’s final, post-coupon price then of $1.49 was insane…)
Calibabydolly says
On the Breyers ice cream, there is a paper coupon in the 8-22 Save insert as well. We just tried this deal as my husband had a “personalized price” of $3 for one of the Breyers and he had (1) $1/1 digital clipped to his acct. We figured he’d pay either $3 or $2 for the first one and get the second FREE per the store sale going on now. Wrong! The first rang up @ $2 but after the 2nd rang up the price jumped to $8!!! It would be actually 2 bucks cheaper to not even clip or enter in your number! Insane. We called over the cashier (self check lane) and she went to look in the ad and decided the register was correct? My husband put the 2nd back and we paid $2 for the 1 ice cream. But thanks to your savvy find….we got the Air Wick and it does give $1 overage! Actually after the 39c tax, we paid $1.39 for both the ice cream and the air wick! still awesome in the end!
assassin says
did you try scanning another, unrelated item after the two ice creams to jostle the register?? this is something i preach constantly for BOGO sales plus e-coupons. :P
(i’d perhaps even scan something before the ice creams as well, just to pad your basket subtotal, in case the register’s doing some weird intermediate math: e.g. temporarily applying more than 1 e-coupon if you have multiple clipped.)
at this juncture, i’d consider visiting the service desk to pick up your second, should be free ice cream. preferably when someone else is on duty. proof that you paid for 1 and didn’t leave the store with a 2nd should arguably be enough.
was the Personalized Price Limit 1? as i can attest to from a few months back with Jewel-Osco muffins 4-packs, that *shouldn’t* matter with a proper jostling. however, it’s _potentially_ an obstacle or complicating factor.
Calibabydolly says
I believe it was limit 1 but it’s gone off his app now. He was going to buy some sweet corn with his order but didn’t want to add too much since he knew how much this “should” ring up. Ha! With this new app upgrade, it takes forever to load the details of the offer and we just wanted to make sure it was actually a personalized price instead of an advertised price about the BOGO deal. As soon as the register denied him his free ice cream, 2 of the regular cashiers (1 who works CS desk) both looked over and listened as to make sure she wasn’t letting us get away with something FREE it seemed!? We have had MANY issues with J4U deals not coming off and I actually think they think we are scamming them! I hate being made out to be doing something criminal in that store! I am happy with the deal but yes I agree he WAS entitled to that 2nd ice cream for FREE!
Calibabydolly says
Somehow we all missed the limes for 20/$1 right on the front page above the watermelon!

Daisy cottage cheese with fruit, 5.3oz is on sale for $1.25 thru 9/28/21. if you’d clipped this mfg justforu:
“SAVE $1.00
on any TWO (2) Daisy Brand Single Serve Cottage Cheese items
Expires: 09/30/21” ,
now’s a good time to use it.
—
another mfg digital coupon:
“SAVE $0.55
on any TWO (2) cans of Bush’s Variety Beans 15-16oz (Excludes Organic Beans, Chili Beans and Baked Beans)
Expires: 09/30/21”
Bush’s Beans are on sale for $1 thru 9/28/21.

“the local [stores have 5] types of Life Cuisine on clearance for $2.48:
– Riced Cauliflower Tahini Chicken Bowl (low carb lifestyle)
– Beef & Chorizo Taco Bowl (high protein lifestyle)
– Riced Cauliflower Chipotle Sausage Bowl (low carb lifestyle)
– Greek Style Chicken Feta Bowl
– Meatless Meatballs (made with Spinach & Ricotta) Pasta Bowl.
there are $0.50-off-1 coupons.com and justforu (expiring 10/9/21), as well as a $1-off-3 “Special Pick” e-coupon (expiring 11/11/21), should you run out of the superior first one.
pay $1.98 final.”
this item was lacking a tag at at least one location, but based on another method, i believe it to be clearance as well: Korean Style BBQ Beef Bowl (High Protein Lifestyle) . haven’t yet verified in-store.
the method? browse and search Jewel-Osco’s Instacart.com storefront! the prices there are generally higher than what you’ll see in-store (as they disclose upfront), with exceptions for things like 2/$8 Connie’s Pizza sales, for whatever reason. this inflation extends from regular prices to sales to clearances alike. however, you can still get a pretty good idea of what’s on clearance by comparing its price relative to peers’.
for instance, most Life Cuisines are currently at a regular price of $5.19 there (versus $4.49 in store), while the clearance ones are $2.89 (in contrast with $2.48 in store).
using that website also showed me that more Lean Cuisines (usually bowls) were on clearance than i realized. combine those with $2-off-5 justforu or coupons.com printable (expires 10/9/21), or $2.25-off-5 “special pick” justforu (expires 10/12/21). (note that the justforus are mis-linked to only include bowls, because somebody is a flake. for normal lean cuisines, you’ll need the paper.)
for that matter, 2 Smart Ones are apparently on clearance:
– Salisbury Steak with Onion Gravy & Macaroni & Cheese, 9.5 oz
– Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli Florets & Creamy Alfredo Sauce, 9.25 oz
based on the InstaCart price of $1.99, i’ll guess they’re $1.58 in-store.
and 3 Stouffer’s Bowl-Fulls:
– Philly Cheese Steak Mac & Cheese, 14 oz
– (Mac-Fulls) Chicken Mac and Cheese Broccoli Bowl, 14 oz
– Classic Pub Meatballs & Mashed Potatoes Bowl, 14 oz
they’re $3.09, compared to $2.68 in-store. i know i saw the Philly Cheese Steak in a physical store, but dunno on the others.
and 4 Birds Eye items shown on probable clearance:
– Meatless Be’f Lasagna, 10.5 oz ($2.29 from regular $4.09 there). i also saw it in-store (at like $1.88).
– Steamfresh Veggie Made Spaghetti Style with Olive Oil Frozen Pasta, 10 oz ($2.69 from reg. $5.19)
– Beef & Broccoli Bowl, 9 oz ($2.29 from reg. $4.09)
– Veggie Spirals, with Ginger Soy Sauce, Carrots, 10 oz ($2.69 from reg. $5.19)
others:
– about 5 Marie Callender’s dinner/entree items
– 2 Stouffer’s Family Size entrees. this one gets interesting with the jewel-osco BOGO (breadsticks) e-coupon arriving next week. will the 2 clearance items, which trounce the ad price of $7.99, be linked to the e-coupon as well?!?
… it’s hard to know the answer to that last question without trying the actual purchase, because jewel-osco is chronically crappy about showing ANY clearance items (with the usual exception being many seasonal clearances) on their website. that’s why i had to turn to instacart.com in the first place. :P it’s ridiculous that the store’s own website isn’t an usable resource for the store’s own prices.
——
another brand’s clearance seen in-store (and at least 1 on insta-cart) is Hungry-Man, two of the bowls:
– Double Chicken Bowls, Boneless Fried Chicken, 15 oz (with macaroni & cheese)
– Double Chicken Bowls, Chicken Bacon Ranch, 15 oz (with mashed potatoes)
these were $2.78 in-store (and not labelled such at all locations!), from regular of like $4.99 or $4.79. compare to $5.79 ==> $3.19 on Instacart.
