there’s an e-coupon for B1G1F on the Ham & Swiss variety of Combo Pack. it looks like a store coupon to me; if so, you should be able to use a manufacturer coupon on the non-free one, bringing the average package cost to $1 to $1.25 (depending on coupon used).
———
Perdue Short Cuts, pre-cooked chicken (available in Roasted or Grilled form, and maybe fajita strips or diced at other locations?) in 9oz bags, are on individual sale for $3.49, still in the B5S$5, and have a new $1 coupons.com printable. $2.65/lb unit cost!

“Four Day Digital Downloads: Thursday-Sunday:
…
Hillshire Farm 12-14oz. Lit’l Smokies are $2.29. Use the .41 Mariano’s 5X ecoupon and pay $1.88.”
Ropes, same sale price, are also included. supposedly so are normal links, but my usual store apparently doesn’t carry them, so they’re not in the website itemization.

“Four Day Digital Downloads: Thursday-Sunday
…
Sargento 7-8oz. cheese slices are $2.79. Use the $1 Mariano’s 5X ecoupon and pay $1.79.”
given that basically all of these 5x weekend e-coupons are store coupons, you should be able to stack with the 1/26 SmartSource’s $0.50-off-2.
Coupon Maven says
Assassin, how do we know (for sure) that the 5X coupons are store and not manufacturer? I go to Mariano’s about twice a month, and I’m still getting up to speed. Of course, they say they are manufacturer coupons…
assassin says
1) if you hit “Finish & Pay”, it tabulates coupon and mix-and-match (e.g. B5S$5) savings, displaying these new entries on the left side of the screen underneath the list of items. store coupons will say “SC” and manufacturer will say “MC”. like with Jewel, you’re not locked into paying once hitting this button; you can buy more stuff and/or scan paper coupons. “SC” and “MC” also show up on the receipts, which are admittedly too late for anything besides verification (unless you go to the service desk to post-apply a paper coupon, and hope they follow their own policy properly). now, all of what i just said is based on using Self-Checkout, which certainly makes observing and reacting to things easier. but you can probably ask a cashier to do “Finish & Pay” as well.
another handy yet terse display thing is that mix-and-match (e.g. B5S$5) participating items will get a “<+" to the right of their name onscreen and on receipts.
as for how i know the 5X are store, it’s uncertain in advance, given that Mariano's website doesn't actually label their e-coupons either way. however, two reasons/clues, neither written in stone:
a. lack of manufacturer remit address fine print almost always means Store Coupon at this chain. (and often so at Jewel, but that's iffier; i've seen Danimals mfg e-cpn leave off that print at one point, for instance.)
b. personal success trying stacking at the register. with store digital coupons and manufacturer digital coupons, or store digital coupons and manufacturer paper coupons alike; more of the former combo so far. success stories include:
– Annie's Bunny Grahams on 1/27/20, posted in last week's topic.
– DiGiorno's rising crust pizza on 12/1/19.
– Chobani Gimmies multi-packs twice now: 10/5/19 and 1/10/20.
– Dannon Light & Fit Greek (an example of mfg being paper [printable]) on 1/10/20.
– Quaker Chewy bars (another paper mfg'er cpn [peelie]), [EDIT: on 11/1/19].
– [EDIT: added:] Gerber 2nd Foods tubs on 12/1/19. but i think the mfg printable was whining about not enough items or something, so it needed employee override. i strongly suspect that had i remembered to clip the mfg e-coupon, it would’ve worked right off the bat, but who knows.

2) "Of course, they say they are manufacturer coupons…"
as in the weekend 5X ones? where'd they say that?
Coupon Maven says
I meant “they” as in the store staff, who I asked when I first started shopping at Mariano’s! :/ Thank you for the very detailed explanation :) I will add the Sargento coupon above.
assassin says
no prob… let’s hope i’m right. :)
whoa; glad i looked at Gerber 2nd Foods tubs in the process of posting that transaction date. eight of them are supposedly on clearance (or insane sale) for $0.50 (from $1.49): Apple, Banana, Carrots, Carrot Sweet Potato and Pea, Sweet Potato, Pear, Butternut Squash, and Apple Strawberry Banana. and there’s a $2.50-off-6 manufacturer e-coupon expiring 1/31. pay under $0.09 per item (which consist of two 4oz tubs)!
while the website often has false positives versus what’s on the store shelf, the chance of at least ONE of these EIGHT still being in-stock is pretty high.
if this pans out, it’ll be the ultimate case of dumb luck! though i probably have no other reason to drive to Mariano’s before 2/2 or 2/4. so i might have to live vicariously through whoever does buy these.
assassin says
re the Gerber: all 8 are in-stock locally, and 7 have the proper $0.50 shelf tags. it’s a sale, ending 2/11/20, which surprises me that they’d discount a non-clearance item by by 2/3 (!).
the odd thing is: the e-coupon was actually a *store* offer. i’m following up on a coupon that expired yesterday and didn’t have stacking opportunities anyway, because:
– the identical $2.50-off-6 Coupons.com printable i used on 12/1/19 was obviously a manufacturer coupon.
– i could swear the digital form back then was mfg as well.
– the identical Jewel JustForU that also expired 1/31/20 was a mfg cpn.
i’m thinking that Kroger/Mariano’s classified this one wrong.
another time i was suspicious was a couple or so months back, when a marianos e-coupon for Werther’s caramels that looked to be a higher value form of a paper mfg cpn running concurrently/overlappingly turned out to be a Store one. it wasn’t impossible, but it defied logic.
while i doubt that the 5X weekend e-coupons are being misclassified as “store” en masse, these Gerber and Werther’s discrepancies do open the door to operator error as a factor in categorization.
assassin says
anyway, for the remainder of that Gerber $0.50 sale (thru 2/11), there’s a lesser but still great, new Coupons.com option: “SAVE $1.50 off ANY SIX (6) Gerber Puree 2-Pack Tubs”.
assassin says
(re Frigo:)
“there’s an e-coupon for B1G1F on the Ham & Swiss variety of Combo Pack. it looks like a store coupon to me; if so, you should be able to use a manufacturer coupon on the non-free one, bringing the average package cost to $1 to $1.25 (depending on coupon used).”
a couple unexpected things on the e-cpn:
1) it’s Manufacturer, so no stacking.
2) it deducts $3.99, the full sale price BEFORE B5S$5, which is making the second pack subzero. a pair comes out to $1 each without any paper coupon!
assassin says
re Pepperidge Farm Goldfish at $1.97 before B5S$5:
at least one store has the Epic Crunch Ranch Baked Tortilla Snacks, as well as Honey BBQ in same line, both 5.5oz, at $1.53 individual clearance.
Coupon Maven says
Good to know – thanks!
assassin says
re the Nuprin: there’s a notice atop their website:
“To our valued customers: In this week’s circular, valid January 29th – February 4th, we advertised Nuprin Ibuprofen 24 ct Tablets as a Free Friday Download. Unfortunately, due to supply issues, we are unable to fulfill this offer. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
yeah, anybody who’s tried to clip it saw this already, but i was bored. :P
Coupon Maven says
I totally forgot to clip it yesterday… and when I typed it up, I also thought “They still make Nuprin?” I don’t think I have seen advertising for it in years..!
assassin says
“$1.88 Hot or Lean pockets
2ct. Hot or Lean pockets are $1.88 each”
at least 3 local stores list 2-3 types on clearance:
1) Hot Pockets High Protein Four Meat & Four Cheese Pizza Sandwiches = $1.72
2) Lean Pockets Italian Style Meatballs & Mozzarella Sandwiches = $1.72
3) Lean Pockets Philly Steak & Cheese Sandwiches = $0.57 or $1.72
i looted four of #3 from a local store (@ $0.57). it helps that there was no clearance tag up, not even a SALE tag — in fact, the $2.29 price tag was apparently last updated *7/17/18*. LP Philly Cheesesteak is the Item That Time Forgot!
what also “helps” is that none of the 4 boxes was visible to a normal observer from the front of the case; i had to dig around for them. forgetting to bring gloves was a big mistake! my fingers are still sore and reddish 9 hours later. but it’s worth it, i say!! the pain never disappearing entirely told me they were still attached and not necrotic.
this Hot Pocket and Lean Pocket section is a mess at my usual store. even the slots that *look* orderly often have the wrong item with a given tag. but the chaos staves off my competition for acquiring the things, and probably enabled the clearance price to fall this low in the first place.
it’s likely i nabbed ’em all, but given the disorder, and there being a bunch of Lean Pockets in the back of a Hot Pocket Ham & Cheese row that i didn’t investigate (self-preservation, by this stage), there could be more.
a tip: if you’re able to find multiple items, it’s worth splitting the purchases into multiple transactions, to introduce chance of a Catalina coupon. i failed to do this, and was reminded after my 4-count triggered a $1.50-off-5 Catalina.
assassin says
in-store, i see 2 other Lean Pockets at $1.72 close-out (items absent from the website):
4) Chicken, Broccoli & Cheddar (Pretzel bread)
5) Roasted Turkey, Bacon & Cheese (Pretzel bread)
this product line’s really getting pared back everywhere! Target has minimal, and Walmart doesn’t carry many, either. even the relative sanctuary of Jewel-Osco has less LPs than i remember.
assassin says
“$1.99 DiGiorno pizzas
17.2-31.6oz. Original or Pizzeria Style – $3.99
– $2 off – 1/26 RM1 (GREAT PRICE!)
– $1.50 off – 12/8 RM (exp. 1/31!)”
in the RM1 in the 1/26 _Inside Shopper_ flyer, it’s a $2-off_2_. can you double-check the Trib?
i realize Inside Shopper usually has pared down versions of SS and RM in that there are FEWER coupons, but didn’t think the coupons’ *values or terms* changed… though i can’t rule it out.

there’s a new high-value digital manufacturer coupon for $2 off any Angel Soft product. this includes the 4-count Double Roll (234 sheets per roll), currently on sale for $2.49 (from $3.19).
Coupon Maven says
It’s definitely a $2 coupon in the Trib – I already used ours for cheap pizza last week.
