the vast majority of what i posted here:
https://jillcataldo.com/coupon-matchups-marianos-deals-of-the-week-8-4-21-8-10-21/
holds up this week, a couple lapsed dates on offers aside.
to follow up on a couple things:
1) “‘Kroger Big Wheels ice cream sandwiches, 24 fl oz 6-packs, are on sale for $2.50 (from $3.49) and part of the Buy 5 at the local store, per the website. if correct, pay $1.50 final. i mention this because the current and next ad list them as an inferior $2.99 – $1 = $1.99 .’
[…]
$2.50 – $1.50 is indeed the shelf tag for these items (both Vividly Vanilla and Chocolate Chip Cookie) as of a night 8/11/21 visit. note that the website lists Vividly Vanilla twice: both are 108 mL or 4 fl oz volume per sandwich, but one is 70g mass and the other 60g, per the side nutritional panel. sneaky downsizing (filling with air)?!?”
i bought the Chocolate Chip Cookie variety, and the downsizing is even worse: 60g from the *73g* on the box i’d purchased back in May 2019! the current batch doesn’t strike me as particularly airy, so i’m wondering whether Kroger also shrunk the volume and forgot to mention it on the front. still, they do taste good, basically as i remember them. (i consumed the 2019 box over a year later, in 2020, so there is a little memory left.) they look like they might have gotten a little smaller, but i can’t say that with confidence. less messy to eat than chocolate wafer ice cream sandwiches, anyway. :P

2) to Calibabydolly regarding that now-expired Colgate $6 e-coupon:
mine worked grand again, charging me a final price of -$0.01, the same result as when i bought one on 7/6/21. the current time was the Colgate Renewal Enamel Fortify Whitening Toothpaste, 3 oz, with green on the tube. last time was Colgate Renewal Cool Mint Gel Whitening Restoration Toothpaste, 3 oz, with blue on the tube.
i’d run into your basic problem in the past, where an e-coupon that would have taken an item price negative refused to activate, as opposed to truncating as i would have preferred.
i noticed last year how a B1G1F manufacturer’s e-coupon for Frigo Cheeseheads meat and cheese combo sticks deducted the sale price BEFORE Buy 5 or More, Save $1 Each price, thus giving a bonus beyond how it should have worked. that suggests that e-coupons, at least of the manufacturer’s type, ignore the mix-and-match sale when determining the price from which they’re subtracting. in this case, it’d mean that the Colgate offer sees a $6.99 cost, and happily proceeds.
i know that some of us have had different results on e-coupons between two Jewel locations, *the same chain*. so even though they are owned by Kroger, Mariano’s (or some of their stores) could have divergence from the parent. annoying, yes (both to experience, and to try and make sense of it). it’s dumb that the service desk didn’t seem to grasp that a “no overages” policy means you shouldn’t get the *extra* money, not be deprived of ALL of it! as it stood before your appeal to corporate, you were being penalized for buying an item that costs $6.99 as opposed to one that costs $7.00 (or $7.50 or even $8). glad they eventually ponied up the $6.
did you have a mobile device (or print-out) with to prove you possessed the e-coupon? i ask because i own no such gadgetry, just PCs, so rely on print-outs or kind employees taking my word for things.

3) “based on website pricing, i suspect that the local store is clearing out the following items:
– Chobani with Oatmeal, 5.3oz, 2 types = $1.69 and $1.89 (from $1.99 regular)
– Dannon Oikos Blue, 3 types = $1.23 (discounted from $1.29)
– Chobani Willamette Raspberry Less Sugar Greek Yogurt, 5.3 oz = $1.03 (discounted from $1.29)
all but the 3rd of those is a feeble discount; i’m basing my theory of clearances on these all being reduced some multiple of 5% from regular price.”
all of them are already cleared out! dunno how they moved so well at those weak prices (though Oikos Plain had 10/$10.00 shelf tag versus $1.23). wonder if any got special clearance stickers slapped on them?
“it’s a shame on the chobani oatmeals, as those would often go on $1.00 _normal sales_ (50% off; walloping most clearances at the chain), and i really liked the product. jewel cleared the line out months ago, and there’s no indication of walmart, target, or tony’s carrying them. dunno where i’ll get my fix on these going forward.”
guess my best bet is Yoplait Oui, which has 2 oatmeal types at mariano’s, where the brand is currently on sale for $1.33, and has a $1-off-4 e-coupon.

various Kroger pickles at 24 fl oz are on sale for $1.50 discounted from $2.09) thru i believe 9/14/21. however, included with that group is:
Kroger Oval Cut Hamburger Dill Chips – 32 fl oz , $1.50 (discounted from $2.99)
no coupon involved, but doesn’t need one!
—-
a similar grouping involves Grillo’s pickles:
there’s a manufacturer’s e-coupon:
“Save $1.00 on Cold, Crunchy Grillo’s Pickles (Find us in
the refrigerated section!)
When you buy ONE (1) Cold, Crunchy Grillo’s Pickles (Find
us in the refrigerated section!), any variety (12 oz. or
Larger)
Consumer and Retailer: LIMIT ONE (1) COUPON PER PURCHASE
OF SPECIFIED PRODUCT AND QUANTITY STATED. NOT TO BE
COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER COUPON(S).” , Exp. Oct. 31
4 items are 16 fl oz, on sale for $3.99 (discounted from
$4.99). but then there’s this lumped in:
Grillo’s Pickles Fresh Whole Dills, 32 fl oz $3.99
(discounted from $6.99)
as for alternative offers, there’s a Coupons.com Cash Back for $1.50, and they had a printable for same a few weeks ago. (note that the former, which expires 9/3/21, says “Available at Walmart”, but that is fine and dandy per coupons.com’s own words. the latter, expiring 9/4/21, fortunately does not say it; good, because this often gives fits to competing retailers.)
——-
another nice $1 no-coupon deal is Roundy’s low-fat chocolate milk half gallon.
——-
Smart Ones frozen entrees are on sale for $1.25 (thru 8/17/21 per shelf tag), and there’s a $2-off-5 Coupons.com Cash Back (where Mariano’s is an unlisted chain, and thus receipt scan/photo submission).
——-
various Flintstones vitamins are on sale for $5.99 (discounted from $8.59). most of these are also “Buy 5 or More, Save $1.00 Each”, but a couple are not (though sometimes the website underestimates what’s included in-store). and there’s a manufacturer’s e-coupon:
“Save $3.00 on Flintstones or One A Day Kids
when you buy ONE (1) Flintstones or One A Day
Kids multivitamin product, any variety
(60ct or larger)
CONSUMER: LIMIT ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE on
specified product(s), size(s) and quantity
stated. LIMIT OF 4 EXACT SAME COUPONS PER
HOUSEHOLD PER DAY.” , Exp. Sep. 12
there’s also a coupons.com cash back offer (no, they don’t stack) and a printable for same.
pay $1.99 final (or probably $2.99 on a couple types)!
EDIT: there’s also a parallel deal combo on One a Day adult vitamins (which have their own $3 e-coupon, printable, and cash back), except those are $6.99 pre- mix-and-match, so final price is $2.99.
——
Philadelphia Bagel Chips and Cream Cheese Dip – 2.5 oz , is $1.89 (discounted from $1.99), and in the Buy 5 or More, Save $1.00 Each.

I bow before assassin, but here are some other deals. Mariano’s cash back (https://www.marianos.com/savings/cbk/cashback/) is nice, and the Chobani Probiotic Yogurt Drink is a great deal, buy 2 for 3.79 each-$1 for the buy 5 deal, then get $1.50 each on Mariano’s cash back and also submit for ibotta $4.99/2 cash back for a grand total of $2.41 moneymaker on 2. Chobani flips also has ibotta deal, but not a freebie.
Silk oatmilk is $3.49 -$1 buy 5 deal, and there’s a $2 ecoupon (https://www.marianos.com/c/800000012784) for 49 cents net.
Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats Little Bites is $2.99 -$1 buy 5, -$1 ecoupon for 99 cents.
Voortman Bakery Wafers are $1.50 -$1 buy 5, for 50 cents.

Oikos blended greek yogurt $1 -65 cent ecoupon for 35 cents.
Rise Nitro Cold Brew Coffee cans $2, get $1 Marianos cash back each, $1 off 2 ibotta cash back, 60 cents Marianos mailer coupon.

Yes! Idiotic 2 different CS desk ladies at Kroger seemed like they were not even listening to me and had their stock answer ready to spout off! I argued with the lady the last time they had that Colgate high value coupon not coming off properly and explained I am not really getting my Mega sale bonus if they do not honor both the store deal (mega price) and the manufacturer coupon ($6). She said you cannot use BOTH! I do not believe that is in their policy but I was not getting anywhere with either person! They always make me feel I am trying to pull a fast one on them when in fact I am only trying to shop their sales/promotions correctly. They know I have been a regular for eons but they seem to hate us couponers lately! Not much fun anymore.
I actually pulled up that $6 digital both times on my phone (at least Kroger gives free wi-fi) and they each took my phone and tried to find fault in the coupon. Is it expired? Did you clip it? Did you buy the right product/size? Yadda Yadda! So glad the Corporate woman just took my info and looked up my acct. and gave me my $6 without any hassle. She did not even take it off my acct! I was not inclined to go down that road again, so I just let it expire! I was so glad my $6 showed up on my acct and I still have $3 left to spend now!

(Buy 5 Or More, Save $1 Each Sale:)
“$1.49 Blue Diamond almonds
6oz. – $1.99
– $1 off 2 – 6/27 SS”
or there’s a manufacturer’s e-coupon (supposedly) specifically for the new Xtremes product line:
“Buy any 1 Blue Diamond XTREMES, Get 1 FREE
Buy ONE (1) Blue Diamond XTREMES Almonds, any variety (6oz)
and Get Your SECOND (2nd) Free
CONSUMER: LIMITED QUANTITIES, only available while supply lasts.
Limit one coupon of any kind per purchase of items described.” ,
Exp. Aug. 21
the product line is on sale for $2.99 (discounted from $3.99), while the other, usually more established 6oz cans are $2.99 (discounted from $4.49). the other exception being Blue Diamond Bold Spicy Dill Pickle Almonds, 6 oz , with $2.99 (discounted from $3.99).
now, all types are shown linked to the e-coupon, so their implementation is too wide! but you can use this to buy another type in there. i personally got Xtremes Cayenne Pepper (i’d already bought the other 2 types at Jewel-Osco) and non-xtreme Spicy Dill Pickle (which i’ve never bought before; must be new at Mariano’s).
also, due to the bug where BNG1F (manufacturer) e-coupons look at PRE-mix-and-match sale price, i landed a $2.99 discount! this means a final price of not $1.00/each, but $0.50/each!
