My Meijer deals matchups are based on the Illinois Meijer ads. Some Meijer locations in other states run sales one week ahead of Chicagoland’s ads.

Hi Jill, I’m wondering if you have had problems with P&G sales at Meijer. I decided to purchase the household P&G items at Meijer this week ($5 Catalina for $25). Items on the shelf for this Catalina did not match the size and price listed in this week’s flyer. Before checking out, I questioned the products at Customer Service, and was told what is in the flyer, regardless of what is labeled on the shelf, should generate the $5 Catalina. Matching these items from the sales flyer did not generate the Catalina. After checking out, I went to Customer Service with the P&G items which matched in the flyer, to question the Catalina again. Do you yourself match the items in the sales flyer or the items labeled P&G Sale on the shelf to receive the Catalina?

When I blog these deals, I am working from the ads — I typically don’t add in-store items unless I see something really out-of-the-ordinary good price-wise in store. I am not able to visit every single store every week, especially with our summertime schedule, so for this week’s write-up, I only listed what was in the ad.
If you bought everything from the ad and it did not work, I would ask Meijer to make it right — stores usually have a failsafe barcode at the service counter that they can scan to manually generate the Catalina if you indeed did buy all the right items, but it did not print.

Yes, thank you very much. I did receive the corrected savings from Customer Service. My question to you was more “what to do” in this case. I didn’t mean for it to sound like I expect you to go to every store to note savings. My apologies for the misunderstanding. I was surprised at the Customer Service response that I received. I know that the Meijer that I frequent would go out of their way to please me when I question something. Even though the problem was corrected, I inquired to have a manager fix the product’s sale information since it didn’t match the flyer. I was informed that it wasn’t necessary to do. If I hadn’t read the flyer’s information regarding size and price, I would have needed to purchase the larger product that costs more to receive the Catalina. Perhaps Customer Service doesn’t want to question a department’s decision on why the products didn’t match the flyer…I don’t know.
