At the suggestion of longtime reader MS40, I’m creating a once-a-week Deals in the Wild post, which will reside weekly in the “Hot Deals” sidebar on my blog. MS40 misses the readers’ forum that used to appear here where readers could share their own deals, and I think it’s a great idea:
“I’ve been thinking about another way you could create a “forum” for your readers. You could create a separate weekly post every Sunday (just like you do for CVS, Walgreens, Mejer, etc.) Your readers could then post any type of deal/info in this weekly forum. They could post a good deal from a smaller grocery store, post if there’s a store grand opening or a store closing, post if there’s a sample you can sign up for, or post a Kellogg’s Family Rewards code.”
So, let’s give it a try! Each week’s Deals in the Wild post will be a place for both me, and you, to share any interesting deals we find in the current week, whether they’re online or in stores.
Today I was at the Algonquin Meijer, and I spotted these Chef’N 5-piece kitchen tool sets. Originally $39.99, they’re now 90% off and just $3.99! Each set contains a walnut cook’s spoon, a nylon slotted spoon, a nylon turner, a stainless steel whisk, stainless steel tongs, and a ceramic crock. I honestly don’t think this was worth almost $40, but it is worth $4? You bet!
If you shop the Algonquin store, they’re on an endcap near the area rugs (not near the kitchen gear, which is where you might expect.)
Have you spotted any good deals in the wild this week? Feel free to post them below! If your deal includes photos, feel free to email them to me at jill@supercouponing.com, and I’ll add them to your comment!

Yay! A Deals in the Wild weekly post – this makes me happy!
I have some information to share regarding buying the Sunday Chicago Tribune at Menards. Since Sunday’s paper had 4 coupon inserts I wanted to get another paper. I stopped at the Morton Grove, IL store on Sunday 1/5. I was expecting to pay $1.50, but the price has increased to $2.15. Ugh!

The new price of Tribune at Menards is what prompted me to order it for 75c thru Jill’s code offer. Everything is going up this year because minimum wage is going up!

CVS has some great laundry detergent deals this week (name brands under $1!) and you may have an additional coupon in the app to further sweeten the deals. I gave this one its own post at this link.

Wow – the price of the Premium issues alone adds $60 to the annual cost..! So it’s really $86 a year, which is $1.65/week.

I was able to “opt out” of the premium issues when I signed up with your discount (75c Sunday only) The guy I spoke with told me it was starting this Sunday with a premium issue and that I am still getting it, yet will NOT be charged anything for it! I hope it goes just as promised?

LOL I just got the same mailed offer today and the front of envelope says only 38c per week! Ha! (your math of 50c per week sounds like the right math to me?) It is addressed to me or current resident, which is funny since I signed up just 4 days ago over the phone.

Ahh – that may be a good option then if you could let them know you want to opt out of those. Of course, then you’d miss the coupons too from that week :(
