Hello, Super-Couponers! It’s been a very busy week around here. With TLC’s Extreme Couponing in the news, many people have become inspired to learn to save big with coupons. Over the past week, Super-Couponing’s Facebook page gained over 1,700 new fans, and the blog’s gained almost 3,000 (!) registered users in the past four days. To all of our new Super-Couponers, welcome! You’re in the right place to learn to cut your grocery bill by half or better… easily and ethically! (And guess what… it’s FUN, too!)

As always, grab your scissors and coupon inserts, and get ready to start clipping this week, as bunches of bargains and freebies are heading your way!
As I am based in Chicagoland, the supermarkets I write about are the major ones for our market. However, many of these deals will be applicable at stores around the country within the same parent chain:
- The Jewel-Osco deals may be applicable at Albertson’s, Shaws, Acme, Cub, and other SuperValu-owned stores
- The Dominick’s deals may be applicable at Safeway, Vons, Carr’s, Randall’s Genuardi’s, Tom Thumb, and other Safeway-owned stores
- The Hilander deals may be applicable at Kroger, Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, Dillon’s, City Market, King Soopers, and other Kroger-owned stores
The Target, Walgreens and CVS deals apply nationally.
This week’s newspaper contained three coupon inserts: SmartSource (SS,) RedPlum (RP,) and a Playskool manufacturer coupon insert called “Take Time to Play” (TTTP.) The Parade magazine also has a manufacturer coupon for $2 off CoverGirl Natureluxe foundation. SOME editions of the Chicago Tribune also have a coupon for a FREE TGI Fridays Crispy Green Bean appetizer on the cover, so save that if you received it.

“Deals of the Week” is written assuming you are using the inserts from the Chicago Tribune (or, if reading from outside Chicagoland, the largest newspaper serving your market area. That largest paper has the most, highest-value coupons. The content, coupons, and dollar amounts of the coupons in the RedPlum and SmartSource inserts differs by paper, so to coupon effectively, you do need to be getting the paper with the “best,” highest-value coupons.)

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel-Osco… (View weekly ad)
Smart Balance Milk half-gallons are on sale for $2.50. Use the $2 coupon from 3/27 SS and pay .50!
(When’s the last time you paid .50 for milk? Actually, not long ago! Coupon shoppers know that this deal’s come around before, and here it is again. There are coupons for everything…)
French’s Spicy Brown Mustard is on sale for $1. Use the .50 coupon from 4/10 SS and pay .50!
My daughter’s favorite deal is back again… Mrs. T’s Pierogies are on sale for $3.49, Buy One Get One Free. As Jewel allows two coupons on a B1G1F sale, we’ll use one on each box to really bring the price down! There are $1 coupons in the 3/6 RP and the March All You, and a printable too (print 2!)
With 2 coupons, you’ll pay $1.49 for two, or about .75 per box! There’s also a $1-off-2 coupon in the 1/30 RP1 for more cheap pierogies…
Many readers have written to say that Ken’s Salad Dressing is on sale for $1.79 this week! Use the $1 coupon in the 3/20 SS and pay .79!
Stayfree Maxi Pads (24ct.) are on sale for $1.99. Use the $1 coupon from 3/27 RP and pay .99!
Butterball Turkey Bacon (12oz.) is on sale for $2.79. Use the .55 coupon from 1/16 SS and pay $2.24! There’s a .50 coupon in the March All You for more $2.29 bacon…
Edy’s Ice Cream 1.5qt. cartons are on sale “Buy 1, get 2 FREE.” The cartons are $6.99 each at most stores, so you’ll buy THREE for $6.99, or $2.33 each! It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a good deal on the cartons, so this isn’t bad at all.
If you’re sitting on a bunch of Catalina coupons for FREE milk from last week’s crazy Kellogg’s cereal deal, and you don’t want to buy “regular” jugs of white milk with them, many readers have written to point out that the Oberweis Milk is a great way to use them this week. Oberweis half-gallons are on sale for $4.29, Buy One Get One Free. The maximum value of the milk Catalina is $3.59, so buy two half-gallon bottles, which equals one gallon. Pay .70 for 2 bottles of yummy, creamy, hormone-free Oberweis milk!
The Biggest Loser 17oz. frozen meals (really – they have Beef Pot Roast with Potatoes, Lasagna, Mediterranean-Style Chicken, Beef Tips and Gravy, Zing Chicken) are on sale for $5.99 this week at Jewel. The 3/27 SS insert has a FREE after-rebate mail-in offer. For the cost of a stamp, that’s a pretty cheap 17-ounce entree.
Note that this appears to have been a REGIONAL offer, and not all SS inserts will have it, unfortunately.
Streit’s Passover Egg Matzos (12oz.) are $1.99 “with in-store manufacturer coupon.” I’m guessing that this is a tearpad in the store.
Zone Pefect bars are .99 each. Use the .55 coupon from 2/27 SS and pay .44!
Jewel is running a “Buy 5 and they’re $1.77 each” sale on General Mills cereals, Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks, Nature Valley Granola Bars and Snack Mixes. You MUST buy in quantities of 5 to receive the $1.77 price. Here are your products and matchups: Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks 4.5-9oz. ($1.52 per box after coupon) Bugles 6oz. Cheerios 8.9oz ($1.22 per box after .55 coupon) Chex Mix 7-8.75oz. ($1.27 per bag after coupon) Cinnamon Toast Crunch 12.8oz. ($1.44 per box after coupon) Gardetto’s Snack Mix 8-8.6oz. ($1.27 per bag after coupon) Nature Valley Granola Bars ($1.40 per box after coupon) Trix 12.8oz. ($1.22 per box after coupon) |

You can do multiple offers in the same transaction (buying 3 Purex will generate 3 Catalinas, etc.)
BEST BETS for the Mega-Catalina deal at Jewel:
– Bounty Basic – .99 for 8 rolls of paper towels is a STEAL if you’ve got the store coupon on your Avenu.
– Charmin – 12-rolls for $2.99 is pretty good in the absence of any other deal.
– Purex Complete Crystals Fabric softener and Detergent – The Complete is FREE, which is our favorite price! .99 for the detergent is good too.
MAKE THIS DEAL BETTER! Reader Sebrugger noted that when you buy a bottle of Purex Complete Crystals, a Catalina coupon for $1.50 off Snuggle fabric softener prints, but you’ll only get one of these per transaction. Buy 2 bottles of Purex Complete Crystals in TWO different transactions, so that you will end up with two $1.50 Snuggle coupons. Snuggle is on sale B1G1F this week for about $4.49 at most stores. Use your two $1.50 Catalina coupons to get $3 off and pay $1.49 for two bottles of Snuggle fabric softener. Whew! You should have no softening needs after this sale for quite some time. :)
– Tidy Cat Litter – $1.49 for a 20lb. bag? Unbeatable! Stock up.
– Wesson – .99 for the bottle is a great price if you aren’t stocked up from past deals.
– Huggies Big Boxes – $11.49-$11.99 after the deal is almost half off the usual $20 price. Stock up.
– Swiffer WetJet – At $9.99 for the WetJet plus the refill, this is a good price if you didn’t get one during a past deal.
– Almond Breeze Milk – $1.45 is a good price.
– Classico Pasta Sauce – If you’ve got the $1 peelies from the free Ronzoni pasta last month, you’re looking at .50 sauce. Don’t forget the “Buy 2 Classico, get $1 off fresh beef” coupon.
– Various Dannon Yogurts – .50 per multipack is a great price.
– Super Chill 12-packs soda – Yes, it’s store-brand. But $1.50 per 12-pack is super cheap, about .13/can. Not bad to have on hand for a warm-weather backyard cookout… or surprise gatherings of teenagers in your basement, which happens fairly often over here :)
Welch’s Grape Juice – $1.50 is a nice price.
Tyson Breaded Chicken – $2.99 if you’re not stocked on chicken strips from past deals.
Dr. Pepper at .36 a bottle is nice if the instant-savings overlap continues to work.
And lastly…
Creamette Pasta. If you have three .55 coupons from this past weekend’s inserts, buy 3 ($3.) Use three .55 coupons (now $1.35.) Get $1 Catalina and pay .35 for 3, or about .12 a box.

Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Jewel’s “Buy 3 Kellogg’s get FREE Milk” Catalina sale continues this week, but the cereals have all jumped from $1.67 a box to $2.50 — no longer a fantastic deal. If you would like the details and matchups anyway, visit last week’s Deals for April 4.
Jewel-Osco information:
Jewel-Osco has a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there.
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too.
Coupon books currently found at Jewel:
Fresh & Fun Celebration – Small book with coupons for $2 off any 1lb. or larger Stockman & Dakota Premium Angus Beef package; $2 off any 1 to 2lb. bag of Arctic Shores shrimp, and $2 off any Hormel Party Tray (all expire 7/15/11.)

Jewel meat deals:
- Jewel cut-up fryer chickens are $1.59/lb.
- Always a deal: Jewel-Osco has 1lb. chub packs of Carolina Ground Turkey in the freezer case for around $1.69, every day, at most locations.
Jewel seafood deals:
- Ocean Market 4oz. salmon or tilapia fillets are $1 each – that works out to $4/lb.
Jewel produce deals:
- 8lb. bags of California navel oranges or Texas Red grapefruit are $3.48 – that’s about .44/lb.
- Red or Gold Delicious apples are .79/lb.
- Roma tomatoes are $1.29/lb.
- Jazz, Pacific Rose or Pinata apples are $1.79/lb.
- Imported plums are $1.99/lb.
- Jewel is running their “4 for $10” Fav 4 produce sale again too. Stick to items that price out less than $2 for your best deals here, and remember that not everything included will be a good per-pound price.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Let’s go to Dominick’s (View weekly ad)…
Note to Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.
Meijer meat deals:
- Chicken drumsticks or thighs are .99/lb.
- 64oz. bags of frozen Meijer Boneless Skinless Chicken Tenders are $7.99 – that’s about $2/lb.
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. most of Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the oter Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
Here are your Hilander and Kroger deals (View weekly Hilander ad …
Bar S Meat Franks or Bologna – $1. Use the $1-off-2 coupon from 1/30 RP1 or a printable and pay .50!
Hunt’s Canned Tomatoes are on sale for .97 per can. Buy three and use the $1-off-3 coupon in the ConAgra Rediscover Family coupon book. You’ll pay $1.91 for three, or about .64 per can.
BONUS! Hilander has an ecoupon for FREE Kroger pasta (12-22oz.) when you buy 3 Hunt’s. Load that to your card and get your FREE pasta too!
—
A similar deal’s running on the Ro*Tel Canned Tomatoes. They’re .92 a can. Buy three and use the $1-off-3 coupon in the ConAgra Rediscover Family coupon book. You’ll pay $1.76 for three, or about .59 per can.
BONUS! Hilander has an ecoupon for $1 off Flavor-Sealed Ground Beef (1lb.) when you buy 3 Ro*Tel’s. Load that to your card and get your discount on beef as well.
Banquet Boneless Chicken (strips, nuggets, 24-26.5oz, but you want a 26oz.-or-up bag, which I’ll explain in a moment) are on sale for $3.99. Use the $1 Banquet coupon from the ConAgra Rediscover Family coupon book, which specifies 26oz. or larger. You’ll pay $2.99. But just like our previous deals, there’s more…
Hilander has an ecoupon for FREE Hunt’s 24oz. Ketchup when you buy a bag of Banquet Boneless. Load that to your card and get FREE ketchup too!
(As an aside, I had to laugh when I saw this deal. My sons have long loved to dip chicken strips in… ketchup. Try as we have, we can’t get them to switch to honey mustard, barbecue… anything more “chicken appropriate.” And now, here’s a deal pairing chicken strips and ketchup together. Maybe my boys aren’t that unusual after all…)
This is really the week for ecoupon deals at Hilander and Kroger! Here’s another one on Manwich and FREE buns. Manwich (15-15.5oz.) is on sale for $1 per can. Buy three and use the $1-off-3 coupon in the ConAgra Rediscover Family coupon book. You’ll pay $2 for three, or about .67 per can.
BONUS! Hilander has an ecoupon for FREE 8ct. Kroger Sandwich Buns (1lb.) when you buy 3 Manwiches. Load that to your card and get your discount on beef as well.
If you need eggs this week, it’s almost cheaper to buy them WITH margarine than without! There’s another ecoupon deal that you can load – buy two Fleischmann’s Margarine or Parkay Margarine ($1 each) and get $1.50 off one dozen Kroger eggs. Medium eggs are $1 this week, and large are likely not too much more.
For $2, get two margarines AND a dozen eggs. Not bad!
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
16-count packages of Yoplait Go-Gurt are also $3.98 each. Buy two and use any of many .75 coupons – 3/27 SSw, printable (more here and here. Buy two and pay $7.21 for two, or about $3.61 each. Per Go-Gurt tube, that works out to .23 each.

Hilander is running a “Spend $25, get $5” instant-savings deal on baby products. Honestly, nothing is super-great to write home about here. I was shocked to see the PediaSure shakes priced at $9.69 for the 6-pack… the regular price at both Jewel and Dominick’s is $6.99. Mega packs of Luvs are $9.99 each, but there are no current coupons.
If you’re a Pampers fan, they’re definitely your best bet for this deal. Pampers Jumbo packs (diapers and training pants) are $8.99 in this deal. Buy three ($26.97.) After instant-savings, it’s $21.97. Use as many $1.50 coupons from the 4/3 PG as you have.
With three coupons, pay $17.47 for three, or $5.82 per pack – pretty good for Pampers.
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
Dozen cartons of Kroger Medium Eggs are $1 each.
Hilander meat deals:
- 4lb. bags of frozen Kroger Chicken Drumsticks or Thighs are $3.96 – that’s .99/lb.
- Tyson boneless, skinless chicken breasts, tenderloins or thighs are $1.97/lb.
- Kroger chicken wings are $1.99/lb.
Hilander seafood deals:
- 5lb. bags of Kroger Value Fish Fillets are $9.99 – that’s about $2/lb., an excellent price, though the ad does not say what kind of fish.
Hilander produce deals:
- Texas sweet onions are .99/lb.
- 3lb. bags of Cuties mandarins are $3.88. Use the .75 coupon from 4/3 SS and pay $3.13, or about $1.04/lb!
- Green or red seedless grapes are $1.48/lb.
- Ataulfo Mangoes are $1 each
Remember that Hilander doubles coupons up to .55 face value every day! You are only allowed to double two of the SAME coupon per day though — additional coupons will ring at face value. (Split your trips if you’re stocking up!)
Readers outside Illinois will want to check with their local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated stores to determine how they handle coupon doubling.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
Reader Flygirl spotted a super deal on Olivari Olive Oil! 22.5oz. bottles (big bottles!) are on sale for $8.15 at most stores. (Remember, regular prices can vary depending on location.)
Print this Buy One, Get One Free coupon, and you’ll take two bottles home for a little over $4 each.
(Note that this particular B1G1F coupon truly does ring off BOTH bottles of Olivari, and a $1 coupon cannot be used on the first bottle (the “Buy 1” bottle) in this scenario.
FREE Gain Dish Detergent: The P&G $110 Everyday Savings coupon mailer contains two current coupons for $1 off Gain Dish Detergent. Walmart sells Gain for .97 (exp. 4/30/11, 6/30/11)
Policies to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.” I have heard from one reader who used a $3 Register Reward on a $2.49 copy of All You magazine and DID receive change, in cash.
I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.
Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?
I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
However, if there IS an ad with noteworthy sales or I’m aware of great coupon matchups, you’ll find those here too.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Streit’s Passover Egg Matzos (12oz.) are $1.99 “with in-store manufacturer coupon.” I’m guessing that this is a tearpad in the store.
When we were there last weekend, they had passover coupon brochures by all the Passover stuff. Others appeared to be photocopies taped to the boxes.
But 12oz for $1.99 isn’t really a bargain. They had several 5# packages (5 1# boxes shrink wrapped together) for $2.99-$3.99. Even if you only need 2 boxes, this is a better deal.
If you need help figuring out what to do with leftover Matzo, check out this video for tips:

Jill, I saw you on a news program a year ago when I was desperately trying to save money. I have gone to your workshops, read through your site multiple times. I am consistantly saving 62% (according to the excel savings spread sheet). Sometimes my savings are as high as 80%ish. I even developed my own excel grocery spread sheet to track a list through out the week that saves me time at the store and keeps me organized! I know what I will spend and save before I leave my house! I was so excited that when I read your deals this week (I focused on Jewel)I was on track with the deals you found. Thanks for all you do and making it so easy to follow!

I would like to know what good prices are for toilet paper? The package sizes vary so much on how many sq ft per in each. My mom gets hers at Costco and I love that they last so long (2 ply). It seems like the Cottonelle ones dissappear so fast! I recently found a site which lists good prices for diapers per size and can’t find a similar list for tp. Thanks!

This the 3/13 RP, plus the 4/10 RP has a 75 c. coupon as well.

I got the Snickers Eggs at Walgreens and of course the coupons beeped at the register. The girl didn’t want to let me use the coupons at all so we called over the manager. He wouldn’t adjust the price for the eggs to get them all free, he gave me 29 cents off of TWO eggs instead of 29 cents off of EACH egg. Silly me didn’t bring the coupon policy because I’ve never had a problem at that Wags before (new manager I guess). I argued that it was a dollar off of TWO eggs so he said he yes, that meant I’d get 29 cents off of TWO eggs. Doesn’t make any sense I know!! I had bought four eggs with two coupons so I had to pay about sixty cents for four eggs. I felt like an idiot arguing over sixty cents so I paid it.
Also I had a Walgreens coupon for $1.00 off any Carefree Acti-fresh excluding trial sizes. I figured I could use it on the 99 cents Carefree because they were Acti-fresh. The coupon wouldn’t go through at the register, it said something like the product was not purchased so the cashier wouldn’t let me use it. She said the 22-ct. pads WERE trial size. I argued that they were NOT trial size because it didn’t say so anywhere on the package. I was tired of arguing and the manager was a jerk so I just paid the 99 cents because I had already used my two 50 cent coupons before.
Do you all argue over a few dollars? I know dollars add up and that’s why we coupon!

Target has the Airwick Starter Kits on sale for $4.19 and with the 3/20 SS $4 off coupon, it’s only $.19!! ut then I walked around the corner and on the end cap, there were the AirWick Starter Kits with one cartridge already included on clearance for $4.24….so you get the gadget and one fragrance for $.24!!
The $4 coupon was also on Coupons.com…but I can’t see it anymore.

I was just wondering what Walgreens you visited? I’ve never had problems with my most frequented one, but I really had problems with a couple of others in the past.
That’s ridiculous that they wouldn’t let you use the carefree coupons. And as far as the snicker’s eggs go – I had no problems at all doing that deal. I know there are greater things in life to be concerned about, but even though it’s just a few dollars, it’s the principle here. I would have straightened it out, otherwise it may just keep happening every time you go there with other deals! After all, it is your time spent that gets wasted.

I couldn’t find the $1.50 coupon in the 4/3 SS for the Luster White 7 Toothpaste at Wags. Is anyone else having this problem?
I found a printable for $1 off 2 Malt-O-Meal Cereals. This combined with the Buy 2, Get $1 at Jewel puts you at $1.50 per cereal. Here is the link to that coupon: https://www.malt-o-meal.com/special-offers/special-offers.php
Thanks for breaking down all the Catalina deals this week, Jill! I’m really excited about it :)

I found a little deal at Jewel on Milk Bones.
I’m doing this from memory, so excuse my vagueness- I found a bag of their oral care treats that had a “Buy a box of Milk Bone treats, get this bag for free” peelie.
Then the box of Milk Bone treats had a “Buy this box of treats, and get $1.50 off Milk Bone original treats” peelie.
Plus, there was a “Buy 3 Milk Bones, get $2 back” catalina.
So I got a box of regular Milk Bones, a box of Original Milk Bones, and a bag of Milk Bones Oral Care treats. I used the free coupon, the $1.50 off coupon, and got a $2 catalina back. It was about $5 OOP.

I went to jewel tonight and purchased a few items 200.00$ to be exact before coupons and preferred savings and while I was there I saw some peel off coupons by the shreaded kraft cheese with philadelphia cream cheese in it for 1.00$ off one and the cheese is on sale this week for 2.54 a pkg so 1.54 after coupon not bad and after I checked out my bill dropped down to 84.00 and then printed 11.00 in future money coupons and another free milk coupon with a limit of up to 4.50 from general mills from the cheerios and trix cereal I bought so now i can go back and get the oberweis chocolate milk B1G1 for totally free. not a bad shopping experience at all tonight…Thanks Jill…..Also if you still have the coupon for 1.00 off deans chocolate milk I used that on top of my free milk coupon and there is also peelies by the chips ahoy cookies for 1.00 off when you buy a gallon of milk and the cookies are on sale for 2 for 4.00 so lots of cheap treats for the kids and husband….

I went to my local wags in Sandwich and this is how it worked out for me…..I had 8 coupons, bought 16 eggs @ .29/ea=$4.64 – 4/$1q= .64 out of pocket. I was totally okay with that! This is what I am wondering? They also have hersheys easter candies on sale and if you spend $10 you get $5 cat….can I use $1 off coupons when I get to my $10 and still get the cat?
godonie says
Wags CoverGirl Clean Makeup – $6.99 ea. BOGO 1/2 off ($3.49) = $5.24 each. Then use the (4/3 PG) $2.50 off for 2 Q = $2.74 ea bottle. If I figured it correctly (I’m a newbie), I think that’s a good price.

Just went to Jewel and bought the Oberweis chocolate milk BOGO (2 half gallons) and tried to use my free milk coupon. The cashier said since they are a half gallon each and the coupon was for one gallon, I couldn’t use the coupon. Bummer.

I went there this afternoon and didn’t see any for $1 on the 10/$10 sale nor seen any space on the shelf for it. I’ll try again tomorrow and will presume need a rain check.
By the way, the gal/guy who left the rainchecks behind for the Mrs. T Pierogies…thank you. I only had raincheck for one variety but used your for the other flavors.
Bought 9 Mrs. T and five Intl Creamers for $6.52!!!

I was just at Joe Caputo in Algonquin, and saw Fair Oaks milk on sale for $1.99. If you’re not familiar with them, they are hormone / antibiotic free. Not sure if it qualifies as organic or not. It’s at least on par with Oberweis & similar product.
If my fridge wasn’t full and we didn’t have an almost new half gallon, I’d have grabbed one.
It wasn’t in their sale flyer, so I don’t know if this deal ends today, or if it was up early for next weeks sale.

If I buy 4 shampoos or conditioners in one transaction, will I get 2 $2 Cats or do I have to purchase the pair in 2 separate transactions?
Thanks!

Just an FYI: these hot dogs aren’t very good. I love hot dogs; especially Ball Park hot dogs. These have a grainy consistency which I cannot stand. Sadly, I bought two packages as my $1 off coupon was for two packages so now I am stuck with them. I realize that everything in life is a matter of personal preference and taste but if someone else loves hot dogs like I do and cannot stand grainy ones…avoid this brand. To those who do enjoy Bar S hot dogs; no offense intended.

I have been to 2 different Jewels and can not for the life of me find the Smart Balance milk! And not because it has been cleared out, I can’t even find the cooler where it’s sold. I have tried a Jewel in the city and one in Lemont with no luck, can anyone help? Maybe some Jewels just don’t carry it?

When you search a coupon at:
https://supercouponing.coupontom.com/coupons/show
for something like Dish (for dish washing soap)
In your results for “Location” you will see a Date and an S or S1 (e.g., 03/27 S1)
What does S or S1 stand for?
When you click on the item, the description is Sunday paper.
I understand SS, RP, AY, etc, but not S or S1.
Thanks in advance.

One Walmart near me (West side of Aurora) has Quaker granola bar 3-packs for $.50. Use the $.75 off 2 coupon and get 6 bars for $.25. The only drawback is most of them had late April/early May expirations, but I’ll send them to Girls Scout meetings for snacks for the troup.
Also, in case people aren’t aware, Menards sells Sunday Tribunes for $1.00. Most of them have a limit of 3. Nice way to get some extra coupon inserts on good weeks (Use a single $1 coupon, and you’ve alread broken even).
Also, speaking of Menard’s, they have 2 decent deals this week.
1) Rayovac AA & AAA 20-pk batteries are $5.99 with $2 rebate. Using the $1 coupon makes them $1.99 after rebate for 20 batteries. Not as nice as free 4 packs at Target, but we use a TON of AA & AAA batteries, and $.10 per battery is a pretty good price in my book.
2) Selected Clorox and Brita products are buy $20, get $10 rebate. The Brita slim pitcher is $6.88. If you print the $5.00 coupon, and pick up some other stuff, the pitchers end being $1.88 each. My deal was 2-150ct Clorox wipes for $4.48 each and 2 Brita pitchers for $6.88 each.
2 x $4.48 = 9.96
2 x $6.88 = 13.76
2-$5 coupons= -$10.00
———————
Out of pocket= $13.72
$10 rebate = 3.72 total for 210 Colorx wipes and 2 Brita pitchers
Now, I know the rebates are only good for future trips to Menards, but they don’t expire, and Menard’s runs free after rebate deals that you can roll these on.

I’m a couponing virgin (haven’t actually shopped with coupons yet, but I’m preparing for my first trip), so I know these are probably silly questions. But I need help; I keep getting really overwhelmed.
The deals of the week for Kroger keep mentioning this ConAgra Rediscover Family coupon book. I’ve been googling that, and I can only find that sometimes if you spend a certain amount of money on ConAgra products, you can mail in the receipts and get a coupon book.
First, is ConAgra like P&G? Do I just look on the box to see if the product applies? So, I’m not randomly searching, what are some common ConAgra products?
Second, how often are ConAgra coupon books put out? And where do I get the form to submit my receipts? When it says you have to spend $10 on ConAgra products, is that $10 pre-coupon?
Third, I keep getting frustrated b/c so many of the coupons that correspond to this week’s sales are from previous inserts that I just don’t have (just ordered a paper, hope to get one this Sunday). Is this just the name of the game? Will it just take time for me to build up my coupon stash enough to be able to get the best deals? I’m trying to get printables online, but like I said, I just keep getting overwhelmed or lost in all the places to get coupons.
Fourth, it seems like every printable requires you to sign up for that products or store’s email/club. Is that really how couponers do it, sign up with endless products for a measly $.50 coupon?
Fifth, my store has this 4 boxes cereal for $12 plus a $5 gift card back (plus I have 4 manufacturing coupons of $.55 for reg cheerios, which my store will double up to a $1) = $3 for 4 boxes Cheerios. Great deal, but my store will only let me get one gift card per trip. Is that normal? I’d have to go every day this week to do any major stocking up. Is that more typical of couponers: to do lots of little trips to just get the deals, rather than the crazy $1900 shopping trips you see on TLC?
I’m sure this information is probably out there, but it’s hard to concentrate on couponing with a 2 and 1 year old tugging on my leg. Still, I’m hoping that someday soon I’ll be saving a bundle on diapers, making it all worth it….
Thanks for any feedback!
