Get set for another week of great deals! A big welcome to our new Super-Couponers from this past week’s classes in Batavia and Woodridge…
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. Unless otherwise noted, grocery store deals run through Wednesday of this week, and the pharmacy deals run through Saturday. And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing website for a list of FREE coupon classes and instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
Kicking this week off is the EXCITING Super-Double coupon sale at Kmart! Through this Saturday, Kmart is doubling all coupons up to and including $2 in value. (They do not double B1G1F coupons, nor do they double coupons off multiple items, like “$1 off 2”.) Remember that while you don’t get coupon overage, you DO get lots and lots of things for free and cheap! Here’s a list of SOME of the things you could get free/cheap with coupons! Special thanks to the blog and forum readers who posted and sent me their matchups for this sale — and if you repost this list, please credit JillCataldo.com, as it’s the product of many people’s efforts! Thanks! :)

If you printed the $2 coupons for All Small and Mighty, take those along too… it’s $4.79 a bottle, and with a $2 coupon doubled to $4, you’ll take this home for .79! That’s some cheap detergent!
Note that prices may vary a little depending on your store’s location.
If you have the $120 Procter & Gamble coupon book, I’d bring the whole book along too – some of those $1 and $2 coupons inside could be good deals on many things if doubled too!
Whew! That’s one of the longest first-store-in-the-list reports I think I’ve ever written! If you’re not shopped out yet, let’s head to Jewel…
In conjunction with Earth Day, Jewel has some great deals going on organic and healthy foods!
Muir Glen canned tomato paste is on sale for .80 a can. Print 2 $1 off Muir Glen tomato products coupons and take this home for FREE!
Head to www.wildharvestorganics.com and print some $1 off Wild Harvest coupons, and then take your pick from the following…
32-ounce cartons of Wild Harvest rice or soy milk are on sale B1G1F, $2.59. Print 2 coupons, use one on each, and pick two up for .59, or about .30 each!
Wild Harvest organic animal grahams or cookies are $1.99 a package. With a $1 coupon, they’re just .99…
Wild Harvest organic pasta is $1.50 a box. With a $1 coupon, it’s .50 a box…
Wild Harvest 16 ounce organic teas are $1 a bottle. With a $1 coupon, they’re FREE!
Wild Harvest baby food jars are on sale 3 for $2. With 2 coupons, all 3 jars will be FREE!
Kashi cereals are also on sale at Jewel for $3 a box. Register with Kashi and print two $2 off Kashi coupons, bringing this to $1 a box, a great price for organic cereal!
Stonyfield organic yogurts are also on sale. 6-ounce yogurts are .89 a cup, and with a .50 off 3 coupon, enjoy your organic yogurt for .72 a cup… or try their Oikos organic Greek yogurt (which my brother-in-law LOVES… Kevin, this one’s for you!) It’s on sale for $2.19, and with the $1 coupon from 4/5 SS, it’s $1.19 a tub… an excellent price for this product.
Still at Jewel, continuing from last week, Ronzoni pasta is on sale for $1.25 a box. Use the $1 coupon from 4/5 SS and take this pasta home for a QUARTER a box!
And, don’t forget to take home a FREE bottle of water! Vitamin Water bottles are on sale for $1 each, and there’s a $1 coupon in 4/5 SS. You know what happens when you use a dollar coupon on a dollar sale… it’s FREE!
Lastly, there’s a good Catalina deal going on Kimberly-Clark paper products. Buy $20 worth and get a $5 Catalina for your next shopping trip. 12-packs of Cottonelle toilet paper and 6-packs of Viva paper towels are both $6.99 a pack. Now, for my advanced couponers, you know that sometimes these deals run on the shelf price of the item, not the Preferred price. This is one of those deals… and if you buy 2 of these, you’ll spend $13.98, but the regular/shelf price will be $20.98… earning you a $5 Catalina.
Let’s use coupons too! 3/15 and 3/29 SS both have .50 coupons for the Cottonelle. Use 2, pay $12.98 and get $5 back… you’ll get 24 rolls of toilet paper for $7.98! Or, buy 2 Viva… use this .40 coupon and pay $13.58, getting $5 back. You’ll pay $8.58 for 12 rolls of paper towels!
Note: If for some reason your Catalina does not print, realize that you’re “on your own” working the deal differently than what the ad says. If you’re not comfortable doing the deal this way, don’t. For more reasons why a Catalina may not print, read the following…
Over at Dominick’s, the big buzz is about their Living Well, Feeling Great promotion (and many of you have been emailing asking when I’m going to write about this!) Buy $30 worth of LWFG-tagged items and get a $10 Catalina off your next order. There are thousands of brands and products in this deal, and a nice list of the products is on Safeway’s site.
This deal continues until May 5th (!!!!) so we have lots of time to play with this great sale! I have to confess that I spent so much time figuring the Kmart list this week that I haven’t had nearly the time to delve into this sale as I’d like, as one of my children has been sick for the past few days, and much of my time has spent in mom mode too :)
So I’m calling on you, Super-Couponers… if you’ve been at this for awhile, your couponing skills should be sharp enough to tackle this! The bargain website SlickDeals has been ALL OVER this sale (scroll down to the read header for Living Well, Feeling Great and check out some of the ideas and matchups they’re working on. Then, feel free to post your deals and ideas here! I love seeing how much you can do with your newfound coupon knowledge, as it makes me a very proud “teacher.”
And, make sure you grab a brochure for the LWFG promo from the service desk, as there are coupons inside for…
$0.50 – O Organics milk
$1.00 – Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream
$1.00 – Contessa Meal Kits
$1.00 – Starbucks Ice Cream
$0.50 – Dasani Water
$1.01 – SunChips
$2.00 – Starbucks Coffee
$0.50 – Capri Sun Drinks
$1.00 – Bright Green Products
There’s a bottle of Bright Green bleach that sells for $1.49 that could make an excellent filler to get to $30 if you need it… especially with this coupon! :) Other good fillers – Bright Green facial tissue (also $1.49) and Bright Green napkins ($1.99) – use the same coupon from the “Join us and help make a difference” brochure.
Dominick’s also has a $1 off Bright Green products printable coupon on their site here.
Over at Walgreens, take home some FREE Mentos gum! Mentos gum is on sale for $1 a pack when you buy 2. Use the two $1 coupons from 3/1 SS and take home two packs for FREE!
Still at Walgreens, the free shaving gel deal continues! Skintimate Dry Skin shaving gel and Edge Comfort Shave shaving gel are on sale for $2.99 for a can. Buy one and get a $2.99 RR. It’s like getting it for FREE!
Over at CVS, you can get FREE shaving gel too! The same kind of deal is running on Edge Hydrate shaving gel. Buy one at $2.89 and get $2.89 back in ECBS… just like getting it for FREE!
Still at CVS, Bayer Quick Release aspirin crystals are on sale for $2. Buy them and get a $2 ECB! These will also be FREE :)
There’s also a good deal going on Crest toothpaste at CVS. Crest Pro Health is on sale for $2.88, and you’ll get a $2 ECB for each tube you buy (limit of 2.) Not sure if it was a fluke or luck, but I was able to use a $1 off 2 old spice deoderants today and it was doubled.
Jeszka says
I tried printing the Trail Mix coupon from the link above and I was having trouble. It ended up printing three times, but they all have the same coupon number. I have not printed from smart source yet and I was wondering if this was how it worked. Usually the sites only let you print two and they have different coupon numbers. Can anyone let me know how the smart source coupons print? I do not want to get to the store and get in trouble if they are duplicates. Thanks for your help! And Jill thanks for the deals!
avenger says
You will need to go to Jewel first to do this! Look near the freezer case for tear pads for Kashi frozen. The pads have 4 Kashi coupons on each page. Each page has a $3 off Kashi pizza.
Take 6 of those and take them to Dominicks for the deal! Buy 6 Kashi pizzas, $4.99 each. You will be at $29.94. You need some small filler to get to $30 so the Bright Green stuff is good like Jill suggested. I used their brand Kleenex ($1.49 with $1 coupon) and that put me to $31.43.
Then coupons, $1 for the BG and 6 $3 coupons = $19 off.
That brings you to $12.93! Pay $12.93 and get $10 back. 6 really good organic pizzas and a box of kleenex for under $3! Now that is a deal!
tkozicki says
FYI – I bought 2 packs of the Cottenelle toilet paper the other day and did not get my Cat. Went to service desk and she said it’s off Preferred Price. I challenged her on this and told her I did it at Spring Grove the day before. She read the paperwork on it and I read with her that some stores are on shelf price and some are on Preferred Price. This has been an ongoing issue that corporate is trying to fix. I returned the toilet paper. It’s not a deal without the Cat. Beware at McHenry!
AuntDiane says
My coupon says $2 off one styler with purchase of any one shampoo or conditioner.
So after it is doubled, that would make each product $1.
stretchingabuck says
At Jewel, couldn’t you use the $1 off coupon from 4/5 SS for the Oikos yogurt saving Kevin (your brother in law) an additional $0.50?
Bargain Babe says
These are aren’t free, but are a decent deal at KMart.
On sale for $2.79, the $1Q from the 4/5 SS will double and net these for 79 cents.
They’re by J&J and are a “new line of plant-based, biodegradable cleanrs from the makers of Windex & Scrubbing Bubbles.”
kayjayday says
I’m doing the tp trip to Jewel tomorrow and I was wondering if I could pay for some of that transaction with old catalinas. Will that mess up my chances of getting my $5 off? Thanks!

The Dentyne Gum Coupon from 2/22 SS expired on 4/19 :(
newbie2couponing says
I thought it was just the mouthwash & Oral B floss (or did I not read the ad well enough?).
lilyrose says
Did something change? I thought when Jewel has a B1G1 sale, 2 coupons could be used. I also thought that Jewel accepted overages on coupons as long as it didn’t go over the total of the transaction. I bought Nature Made vitamins at Jewel B1G1. It was $5.19 for one. I used a $5 I had received from Nature Made. I also tried using a $1 from the paper. It wouldn’t take the $1. The cashier (for the self checkout) said it was ’cause it was over the $5.19, so it wouldn’t take it. I still bought them. It was only 19 cents for the two, so that was good. I’m just wondering if Jewel has changed any of their policies regarding this.
gtrkprncs says
At coupons.com you can print a $2.00 coupon for Dry Idea Deoderant and Target has it on sale for $2.00 this week, so it is free! If you don’t want it, donate it to charity…I am sure they can use it right now.
Coupon Maven says
Dominick’s also has a $1 off Bright Green products printable coupon on their site here.
stretchingabuck says
I purchased the Carpi Sun at the Crystal Lake Kmart and it rang up at $2.69. I didn’t notice until I got home and when I phoned them, they said none of their Capri Sun are priced at $2. Anyone have a similar problem or had luck with the $2 price?
rachelflower says
What a bummer….went to my second Kmart (went yesterday, too) armed with my list and coupons and was seriously bummed…either the product wasn’t there at all/ not carried at that store (Oust, V-8 Fusion, Hormel Compleats, Adidas), or the price was much higher than reported (Pledge Multi, Capri Sun, Temptation cat treats), or they’d been cleaned out already (Sally Hansen nail clipper, Bic Soleil).
Got some Aveeno, All Small & Mighty, and Fantastic and that’s it!
Double coupons is a bust in Norridge and Forest Park…. oh well, back to thinking over the Dominicks and Jewel deals!
rachelflower says
Did anyone get the $2 Kashi coupon Jill mentioned above? I registered and got $1.50 off two boxes, but not a $2 off 1.
doodlebug1970 says
The Oikos Greek Yogurt is $1.49 at Woodman’s. With the $1.00 off coupons I got it for .49 today. That’s a little better than $1.19 at Jewel.
jenschopp says
I tried to register and it keeps telling me I have not clicked all the wheat sprigs… What am I missing? It won’t let me register!
moneysavinmom says
I went to the Super K in Round Lake Beach, and they were also wiped clean of many items- Fantastik, Lysol, Aveeno, Vaseline, V8 to name a few (most of the freebies)…I did also notice that Kmart doesn’t carry all of the products listed…anyone find the Post Trail Mix Crunch there? I had 6 Qs for those boxes! SO bummed! Still got out with quite a few things, so not all is lost. I guess I can try back later this week.

There is a 15% off coupon on the Walgreens website for today only in honor of earth day. Here is the link (I hope it works) if not just go to the Walgreens site and print it off.

FYI : Kmart has a coupon savings booklet which can be found at the customer service desk and the jewlery counter make-up section. It is a small white booklet with the words “Spring is savings season from Kmart” “over $75 in coupons inside”. I used some of them on my recent trip for cheap nail polish, dog treats. There are some other good coupons in there which you may find useful. Also these are manufacturer coupons which you can later use anywhere and this booklet is free! If I get some time I’ll try to post my shopping trip to Kmart under the Kmart blog.
bluedemon20 says
Along with the Capri Sun coupon Jill mentioned (for Dom’s deal), there is a 1.00 off Sun Chips in All You (may, I think) and there’s a 1.00 off your shopping order in that Kraft Food & family booklet when you buy Starbucks…stack those with the Dominick’s coupons from their little flyer at the store–at CS.
Melissa says
I went to the Kmart in Kenosha last night. I got 9 bottles of Visine, 3 bottles of Aveeno lotion, and 1 Secret deoderant. This is all I had coupons for. I had $2 coupons for each item, I thought I would be getting everything free but instead the cashier gave me back in cash $12.51. I was very excited and I will definitely be making a trip back there this week.

I visited the Round Lake K Mart 3 times last week at various times according to the stocking schedule (thanks to the nice manager who clued me in). Anyway, each time I went, almost every single item on these match-up lists were already gone–completely wiped out. Understandably, you snooze you loose, right?? Though I was disappointed (especially after the time and effort spent organizing), I came upon 4 or 5 women who who circling a stock woman like vultures.
The worker was attempting to put new stock on shelves and the women were salivating. Anyway, one of the women even had a box cutter on hand and began opening the box before the worker could get to it.
The cart women attacked (literally) and dumped every box of Vaseline and Aveeno lotion into their carts!! We’re talking anywhere from 40-60 products here. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I approached one of them to see if they would spare one lotion of each kind, and they told me that they would…for $5!!! What?! Is this what couponing is coming to people? I’m all for hunting out good deals, but be fair! Taking all of them for yourself is…well…selfish!!!
Maybe there isn’t a written code out there….but I feel that 1-2 free items for yourself if MORE than enough. I mean, COME ON! Is your skin THAT dry?! (Sorry- just frustrated). Anyway, I see that K mart is extending the coupons into this next week. If you are a stockpiler, please remember that it IS exciting to get free items, but there are other people who spend time researching and organizing like you too. All’s the mama wanted was 1 free bottle of lotion and some V8 people!!! (End rant)
