Find another great deal with the YourBucks Catalina promotion? Post it in the comments below!
3-packs of Dial bar soap are on sale for .99. Use the .35 coupon from 3/7 RP and take them home for .64! Prefer pump soap? Dial Complete Foaming Hand Soap is the same price – use the same coupon here instead, and it’s .64 too!
McCormick Grill Mates spices are on sale for $1.50 each. Use the $1 coupon from 4/25 RP and and take them home for .50!
Here’s a deal my beautiful mom spotted on Pringles! Pringles chips are currently on sale for .99 a can. Check your Avenu electronic coupons for Jewel, as she’s got an ecoupon for .40 off each 3 cans! Thanks, Mom! Forum reader Clipsalot also points out that there’s a .50 off 2 Pringles coupon in the Make it Easy Take it Easy mailer and a $1-off-4 in the 3/7 PG. Make this deal even better with coupons!
Ronzoni SmartTaste pasta is on sale for $1.29 a box. Use a .75 printable and take it home for .54! (Yes, we’ve seen better pasta deals recently, most notably the .02 for 3 boxes of Barilla at Meijer two weeks ago. But if you missed that one, this isn’t too bad.)
Dannon Dan-O-Nino kids’ yogurts are on sale for $2 for a 6-cup pack. Use this $1 printable and take these home for $1! It’s also part of the ConAgra $25/$10 Catalina sale outlined below…
Kellogg’s Cereal Catalina Deal! Here’s a fun deal on Kellogg’s. Buy any 4 selected Kellogg’s cereals or Pop-Tarts priced at $2.50 each and get a $4 Catalina back for your next shopping trip! The Catalina knocks that down to $6 for 4, or $1.50 each… but that’s way too much to pay for cereal. Let’s use coupons to bring this down even more! Here are your included products and matchups for the Catalina. Note that while ALL of these are included in the “Buy 4, get $4” Catalina, not all are priced at $2.50. Kellogg’s All-Bran Kellogg’s Cocoa Krispies Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Kellogg’s Corn Pops Kellogg’s Cracklin’ Oat Bran Kellogg’s Crispix Kellogg’s Froot Loops Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats, Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats Little Bites Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, Kellogg’s Jumbo Rice Krispies Kellogg’s Smart Start Kellogg’s Special K |
Ready for a scenario?
A Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, etc. Scenario
Buy 4 boxes at $2.50 each ($10)
Use a $1-off-3 printable.
Pay $9 and get $4 back… that knocks it to $1.25 a box.
If you have a .70 Blinkie, use it here for the 4th box, pay $8.30 and get $4 back — that’s $1.08 a box.
With four .70 Blinkies, pay $7.20 and get $4 back – that’s .80 a box.
Now, here’s an exception to our usual “Shop Sunday-through-Wednesday” rule. Kellogg’s cereals are part of ANOTHER Catalina deal scheduled to start May 1st. If you’re a seasoned coupon shopper, you may want to wait until Saturday to do this deal as it may possibly double-dip with this:
Buy any 4 Kelloggs cereals 8-ounces or larger between 5/1 & 5/14 and get a $3 Catalina.
That’s right… shopping on Saturday could quite possibly generate BOTH a $4 and a $3 Catalina. So…
Back to our scenario. With one $1-off-3 on the double-dip day, pay $9 and get $7 back – that’s .50 a box!
Note that the Kellogg’s stock COULD be depleting from the store by the end of the week… but it’s definitely worth a try, don’t you think? :)

If you’re buying anything not shown in the ad, reference UPCs here to make sure your sizes/flavors are included in the Catalina deal. |
Ready for some ConAgra $25/$10 scenarios?
A Lots-of-Popcorn deal
Buy 14 Orville Redenbacher popcorn ($25.06)
Use 5 $2-off-2 printables
Use $1 off 2 printable
Use .40 and .75 insert coupons
Pay $12.91 and get $10 back! $2.91 for LOTS of popcorn!
—————————————-
A “Stock Up On Paper” deal
Buy 2 Northern Bath Tissue 12ct
Buy 2 Brawny Paper Towels 8ct
Use two $1 Northern coupons and as many Brawny .50 coupons as you have (one or two.)
With 1 Brawny coupon, pay $25.46 and get $10 back! $15.46 for 24 rolls of TP and 16 rolls of paper towels.
With 2, pay $24.96 and get $10 back!
—————————————-
An all-Peter Pan deal
(This one has been TRICKY all week as some of the UPCs were not loaded into the system intially. And, because they’re B1G1F, you will need a LOT of jars to get over the $25 mark as the free jars count with a price of $0. Proceed with caution…)
Buy 18 jars of Peter Pan ($26.91)
Use as many $1.50-off-4 printables as you have
With two printables, pay $23.91 and get $10 back. 18 jars for $13.91 is .77 a jar.
With access to more computers and four printables, pay $20.91 and get $10 back – works out to .61 a jar.
If you are a “Black Belt” coupon shopper, you may like these Black Belt Scenarios for the ConAgra $25/$10.
As if that wasn’t enough Catalina madness this week, Jewel’s got yet another Catalina deal running (through 5/16.) This one’s on Scott paper products, and it’s pretty easy – receive a Catalina when you buy from any two, three or four DIFFERENT Scott paper product categories.
Product categories include: Scott bath tissue, Scott paper towels, Scott napkins, and Scott flushable wipes. (Scotties facial tissue is NOT included.)
Buy 1 item from each of 2 categories and get a $2 Catalina
Buy 1 item from each of 3 categories and get a $3 Catalina
Buy 1 item from each of 4 categories and get a $5 Catalina
Note, again, that you must buy one item from EACH category to qualify for the Catalina. Buying 4 rolls of paper towels will NOT generate a Catalina as they’re all in the same category.
We’ve already got some great paper products deals running this week, but this one’s not bad if you keep it simple. Easiest way to do this one?
Buy 1 Scott paper towel roll and 1 single-roll Scott toilet tissue.
Pay $2.68 for both and get a $2 Catalina back. .68 for two is not bad if you prefer Scott products.
Scott’s has printable coupons for some products, including $1 off Scott Naturals paper towels. If the Naturals are priced the same as the regular Scott, it could be an even better deal. May All You has Scott coupons too, though other than the wet wipes, they’re for multi-rolls — and I think the ConAgra deal is better for multi-roll this week.
FREEZER DEAL MATCHUPS: If you did the 2010 Jewel Freezer Deal and are watching and waiting for Buy One, Get One Free sales to maximize your freezer coupons, Deans Churn Ice Cream tubs are B1G1F through May 16th! Get two free! And, Dean’s Ice Cream Sandwiches are also on sale B1G1F through May 2nd! Get two of these FREE too! (Note that there are many Deans frozen items on sale B1G1F right now, but the ad states “NO Mix or Match” so make sure you get two of the same ice cream sandwiches to maximize this coupon.)
We’ll be keeping track of the B1G1F sales for the freezer coupons in this Forum discussion.
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Lawry’s Marinades are on sale for $1 (through May 2) – already an EXCELLENT price, down from their regular price of $3.19. But use the .50 coupon from 4/18 RP or a printableand cut that price in half AGAIN… down to .50 a bottle… a steal!
But Lawry’s Marinades are also part of a national Catalina deal. Buy 2, get a $1 Catalina; Buy 3 get $2; Buy 4 or more, get $3. Oh yes, these are going to FLY out of the store. (Jewel managers reading this… order BUNCHES and bunches of these.) This Catalina runs through 5/16.
So, you could do this one a few ways. With one .50 coupon, buy 2 bottles, pay $1.50 and get $1 back – two for .50! With two .50 coupons, buy 2, pay $1 and get $1 back… FREE marinades! With three .50 coupons, pay $1.50 for 3 and get $2 back – moneymaker! With four .50 coupons, pay $2 and get $3 back… ALSO a moneymaker! Have fun marinade shopping!
Jewel is running a “2 for $4” deal on Homelife cleaning products through May 28. Buy any 2 in the ad and they’re $2 each, plus you get a free roll of Shoppers Value paper towels for every 2 you buy. As this is Jewel’s house brand, there aren’t currently any coupons available for these, but the best buy I see? Homelife cleaning/disinfecting wipes. A good comparable sale price for Clorox wipes is $2 or less per canister — but with the addition of the free paper towels, it’s not bad if you need them.
If you’re a fan of Jewel’s Wild Harvest line of organics, here’s your chance to take some home cheap or FREE! Print this $1 off any Wild Harvest coupon and look around the store — there are MANY Wild Harvest products that sell for $1, or close to it.
This week’s (April 19-21) best bets?
Wild Harvest organic mustard is on sale for $2.99, B1G1F. Use 2 coupons and pay .99 for 2, or under .50 each!
Wild Harvest reusable shopping bags – .99 – free with coupon
Wild Harvest canned beans – $1.29 at most stores – .29 with coupon
If you got the coupon for a free bag of SunChips a few weeks ago when I had it posted, you might want to use it at Jewel. Look for tearpads on the SunChips display for “Buy 2 SunChips, get a free reusable grocery bag.” If you like SunChips and don’t mind paying $2.99 for a second bag, grab a coupon and a free shopping bag too… these coupons expire 5/7/10.
Jewel’s house brand of diapers, Baby Basics, are a good buy with coupons! Jumbo packs are $7.99 each. Use these $4 printables here and here and cut that price in half… to $3.99 a jumbo pack of diapers! Jewel also has the value pack (cardboard case) of diapers on sale for $16.99 – with coupon, it’s $12.99.
Jewel meat deals:
- Fresh chicken drumsticks, leg quarters, thighs or whole fryers are .99/lb.
- Fresh cut pork chops are $1.49/lb.
- Fresh boneless, skinless chicken breasts are $1.99/lb.
- Perdue fresh split chicken breasts are $1.99/lb.
- Choice beef boneless chuck roast is $1.99/lb.
- Center cut pork rib or loin roast is $1.99/lb.
- Beef fresh cut eye of round roast is $1.99/lb.
- Fresh cut boneless pork sirloin is $1.99/lb.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry, or seafood) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices.)
Jewel produce deals:
- Roma tomatoes are .99/lb.
- Broccoli crowns or cauliflower are $1.49/lb.
- Fuji, Gala or Cameo apples are $1.49/lb.
- 5lb. bags of Idaho potatoes are $1.29 – great price!
- 2lb. bags of Farm Stand baby-cut carrots are $2.50 each
- 2lb. bags of lemons are $2.50 each
Lastly… if you did the Jewel Preferred Card Update promotion in 2009, the coupons for FREE products in the coupon booklet are expiring 4/30 – FOUR DAYS from now. If you haven’t used these up yet, do so now…
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
First off, if you go to Dominick’s, look for cardboard displays with coupon booklets in them. Dominick’s has been issuing a lot of these lately. 3 to look for:
“Serve up a Sandwich.” In addition to coupons for $1 off Miracle Whip, $1 off Grey Poupon, $1 off Ritz, $1 off Claussen, and $1 off Kraft Singles, there’s a coupon for $1 off any PRODUCE item with a $5 produce purchase. We love produce coupons…
Earth Day 2010 – $1 off Kraft Mayonnaise, $2 off Yuban or Maxwell House coffee, $2 off 2 Crystal Light.
Make It Tonight – 20% off all Waterfront Bistro seafood products in the same transaction, $.50 off Safeway Select Artisan French Bread, $1.00 off Safeway Select refrigerated pasta or sauce, $1.00 off Eating Right salad.
In my Super-Couponing 2 class, we talk about the year-long cycle in which certain categories of products go on sale at even deeper discounts than during the normal 12-week price cycle. April is a yearly-cycle low for cleaning products (if last week’s $25/$10 Catalina deal on them didn’t clue you in to that!) :)
Well, this week, the deals on cleaning products continue! Would you like some FREE Windex? (Of COURSE you would!) Windex is on sale for $3.50, but it drops to $1.99 a bottle WHEN YOU BUY 4 at a time (this may not be noted on the tags in the store though but it will ring up this way.) Use four $1 Windex coupons (3/21 SS, 1/10 SS (exp), printable, another printable, another printable) – pay .99 a bottle and get $4 back in Catalinas! FREE Windex!
Catalinas print through 5/16, though I’m not sure when the $1.99-when-you-buy-4 price ends.
Still on the topic of cleaners…
Many people have written to ask why I haven’t blogged the Scrubbing Bubbles deal at Dominick’s yet! Because my blog is beginner-friendly, and this deal involves a B1G1F coupon used with a dollars-off coupon at Dominick’s, I held off … but it is a GREAT deal – so stand your ground if you’d like to do it, as it’s absolutely a correct usage of both coupons*.
The deal is this. Scrubbing Bubbles Power Sprayers (Extend-A-Clean) are on sale for $7.99 each. Use the $5 coupon from 4/11 SS and it’s $2.99. Now, print this Buy Scrubbing Bubbles Power Sprayer, get Refill Free coupon. (The refill is $3.50, but it will be free with this coupon.)
So, pay $2.99 for both the sprayer and the refill. You’ll get a $3 Catalina back for buying the sprayer and a $1 Catalina back for buying the refill… that’s right, you’ll spend $2.99 and get $4! It’s a moneymaker AND your bathroom will be clean! Catalinas run through 5/16 for this deal.
* Dominick’s cashiers often misinterpret the part of their coupon policy with regard to B1G1F sales in the store. Dominick’s policy states that you cannot use a coupon on the free item during a Buy One, Get One Free sale. However, this does not involve a B1G1F sale in the store — you’re using one coupon “per item purchased,” ($5 on the sprayer, B1G1F on the refill) and it’s both correct usage and not against their policy.
Dominick’s is running a “Buy 5, Save $5” on Kraft cheeses. Buy any 5 Kraft cheese and save $5 instantly. As with any instant-savings sale, there are good deals and not-so-good ones, but here’s the hottest deal this time around:
Philadelphia Cream Cheese Minis – these are the individual tubs of cream cheese. They’re on sale for $1.49 each. Buy 5 and save $5 instantly, making these just .49 each. But of course, we’re going to use coupons to make this even better! The 4/18 SS has a .50 off coupon, 8/9/09 RP has a $1-off-2 coupon (exp.) and the “Make It Easy, Take It Easy” coupon mailer also has a $1-off-2 coupon in it. With any of these, your cheese is FREE (with pennies in overage!)
Look for a Blinkie dispenser near the cheese too. It’s got .55 coupons for Philadelphia inside! Yes, you read that right – free cheese WITH overage! Make sure you have some other items in your order to “eat up” that overage — produce is always a good thing to use! :) You can buy up to 4 rounds (20 cheese items) in one transaction for this Kraft deal.
If your store is out of minis, full-size bricks of Philadelphia are $1.99 – .99 each when you buy 5. Use the same coupons and they’re .50 each – also an excellent buy.
Bright Green Buy 2, Get 1 Free Instantly
If you like natural, recycled, or environmentally-friendly cleaning and paper products, you may enjoy this Bright Green “Buy 2, get 1 Free” sale! While Bright Green is a house brand for Safeway, there are lots of ecoupons available to make this deal even better. This deal runs through 4/28 (LAST WEEK!) Here are your products, prices and matchups (prices were collected at the Higgins Rd., Schaumburg store.) Note that you cannot print these coupons — they’re only available to LOAD to your Fresh Values card via the links. AND, if you plan to do this deal, bring a reusable shopping bag with you from home. You’ll save an extra 10% on Bright Green products. (Make sure to remind your cashier of this as they will need to enter this into the register for you.) 200ct. Bright Green recycled napkins – $1.99 ($1.79 with 10% savings) Bright Green facial tissue – $1.99 ($1.79 with 10% savings) Bright Green color-safe bleach – $1.99 ($1.79 with 10% savings) Bright Green 6-roll recycled bath tissue – $3.99 ($3.60 with 10% savings) Bright Green toilet bowl cleaner – $2.49 ($2.25 with 10% savings) Bright Green spray cleaner – $2.99 ($2.69 with 10% savings) Bright Green 28oz. phosphate free dish detergent – $2.99 ($2.69 with 10% savings) Bright Green dishwasher detergent – $3.99 Bright Green dishwasher rinse aid (it is a HUGE bottle) – $6.69 Bright Green 6-roll 100% recycled paper products – $4.99 ($4.49 with 10% savings) Bright Green phosphate free lavender fabric softener, 51oz – $4.99 ($4.49 with 10% savings) Bright Green 45-ct. 13-gallon biodegradable trash bags – $6.99 ($6.29 with 10% savings) Bright Green phosphate-free biodegradable laundry detergent – $9.99 for 100oz ($8.99 with 10% savings,) $13.99 for 150oz ($12.60 with 10% savings) |
Ready for some scenarios?
Note that the item you get free will be the least expensive of your three if you mix and match different-priced items. If you buy three of the same-priced items, one will be free. And, if you use electronic coupons here, the electronic coupon will come off the free item too!
For each of these scenarios, I’m also figuring on the 10% discounted price for bringing a reusable bag. If you don’t bring one, you will pay 10% more than these listed prices.
__________________________________________________
An all-paper-products scenario
Buy 3 Bright Green napkins and/or facial tissue – $1.79 each
Use $1-off-2 ecoupon and $1 off any Bright Green product ecoupon
Get one package free
Pay $2.08 for 3 – that’s .69 each – not bad at all if you need napkins!
__________________________________________________
Two all-natural laundry detergent scenarios
For those of you who’ve emailed me asking when we’ll have a good natural, chemical-free laundry detergent deal, this one’s pretty good.
Buy 3 Bright Green 100oz. laundry detergent – $8.99 each
Use $1 off laundry detergent ecoupon and $1 off any Bright Green product ecoupon
Get one bottle free
Pay $15.98 for 3 – that’s $5.33 each!
OR:
Buy 3 Bright Green 150oz. laundry detergent – $12.60 each
Use $1 off laundry detergent ecoupon and $1 off any Bright Green product ecoupon
Get one bottle free
Pay $23.20 for 3 – that’s $7.73 each for the BIG bottles.
__________________________________________________
Jill’s napkins-and-fabric-softener scenario
This was an easy one for me as we needed napkins, and I prefer natural, plant-based fabric softeners, which don’t often go on sale. (Most commercial fabric softeners use rendered beef fat as the softening agent, which just weirds me out..!)
Buy 1 Bright Green Fabric Softener – $4.49
Buy 2 Bright Green 200ct Napkins – $1.79
Use $1 off 2 paper products ecoupon (each pack of napkins now $1.29 each)
Use $1 off fabric softener ecoupon (fabric softener now $3.49)
Post-coupon total: $6.07
Minus Buy 2, get 1 free (napkins)
Paid $4.78 for all 3 – if you consider the softener at $3.49, the napkins work out to .65 a package.
__________________________________________________
Note (unfortunately) that these Bright Green ecoupons are ONE SHOTS – you can use them ONCE and then they’re no longer on your card. I was also surprised to see that they don’t show up at ALL on the receipt as a coupon. The price of the product is just automatically adjusted to the post-ecoupon price. My receipt shows 2 packages of napkins ringing AT $1.29 (for both) and the fabric softener at $3.49.
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Snuggle fabric softener is on sale for $3.99 each when you buy 2 or more at a time (through June 30 – LONG sale!) Buy two and use two of the $3 Snuggle coupons from 3/28 RP or 10/4/09 RP (exp) and pay just .99!
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Fresh whole fryer chickens are .77/lb.
- Pork Loin Rib half sliced is $1.49/lb.
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Red seedless grapes are .99/lb
- Red Delicious apples are .99/lb.
- Zucchini are .99/lb.
- Fresh green beans are .99/lb
- Navel oranges are .99/lb
- D’Anjou pears are .99/lb
- 1lb. bags of Eating Right baby-cut carrots are .99 each
- Fresh Express salads are .99 each for a 1lb. bag. If you have any expired tearpad coupons for “Buy 2 Fresh Express, get 2lbs. free bananas” this is a good week to use them – you’ll pay $1.98 for 2lbs. of salad AND 2lbs. of bananas!
- 10lb. bags of russet potatoes are $1.99.
Don’t forget to use the $1 off Produce coupon from the “Serve Up A Sandwich” coupon book currently on displays at Doms…
Before we leave Doms, there’s a coupon in the Thursday Dominick’s ad for a free reusable grocery bag with a $40 purchase of groceries. If you’re planning a big trip (definitely a possibility with everything else going on there this week!) clip this (or load one to your Fresh Values card here!) and get a free bag too! I have to say that the Dominick’s reusable bags are my favorite of all the ones offered in our local stores – they’re thicker and not as “floppy” as some cheap bags, they have strong handles, and they stand up, open, on their own. And FREE is, of course, is the best price!
AND… if you have the 2010 Entertainment Book, don’t forget that there are four $5 off $50 coupons inside the front cover too. These have staggering dates (one expired in the first quarter of 2010) and the next $5-off-$50 expires 4/30. Again, if you’re planning a big trip, use this too — save another $5 AND get a free bag.
If you haven’t ordered the Entertainment Book for this year, it’s also a great buy — Entertainment just reduced these to $15 each with FREE shipping! They do quickly pay for themselves if you like local coupons for restaurants, attractions, and even travel. Coupons I like – $20 off any American Airlines flight for up to 6 tickets, coupons for free weekend rentals for just about every rental car company out there, 15% off any Menards item (great for a BIG purchase!), $5 off at Ace Hardware, $10 gameplay at Dave & Busters and Gameworks, Buy One, Get One Free meals at TGI Fridays, lots of $5-off-$15 and $10-off-$20 restaurant coupons, B1G1F Domino’s pizza, free Auntie Anne’s pretzel, free Cold Stone Creamery ice cream… lots of good stuff. The Chicago book contains over $18,000 worth of coupons (yes, you read that right!) Worth checking out! Walgreens is still selling these for $25 each, so $15 is a great price.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals of the week for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, and St. Charles:
Meijer’s running a Catalina deal on General Mills products. Buy $10 worth of GM Cereal, Betty Crocker or Nature Valley and get a $3 Catalina back – or, buy $20 worth and get an $8 Catalina.
Honesrly, this is NOT a super-hot deal as the prices aren’t terribly low on these things, but one of my readers pointed out that it’s potentially a good sale for those eating a gluten-free diet, as many gluten-free products are included that might not normally wind up in Catalina promos. The ad shows cereals, cake mixes, granola bars, brownie mixes, muffin mixes, pancake mixes and more. Use the Coupon Lookup to locate coupons you’d like to use with this sale… and feel free to post any good deals in the Comments too!
Meijer meat deals:
- Fresh whole chickens are .85/lb
- Center cut half boneless pork loin is $1.69/lb.
- Ground Angus Beef chuck is $1.79/lb.
Meijer produce deals:
- Tomatoes on the vine are $1.29/lb
- 1lb. containers of strawberries are $1.50 each
- Michigan Ida Red, Red Delicious or Jonathan apples are $2 for a 3lb. bag
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES Meijer location, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the store is new, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…
Bumble Bee Tuna (2.5 oz.) is on sale for $1. Use the .55 coupons from 2/21 SS, doubled to $1, and it’s FREE!
Speed Stick and Lady Speed Stick deodorant is on sale for $1. Use the .50 coupon from 4/25 SS, doubled to $1, to make this FREE!
McCormick Grill Mates are on sale for $1. Use the .50 coupon from the 4/18 RP insert, doubled to $1, to make this FREE!
Shedd’s Spread Country Crock margarine is on sale for $1 too this week! Use the .40 coupon from 3/7 RP, doubled to .80, and pay just .20!
2-packs Dial bar soap are on sale for $1. Use the .35 coupon from 3/7 RP, doubled to .70, and take them home for .30! Prefer pump soap? Dial Complete Foaming Hand Soap is the same price – use the same coupon here instead, and it’s .30 too!
Kellogg’s Rice Krispies are on sale for $1.67 a box. Use the $1.50 off 2 coupon from 3/28 RP, buy 2, and take two home for $1.84, or .92 each!
Hilander meat deals:
- Tyson split chicken breasts, drumsticks or thighs are .97/lb
- Pork sirloin end roast is $1.67/lb.
- Boneless pork loin is $1.87/lb.
Hilander produce deals:
- Red or white seedless grapes are .97/lb.
- 1lb. bags of Kroger baby-cut carrots are $1
- Tomatoes on the vine are $1.48/lb.
Remember too that Hilander doubles coupons up to .55 face value every day!
Target is running a “Buy 2 and get a $5 gift card” deal on cleaning and paper products, as well as diapers (back page of ad.) Honestly, nothing here is terribly hot, though I know some readers may want to do this for the Downy or Bounce IF they didn’t stock up on it when it was super-cheap during the last Dominick’s Catalina deal.
Downy and Bounce are the least expensive items in the deal. Buy 2 at $8.99 each (120-load liquid, BIG bottle or 240-load Bounce – also big box) — pay $17.98 and get $5 back, making this $12.98.
Use any $1 coupons you have here. There’s a $1 Downy coupon in 4/4 PG, as well as in the P&G $100 Year Of Savings coupon book you may have requested in the mail (3/7 PG has a .50 Downy coupon too.) With 2 $1 coupons, pay $15.98 and get $5 back, making this $10.98 for 2, or $5.49 each. At 120 loads, that’s about .05 a load… not bad.
Not such a good deal on the Bounce, but you get more loads… 3/7 PG has a .25 coupon for Bounce. With one coupon, pay $17.73 and get $5 back — $12.73 for 2 is $6.37 for the 240ct. box, or about .03 a sheet.
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. You will need an internet-capable phone to take advantage of these, and they are Target store coupons that you can stack with.
SuperTarget meat deals:
- Market Pantry frozen turkey breast is .89/lb.
SuperTarget produce deals:
- Red seedless grapes are .99/lb.
PLEASE NOTE: Kmart is no longer accepting the (wonderful) $10-off-$20 printable coupon that they issued a few weeks ago. While it does not expire until 5/22, they said after over 400,000 uses of it nationwide, they pulled it. Do not try to use it any more — all stores have received notice NOT to accept.
It was fun while it lasted..!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

and was told my RR did not print because I used the 50 cent coupon. huh. oh well – I just wanted folks to know that is a possibility going into the Walgreen’s plackers deal.
Also a good deal at Walgreen’s – there is an in=store coupon for hershey’s big bars (as in 4-4.5 ounces!) And I used this in conjunction with $1/1 coupon from the 4/18 SS to make for a FREE big bar of hershey’s dark chocolate.. okay, so maybe a penny MM :o) I love free chocolate!

If you did the KMart Double Coupon deal at the beginning of April, check your Show Your Way Rewards card. Coupons apparently are deducted from your Rewards eligible purchases and the double coupons were deducted twice. I have heard of many people ending up negative on their Rewards cards because of this. Hopefully no one was really counting on the pennies received for your purchases.
I got this response from KMart about my inquiry.
Dear XXXX,
Thank you for contacting Shop Your Way Rewards regarding your rewards balance. Rewards are earned based on the amount a member pays for an item, prior to taxes. However, when coupons are used, the amount of the coupon is then deducted from the rewards account due to the discount taken off of the item.
We apologize for any frustration this may have caused. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
XXXXX

Now, I didn’t see anywhere in their ad or online where it states that the Rewards program will negatively impact a shopper for using coupons and, based on the double coupon deductions, you can apparently be negatively penalized for using coupons. This is pretty sad since you HAD to have a Rewards card to use the double coupons in the first place. Maybe they’re trying to phase out the Rewards cards.???
Between this and the $10-off-$20 coupon fiasco, I’m about ready to quit shopping at KMart.

The deal I did purchased 2 sprayers and got $12 in Cats back. Did I read that right when Jill said the deal is going to be around till May 15? I was under the impression that today was the last day. I wonder if anyone knows if the price will change at Dominicks. Currently it’s $7 for a sprayer and $3.50 for a refill (coupon is good up to $3.99).
roese7 says
Hey Jill, last time there was a $25/$10 Conagra deal at Jewel you outlined a Black Belt OR popcorn deal where you bought 7 boxes and it generated the Cat. Do you think it would work this time? That’s the only way this deal is worth it to me, I don’t buy the 100 calorie pack that the $2/2 coupons are good for so I’m working with some measly $1/2 and $.40 coupons. ;) Just wonderin’…
Thanks! You’re the best!!

1) I don’t have internet access phone and I can still go to the site the text tells me to go to and print the coupons up. It prints with a bar code and I can have the cashier scan the coupon bar! Worked great last week when I got some ziploc bags on sale used the $1 off and the BOGO coupon…two 28 count, gallon storage bags for $1.24!
2)At my jewel Reese Pieces were on sale 2/$5, used 2 $1 off from 4/18 ss, paid $3, got $1 YB back, $1 per bag.

What an AWESOME deal!
Stayfree pads are on sale for 2.99 with a 2.99 cat …you have to do them separate if you are doing more than one.
I just got 5 (had 5 2.00 off coupons) Inconvenienced the clerk a little by him having to ring each one separate, but after I was done I nicely pointed out that I just spent $6.00 (with tax) for all of those and then showed him my 5 $3.00 off your next order coupons that he just handed me. I got paid $9.00 to by 5 packs of maxi’s!!!
I couldnt find the kotex U’s though in the store I went to. Oh well I still have 4 more stayfree cpns so I will be making another stop at a different store later!!

There is a great deal going on at Meijer for baby formula. If you buy the Meijer brand of formula then you can get 2 for $20.00! The circular was in the Sunday Chicago Tribune. This week, there is still a Register Rewards deal for U by Kotex, but it is not as good as previous weeks. U products are on sale 2/$7 with $3 RR, like getting them 2/$4. With two $1 off coupons, you will end up paying $1 per box.

I am looking at all the Walgreens RR for free stuff this week and wondered…
…if I am paying cash and buy one of each item offered for RR, is their any conflict in getting the RR to print for each item? (parent company issue?)
frugalsheila says
I asked this in the Wags forum, too. The checker at Walgreens today told me that if I used a manu coupon for the Kotex U, I wouldn’t get a RR. Sure enough, no RR came out for the Kotex, but I got one for the Skintimate in the same transaction.
Someone in the Wags forum thought you had to purchase 2 Kotex for the RR, which means that Jill should probably edit her deals for the week. (Sorry!)
If Jill is correct, then what happened? Anyone else have trouble using a manu coupon and getting their RR?

Just a couple notes. I used 4 $5. RR today and the manager came over after the cashier accepted and said that they are to take only 2 of them as per the coupon. I didn’t even look at it so thought I would post.
Other thing is the $1.50 IP for the variety of Conagra items does not include the Healthy Choice soups. Still a great deal without it… but again, thought I would point it out on the LAST DAY! :-)

Has anyone tried purchasing “reduced fat” Peter Pan peanut butter? It’s not on the spreadsheet, but I am wondering if it has worked for anyone.

If you have the April AllYou, there was an insert in the center of the magazine that contained almost all of the items included in the deal. Because this is an insert, these coupons are not identified in the coupon list in front of the magazine and, so, are not on coupontom.com.
I would have posted sooner but I noticed this late, late last night.

I would like to know the ins and outs of catalinas before I take advantage of the deal on Scrubbing Bubbles and Windex at Dominicks. Especially since I hope to stock up on 2 “sets” of the Scrubbing Bubbles sprayer and refill and at the same time, 4 bottles of Windex. I don’t want to screw this up because if I remember, I am looking at three $4 catalinas.

I spent two hours in Walmart this morning trying to use some of my expiring coupons. What a nightmare! On my BOGO items the register would only give credit back for about half the amount of the free item. The cashier called for help. After about three calls the supervisor finally showed up. When it was totaled, the register wouldn’t let her complete the transaction because it said there were too many coupons being used. I finally asked them to give me my coupons back and to cancel the transaction. I felt bad for the cashier, but they really need help with their system.
I then proceeded to Target. It was a much better experience. Just one small glitch. The supervisor said that only one coupon could be used per purchase. When I mentioned that each item was one purchase she cut me off and said that she had spoken to her AP yesterday and that a purchase is the same as a transaction. I offered to pull my items and do another transaction, but she said she would override it this time. I’m wondering if they will be changing their policy in the future about a purchase and transaction now being the same thing!?
