Get set for another week of great deals! A big welcome to our Super-Couponers from this past week’s classes in Palatine, Carol Stream, Wood Dale, and Lake Bluff…
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. Unless otherwise noted, grocery store deals run through Wednesday of this week, and the pharmacy deals run through Saturday. And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing website for a list of FREE coupon classes and instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
This has been such a great month for deals! I hope everyone had fun with double coupons at Kmart last week — I myself did not even get over there until Saturday night, the last night of the sale… and I did pretty well, bringing home lots of pet food and treats, personal care items, cleaning products and baby care items… $74 worth for $5 and change after double coupons! Hooray! :)
This week, let’s start at Dominick’s, which has one of the greatest Catalina deals running right now that I’ve seen in a long time. (There are some weeks that Dominick’s is so far off my deal radar… and then there are weeks like THIS! :)
Dominick’s is currently running a “Living Well, Feeling Great” promotion in which spending $30 on any of the 3,000 (!!!!) items in the deal nets you a nice $10 Catalina afterward. The $30 price is pre-coupon, so of course we’re going to knock that number way, way down with our coupons… and take home as many things as possible for the least amount of money! And, a bonus – many healthy/organic items are included in the deal.
There are so many brands and products included in this. If you’re a spreadsheet person, perhaps you’d like to see all of them.
As always, I’ll post an easy scenario for you to do and really take home lots of stuff for very little. Remember, we need to hit $30 pre-coupon. Some of these items have Dominick’s store coupons attached to them (either from the Living Well ad available in the store — grab one when you go in, as you’ll need some of the store coupons to stack with this. It’s pictured at right!) Some are also on Dominicks.com.
Note too that Dominick’s stores accept expired coupons (in fact, I just got an updated policy this evening emailed from Dominicks.com, which states that they accept ALL current and expired manufacturer coupons! :) I’ll add that to the blog soon, but if an expired coupon applies to the deal, I’ve included it here as well.
1 DelMonte SuperFruit cup (small refrigerated fruit cups) – $1.50
$1 off – 3/1 RP
2 DelMonte Orchard Select or SunFresh (jarred fruits in refrigerated section) – $2.50 each
$1 off (print 2.) Note: Do NOT check the box for the SuperFruit coupon too on this page = it’s at its print limit, and if you check it, none of the other coupons will print. Also print the $1 grapefruit bowl coupons from this page too…
2 DelMonte Citrus Bowls (sliced grapefruit in bowl – produce dept.) – $3.00 each
$1 off – 3/1 RP and link above as well
1 CapriSun Sunrise – $1.49
$1 off – 4/19 SS AND $.50 store coupon from Living Well ad in store
(Note: CapriSun are on sale for $1.99, but Dominick’s store coupons will reduce the total counted toward $30, so with this coupon, $1.49 will count as the price.)
1 Electrasol/Finish dishwasher detergent – $3.99
$2.50 off – 4/19 SS
(Note: There are some older packages of Electrasol that ring up at $5.99. These will NOT work in the deal because the old UPC is not included in the system. Make sure yours rings at $3.99 (if it says “Finish/Electrasol” on the box and is a variety tagged with a white LW tag on the shelf, it should be fine.)
2 tubs Smart Balance Buttery Spread – $2.50 each
$1 off 2 – 2/1 RP and 4/5 RP
1 Smart Balance Butter Blend sticks – $2.50
Buy Smart Balance tub, get sticks free – 3/1 RP
2 6-packs of Ice Mountain 700ml bottled water – $1.99 each
(Look on package – some have $1 peelies, or use $1 off 2 coupons from 8/24/08 RP, 10/5/08 RP. If you don’t have these, don’t worry – the deal’s still great! I’ll figure the end total assuming these coupons aren’t used, but if you’ve got them, use them! :)
1 Reynolds Wrap Recycled aluminum foil – $2.29
.55 off – 4/19 SS
(or, .50 off if you don’t have the insert)
Pre-coupon total: $31.75 (note again that with the store coupons, the after-store-coupon price is the one the register will calculate.)
Post coupon total: $19.20. Pay $19.20 and get a $10 Living Well Catalina back, plus a bonus $2 Catalina for buying 2 Ice Mountain! That’s an INCREDIBLE amount stuff for just $7.20! If you have an Ice Mountain coupon, you’ll bring that down by another dollar too.
And, if you signed up for the Reynolds Wrap free aluminum foil rebate for Earth Day, you can submit your receipt and get $2.29 back for that foil as well. Then, even including the cost of the stamp to mail it in, you’ll be at $5.33 for ALL of those groceries!
Now, there are so many other items that you can work into this deal that you might want to do it again… and again… and again. (I have done it ten times already!) Remember to take the $10 Catalina from your first transaction and use it to pay for the next one… and you’ll bring your bill down even more, and get another $10 Catalina each time. I’d highly suggest clipping some of these other coupons too in case your store is out of any of the items — that way, you’ll have things on hand that you can substitute into the deal too :)
Here are some other items that you can work into this deal quite nicely:
Sun Chips: $1.99 (use coupon in LW flyer to get this price)
$1 off Sun Chips – April All You
$1 off 2
Note that the $1.99 LW coupon is 1 per transaction. Be aware that if you buy 2 Sun Chips in the same transaction, one bag will ring at $1.99 – the other at $3.00.
Fiber One Toaster Pastries: $2.00
.50 off – 4/19 SS
Bertolli bagged pasta sauces: $2.00
$1 off – 4/5 UN
.60 off – 4/5 UN
$.75 off – 10/12/08 RP
$1.50 off 2 – 10/12/08 RP
Note that these pouches are no longer issuing extra $2 Catalinas, but they’re great filler items too at $1 a pouch with the top coupon.
Goodlife cat and dog food – $4.99
$2 off – 3/8 RP, 1/4 RP
$2 off
$3 off
Dreamfields pasta – $2 a box
$1 off Dreamfields
$1 off – 2/2 SS, 2/29 SS, 10/26/08 SS, 9/28/09
$1 off 2 – 3/15 RP, 1/18 SS, 10/26/08 SS
$1.50 off 3 – 10/26/08 SS
Chinet paper plates – $3
$1 off – 1/25 SS, 11/23 SS
Look for peelies for B1G1F plates – if you find them, with a coupon, you’ll pay $2 for 2 packages of plates… but get $6 toward your $30 total!
Starbucks ice cream pints – $3.50
Use $1 coupon from LW flyer stacked with $1 printable. Note that only $2.50 will count toward your $30 with the store coupon.
Organic milk: VERY good prices during this deal! The LW flyer has a coupon for .50 off O Organics milk. It’s $3.49 a half gallon, and with the coupon, it will be just $2.99 — AND you get credit toward the $30/$10 promo too. Horizon organic milk is also part of the deal. It was $3.99/half gallon at my store, and with the .55 printable from Horizon’s site, it’s $3.44.
Kashi frozen pizzas: They’re $4.99, and not too long ago, there were tearpads at both Jewel and Dominicks for $3 off the pizzas. (You are saving a few coupons for good deals later when you see them, right?) If you saved some of these, use them now — they’ll bring your pizzas down to $1.99 each, but you’ll get $4.99 credit toward your $30 total!
Ocean Spray Cranergy juice: $2.99 a bottle, and forum reader fmr118 noticed $2 hangtag coupons attached to the bottles in some stores! With the coupons, you’ll pay $.99 a bottle but get $2.99 credit toward your $30…
Progresso Soup: $2 a can
2/8 GM – .25 off one, .50 off two, or $1 off 4
1/4 GM – .50 off two, $1 off 4
12/7/08 SS – .50 off 2, $1 off 4, $1.50 off 5
Special K bars, cereal, and crackers – $2.79, $2.99, $3.19
.70 off – 2/22 RP, 4/5 RP
$1 off 2 bars – 4/5 RP
$1 off crackers
If you buy 3 Special K products through Wednesday, you also get a FREE case of Refreshe bottled water ($2.99 value.) The water’s value does not count toward the $30, but the Special K’s price does. Details are in the weekly Dominick’s flyer.
Bright Green products: The Bright Green facial tissue is $1.49, and napkins are $1.99. Color-safe bleach is $1.49, and toilet bowl cleaner is $2.50. If you need small fillers to get to your $30 total, these work well with the Bright Green $1 off coupons in the LW flyer in store or at Dominicks.com. (Note too that because these are store coupons, the register will note .49, .99, or $1.50 toward your total – your POST store-coupon total – so keep that in mind.)
So, if you’re feeling adventurous, let’s go for another round! Here’s another order you can do, especially if you like organic milk:
1 O Organics half-gallon milk – $2.99
Use in-store .50 coupon from LW flyer in store
2 Horizon Organic half-gallons milk – $3.99 each
.55 printable from Horizon’s site or 6/22 RP
1 Del Monte DelMonte Citrus Bowl (sliced grapefruit in bowl – produce dept.) – $3.00
You’ll still have 1 $1 coupon left from the ones you printed above… use it here
1 Sun Chips – $1.99 with coupon from LW ad in store
$1 off Sun Chips – April All You
1 Baked Lays potato chips – $3.00
$1 off Baked Lays – March All You
1 Fiber One toaster pastry – $2.00
.50 off – 4/19 SS
1 Breyer’s Natural ice cream – $4.99
.75 off – 4/5 U
4 Sobe Lifewater – $1 each
B1G1F Sobe (print 2)
1 Bright Green facial tissue OR Bright Green bleach – .49 (we need this as a filler, as we’re at $29.95 without it…)
Use $1 coupon from LW flyer in store or Dominicks.com to get it for this price.
Pre-coupon total: $30.44
Post-coupon total: $23.09
Minus $10 LW Catalina from last transaction: $13.09
Minus $2 Ice Mountain Catalina from last transaction: $11.09
Pay $11.09 and get another $10 Catalina!
If you have multiple copies of inserts, you can mix and match even more items into the deal. I’ve had a blast shopping this sale these past few days!
This is another FABULOUS deal you may wish to do. I don’t buy bottled water unless it’s ridiculously cheap or FREE, which this is!
Ultimate Ice Mountain Bottled Water Deal
Buy 16 Ice Mountain 6-packs – $1.99 each
Total: $31.84
Receive $10 Catalina for Living Well sale plus a $2 Catalina for every 2 6-packs, for a total of $26 back in Catalinas! $4 for 96 bottles of water!
With five $1-off-2 Ice Mountain coupons, ALL the bottled water is FREE! With six or more coupons, it’s a moneymaker, and you’re getting paid to take the water home! You will also get a $1 off Ice Mountain Catalina at the register, which you can use to repeat the deal!
Also note that there is a misprint in the current ad. It has Progresso soups listed as part of the promo at $1 a can. They are actually $2 a can – I got excited thinking I’d get overage from my $1.10 printables from awhile back! There’s a sign in the store stating the error.
The deals site SlickDeals has done a very extensive matchup list, pairing almost everything in the spreadsheet with coupon matchups here too. Feel free to post some of your scenarios too! I’ve gotten lots of email over the past week asking exactly what I’m buying and what I’ve done… so I’ll share some of my trips with you too in the Forum.
One thing to note too is to ALWAYS look for the white shelf price tags noting that the items are involved in the Living Well Catalina deal. The spreadsheet contains some items (namely, Classico alfredo pasta sauces and Healthy Choice Steamers) which are supposed to trigger the Catalina but have been doing so with mixed results, because at many stores they’re not tagged as part of the deal. My advice? Stick to the tagged items – it’s no fun to blow a Catalina deal because of one item, even if it’s “supposed” to be in the list.
If you’re shopping at Dominick’s, these may be other items worth picking up! Don’t include them in your total to reach $30, but get them if you’d like them as the prices are cheap this week!
Mission flour tortillas – $1.25 each
$1 off Mission – .25 a package
2 jars Classico pasta sauce ($2 each)
$1 off 2
$1 off 2 – 10/19/08 SS
NOTE: There is a separate deal running at Dominick’s where if you buy 2 jars Classico, you get 2 boxes of 12-16 oz. Safeway pasta for free, through this Wednesday. So grab those too. Also note you can only do this deal once per transaction though, so if you want to do it again, split 2 jars, 2 pasta per transaction. And yes, some flavors of this are supposed to be part of the LW promo, but not all are working – simply buy if you like getting 2 jars of sauce and 2 boxes of pasta for $3 :)
And lastly, if you have other shopping to do at Dominick’s and push your pre-coupon total to $50 or more, there’s a coupon in the weekly flyer for a free reusable Dominick’s shopping bag too. Of all the bags I collected from area stores during Earth Day promos last week, I have to say this is my favorite – strong handles and sturdy sides! I’m trying to use more reusable bags in my shopping. Plus, free is good!
Heading over to Jewel, their great ConAgra foods promotion is back! When you spend $25 on selected ConAgra products, you’ll receive $10 back at checkout for your next trip (two $5 Catalinas.)
Here are the products and coupon matchups for the deal:
Chef Boyardee – $1 off 4 – p. 88 May All You (newsstand edition)
Manwich – $1 off – p. 88 May All You (newsstand edition)
Hunt’s Snack Pack Pudding – $1 off 3 – p. 88 May All You (newsstand edition)
Hunt’s Ketchup – $1 off 2 – p. 88 May All You (newsstand edition)
Peter Pan peanut butter – $1 off – p. 88 May All You (newsstand edition)
Pam cooking spray – .35 off – 3/29 SS
Marie Callenders frozen meals (Complete or One Dish Classic) – $1 off 2 and $1 off 1 – p. 105 May All You, .75 off – 3/29 SS
$1 off Marie Callenders
.75 off Marie Callenders
Healthy Choice frozen meals – $1 off 2 – 4/5 SS
$1 off Healthy Choice
$1 off 2 (different)
Orville Redenbacher microwave popcorn – .40 off – 4/19 SS and $1 off p. 88 May All You (newsstand edition)
Hebrew National beef franks
$1 off Hebrew National
Reddi-Whip – $1 off – p. 88 May All You (newsstand edition)
Yes, there are a LOT of coupons in All You this month for the deal! Unfortunately, this month, All You has decided to include MORE coupons in the newsstand edition than in the subscription one, which irks me very much as a subscriber. But, if you plan to buy a lot of these items, it may be worth picking up a copy just for the coupons. (All You sells for $2.49 at Wal-Mart.)
Many people have written to me to complain about them putting more coupons in the newsstand edition. I would highly suggest you email or call All You directly and let them know how much you’re dissatisfied with this. In many cases, they’re offering to extend your subscription for a time for free, but I think it’s important to let them know this is a BAD move.
I’ve heard of numerous people going to the newsstand to get it and finding these coupons ripped out of the ones in the store – and I included that in my email to All You that they really should put the same coupons in ALL issues, or people will probably just keep vandalizing the newsstand copies. Okay, off soapbox now :)
Now, if you’ve been with my site for a while, and you have your black belt in couponing, so to speak, you know how these deals can work out even better for us… at Jewel, these Catalina deals often operate on the regular/sale price of the item, not the Preferred price. This means that we actually can spend less than $25 out of pocket and receive our Catalinas too.
Be aware that Jewel recently dropped the prices on something like 4,000 items in the store, so if you’re working the deal this way, you may want to use the price scanner or self-checker to determine the -actual- non-Preferred price of the item as the shelf tags may even be incorrect. Your pre-tax total must be over $25 to get the Catalina.
IF YOU ARE NEW TO COUPONING and what I just wrote makes no sense to you: You will not want to work the deal in this way. If your Catalina doesn’t print, you will have NO recourse to get it back, because the ad states that you must spend $25 with your Preferred card on these items. If you spend $25 Preferred prices, you’re guaranteed to get your Catalina each time.
A couple quick good deals at Meijer this week…
If you didn’t use your .75 off Breyer’s ice cream as part of the Dominick’s deal, Breyer’s is on sale for $2.50 a carton. After coupon, it’s just $1.75!
Also at Meijer, Colgate toothpaste is $1.50 a tube. With the $1.50 coupon from the March All You, it’s FREE! 4/26 SS, April and May All You all have $1 coupons too, so you could pick more up at .50 a tube…
Over at Target, if you’re not using your Special K coupons in the Dominick’s deal above, you may want to use them at Target. Target’s offering a $5 gift card with the purchase of 5 Special K items. The cereal, bars, cookies and crackers are $2.39 each.
Here are those coupons again:
.70 off 4-ct – 4/5 RP
$1 off 2 – 4/5 RP
$1 off crackers
2 crackers and 3 bars will cost $11.95 pre-coupon. With the coupons above, you will pay $8.25 and get a $5 gift card back! 5 boxes for $3.25, or .65 each!
Heading to Walgreens, let’s pick up some more freebies this week… Nivea body wash is on sale for $4.99. When you buy it, you’ll get a $4.99 Register Reward, making it FREE. Use the $1 coupon from 4/19 RP and you’ll actually make money on the deal :)
Rembrandt whitening toothpaste is on sale for $5.99 a tube. Pay $5.99 and get a $5.99 Register Reward, making it free!
Campbell’s soups are .59 each with the coupon from the weekly Wags flyer. Use this $1 off 2 coupon and take them home for NINE cents each!
Over at CVS, Garnier Fructis haircare products are $2.99. When you buy a bottle, you’ll get $2 in Extra Care Bucks. Use a $1 coupon from 1/4 RP and it will make your Garnier FREE!
And, the Home Made Simple promotion is back! Register for a free book of coupons – they’re all P&G products, and these books typically contain a coupon for a free bottle of Cascade Crystal Clear too.
Lastly… a free tiny lunch. Print this coupon for a free pulled pork sandwich at White Castle!

Thanks, Jill, for another week of great deals! I took your SC1 class at the end of last year and SC2 last month. I’ve been seriously couponing since January. After my SC1 class and your story about them only accepting one coupon on an entire cart full of groceries, I was terrified to step foot into Dominicks! However, after gaining confidence and knowledge (not to mention an impressive stock pile of food and toiletries) over the past few months at Jewel, Wags, CVS, and Target, I’m ready to head into the great unknown and get some great deals at Dominicks this week. Thanks again!

I have done the Jewel deal 2 times and Dominick’s 3 times. Thanks to my sister I found $1.00 coupons for the new Cottonelle Ultra bath tissues. They were at Jewel right by the tissues on the back of the sample packs. So I took 4 of them to Dominick’s and did the following:
4 Bath Tissues (12 dbl rolls)- sale price $6.49 each
4 Zatarains Rice – 3 for $5.00 (abut 1.67 ea)
Used 4 $1.00 coupons for tissues, 2 $.75 Off 2 coupons from 02-08 RP and $10.00 cat from previous deal. Total prior to coupons $33.99 (inc tax), total after coupons $18.49. Once I checked out I received another $10.00 cat and 2 $1.00 cats compliments of Cottonelle. Looks like for every 2 bath tissues we get a $1.00. So this brings my total down to 16.49.
I thought that was a great deal for lots of TP.

If you go to Jewel this week and you didnt use the coupon from SS 3/8 for free Marcal Small Steps toilet paper or paper towels or facial tissue I finally found the Marcal paper towels at Jewel last night. This coupon expires on the 30th. If you did not use it yet take it with for free paper towels. I did not see this brand at Dominicks.

Hi Jill! The coupons from All You for Redi Wip and Manwich don’t seem to match for size with the Jewel deal this week. Do they still work?
tctbtob says
Just got off the phone with All You cust. service and they did add 1 more month to my subscription for my “inconvenience”. Told her I appreciated that but it didn’t solve the problem. They do not have coupons to send (I tried that one) and I was told that the people who buy the magazine in the store pay more than subscribers do. My reply “so I should cancel my subscription?” of course they didn’t want that. I asked that my complaint be sent to someone at corporate and that if this happens regularly I will continue to call and complain. I asked her if they were getting a lot of calls about this, she said they were. Really not fair! I don’t ever shop at Walmart and the thought of having to go there to get the magazine just irks me because I do not want to give Walmart any of my money. UGH!
jenschopp says
Does this stack? Can I buy 10 of them and get 10 RR’s? Or do you have to do them in different transactions. Also, Walgreens does not let you Roll your cats right? But you can use them at Jewel?

Do you get a new catalina for every $30 you spend or just one no matter how much you buy at one time? Thanks.

I was a little sad when first read that part of the deal, knowing I’d already used mine last time they were on the Avenu…but then I read the post re: updated link—- YEA!!! I really like this pasta, and even more delicious since it’s CHEAP :)

For Jill’s first deal, it looks to me like you could actually get 2 Smart Balance sticks free (if you have another coupon). The coupon says get one free when you buy one tub. Well, you’re buying two tubs so you can get two sticks free. Jill, am I correct?
jstub says
Jill I’m sooo disappointed I didn’t get to Kmart last week. I heard they extended their double coupons to this week. Did you hear anything about this? Also how often do they do this during the year?
dancingwolves says
you are not able to combine the $30, i.e. do over $60 or $90 and expect two or three $10 Cats, so you have to do separate $30 transactions? Never mind found your answer…

Went to Dom’s last night, thought I got a great deal by accident. The healthy choice dinners are on sale for $2.99 each (regular price was $4.49). I didn’t realize they were part of the living well, because I didn’t see the tag by them. I was just planning to buy them because I could get them for less than half of their regular price. If you buy 5 of them, they drop the price to $1.99 each. I bought ten. Just buying those alone would have put me at $29.99, a penny shy of the $30. Had 5 Q’s for $1/2. The receipt showed the $2.99 each. I did also buy 2 packs of the Bertoli sauces (luckily), wilth Q’s $1 each. I spent $20 and some change, but I had a couple other items I bought. If you just look at the HC and the Bertolli here’s the senario. HC $29.99 + Bertolli $4. =$33.99 minus $5.00 (HC Q’s) minus $2.00 (Bertolli Q’s), then the $10 came off because I bought 10 of the dinners (price was only $1.99 each because I bought the multiples of 5). You pay $16.99 then you get the $10.00 cat. So the cost for the 12 items was $6.99. That’s approximately $.59 per item. I hope my explanation isn’t confusing. If you only buy 1 Bertolli it would be about $.54 per item. The best part of this is that I didn’t realize I was getting the cat. Ok you math majors, check my work :-)

Jill, pasted here from above: (The deals site SlickDeals has done a very extensive matchup list, pairing almost everything in the spreadsheet with coupon matchups here too.) This list printed from “here too” does not have the items on it that you listed above. Ex. Sun Chips, Baked Lays, O Orgnanics. None of these are on the alphabetical list from Slick Deals. What is the best way of viewing all of these products. I want a plan before I get to the store. Thanks so much for your assistance! Theresa S

I just started this this week and I can’t believe the deals I got at Walgreens using qs from this Sundays paper. There was a $4 q for air wick scented oil kit and it was on sale for 4.99. I also found qs for the listerine and schick razor. My best deal was on the ecotrin. I had a $2.25 off coupon from the internet ( I don’t remember where I got it from). When it beeped when the cashier scanned it, I said it was probably because the ecotin was only $2 and she hand entered it to give me the 2.25 off. When the rrs printed out, I also got another $2 off q for ecotin-it’s like a whole extra rr!
Thanks for a great site!
Bargain Babe says
FYI, the Jewel coupon book from the Preferred Card update promo has Ice Mountain manufacturer Q’s in them ($1 off 2) – and no mention of the orange “J” word on them so you can redeem at Dom’s!

I just want to make sure about this: the prices you list in your deals of the week end on the Weds of every week, right, Jill? According to the fliers, they go from Thursday to Wednesday. So we need to make all our Jewel and Dominick’s buys by Weds- am I correct?

I was at the LITH Domincks on Tuesday and there was no white LWFG tag on the Smart Balence products, it looked like they were maybe torn off the shelf. The I can’t believe its not butter products were tagged. Since I know people have been mysteriously not recieving the CAT, I stayed away. I did the deal with only tagged items and rolled it 2x, no problems. Now I am gathering q’s for my next trip and was wondering if anyone has tried the smart balence in the last 2 days and if it worked?

I have shared most peoples negative attitude about Dominicks but this weeks deals were too good to pass up and I bit the bullet, got my shopping list and coupons and off I went. Well, the first Dominicks didn’t even have 1/2 of the products I was looking for (causing me to do ad-hoc math in my head to recalculate!) The products they did have (Smart Balance tubs, not sticks) were priced $3.98 not $2.50. I even had the cashier double check for me. Rather than do two $30 purchases, I was only able to do one and walked out frustrated.
Then, when I saw the incredible “buy 2 cokes, get 2 free and 1 free Dasani”, once again, I couldn’t resist. The second Dominicks actually had the Smart Balance marked correctly and I asked the service person why there were different prices at different stores. She told me that the stores were broken down into different “zones” and were not consistent with one another on prices. In addition, the two 12 packs of coke were DOUBLE the price I usually pay thus making the “free” ones not so free. One 12 pack was $5.99 – a price I would never pay for a 12 pack.
Unless Dominicks is handing out free bags of groceries on the sidewalk, I will not be going back!

I went to Dom’s tonight, saw a few price changes….saw the Ziplocs no more 2/$5….I wanted to get them because it spits out a $1.25cat, but the prices went up on these today……still in the LWFG promo, but price change….Also the Hebrew National are no longer 2/$6….., also, the Breyers turned BOGO @ $6.xx, so i didn’t get that either…..

One of my readers emailed asking for a scenario involving the cases (big box) of Huggies diapers and the LW promo.
The big boxes of Huggies are $20.99. To drive the price of the diapers down as much as possible, we want to fill that last $9.01 with things that will be dirt cheap or free after coupons, so that the $10 Catalina savings applies mainly to the price of the diapers.
So, this would be a possible scenario:
1 box Huggies – $20.99
$1.50 off – 4/19 SS or RedPlum printable
1 DelMonte SuperFruit cup (small refrigerated fruit cups) – $1.50
$1 off – 3/1 RP
1 CapriSun Sunrise – $1.49 (.50 coupon from LW flyer, plus $1 coupon from 3/1 RP
1 Electrasol/Finish dishwasher detergent – $3.99
$2.50 off – 4/19 SS
Bertolli bagged pasta sauce: $2.00
$1 off – 4/5 UN
1 Bright Green bottle of bleach or box of facial tissue (filler to get us over the $30 mark): .49 after coupon from LW flyer
Total: $30.46
After coupons: $23.46
Pay $23.46 and get $10 back – you’ll bring the diapers and everything else to $13.46. If you have higher-value Huggies coupons (they mail out $3 coupons often, and the person who emailed me said she had some of these) – use that instead, pay $21.96 and get $10 back.
If you have a $10 Catalina from a previous transaction, roll that in as well – then you’d pay $11.96 and get $10 back.
You can mix and match whatever you want into this to get to $30. If you’re lucky enough to find Cranergy juices with the $2 hangtag coupons on them, you could do a scenario like this:
1 box Huggies – $20.99
3 Cranergy – $2.99 each
1 Bright Green bottle of bleach or box of facial tissue (filler to get us over the $30 mark): .49 after coupon from LW flyer
Before coupons: $30.49
Minus $3.00 Huggies coupon and 3 $2 Crangery = $21.49
Minus $10 Catalina from previous transaction = $11.49
Pay $11.49 and get $10 back.
OR, if you’re REALLY lucky…
1 box Huggies – $20.99
6 Ice Mountain 700ml 6-packs bottled water @ $1.99 each
Before coupons: $32.93
After $3 Huggies coupon: $29.93
Minus $10 Catalina from previous transaction = $19.93
Pay $19.93 and get $10 LW catalina plus $6 additional catalinas for buying Ice Mountain… giving you $16 back, and bringing the price of that big box o’ diapers down to just $3.93.

Hey Joan,
How are you?
Actually the glitch with your Ultra order wasn’t the coupons. The Catalina company had forgotten to program in the ice cream. That’s why your cat came up short. All is fixed now. Also they did not have a list of eligible items and I was told it was only those posted in the ad. But we know that isn’t always true and sure enough Lipton Soup Mix was not in the ad but is a Unileaver product and it generated the Cat. I did the deal several times with coupons so I can verify that coupons do not affect the generation of the cat. Hope this helps ; >)

I’ve been using the coupontom site (a great site!), but have come upon a couple inconsistencies. I’m assuming that different geographic areas have slightly different coupons- I don’t have some coupons that are listed and I DO have some extra ones that aren’t listed on the site. Does anybody know of a good way to deal with this problem?
