A cheap “All Snacks, All The Time!” scenario

Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Athenos Hummus dips are on sale for $3.99, Buy One, Get One Free. Use this B1G1F coupon, buy two, and get BOTH free! Scheduled to run through September 22!
Mini Super-Couponing lesson: Why does this work? When you use a B1G1F coupon during a B1G1F sale, you will buy none and get two free. Here’s why… and remember, it’s important to think of your coupons AS cash. If you walk into the store and give them $3.99 in cash, how many packages of Athenos will that pay for? Two — because the store is selling you two for $3.99. Now, look at your B1G1F coupon. What is its value? Up to $5.49. Think of coupon as stating “up to $5.49 off two packages of Athenos,” and when the price of two packages of Athenos is $3.99… the coupon’s up-to-$5.49 value pays the entire price. You WILL pay tax on the pre-coupon price, as always… but both item will be free.
It’s important to note too that you do not get coupon overage with a free or B1G1F coupon when the value is “up to $5.49.” Legally, the cashier must enter the price of the first item, which in this case is $3.99. The store’s B1G1F sale makes the second item FREE. If you like learning coupon tips like these, check out my Super-Couponing workshop or DVD!
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? If not, you’re missing out on some GREAT coupons! Jewel has been making coupons available for everything from meats to party trays to free bread and free produce over the past few weeks. I’m impressed with the nice coupons Jewel has been sending to their email subscribers lately & would highly recommend getting on their list if you shop there.
Coupon booklets currently found at Jewel
Fall coupon book – $18 worth of manufacturer coupons – here’s a list of what’s inside.
Kellogg’s Fuel For School $20 coupon books – on a school-bus cardboard display at many stores — here’s a list of what’s inside.
Jewel meat deals:
- Perdue fresh chicken thighs, drumsticks or whole fryers are $1.49/lb.
Jewel produce deals:
- Wisconsin green cabbage is .59/lb.
- California green or black seedless grapes are .99/lb.
- Sweet onions are .99/lb.
- Roma tomatoes are $1.99/lb.
- Golden Delicious apples are $1.49/lb.
- Michigan eggplant is $1.49/lb.
- Michigan green beans are $1.49/lb.
- Vine ripe tomatoes are $1.49/lb.
- Peaches or nectarines are $1.99/lb.
- “Dinosaur Egg” pluots are $1.99/lb.
- Wild Harvest organic celery hearts are $1.99 for a 16oz. package
- 1lb. containers of strawberries are $3.99, B1G1F (works out to $2/lb.)
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
If you haven’t been loading electronic coupons from Cellfire, Shortcuts and PGEsaver lately, take a minute to go load a bunch of them up, as there are some good freebies this week with electronic and manufacturer coupon stacks, like…
FREE Pillsbury Sweet Moments refrigerated brownies. They’re on sale for $1.99 with Super Coupon. Head to Cellfire and load the $1 ecoupon, then stack it with a $1 manufacturer coupon from 8/8 GM, or a printable (another printable here too, in case the first link hits its print limit sometime this week.) $2 in coupon value on a $1.99 item equals… FREE!
FREE Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough. It’s also on sale for $1.99 with the same Super Coupon as the Sweet Moments. Head to Cellfire again and load the $1 ecoupon for $1 off 2 Pillsbury cookie dough. Then go to Shortcuts and load another $1-off-2 Pillsbury cookie dough ecoupon. Finally, cut some manufacturer coupons to work in here too! By far, the very best one to use, if you’ve got it, is the $1 off Pillsbury Simply Cookie dough from 12/13/09 GM (exp) and 9/13/09 GM (exp). If you have these, buy 2 packages of cookie dough. With TWO of these coupons, both packages are FREE!
With one $1 manufacturer coupon, you’ll ultimately pay .98 for two, or .49 each!
If your insert collection doesn’t stretch back quite that far, here are some other coupons to use… $1-off-2 Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough in 2/7 GM (exp,) 12/13/09 GM (exp,) 12/6/09 SS (exp) or printable, printable, printable. With the electronic coupons and one $1-off-2, you’ll pay .98 for two packages, or .49 each!
Note that the $1.99 Super Coupon does NOT include the Pillsbury Holiday (Back to School) cookies — I tried them just to make sure. Stick to the blue and white bagged kinds.
And, repeats from last week….
FREE Tide Stain Release (again!) It’s on sale for $5.99 with Super Coupon. Use that, plus the $3 ecoupon at www.pgesaver.com and stack it with the $3 manufacturer coupon from 8/1 PG, 7/4 PG (exp) 5/2 PG (exp,) 3/28 RP (exp,) or 1/10 RP (exp) or a printable — you’ll have $6 savings on a $5.99 item, making this FREE!
.49 Glad resealable bags. They’re on sale for $2.49 (through Oct. 31! No Super Coupon needed.) If you have the “Make a Muscle” coupon book currently available at Doms, load this $2-off-2 ecoupon from Cellfire, and stack it with the $2-off-2 manufacturer coupon in the “Make a Muscle” book. Buy 2 and pay .98 for BOTH, or .49 each!
Most of these sales involve Dominick’s store Super Coupons from the weekly flyer too, so I’ll post those deals in the Super Coupon spot below, as I do every week — but these are too good to be missed, and I wanted to make sure everyone saw them, so I put them right on top!
Reader Jewelover spottted a deal on Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon. It’s on sale for $1.99 a package when you buy 5 at a time. Use a combo of $1 printables and .75 coupons from 3/21 SS (exp) to cut this to .99-$1.24 a package! Also look for $1 peelies on the product itself.
Here’s a little yogurt deal! Dannon Activia is on sale for $2. Use $1 coupons to cut these down to $1 for the multipack:
$1 off Activia: 8/8 SS, 7/18 SS (exp,) 6/6 SS (exp,) 5/2 SS (exp,) 3/28 SS2 (exp,) 2/28 SS (exp,) 2/7 SS (exp,) 1/10 SS (exp.) This sale runs through October 20th!
Another yogurt deal! Go-Gurt is also on sale for $2 a multipack. Load the .75-off-2 ecoupon from ShortCuts. Stack this with a $1-off-2 from 5/9 SS (exp,) 2/21 SS (exp,) or 1/3 GM (exp,) and pay $2.25 for 2, or $1.13 each!
If you have two of the ShrekTacular coupon books (again, available in stores back in May) there are $1 off ONE Go-Gurt coupons inside. With two of these, pay $1.25 for 2, or .63 a multipack! The Que Rica Vida “Regreso a Clases” (Back to School 2010 issue) – [General Mills’ free Spanish coupon magazine] has a $1 manufacturer coupon inside too!
Many readers have written to say that 6.8oz. bottles of Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotion are on sale for $1.99. With the $3.75 coupon from 4/11 RP (exp) it’s FREE! Note that I visited three different Dominick’s in my deals research trips this week and only found this size stocked at one location… but if you can find it… nice!
There’s a little deal running on Almond Breeze almond milk and cereal. Buy ANY one box of cereal AND Almond Breeze (which is on sale for $3.29 at most stores) and get a $3 Catalina. Use a $1 coupon from 5/23 SS or from current coupon dispensers at Jewel or a printable to knock down the price of Almond Breeze to $2.29, and it’s even better! And, if you read down to the Super Coupons section of the Doms Deals, you will find plenty of FREE and cheap GM cereal to work into this little deal.
This deal is scheduled to run through 8/31. Almond milk lovers, have fun — but remember to split your transactions up with cereal/almond milk, as I am hearing it does not stack up (buying 2 does not generate $6 in Catalinas, etc.)
“Buy 4, Save $4” instant-savings sale Oh, this one is HOT. Buy in quantities of 4 and receive $4 instant savings. You can buy up to 20 items in the same transaction. Prices shown are post-instant-savings for these items IF you buy in quantities of FOUR. Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks – .99 each

“Spend $25, get $10 for the Gift Card Mall” Procter and Gamble Catalina sale Note that the Catalina you get must be spent at the DOMINICK’S Gift Card Mall (kiosk in store) and cannot be spent on a Safeway/Dominick’s gift card. The Catalina produced is also a store coupon, so unlike the last Gift Card Mall Catalina, you can’t take it to Jewel and get a Jewel gift card with it (as many did with their Gift Card Mall manufacturer Catalina from the last Jewel gift card deal, converting it to a Dominick’s gift card.) If you want to convert it back to something close to “cash,” your best bet is a Shell gasoline card.) Honestly, if not for the exception of being able to use expired coupons on this sale, this deal would be a yawner. Many other blogs are sitting this deal out too due to the gift card “force.” But if you’d like to go for it… read on. I collected prices and products for this at the Lake in the Hills and Carpentersville locations. Other sites are welcome to repost this list if JillCataldo.com is credited. Thank you! Also note: The Catalina alert that’s printing for this sale also shows some Duracell, Iams, Mr. Clean, and Oral B brand products, but after visiting two different Dominick’s stores and finding none of these brands tagged for the sale, I did not list them in my matchups, because I had no way of knowing which items were actually included. If you find tags on these brands and would like to post products/prices in the Comments, I’ll add matchups for them. Again, NOTE THAT PRICES CAN VARY AT YOUR STORE. One reader has already written to say that their local store has Old Spice body wash at a different price. Always, always verify that you’re over the $25 mark before coupons! As usual, there are Dominick’s Super Coupons* in this week’s ads too. These are store coupons, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. Best bets?

Want FREE marinade? Many Dominick’s will marinate your fresh meat free at the meat counter, so depending on what you’re buying, you may want to take advantage of that.
Dominick’s seafood deals:
- Fresh farm-raised catfish fillets are $3.99/lb.
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Large yellow peaches are .99/lb.
- Black seedless grapes are .99/lb.
- Jumbo Vidalia sweet onions are $1.29/lb.
- Large hothouse tomatoes are $1.69/lb.
- Large navel oranges are $1.69/lb.
- Whole seedless watermelons are $2.99 each
*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases after your Club Card discount is applied. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (after Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals of the week for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, St. Charles, and the Indianapolis area:
The white-hot deal this week? Smart Balance Milk. Half-gallons are on sale for $1.99 each, and look… there’s a $2 coupon in the 7/11 RP! FREE milk! Oh, but let’s not stop there. Meijer Mealbox has a $1 STORE coupon to stack with this! So, you’re potentially looking at free milk with overage, but overage doesn’t always work at Meijer. Longtime reader BlueDemon20 posted a great way to pretty much ensure you’ll get the overage though… buy more Smart Balance milk with it.. So, if you had two $2 manufacturer coupons and printed two $1 STORE coupons, buy THREE cartons of Smart Balance. Your two $2 manufacturer coupons make the first two cartons free, and the $2 in overage from the store coupons makes the third free. So smart! Enjoy that free milk!
UPDATE: Reader Icoupon2 points out that Smart Balance milk has fish oil in it. Those with fish allergies should be aware of this, as well as those who… just don’t want to drink a milk/fish oil concoction, I suppose…
Still at Meijer, there’s another sweet deal running on Mott’s Applesauce. 6-packs of cups or 46-48 ounce jars are on sale for $1.67 each. Now, to do this deal well, you’ll need either the “Make a Muscle” coupon book currently available at Dominick’s or the Jewel Fall coupon book, which is just starting to hit Jewel locations. For each coupon you have, you’ll also want to print a $1-off-2 Mott’s applesauce store coupon from Meijer Mealbox.
If you have the Dominick’s book, there’s a $2-off-2 Mott’s coupon inside. If you have the Jewel book, there’s a $1.50-off-2 Mott’s coupon inside. Doing the math yet?
With the Jewel coupon, buy 2 ($3.34, minus $1.50 Jewel manufacturer coupon, minus $1 Mealbox coupon) and pay .84 for TWO, or .42 each!
Or…
With the Doms coupon, buy 2 ($3.34, minus $2 Doms manufacturer coupon, minus $1 Mealbox coupon) and pay .34 for TWO, or .17 each! Either way, that’s some cheap applesauce!
(And really, don’t you just laugh when non-couponers say silly things like “Why don’t you just buy the store brand?” Because the store brand is never selling for .17 a jar :)
Contessa frozen meals are half off this week, with many priced at $3.50. Use the $1.50 coupon from 6/2 RP and pay $2! Nice and cheap to have on hand for busy nights you don’t feel like cooking dinner :)
Keebler Town House and Club Crackers are on sale for $2 a box. Use the .75 off Town House Flatbread Crisps from 7/11 RP and stack it with the $1-off-2 crackers store coupon on Meijer Mealbox. Buy 2, and you’ll pay $2.25 for both, or $1.13 a box. If you get multiple papers/inserts, this deal’s even nicer… with two .75 coupons, you’ll pay $1.50 for 2, or .75 a box!
Skippy Peanut Butter is $1.67 a jar. With coupons, it’s even better… print a $1-off-2 coupon from Meijer Mealbox and stack it with the $1-off-2 from 8/1 RP. You’ll pay .67 a jar…
Reader BlueDemon20 also spotted small sizes of Cutter insect repellent on sale for $1.45. With the $1 coupon from 5/23 SS, it’s .45…
“No Coupon Needed” deals…
1lb. packages of Meijer butter are on sale for $1.79 each…
Half-gallon cartons of Meijer orange juice and orange juice blends are $2 each…
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Meijer is the only store I know of that actually runs instant-savings deals on socks and underwear! (Hey, we all need them.) Meijer produce deals:

Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES Meijer location, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the store is newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…

Remember too that Hilander doubles coupons up to .55 face value every day! You are only allowed to double two of the SAME coupon per day though — additional coupons will ring at face value. (Split your trips if you’re stocking up!)
Readers outside Illinois will want to check with their local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated stores to determine how they handle coupon doubling.
If you haven’t printed the great $1 off produce and $1 off bread Target coupons yet, print them! We LOVE coupons like these. Get some cheaper produce (must be over $1) and also look for loaves of bread in the $1-$1.29 range. :)
Juicy Juice drink boxes aren’t a bad price this week. They’re on sale for $2 each. Use a $1 Target store coupon and stack it with the $1-off-2 manufacturer coupon from 8/1 RP or a printable. You’ll pay $2 for two, or $1 each!
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Cesar dog treats are on temporary price cut at his store for $2.99. Use the $2 manufacturer coupon from 8/8 RP and stack it with the $1 Target store coupon from 5/23 RP! Your dog will enjoy his or her FREE treats!
Attention Axe fans! Here’s a good deal on Axe body products. Axe gift sets are on sale for $6.99 each at Target. The gift sets include either 3 body sprays, 2 shampoos (large and small sizes) or shower gel & detailing tool. When you buy 2, you’ll get a $5 Target gift card! Let’s add coupons…
– $1.50 off shower gel gift set – 8/1 RP
– $1 off shower gel gift set – 8/1 RP
With these two coupons, buy 2, pay $11.48 and get a $5 gift card — that drops the price to $6.48 for 2, or $3.24 each. With two $1.50 coupons, pay $10.98 and get $5 – $2.99 a set.
AND… if you use Target’s mobile coupons, there’s a bonus $1 Target store coupon to stack! With that, you’d pay $9.98 for two and get $5 = $2.49 each.
This is an unadvertised sale, so scan your Axe gift sets at the price scanner to see the details of the gift card promo. If the item you’re buying is included, the price scanner will show it as a qualifying item for the deal.
Sale runs through August 28th.
The Big Swiffer Deal
(This deal’s legendary! If you hold your coupons and play them right, it’s always cheaper to buy a Swiffer and a refill than buying the Swiffer or the refill alone. I’ve done this deal numerous times over the past few years in one form or another…)
You’ll need the Target store coupon for $3 off the Swiffer Starter Kit from the 6/27 Target insert (some editions of the Tribune did not receive this insert) and the “Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit, get a FREE refill coupon from the Home Made Simple: Decor Done Right coupon book.
Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit ($8.99 at most stores.) Your $3 coupon knocks this down to $5.99. Now, get the LARGEST Swiffer refill you can find, as the coupon does not specify a size or quantity for your refill. (I like the 36-count Swiffer wet floor wipes, which usually sells for $14! It comes in a large cardboard “case” as opposed to the plastic tubs, and I’ve only seen this size at Target.) Pay $5.99 for the Swiffer AND the wipes — that’s cheaper than buying the wipes alone.
Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. They are Target store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with. Load coupons here. You can also print these offers by going to www.target.com/save and entering your phone number.
Remember too that you get .05 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use!

NOTE though that if you have a front-loading washing machine, you may not want to use these. While Purex says they’re safe for front loaders, there are many accounts on the internet of these getting stuck in the washer’s pump or mechanism, and it happened to one of my blog readers too. Just an FYI.
Also at CVS, Right Guard and Dry Idea deodorants are also on sale for $4.99, Buy One, Get One Free. Use the B1G1F coupon from 7/25 RP here, and you’ll pay .50 for two! (Why? The B1G1F coupon’s value only goes up to $4.49, so you pay the difference.) Still a cheap option if you need discount deodorant!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

These deals are coming to you a few hours early thanks to my garden, which has produced so many green beans and cucumbers that I’m going to be canning vegetables all night tonight! :)
Truly, if you have ANY yard space at all and have never grown a garden before… next year, you should consider it! Even a small garden, raised bed or container garden can produce lots of vegetables. Mine is not large by any means, nor do I spend enormous amounts of time tending to it, but you should see all of the beans, peas, zucchini, cucumbers and tomatoes it has produced already this year. And of course… the very best “free” produce is grown outside the back door, organically without pesticides :)

Thanks for the early post. Enjoy all of those fresh organic veggies!

I haven’t set foot in a Dom’s since the brouhaha earlier this spring and the nightmare stories about their coupon acceptance policies, but I have to say….. Jewel is KILLING me lately. There is NOTHING going on there. I may have to break my boycott of Dom’s soon.
I have a bunch of RRs to spend, so I’m sure I’ll be at Jewel tomorrow morning. But I may stop by Dom’s as well.
Momof3Js says
Does anyone know if the Tide stain release is similar to Oxyclean? I was wondering if the white powder in the pack is similar. Do you think the Tide SR work well?
Thanks!
Macnmom says
I got mine at target a long time ago. It is concentrated and a small container, so you only need a quarter of a cup or so. The lid fits on the container and is used to measure. The container is light weight and fits in my upper cabinet well. My husband likes to buy detergent at Sam’s club, but he doesn’t think about how heavy it is for me. These last a long time, clean the clothes well and smells good.

I attempted to purchase the Right Guard at my local Walgreen’s and the Manager would not let me use the BOGO coupon, since he said they were already BOGO free. So, I emailed the corporate office and this is the reply that I got, (essentially telling me that the manager was correct:
I’m sorry about your recent visit to your local Walgreens. We try to educate our employees on the the correct use of all manufacturer coupons.
Unfortunately it sounds like they might not of explained the correct use of your BOGO manufacturer coupon. To use it as the manufacturer intended
you would need to buy at least one item to get one free. Since the item was already on sale for BOGO, the best deal would be to purchase four. This
way you would get four for the price of one.

Fiber One bars are part of the NV granola bar cat as well. I think you can mix and match them (Fiber One + Nature Valley) to reach the amount for the cat ($3.50 wyb 5 etc).
I broke my Doms embargo tonight to try it out. You’re killing me, Jewel!!
Sassy Shopper says
Went to Jewel last night, I got 3 boxes Hamburger Helper, 3 boxes Chex Mix bars, 2 Pillsbury Grands biscuits, 2 Pillsbury Sweet Moments, green grapes (.79/lb in Yorkville for re-grand opening), Pepperidge Farms Deli Flats, 2 lbs Purdue Ground Turkey (BIGIF) and today’s Sunday Tribune. With all of my coupons and $15 in CATs, spent $0.28 out of pocket. Add in the 50 free boxtops and it is fabulous! I want to frame that receipt!!!!
Jill’s teaching works!!!!

Hey Jill–looks like Dom’s has won you over lately. Under the Jewel “Buy 10, save $5” section, you wrote, “Ready for some “Buy 4, Save $4 instantly” scenarios?” But the Buy 4, Save $4 is at Dom’s.
C’mon Jewel…pick up the pace a bit here, would you? Dominick’s is stealing your thunder.
Fabulous write-up, Jill! As always, thank you so much.
DiamondCass says
I have to agree. I’ve only made 2 trips to Dominick’s since I started SC-ing, and neither of them went as planned, so even though things might be cheaper at Dom’s, I prefer to go to Jewel where it always ends up exactly as I expect!! (OK, to be fair, the nearest Dom’s is also at least 15 mins away, and Jewel is across the street. haha.)
Jill, this week reminds me how much work you do!! (while again I have to agree I wish more of it was at Jewel!!) Going to multiple stores, price checking, trying different varieties to see if they work in the sales… You are amazing. Thanks again for all you do!!
libuse says
Jill, I saw you wrote that with the “PGEsaver” coupons, you can only use them ONCE per month. Is that the same with the CELLFIRE and SHORTCUTS coupons? Or can you use them unlimited? Can I buy a few of the same item and that coupon will apply multiple times?? Also, the Pillsbury Sweet Moments coupon is listed TWICE on the cellfire coupon site. Does that mean I can do that deal TWICE? and in the same transaction?
also, I always wondered how this exactly works anyway. We are stacking Manufacture coupons on top of these…and these aren’t “store” coupons and they seem to not be “manufacture” coupons, so what category do they exactly fall into so that we can stack them like this?
Thanks
Tallgal6 says
I have never been a big Dominick’s shopper but have to agree with others that I feel like I need to give it a try this week…hoping Jewel kicks it back up again soon as they will always be my favorite place to shop. Anyhow, I have never used the PGeSaver and was wondering if it works multiple times in one trip for same items? For example, if there is a $3 Charmin PGeSaver and I buy 4 Charmins, will I get $12 off? I appreciate someone’s response, and apologize for my ignorance :o)
roese7 says
Hey Jill! I wanted to let you and everyone else know that the Bounty and Charmin P&G ecoupons you have listed above to do the “Spend $25 get $10 off a gift card” sale at Dom’s aren’t a match. The ad states that it’s 6 or 8 roll Bounty paper towels and 12 roll Charmin for $6.99. The P&G ecoupons are $3 off 12 roll or larger Bounty and $3 off 24 roll or larger Charmin. That’s too bad because that would’ve been an awesome price!! Oh well, I guess I’ll just be buying fruit snacks, granola bars and cereal this week!
Enjoy this beautiful day!!
Susan123 says
Hi Jill!
I stopped in at Dom’s to do another round of Simply Fruit Roll-ups (love this deal), and happened upon a Duracell tag in the check-out lane. I had two kids in tow so wasn’t able to snap a picture of the inclusive tag but it was for an 8-pack of Duracell AAA for $6.99 (seems high to me). So, for what it’s worth!
Thanks for all your work!

Does anyone know which Meijer has Smart Balance milk? Last time it was posted as a sale, I asked and they told me they don’t carry it, only SB butter, and I said but it’s in your add and Mealbox coupons and they said maybe that’s for Indiana stores. This was in Bloomingdale store. And, for the record, the milk doesn’t taste fishy at all, it just has good stuff in it.

went to cvs with the b1g1 coupon for sobe and they told me they arent going to honor those anymore.
went to walgreens for the b1g1 on right guard and the cashier was awful. she was so rude and she wouldnt even look me in the eyes while telling me no! Anyways, she ended up letting me use the coupon then adjusted the tax so i was taxed for both and not just one. I havent been paying attention to this stuff since I am new at it, but do you always get taxed for free things? I bought 4 waters at cvs and only got taxed on 2…. can someone explain this to me?

Can a Kraft catalina from Meijer be used at Dominick’s? I just realized my $5 cat expired yesterday!

I went to Dominick’s today to buy the Nature Valley granola bars/clusters, Tide Stain Release, Fiber One & Progresso. Before I went I loaded all of the coupons to my Dominick’s Card. At the register, none of the online coupons were deducted. I went to the Service Desk and the manager gave me a cash refund for the value of all of my coupons. Did I do something wrong? I added them and went to the store-is there an extra step that I’m missing?
heybets30 says
I bought the blue package 12 rolls = 24 rolls. nb – it does NOT say Mega, double, or anything like that on the package I bought. The P&G site clearly says on “Mega” paks or 24 rolls…. so perhaps the package MUST be coded as such?
But, the AH Dom’s had a special with the TP as $5.99 instead of $6.99, so all is not lost.

What do the ecoupons look like on a Dominick’s receipt? I don’t think I’ve been getting mine at all in the past few weeks. Is it the Cardsav line on the receipt? I’m new and a bit confused :)
My other question is in regards to the catalina deal for the gift card. The CS person told me the $25 was post coupon, so don’t you have to spend $25 out of pocket to get the $10 gift card? Or is she confused? I realize with coupons you can get more for the $25, but that was just not my understanding from the scenarios outlined. Thanks for all your advice and help for a newbie :) I can’t wait to take the second class next week – LOL

PS When they issue rainchecks do they factor in the catalina you would have had printed into the price?

Has anyone verified the price of the 12 roll Bounty?? I accidently purchased the 6=8 roll and the $3 ecoupon did not come off of course. I might exchange it for the 12 roll if it is the same price.

Fresh collection not on sale in Orland or Homer either. But I cant see how the math matches up on the scenario either…Jill gets it down to 8.95. I got all the e-coupons to work and I had to use 2 more b1g1 instead of the $3-off-2 body wash and $1 off 2. (thought they were better coupons anyway) still payed a lot more then 8.95. Payed 16.??. Not a moneymaker for me :-( But still not bad. The prices were exact in the store as the scenarios 2.99 for deodorant and 3.49 body wash.

I am trying to get the Chex Mix coupons and I am clicking on the links next to Chex Mix in the Jewel section and all I see are coupons for the Chex Mix bars not the bags of mix…
Also under Dominick’s I cannot find a $2 off 2 coupon from Cellfire for the Glad bags…
Is it just me?

Anyone else have trouble with Wags and the free gum deals? The coupons at Wags for stride wouldn’t work since the gum was a bogo. They said their system won’t allow it. Also, trident didn’t match up. They said I had layer Q’s and the sale was for the regular only. Also, beware of the difference in prices on the Right Guard products. Make sure you purchase the $2.99 priced items. The sales tags covered the prices and I assumed they were all $2.99 until it was wrong up. Had to go back and change out for the correct priced item.

Every time a good deal comes up at Dom’s, I try it. And every time, I get a crabby cashier who won’t take my coupons for made-up reasons XYandZ. I think I’ll just stick with Jewel- even if the deals are good! Also, my e-coupons did not work. Has anyone else’s worked lately?

Everytime I click the link for a PGE Saver coupon, it tells me “there are no coupons in your area at this time”
I’ve changed my registration address/zip code twice, and it still tells me that, no matter what location I choose. Then when I go to register my Dominicks card, it adds it, but when I log out I get an error message that says “unable to update user”. When I go back, my card is no longer saved.
Please tell me someone knows how to fix this? It seems like there are a lot of coupons on this site and I really want to be able to access it!
Thanks!

Did anyone receive these catalinas from Dominicks when purchasing 4 granola clusters or 4 boxes of fruit snacks? I made these purchases today but the catalinas did not generate.

Today I broke my boycott of Dominick’s and went to buy some granola bars and fruit stuff. It was like entering with fear and trepidation. I got my stuff, had a checkout man who scanned all the coupons (including a $4 Jewel catalina I put in as a test)without saying a word. I got two catalinas afterwards and was HAPPY!
Now, I have a question. On the receipt it has “CardSav” and money off. Is that from my Fresh Value Saving? It also has some immediate “Mfr. eCoupon. Is that from loading my card? Last, I have the “scanned coupon” and those are the ones I gave him. So, did I use an eCoupon and Scanned coupon stacked?
I might even darken their doors again.

Of course, after the 3 days it took to get my Dominick’s card activated (and multiple trips to the store just for that purpose) all of the NV nut clusters and Simply Fruit snacks were gone at both my local Dominick’s stores. I was able to get a rain check, so what I am wondering is if the Betty Crocker Catalina deal goes for a while still??? Does anyone know when it ends?

I’m pretty new at this, but since I started couponing with Jill in February this year, I get excited about the great deals listed for Dominick’s (like the fruit snack’s, Cereal, FREE Tide Stain release, FREE Pillsbury Sweet Moments, etc… this week). I always have all of my coupons lined up, make sure I have my cereal, granola nut clusters, granola bars & fruit snacks in groups of four, and head off to Dominick’s with the hopes of getting tons of stuff for minimal out-of-pocket money.
I get there, and their shelves are empty, including the TOP of the shelves where the extra stock is kept. There are products (like the Rold Gold pretzels that are advertized in their fliers) that this store has stopped carrying completely. They run out of all of the sale items! Additionally, the company(ies) that stock the coupon books apparently do not get up to Gurnee anymore…there are never any coupon books, and the women at the service desk have told me that “the coupon people haven’t been around in a long time.”
I do have to give the employees of this Dominick’s an “A” rating for being very helpful, cheerful and all around great people to be around…the store and the way it is run just really STINKS!
My husband won’t come with me shopping anymore to Dominick’s because we go from one aisle to another, down my grocery list, and they don’t have any of the things on the list!
I just wanted to share my 2-cents worth and air this frustration.
Has anyone else had this trouble in Gurnee? Is it any better in Vernon Hills? I have thought about making the trip down there if there happens to be something REALLY great that I really need…
Thanks!

Okay, so I followed (or tried to) the deal with the Bounty, Charmin, Crest, Febreze, and Cheer. Literally printed it out, but still picked up the 8 roll of Bounty, which was priced at 6.99. My purchases added up to over $25, but no cat for the gift card. What mistake did I make? I asked at cust service today, without my receipt b/c I didn’t know I was going back today, just doing some shopping for my mom, and the person told me OBVIOUSLY I didn’t pick the right products. I’m pretty sure I checked the signage before I picked things up and all of them had the tags on the shelf. Anyone have any ideas on what I did wrong?

At my Dom’s, in Crystal Lake, I asked about the coupon books. The customer service person says that 1 or 2 ladies come in and take hundreds to sell on ebay. That infuriates me – ugh! So, please, if anyone buys coupons on ebay, please don’t buy from someone who has many postings as they got it by depriving the rest of us of our one copy! I was thinking of asking the stores if they would consider having the coupon books behind the counter, so that you’d have to ask and they wouldn’t give one person hundreds. They probably won’t do it as the customer service people have other duties, but its an idea. They did have the “Make a Muscle” book behind the counter for a $1 donation :)

Two trips to the Countryside store this week and both were equally frustrating. No Granola Clusters, coupons wouldn’t scan and OUTDATED Crescent rolls. I was charged incorrectly for a product and as such not only paid more but had the coupon rejected by the cashier. The Catalina printer was horrible. The coupons were a pale pink. I took them to customer service BEFORE I left the store and they couldn’t scan them either. The woman was very nice and initialed them. Somehow that still didn’t make up for having to wait in line to have the store validate THEIR OWN coupons. I wrote corporate twice (who just refers to store manager). I will be visiting with the store manager today. It is just an extreme waste of everyones time and resources (printer ink, paper, gas etc.) to have to experience this with every shopping trip. I’m not giving up and I’m asking all you shoppers who have the same type of experience to report the incidents to corporate. Perhaps if enough people complain something will be done about it!
