(Anytime meat is under $2 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $2 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices. This is also true for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less.)

Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.

AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they typically haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
Coupon books to look for at Walmart: “Bright Ideas, Delicious Cereals“ (Kellogg’s cereal and breakfast coupons)
Gain dish detergent is .97 every day at Walmart. Use the .50 coupon from 8/14 RP and pay .47!
Policies to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”
I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.
Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?
I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
However, if there IS an ad with noteworthy sales or I’m aware of great coupon matchups, you’ll find those here too.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* All You magazine: If you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s an inexpensive magazine ($2.49 an issue) that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! Subscribing via the pink banner on the right drops the price to $1.67 per issue. Depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

I found these on sale 3/$5 at Jewel. There is Q in today’s 8/31 SS for $1/1. I needed a filler to be able to use the $6 off $60 I had received in the mail so I bought 3. To my surprise I received a catalina for $1.00 off a future meat purchase. I also received the catalina alert: Buy 1 or more Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Dinner Kits Between 8/21/11 and 9/3/11 and Save $1.00 on a future Meat purchase. I have a question. If you buy only 1 at a time do you still receive the sales price of $1.67 or is 3 required?

Hi there,
First-time couponer. I found this deal at Meijer:
The clear Palmolive 24oz at Meijer is $2.49. Each bottle should have a $1.00 off “try-now” manufacturer instant coupon around the neck. Then mealbox has a $1.00 off three coupon you can print out. So the final total is:
Regular price: $2.49
Instant Coupon: -$1.00 applied to 3 bottles ($1.49 x 3) = $4.47
Mealbox $1.00 off 3 = $3.45 (Meijer rounds the meal box coupon to $0.34 each)
Per item final price = $1.15 each
How did I do?

My coupon for the 2.50 off reach says you need to buy listerine too. Is there another one? The trial size Cascade at Walmart is that by the Cascade or near the trial size items. I have never seen it either place. HELP!!!

I brought in the OfficeMax add for .15 Crayola crayons (24 pack). The manager said they would not pricematch, because the add listed a “limit of 2”. She said that whenever there is a limit to the item, they will not honor the pricematch. Did you know this was their policy?
mamagatz says
There is a list of products for a Jewel cat that includes Nice-n-Easy hair color. In the 7/17 SS there is a coupon for $5.00 off 2 boxes of Clairol hair color and the picture shows many different boxes. So it’s part of the cat that isn’t interesting me because I don’t have a multiple insert for that week, but even at the sale price of $5.99 X 2 = $11.98-$5 = $6.98 for 2!

I just went to SavingStar to update my coupons and on the last page(#4), it has POM juice, 16 oz, save $1.00 and Aleve 20 ct or higher save $2.00 and both say “SOLD OUT”!! Why would they be sold out? I haven’t used either of them and they aren’t expired. Is there a limit on how many people can use that deal?

Hi, I am new to this and I am trying to use a grocery list matchup site. They refer to coupons based on circular and date, correct? I get the RP, SS, PG, etc. But one with only a single letter S keeps showing up. Where are these coupons found? Thanks for any info.!

So, I’m also new to this, and I have gone to the coupon match up sites, but for some reason also feel the need to then check for the items I didn’t see coupons for. Ex: Jewel has a sale on hunts ketchup 4 for $4, if you buy 4 jewel gives you $1 back on next trip, so now I’m trying to find coupons for the ketchup to make it even less…am i going about this backwards?

Great price to add to a school lunch!

I went to target today and picked up a travel size tide and used the dollar off PG coupon. It worked no problem. I also picked up the trial size cascade. But when I went to use my dollar off PG coupon, the cashier’s computer would not accept it. She said it does not work for the trial size. Has this happened to anyone else? There was a 3 count pack and a 4 count pack, both priced at 1.09 I grabbed the 4 count. Maybe the 3 count would have worked?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the Clairol scenerio does not work because the Q is for the foam hair color, which at my Wags rang $7.99 and did not produce a cat. The regular hair color did ring $6.00 but the Q is for the foam. Trying to let others know-just in case I am right.
