Another cold week… and yet, I’m kicking things off with a deal that’s likely to warm some of my readers right up..!
A tip of my Santa hat to my many blog readers, who posted a super-hot liquor deal over the weekend… and I’m putting this at the top of the list especially for Johnny B, who’s been asking when we’d have a good deal on booze..! Hee. (I don’t drink, but if you do, it’s hard to get it much cheaper than this…)
Jewel is running a special on 750ml bottles of hard liquor. Bottles of Captain Morgan spiced rum and Smirnoff vodka are on sale for $12.50 each. If you buy 6 bottles at the same time, you receive an instant 10% off. There’s also a $25 mail-in rebate for the bottles.
So… the math works like this:
6 bottles @ $12.50 ea. = $75.00 – 10% ($7.50) = $67.50
Minus $25 rebate = $42.50, or $7.09 per bottle.
Not bad, but let’s make it better with coupons! And YES, there are coupons for liquor. (By now, you should know there are coupons for EVERYTHING…)
In the 11/9 RP there are coupons for $5 off 2 bottles and $2 off one bottle. Using these coupons at the time of purchase will take an additional $7 off, bringing your 6-bottle total down to $35.50, or $5.92 each. That’s less than half price!
Now, as with any deal, the more coupons you have, the better! If you happen to get two newspapers, as I do, you could add the second set of coupons in, and it would take $14 off your $42.50, making your 6 bottles just $28.50, or $4.75 each! That’s about a third of the normal price. The price doesn’t get much better than that…
Note: I know some of my readers live across the state lines. These coupons state on them that they are only good for residents of AZ, FL, IL and NV… so Wisconsin and Indiana readers, unfortunately you’ll have to sit this one out.
Want even more cheap alcohol? CVS pharmacy has a rebate on Popov, Seagram’s 7, Seagram’s VO, and Gordon’s gin. Buy 4 bottles, get $12. Buy 6 bottles, get $20. Buy 12 bottles, get $50 back on the rebate. Use the $5 off 2 coupon from 10/12 RP and you can make this deal a little sweeter too. (Prices for the alcohol vary by CVS location, so I have not posted them.) And unfortunately, this coupon is also only good for the states listed above.
Now that you’re all warmed up..! Let’s get some food.
Jewel has General Mills cereal and granola bars on sale 4 for $8. Use the $1 off 2 coupons from 12/7 SS, 11/9 SS (there are 2) – and/or the $1 off 3 from 11/2 and 11/16 SS and…
$8 – two $1-off-2 coupons = $6
This brings your cereal to $1.50 a box… not a bad price, but if you want to pay even less, keep reading, as I have more cereal deals down the page…
The Wild Harvest organics sale continues at Jewel this week… Print some $1 off Wild Harvest coupons from their site and get ready to shop!
Wild Harvest Baby Food:
Stage 1 jars are 59 cents, and Stage 2 jars are 79 cents. With a dollar coupon, get this baby food for FREE! And, at many stores, you’ll also get overage with this coupon, which means the store is essentially paying you to take home free food! (Remember, overage is a privilege, not a right — but it certainly is one of the greatest bonuses of coupon shopping!)
Wild Harvest organic milk – $3.69 at most stores, so $2.69 w/coupon
Wild Harvest tortilla chips – $2.89 B1G1F – $0.89 for 2 bags w/2 coupons (through Jan. 11)
Wild Harvest soymilk or ricemilk – $2.59 B1G1F – $0.59 for 2 cartons w/2 coupons (through Jan. 11)
Wild Harvest canned vegetables (not all Jewel locations carry them, but many do!) $1, so FREE after coupon

Over at Walgreens, take home some FREE Reynolds Wrap! It’s on sale for 99 cents with the coupon on page 16 in the current weekly flier. Pair this with the $1.00 off coupon from 11/16 SS for free foil!
Also at Walgreens, Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies and Froot Loops are on sale for $1.99. Use the $1.00 coupon from 11/9 RP and pick this up for under a buck a box!
Over at CVS, Powerade is free after ECB – buy a bottle at $1.59 and get $1.59 back in Extra Care Bucks that you can spend next time… making your beverage free…
Stayfree pads are on sale for $3.99. For each pack you buy, you’ll get $2 back in ECBs. So, buy 2 – use the $2 off 2 coupon from 11/9 RP, and get these for just 99 cents a pack…
Kmart has a pretty good deal on Chex cereal this week… Chex is on sale 4 for $10. Buy 3 and receive $3 off instantly. Use 2 $1.00-off-2 coupons (11/9 SS, 12/7 SS, December All You) and get 4 boxes for $5, or $1.25 a box!
Target has a deal going on cookies and crackers — buy 5 Keebler or Sunshine crackers or cookies at $2.50 each and get a $5 gift card. Use the $1 off 2 Keebler crackers coupon from 1/2 RP. Print
these coupons for $1 off any Keebler cookie and $1 off Keebler Sandies. You can print those twice. Now, mix and match:
5 packages = $12.50
Minus $5 giftcard = $7.50
Minus 4 $1 cookie coupons – $3.50, or $0.70 a package!
If you are able to print 5 coupons… you’d be down to $2.50 for 5 packages of cookies. 50 cents a package? YUM!
Still at Target… a small freebie! In my coupon classes, I teach people to note the wording on a coupon. When a coupon says “any” size of an item, that’s exactly what it means – ANY. Large or small.
And if you’re completely stocked up on laundry detergent from the great deals on All we’ve seen over the past few weeks, you may not be planning to use the Tide coupon that’s in 11/30 PG for “$1.00 off ANY Tide.” But if you’re headed to Target and you didn’t already use this coupon up, bring it to Target… because Target sells a 1-load size of Tide for just 99 cents in the travel size area. And it will be FREE after the coupon :)
Also at Target, Airwick Luminaire flameless candles are marked down at some stores to $4.99. Use the $5 coupon from 12/7 SS and get this for FREE!

I just tried the Tivo Cookie Cutter offer and it told me they have already fulfilled their limit! Bummer!
Cheap Chex Mix at Jewel until Wed., Dec. 10th! Chex Mix is on sale for $5 when you buy 5. Print 2-60 cent off coupons from pillsbury.com, 2-60 cent off coupons from coupons.com, and use 1-50 cent off coupon from 11/09 SS or 12/07 SS and get 5 bags of Chex Mix for $2.10 (plus tax)! Look for Chex Mix that will come up $2.00 with preferred card-the turtle mix does not work with this deal. I bought ONE wrong flavor and the register did not take off the additional discount but customer service was nice enough to give me the discount anyway!

Do you know where we can use the coupon? It prints out one for 75cents off, that I can use at Jewel but if I can’t use the free one is there a better place to get them at? Thanks!

You can also check the produce section to use the Wild Harvest coupons. Baby carrots are on sale 2/$3 – so with coupon that would make them $.50 a bag! Some of the fresh herbs would be around $1.50-$1.70 using this coupon too. Can’t wait to go back for more – thanks for the tip on this deal.

You mention today that there are coupons for Captain Morgan rum in the “RP”. What is the “RP” and where do I get it?

I stopped at target for the keebler deal. It’s great since they have so many different cookies and crackers..some of the varieties are even 2.33 instead of 2.50 so it’s less money.
Anyway the cashier questioned the $5.00 off for the Air Wick because the box for the flameless candle doesn’t say started kit. I told her that was the correct one so she took it. She then wouldn’t take the $1.00 tide coupon for the travel size. I went to speak to a manager and they claim that becasue the travel size is only .97C and the coupon is a full dollar that they can not accept it. I tried telling them that the store would be refunded the full $1.00 plus more but the manager clearly didn’t know much about coupons. it’s ok I didn’t buy them, I’ll just try it again on my next trip. this was at Target on West Dundee/higgins road.

I went to Jewel today to initially take advantage of the liquor special mentioned above. While perusing the Jose Cuervo tequila, I came across an amazing deal on Sauza tequila. There is a special running right now on Jim Beam, Cruzan rum, Canadian Club whisky, Courvosier cognac, DeKuyper liqeuer or cordials, Sauza tequila, and Starbucks Coffee. There is a mail-in rebate running where if you buy 2 bottles, you save $10 off your next shopping trip, 4 bottles/$20, or 6 bottles/$30. Maximum of 2 bottles of any item for the rebate. The Sauza tequila is on sale for $10 bottle, and the other items are on sale for . I grabbed 2 Sauza golds and 2 Sauza silvers, and 2 bottles of wine that I needed. By purchasing the 6 pack, i was able to get 10% off my liquor purchase. After the rebate, my tequila will only cost me $16: $40 purchase price, less 10% or $4, less the $20 rebate. This is an awesome deal, in my opinion.

Hey Jill, thanks for all your help, I especially love the math breakdowns!! Re the liquor deal at Jewel, can I use 3 $5 off 2 bottles and get the extra buck off….I think I have 3-4 copies of this coupon, people I know have started to give me their extra copies, silly people don’t know what they are missing! Just wondering, and is there a rebate form with the bottles? How do I get it? Again, thanks for all the help.

Need to go and do this deal. My question is: Is it still running? Also, Is it only on these two types mentioned? I’d like to use it on the Bailey’s, if it’s included. I know the coupons can be used on them. I finally was able to login and check your deals for the week. I have a sick kid in the house and don’t want to waste my time if the deal is over…but, would run out if it is still running.

Jill,
I attended your coupon saving meeting last night and you mentioned that limits on products means there is a limit per variety (e.g. Coke, Diet, Caffine Free, etc.). I was wondering if that was the same for milk? Jewel has milk $1.99 per gallon limit 2. Can I get 2 whole and 2 skim for $1.99 each?
Thanks!

I got 3 flameless candles, 3 single load tide, and 2 mott’s juice boxes for 58 cents with coupons and $5 gift card! even i am shocked! fyi-the flameless candles were only on clearance in one flavor at my target.

How do you know if the store is using shelf or sale price when you need to buy so much to get so much back. The P&G and the ConAgra a few weeks ago used the shelf price. I went into Jewel yesterday to do the Betty Crocker deal thinking it was off the shelf price, but it was figured off the sale price. When I ask anyone at Jewel, they do not seem to know. Is the only to know is by trying it???? By the way, I attended your Supercouponing class in Woodstock a month ago and I have to say it has changed the way I use coupons. Thank you. I learned alot!!!!
