Our first deal day for February is here! Before we jump into Chicagoland’s best grocery deals though, I have to take a minute to acknowledge how much fun it was to meet so many of you at the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Business Expo this past weekend! Lots of blog readers stopped by the Super-Couponing booth to say hello, ask questions or show off receipts… and I presented Super-Couponing to the expo crowd too! I’ll do it again at the Cary-Grove Business Expo on March 6th.
Now, let’s get shopping and saving! We have a great week of grocery deals, including cheap pizzas and pop (just in time for Super Bowl!) free organics, bargain juices, cheap ketchup, free lip balm, free body wash and more… all thanks to coupons!
This week’s newspaper contained two inserts: one SmartSource and one RedPlum. Also, the Tribune’s Parade magazine has a $1 coupon for Keebler Club crackers on page 11. Keep that too as it figures into a nice deal at Walgreens this week…

If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations.
It’s a good idea to save the grocery and drugstore flyers from both Wednesday and Sunday each week to have on hand & refer to too as you go through the deals! And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing® website for a list of coupon classes (most are FREE!) and easy instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
A note to my non-Midwest readers: While my weekly deals focus on Illinois stores, the Target, Walgreens and CVS deals apply nationally. And, if you’re shopping at a SuperValu, Safeway, or Kroger-owned store, you may find similar sales to our Jewel, Dominick’s, and Hilander deals. Welcome, and enjoy!

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel, they have a deal going on Quaker products. Buy 5 at a time and they’re $1.39 each. Now, here’s where this deal gets better. If you receive a sales flyer for either Butera or Piggly Wiggly stores, the Thursday flyer had a $3-off-5 Quaker products manufacturer coupon in it. Use this coupon at Jewel, buy 5 products shown in the ad, and you’ll pay $3.95 for 5, or .79 each!
Another way to work this deal: Mix and match combinations of the following product with these coupons:
Quaker Chewy granola bars
– $1 off 2 – 1/3 RP1, printable, printable
– .55 off – 1/24 RP
Quaker Oatmeal
– $1 off – printable
Quaker Oatmeal-to-Go breakfast bars
– $1 off 2 – 1/24 RP
Aunt Jemima 24oz. syrup
– $1 off 2 – 1/3 RP1
Aunt Jemima 32oz. pancake mix
– $1 off 2 – 1/3 RP1
Buy 5 boxes of bars. Use two $1-off-2 and one .55 coupon. Pay $4.40 for 5, or .88 a box!
OR… Buy 4 boxes of bars and one oatmeal. Use two $1-off-2 and one $1 oatmeal printable… and just like the top deal, you’ll pay $3.95 for 5, or .79 each.
OR… work some Aunt Jemima syrups or pancake mixes in (yes, they’re not in the ad, but they’re included on signage in the store.) If you get multiple inserts, you could use 2 $1-off-2, mix and match 5 Aunt Jemimas and pay $4.95 for 5, or .99 each!
There are a BUNCH of manufacturer coupons in the new Jewel ad. Because these are manufacturer coupons, you cannot stack with them, but many of the products are a good price ($1 Skippy, $2 Hellman’s, $2 Lipton) with these coupons. But hold onto these, as they’re manufacturer coupons that can always figure nicely into deals down the road…
When you’re at Jewel, take a quick stroll down the cracker aisle and look for tearpads for $1.50 off Keebler Nut Crisps… because Keebler Nut Crisps are on sale for $1.88. Yes, that’s right… if your store has these tearpads, you’ll take these home for .38 a box!
Jewel also has a deal going on California Pizza Kitchen, DiGiorno pizzas, and Coke. Buy 2 pizzas at $4.99 each (either/or types) and get 3 12-packs of Coca-Cola products for $1.99 each.
Note that you have to buy ALL of the above to get these prices (must buy 2 pizzas, 3 Coke 12-packs.) Let’s make this deal a little better with coupons though. 1/24 SS has a $1 coupon for the DiGiorno. If you get multiple inserts, use two $1 coupons, bringing your pizzas down to $3.99 each… and the Coke’s already cheap.
OR… and this will be a shocker to you all, because I don’t normally write deals for this store… but you could do a pizza-only deal with the same coupon at Super Walmart. Yes, normally Walmart is NOT our best place for grocery deals, and they’re also an incredibly difficult store to blog as every location prices differently. However, they’re running a Super Bowl promotion that includes DiGiorno pizzas – the same pizzas are priced about a buck cheaper at $3.97, and this is in this week’s ad, so it should be the same price at all locations. With coupon, the pizzas will be $2.97 – VERY cheap for DiGiorno.
Hey, I am committed to bringing you the BEST deals..! And, oh, while we’re on the topic, The Mart of Wal also has Red Baron pizzas for $3.33 in the ad. Use the $1-off-2 coupon from 1/31 SS and take two home for $5.56, or $2.83 each. This concludes the Wal-Mart cheap pizza report, and I now return you to Jewel’s deals for the week..!
Barnum’s Animal Crackers (oh yes, the cute ones in the little box we all ate as kids!) are on sale for $1 a box. Use this $2 off 2 coupon for any Nabisco crackers and get 2 boxes… free!
Continuing from last week at Jewel, Promise buttery spread is on sale for $1.50 a tub. Use the $1 coupon in 11/15 RP and it’s yours for .50!
Reader Beaner2 noted that many Garnier hair styling products (hairspray, mousse) are on clearance for $2.09. Use the $1 coupon from 1/10 RP and cut that price to $1.09 each…
There’s a great high-value coupon out for Baby Basics diapers (Jewel’s house brand.) Print this $4 coupon and cut the price in half, as most jumbo packs are $7.99…
Continuing from last week, if you’re a fan of Jewel’s Wild Harvest line of organics, here’s your chance to take some home FREE! Numerous Wild Harvest snacks are on clearance for $1 at many stores (look for herbed saltines, “Endangered Species” kids’ crackers [cheddar shapes, like Goldfish] and a few others. Print this $1 off any Wild Harvest coupon (you can print 2!) and these will be FREE!
Incidentally, this is a great coupon for any Wild Harvest organic product that you like — organic milk and produce come to mind. Some readers have reported seeing Wild Harvest frozen waffles on clearance for $1.49 – with the coupon, they’ll be just .49. Others saw mini oatmeal cookies clearanced to $1.50 — just .50 with coupon! Jars of Wild Harvest baby food are under a buck – FREE with this coupon. One reader spotted Wild Harvest tortilla chips B1G1F for $2.89. With 2 coupons, they’re .89 for BOTH. And another reader used two of these coupons in conjunction with the “Buy 2 Wild Harvest Pizzas, get 1 free” coupon (WH pizzas reportedly at $4.99 each) that’s also at www.wildharvestorganic.com.
Jewel meat deals:
Jewel has TWO different “Fav 4” deals running on meats this week.
The first is a “Buy 4 for $10,” mix and match.
Included meats (that would be better buys with coupons)
14-16 oz. Hillshire Farms Lil’ Smokies
12-16 oz. Bob Evans breakfast sausage
– .35 off – printable, Jewel Preferred Card Update book
– .25 off – 12/6 SS
16 oz. Hormel Black Label bacon
16 oz. Oscar Mayer Beef Franks
14-16oz. Hillshire Farms Dinner Sausage
– $1 off 2 – 1/31 RP
Best bets here? If you work the Hillshire Dinner Sausage coupon in, it will knock those two packages to $2/lb, a good price. The Hormel bacon is also a good price – it will be $2.50/package even without a coupon.
The second “Fav 4” meat deal is a “Buy 4 for $19.99,” mix and match.
As always, watch your sizes on this deal to determine the best per-pound price. Most of the per-pound breakdowns are not in the current weekly ad, but one possible scenario that would net you a LOT of cheap ground beef is this: 3lb. packages of 75% lean ground beef are in the deal. Buying 4 at $19.99 would net you 12lbs. of ground beef – that works out to $1.67/lb…
Additional meat deals:
- Cook’s fresh smoked shank portion ham – .69/lb.
- Fresh whole homestyle roaster chickens – $1.49/lb.
- Fresh cut up whole fryer Perdue chickens – $1.59/lb.
- Fresh cut pork chops and boneless sirloin cutlets – $1.99/lb.
Jennie-O frozen turkey breast – $1.99/lb.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry, or seafood) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices.)
Jewel produce deals:
- Dole bananas – .39/lb.
- 4lb. bags of navel oranges – $4.99, Buy One Get One Free – that’s 8lbs. for under $10 – that’s about .62/lb.
- Anjou, Red, or Bosc pears – $1.49/lb.
- Broccoli crowns – $1.49/lb.
- Pacific Rose, Pinata or Jazz apples – $1.88/lb.
- Wild Harvest 5lb. organic russet potatoes – $2.99. Use $1 Wild Harvest coupon to bring this down to $1.99!
Jewel also has a “Spend $20, get $5” Catalina deal from 1/31-2/14 on ConAgra products. As this one’s not yet in the ad, the sale prices aren’t effective yet (waiting until the products go on sale makes this a much better deal) and I’ll blog it in depth for next week’s deals! There’s a teaser ad in the 1/31 SmartSource if you’d like a partial product preview… and I’ll even give you a quick list if you want to get a jump on planning!
Act II popcorn, 3-pack
Alexia Crunchy Snacks, 4oz.
Crunch and Munch, 4oz.
David sunflower seeds, 5.25-5.75 oz.
Hebrew National beef franks, 12oz.
– $1 off – printable
Hunt’s ketchup, 24oz.
Hunt’s pasta sauce, 26-26.5oz.
Gulden’s mustard, 12oz.
Pam cooking spray, 5-6oz.
– .35 off – 1/24 SS
Ro*Tel diced tomatoes, 10 oz.
– .35 off – 1/24 SS
Van Camp’s pork and beans, 15oz.
Lastly, many, many readers have anxiously been awaiting news of Jewel’s annual FREEZER DEAL! It’s officially scheduled for Feb. 7 and 8, though depending on demand, they may be gone by the 8th. Specifics of this deal are in the Freezer discussion.
In my Super-Couponing classes, people often ask how to save on meats. Meats cycle in price just like anything else, and as I’ve posted many times, I watch for meats at or below my benchmark price ($1.99) – then buy in quantity and put them in my freezer. This Jewel freezer sale is the best, cheapest way to get a second freezer for your household. In past years, Jewel has sold this 5.2 cubic foot Igloo chest freezer for $149… and it comes with $150 worth of FREE frozen food coupons! So, you’re essentially buying the food and getting the freezer free, or vice versa.
However, those coupons become even more valuable when paired with B1G1F sales on frozen food — doubling your investment on those products! This deal only comes around once a year, so start thinking about whether you’ve got room in your garage, basement, or house for another freezer…
Let’s talk Dominick’s! Before we dig into this week’s Dominick’s deals, if you haven’t read or had a chance to respond to this Dominick’s discussion regarding customer service and coupon issues in their stores, please do. I have been in touch with Dominick’s Public Affairs department, and they are reading this discussion. So many readers have taken a few moments to share their concerns.
If there is anything (good or bad) you’d like to share or add to this discussion of coupon acceptance at Dominick’s, please take a moment to do so.
And now… on to the Dominick’s deals!
Tropicana and Trop50 juices are on sale for $2.50. Use the $1-off-2 Trop50 coupon from 9/13/09 RP2 to take two home for $4, or $2 a carton…
Post Honey Bunches of Oats and Lucky Charms cereals are on sale for $1.88 a box. Bring these prices down more with coupons…
Honey Bunches (pecan variety): $1 off – 7/26/09 SS
Lucky Charms: .55 off – Cellfire
With these, your Honey Bunches will cost .88, and your Lucky Charms, $1.33. If your Dominick’s will accept a printable coupon over 50% of the value of the product (current policy says no), this $1 Lucky Charms printable would stack in nicely, bringing that cereal down to just .33.
Continuing this week, PureVia sweetener is on sale for $1.99. Use the $2 coupon in 1/3 SS1 and it’s yours… FREE! PureVia is made from Stevia, a natural, plant-based sweetener, and each box contains 40 single servings.
Doms has a good Pillsbury Catalina deal running this week (it’s actually running at Jewel and Meijer too, but it works out the best here!) Buy 4 Pillsbury refrigerated products and get $2 back; buy 5 get $3, buy 6 or more get $4.
There are MANY ways to work this deal, especially since both ShortCuts and CellFire have electronic coupons to work in here…
ShortCuts:
– $1 off 2 Pillsbury Italian meal breads
– .75 off 2 Pillsbury refrigerated holiday cookies
CellFire:
– $1 off 2 Pillsbury sweet rolls
– $1 off 2 Pillsbury Italian meal breads
Manufacturer coupons:
– .40 off 2 Pillsbury Italian meal breads – 11/15/09 GM, 9/13/09 GM, 8/9/09 GM, printable
– .30 off 2 Pillsbury Grands – 11/15/09 GM, 11/8/09 SS, 8/9/09 GM, printable
– .35 off Pillsbury Grands – 7/12/09 SS
– $1 off 2 Pillsbury cookie dough – 11/15/09 GM, 9/13/09 GM, 8/9/09 GM, printable
– .55 off Pillsbury cookie dough varieties – 11/15/09 GM, 9/13/09 GM, 7/12/09 SS
– $1 off Pillsbury Simply cookie dough – 9/13/09 GM
– $1 off 2 Pillsbury sweet rolls – printable
– .50 off 2 Pillsbury sweet rolls – 9/13/09 GM
– .40 off 2 Pillsbury sweet rolls – 11/15/09 GM, 11/8/09 SS, 8/9/09 GM
– .75 off 3 Pillsbury refrigerated baked goods – 5/31/09 SS
– .50 off 2 Pillsbury crescent rolls – 11/15/09 GM, 11/8/09 SS
Some Dominick’s have tearpad coupons for these too. They’re big sheets with Coca-Cola 2-liter coupons on them, but the one we want is a $1 off Pillsbury crescent rolls.
An easy, quick scenario:
Buy 6 “mini” cans of biscuits or rolls (.99 each at most stores.) Pay $6 and get $4! With one .50-off-2, pay $5.50 and get $4 … with a .75-off-3, pay $5.25 and get $4… you get the idea :)
As usual, there are some Dominick’s Super Coupons* in this week’s ads too:
Doms’ other promotion this week is a free pasta dinner. Spend $50 and use the coupons in the ad to receive a free 1lb. package of Moran’s 80% ground beef, one 12-16oz. box of Prince pasta, one Fresh Express garden salad, and one Kraft salad dressing. Now, before you say “I won’t spend $50 at Dominick’s,” remember that the $50 minimum is on the REGULAR prices of the products you’re buying in this trip, not the sale/Fresh Values prices… AND the prices of these “free” items also count toward your $50. Really! It’s right in Dominick’s policy.
So… the beef is $3.29. Sale prices of the Prince pasta and Kraft salad dressing are .75 and $2.39, respectively — but again, those are SALE prices. (Regular prices may vary by store.) The Fresh Express salads usually sell for around $2 – so your NON Fresh Values prices for all four of these items is at least $8. Again, check prices at your store specifically, but you may not need to spend as much as you think to use these coupons.
Other good Super Coupons?
Lucerne large eggs, 18ct are $1.29
Lucerne or Safeway single-serving 7.5oz ice cream cups are .49
Bounce, Downy, or Gain fabric softener is $3.99
– Stack with $1 Downy coupon from P&G $120 Year of Savings to get for $2.99
– or, stack with $1 Bounce Bar coupon from 10/11 PG, 8/2 PG to get for $2.99
– or, stack with $1 Gain coupon from 10/18 RP to get for $2.99
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Carl Buddig thin-sliced lunchmeat 2oz. packages – .59
- Fresh Safeway whole chicken – .99/lb
- Fresh Safeway boneless skinless chicken breast – $1.97/lb
- Fresh 93% lean ground beef – $1.99/lb
Also, large raw shrimp are $3.99/lb (sold in 2lb. bag) – that’s about the lowest we’ve seen them lately.
Dominick’s produce deals:
- 8lb. bag navel oranges – $2.99 – that’s about .36/lb.
- Sweet yellow onions – .99/lb.
- Green seedless grapes – $1.29/lb.
- Large red delicious apples – $1.49/lb.
- Tree ripened yellow peaches or nectarines – $1.99/lb.
- Tender green asparagus – $1.99/lb.
- Eating Right baby-cut carrots – 2lb. package – $2.50
*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons: All Super Coupons require a total purchase of $10 or more to use. But, the “Minimum $10 purchase” applies to the REGULAR, non-sale price of those items. Really! It’s even spelled out very well on Safeway’s corporate site:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item’s regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
So, knowing this, getting over that qualifying dollar amount isn’t as hard as it seems.
At Meijer, the white-hot deal of the week is on RICE (get it? white hot? ha!) This week, Rice Select organic rice is on sale for $2 a package. Print this $2 coupon and its yours… free!
By popular demand, here’s the deal on Kool-Aid Jammers for this week! They’re on sale 3 for $5. Buy 3, and you’ll receive $3 in instant savings, making the price $2 for 3, or about .67 each! That’s a steal…
Meijer orange juice is $2 a half-gallon carton… no coupon needed! Best part of this deal? The orange/pineapple juice blend is included too… my favorite!
While on the topic of juices, Meijer Apple Juice is on sale 3/$5, or $1.67 a bottle. Nice price if you need it — cycle-wise, I try to stay around $1.50 a bottle for any 100% bottled juice or juice blend. We’ve had a LOT of juice deals lately, but if you haven’t stocked up, this is still an excellent price.
Longtime forum reader Prea spotted a great deal on Meijer Naturals Ketchup! The Meijer Naturals (high-fructose corn syrup-free, for those of you avoiding HFCS in your diet) is on sale for $1 a bottle, already a steal for any HFCS-free ketchup. But the ketchup’s also part of Meijer’s “10 for $10 and the 11th’s FREE” sale. So, if you’re looking for an all-ketchup stockup, 11 bottles will cost you $10, or .90 each!
Meijer meat deals:
- Meijer fresh bone-in split chicken breast – .99/lb
- Center cut half boneless pork loin – $1.49/lb
- Certified Angus ground chuck beef – $1.79/lb
Meijer produce deals:

- Northwest Anjou, Red, or Bosc pears – .99/lb.
- Red or green seedless grapes – $1.24/lb.
- Vine-ripened tomatoes – $1.28/lb.
- 10lb. bag homegrown russet potatoes – $1.98
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
For my Rockford-area readers, Hilander has some good deals this week too…

Forum reader Mamadolle spotted a great deal on Hershey’s Pieces (and Reeses Pieces, Almond Joy Pieces, York Pieces). They’re on sale for $2.39-$2.69 a bag. Many readers have reported finding good deals on GE Energy Smart light bulbs at Target. There are a lot of current coupons available for these – 1/3 SS1 has a $1 manufacturer coupon – here’s a printable too. And, the 1/10 SS insert has a $2 Target store coupon, and and Section 1 of the 1/19 Tribune had a $1.50 Target store coupon. Stacked, you’re looking at $2.50-$3 in coupon value toward GE light bulbs — many of which for sell less than that… netting you FREE light bulbs! Many readers have seen 2-packs of these bulbs on clearance in the $2-$3 range too.
Other readers have noted that Ace Hardware has single GE Energy Smart light bulbs for .99 through February too. Some Ace Hardware stores do not accept coupons, but if yours does, they could be free there too!

AND, Scalpacin medicated wipes (12 pack) are $5.99 with a $5.99 RR. Whew! That’s a lot of Wags freebies…
Now, if you saved that $1 Club Crackers coupon from Sunday’s Parade magazine in the Trib, it works nicely into the “Buy 2 crackers, get $2 in RRs” deal on crackers at Wags. Buy 2 boxes of Keebler Club crackers ($2.50 each.) Use that $1 coupon, pay $4 and get $2 back! TWO boxes for $2! If you get multiple papers, use TWO $1 coupons. Pay $3 and get $2 back… Keebler Club crackers at .50 a box!
AND, continuing from last week, Walgreens is running a “Buy $20, Get $10” deal on Pepsi products and snacks. Spend $20 and get $10 back in Register Rewards. Best buy here? 2-liters of Pepsi, Mountain Dew or Sierra Mist (diet/Cherry varieties too.) 2-liters are on sale for $1.25 a bottle. Buying 16 bottles will put you at $20 – pay $20, get $10 back, and you’ll knock that price in half. Now, make it better with coupons! Many of the bottles have hangtag coupons for $1 off 4 2-liters. Pick up four bottles with these! With four $1 coupons, you’ll pay $16 and get $10 back — $6 for 16 2-liter bottles of Pepsi products? That’s about .38 a bottle!
And finally, over at CVS, they’re running a “Buy $25, Get $10” deal on Coca-Cola products and snacks. If you’ve taken my Super-Couponing 2 class, we talk about the yearly cycles on specific kinds of products and the best times to buy them. Right now is a cycle low for snacks and sodas, because Super Bowl’s approaching… and last week we saw an amazing deal on Pepsi products at both Wags and CVS, which Wags is still running. Now, this week, Coke gets in the game…
Grab the CVS ad and take a look at the cover. Numerous Coke and P&G products are included in the deal, and when you spend $25, you get $10 back in ECBs. There are a few good ways to work this one…
A Powerade and Pringles deal
Powerade 32oz. bottles are on sale for $1 each, and cans of Pringles are $1.50 each with your Extra Care card.
Look in the store for coupon tearpads for “$1 off when you buy one Powerade and one Pringles.” I spotted them in three different places at my CVS – in the aisle with the Pringles, in the aisle with the Coke, and on the refrigerator cases themselves.
Buy 10 Powerades and 10 cans Pringles ($25.00.) Use 10 $1 coupons. Pay $15 and get $10 back! 20 items for $5… that’s a quarter EACH! PLEASE NOTE with this deal that the tearpads are going to be in HIGH demand. Please only take exactly what you will use. As this deal is a limit ONE per CVS card, there’s no reason to take extras – and they expire 2/15. But what a DEAL..!
An all Coke-12-packs deal
12-packs of Coke products are on sale 3-for-$11. Buy 7 12-packs ($25.67.)
Use a $2 off 4 12-packs of Coke products printable. Pay $23.67 and get $10 back – 7 12-packs of Coke for $13.67 – that’s $1.95 each…
A Coke 2-liters deal
Look for 2-liters with .50 hangtag coupons on them. They don’t seem to be as plentiful as the Pepsi hangtags were for last week’s deal, but they’re out there.
An all-2-liter deal would have you buying 20 (you can mix and match flavors/varieties, but I only saw the hangtags on the Coca-Cola classic.) If all 20 bottles have hangtags, you’ll save .50 on each, bringing your post-coupon total to $15. Pay $15 and get $10 back… 20 2-liters for $5 is phenomenal! But even if you can’t find them all, you can mix and match any of these together to make a great scenario. You could do one 12-pack, 2 2-liters, 8 Powerades and 8 Pringles ($26.17) etc.
Dove Men’s face and body wash is free after ECB… but let’s make it a moneymaker! It’s on sale for $5.49 with $5.49 back in ECBS…free! Use the $1.25 coupon from 1/31 RP to make money on your free Dove…
Nature’s Bounty vitamins are on sale again. This time, they’re on sale for $8.99, B1G1F, and you get $3 in ECBs for every 2 bottles you buy (limit 6 total.) Use coupons to make these a super deal… with a $2 coupon (1/24 SS, 1/10 SS, printable), pay $6.99 and get $3 back in ECBs! That works out to under $2 a bottle. If your store allows you to use a coupon on each, use two, pay $4.99 and get $3 back in ECBs… that’s under $1 a bottle for your vitamins!
Colgate Maxfresh or Children’s toothpaste is cheap this week! It’s on sale for $2.99 with a $2 ECB. Use the .50 coupon from 1/31 SS, pay $2.49 and get $2 back… dropping the price to .49!
SoyJoy 6-packs snack bars continue to be free after ECB too. They’re on sale for $6 with $6 back in Extra Care Bucks!
The moneymaking deal on Oust air and surface sanitizer continues through 2/14! Oust is on sale for $3.99 a can. For each can you buy, you’ll get $3 back in ECBs, limit 3. Buy 2, use the Buy One, Get One Free Oust coupon from 1/3 SS. Pay $3.99 and get $6 back! Hello there, moneymaker! If you have multiple inserts, buy 4, use 2 coupons, pay $7.98 and get $9 back.
As this has been running for a few weeks now, it seems to be getting a little easier to find on the shelves too…
CVS Tip: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the price scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

I don’t know if it’s all locations, or just the Palatine location, but we use Joe Caputo’s for our fresh fruits, veggies and specialty cuts of meat… Anyway, we go there a lot for produce that doesn’t get covered by my overage elsewhere. On my way out of the checkout lane yesterday, they threw TWO bags of bananas in my cart! Totally unexpected and as far as I know, not in their weekly ad.. And they had HUGE crates FULL of bananas left to give away. This maybe a while-supplies-last kind of deal tho.
Seriously, they gave us so many bananas, I had to gift a bag to my sister.. even with all of us loving them we could never eat them all before they went bad (each bag was well over 2 pounds of bananas):o)

This comes up as a JPG, not via the coupon printer. Is there any print limit on it, or can we just print a stack of them like with the Ray-o-vac coupon? Just in case, I’ve saved the .jpg file…
Same with the Edys coupon that comes up with it.
cschelthoff says
The exp. date on the coupon is 2/28/2010, two weeks later than the FREE bag coupon. Which is really good since they aren’t yet in stock at Petsmart, although one clerk told me there was a huge shipment in the back that had not yet been opened or examined. If the pouch never shows up you can use the coupon on ANY other items up to $3. Petsmart carries a 9 oz pounch of a dry Purina dog food for $1.19 which could be substituted.

Just to let you know we found out at the Jewel store by where we live that the store is out of the creamy and even the manufacurer is out. The good thing is that, at least the Jewel in Aurora is, they are giving rain checks for the Skippy deal. When looking through the sales flyers in Sundays paper, I saw that CVS has a sale going on for Skippy too so they might be running out quickly too . . . juat a heads up.

Until tomorrow, Tuesday, Caputo’s (at least in Naperville) has Edy’s icecream for 2 for $5, with this week $1 dollar off one icecream (in SS or RP – sorry I cut them and I have no idea from which – just starting couponing last week), it would be $1.5 per icecream box of 48 ounces.
Walgreens has, among other things, buy 2 Keebler Club Crackers for $5 less $2 RR = $3 then in Parade this week there was a $1 off a Keebler Club Crackers so it would be 50 cents each, at the end – but, can I use manufacturers’ coupons when I am getting RRs? Thank you so much,

Where exactly are these soap items located in Target? I feel like I’ve checked everywhere for them; I must be too sleep-deprived! Help! Thanks :)

Okay, here is my real question. I didn’t realize there are supercoupons for free pasta, free salad etc until now. I have spent more than $50 (~$25 after coupons and club card) yesterday at Dominicks. Can I go back and use those supercoupons without making another $50 purchase? Do you think CS will let me do that if I show them my receipt from yesterday? Thanks.

I went to Meijer today and the coupons for some reason were only taking $2 off my order instead of the full $4. My self checkout cashier ended up putting each coupon in twice to get the full $4 to come off, but I just wanted to post this so everyone can watch for this in case you aren’t going through self checkout.

Only because it worked for me yesterday –
The cashiers have this coupon! And they would not let me take a single extra coupon home with me.. oh well
buy one box of the orville redinbacker pocorn (I bought the 3 packs each of kettle corn and light butter) get these items for free:
one more box of OR popcorn
TWO 2L of soda (mostly 7-up products… I made ours AW rootbeer, since the hubby loves rootbeer and popcorn!)
and if you do this deal twice in the same transaction, there is a coupon in the paper for the OR popcorn ( 1/24 SS )

Thank you very much for your quick reply on the Club Crackers.
Can one spend/redeem the CVS ECB somewhere else? Like the RRs are accepted at Jewel, for ex.
Thank you again,

I went to Berkot’s the other day and selected varieties of Chinet Plates, cups and napkins are on sale for $1.99 a pack. I used 1 $2.00, 3- $1.00, and 1- $.75 coupon for them and got 5 packs of chinet products for $4.25! To make this even better, some of the packages of plates had coupons on them for FREE Wishbone salad dressing!
Also, 8# bags of Idaho Potatoes are on sale for $.99 a bag and the Homemade Italian Sausage is on sale for $1.49 lb. The sausage is a steal and is EXCELLENT!
The sale runs through Wednesday of this week. http://www.BerkotFoods.com

I am thinking about trying the Target big pack Huggies/Pampers deal this week. They are $19.99 for a big pack, and when you buy 2, you get a $5 giftcard. I have 2 Huggies $3 mnfr coupons from the Jewel flyer this week. Does anybody know of a Target coupon for Huggies that would work for a big pack? I have one that says $3 off “92-count or larger Huggies Snug & Dry” that expires 2/5, but I’m pretty sure it would have to be the huge box.
Anybody try this out yet?
Even without a Target coupon, $29 for two big packs (after the GC) seems pretty good.

I’m confused. Jill mentioned hanging on the manufacturer coupons posted in the Jewel ad because they can figure in nicely to deals down the road. But my coupons expire tomorrow on 2/3. Will Jewel take them expired down the road since they are from their ad? I didn’t think they took expired coupons. If not, then how am I supposed to save them for deals later?
Thanks for helping!!

went today to the Algonquin store and they are out of this product with no rain checks (says on the tag on the shelf). I assume it was for the smaller packages normally priced at $2.99 but on sale for 2/$4. Noted the only selection was the three cheese flavor. Does any other store sell this line of rice?
Judi Cookie says
Meijer has a few other great deals this week. The Rice Select Organic rice sides are on price drop for $2.00 until February 7. I was able to get six of these at Algonquin on Sunday. Used the printable coupons and paid .22 for these.
The hot item has been the Kool-Aid Jammers. These are on sale at three for $5.00. Buy these in groups of three and get them for $2.00. The registers take $3.00 off for every three you buy. Can do as many in an order as you want.
Sure Antiperspirant and Men’s Antiperspirant are $2.00. ( These actually came up at $1.86) 1-23SS has $1.00 of the Antiperspirant and $1.50 off the Men’s Antiperspirant. Making the men’s .36. Worked for me.
1/25-2/21 Pillsbury Catalina $2.00, $3.00 or $4.00 OYNO
Buy six small pkgs of Grands or Sweet Roll Grands for $1.09 each. Get a $4.00 OYNO. Use some coupons. I got these down to $3.54 and got the $4.00 OYNO. It rolls.

This seems like good pricing to me “By three participating Pepsi products and 1 bag of Tostitos Tortilla chips for $7.99.” averages out to about two bucks per item.

I just got back from the Oswego Dominick’s and had one of my worst shopping experiences ever. Suffice it to say that the manager on duty this evening did not know the coupon policy, and pretty much refused to try to find a copy. He was completely rude and insensitive-I was beginning to think that customers were an inconvenience for him! I was able to call customer service, have them verify the policy and complete my checkout. I was using the “Free Pasta Meal” coupons and for some reason they would not take the items off when scanned. What a pain! However, kudos to Warren the cashier, who was really a sweetheart through the whole process. IF, and that’s a big IF I go back, I hope I get him at the checkout.

I wanted you to know that the Oscar Mayer beef franks and cheese-filled franks worked on this deal, as well as the best braunschweiger/liver sausage I ever had by Hillshire Farms. For it usually being close to $5, I was happy to get it at $2.50.

At CVS: It’s not the Nature’s Bounty vitamins that are buy one get one free, it’s the Nature Made. On Tuesday I went on Target’s coupon website and I didn’t see any $1 Hershey’s candy coupon for the Reese’s Pieces, etc. Did anybody else find it?

Hi Jill! I’ve been eagerly anticipating the freezer deal at Jewel! My question is: Is it always for 2 days, and do they tend to run out? I’m going to be out of town on Superbowl Sunday, but will be back on Monday. Just want to make sure I wouldn’t miss out. Thanks for your help!

To the OP going to get Target GC deal on Huggies. Just looking at this today. If you didn’t get to Target. Consider checking prices at Baby’s R Us. They are giving $15 GC wyb 3 boxes & wipes. Only good thru tomorrow now though.

Can the Manufactuer’s coupon printed in the jewel add be used at kroger? E.g. Kroger has buy 10 items get $5.00 off this week. If you get a Kraft dressing and use $1.50 Karft Manufacture coupon in jewel add, you can get the salid dressing for 19 Cents. Since this is a manuacturer’s coupon will Kroger accept these and get reimbursed.
thanks
