Hope everybody had a great Valentine’s Day yesterday! Of course, now that the holiday’s passed, keep your eyes open for deals on Valentine’s candies and products…

If you’re a rebater, you might want to know about two that work nicely into some of this week’s deals. The $100 P&G Year of Savings coupon book is running again this year (get free coupon book by sending in P&G receipts) and there’s also a $15 Olay rebate (yes, those FREE body washes qualify!)

Find another great deal with the YourBucks Catalina promotion? Post it below! This set of offers is good through 3/16, and this already looks to be a very fun promotion! Some people are also reporting a bonus $2 Catalina printing with each transaction. It’s random, but if yours does, you can have even more fun with this great sale. Remember to ACTIVATE these savings 36 hours BEFORE shopping.
JEWEL PROMO RETURNING? There are signs up at the Mount Prospect Jewel near Randhurst Mall that they’ll be having a coupon promotion Saturday, 2/20, beginning at 10:00am. A call to the store confirmed this is a “Green Team” promotion, in which you receive a free reusable green Jewel shopping bag with organic product samples and coupons inside. The Green Team promotions have typically NOT included the Jewel Preferred Card Update book – two separate events, but you never know. (Remember that the Preferred Card Update “Blue Tent” promotions ended in 2009.)
If you go, let us know what kind of coupons you get! Here’s a link to last year’s Update promotion details if you’d like to learn more.
FREEZER DEAL MATCHUPS: McCain Frozen Potatoes are B1G1F this week. Use your freezer coupon for one free bag, and go get TWO! The Baldwin Ice Cream is back B1G1F through the 27th – get TWO of these too. And, the Deans Churn Ice Cream tubs are ALSO B1G1F through March 7th! Get two of these too! We’ll be keeping track of the B1G1F sales for the freezer coupons in this Forum discussion.
Frigo Cheese Heads string cheeses are $2.49 for a 10-12oz. package. Use this $1 printable and pay $1.49! There are additional coupons out for these, but not quite as high-value — the Jewel Preferred Card Update book has a .75 coupon, and there’s a .40 coupon in the 1/31 RP insert.
Here’s a fun little deal on Tennessee Pride breakfast sandwiches. (Note that not all Jewel locations carry these! But if yours does…) Tennessee Pride singles are on sale for $1. Check your Avenu and activate the discount for .25 off Tennessee Pride. Then, print $1 coupons – and these little sandwiches are moneymakers! (Yes, it’s an unlimited print coupon – but don’t be a shelf-clearer :)
CHEAP CEREAL ALERT! There’s a smashingly good Catalina deal going on Kellogg’s cereals! Buy 4 boxes, get $3 back. Buy 5, get $4. They’re on sale for $1.88 a box, and cereals include:
Apple Jacks
Cocoa Krispies
Corn Pops
Froot Loops
Frosted Flakes
Honey Smacks
Buy 4 ($7.52) and use two $1.50 off 2 coupons (print one here, then print another here)- pay $4.52 and get $3 back. $1.52 for 4 boxes of cereal works out to .38 a box!
This deal’s running at Dominick’s this week too if you’d like to use expired coupons with the same Cat deal…

Edy’s Ice Cream 1.5pt containers are on sale for $2.50. Use the $1 coupons in either the 1/31 SS or the Jewel Preferred Card Update book to take this home for $1.50!
If you’ve taken my Super-Couponing 2 class, we talk about yearly cycle lows for certain categories of products. February is officially Canned Food Month, and Jewel’s got a good deal going on Del Monte canned vegetables. Through 2/20, buy:
3-4 cans get $1.00 Catalina
5 cans get $1.50 Catalina
6 cans get $2.00 Catalina
Participating products include:
Del Monte 14.5 oz – Mixed Vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, green beans, beets, white potato
Del Monte 14.75 oz corn
Del Monte 15.25 oz corn
Del Monte 15 oz peas
The vegetables are on sale for .99/can through 2/21. Of course, we can make this better with coupons…

Some stores may have the larger boxes on clearance for $9.99 (may not be marked – check with price scanner.) With coupon, pay $4.99 for these, a steal.
Continuing from previous weeks, if you’re a fan of Jewel’s Wild Harvest line of organics, here’s your chance to take some home FREE! Numerous Wild Harvest snacks are on clearance for $1 at many stores (look for herbed saltines, “Endangered Species” kids’ crackers [cheddar shapes, like Goldfish] and a few others. - Fresh cut pork shoulder roast is $1.99/lb
- Farm-raised catfish nuggets are $1.99/lb
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry, or seafood) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices.)
Jewel produce deals:
- Bulk sweet onions are .99/lb
- Anjou, Red or Bosc pears are $1.49/lb
- Fresh green asparagus is $1.99/lb
- Granny Smith or Red Delicious apples are $2.88 for a 5lb. bag – that’s .58/lb!

Let’s talk Dominick’s! Before we dig into this week’s Dominick’s deals, if you haven’t read or had a chance to respond to this Dominick’s discussion regarding customer service and coupon issues in their stores, please do. I have been in touch with Dominick’s Public Affairs department, and they are reading this discussion. So many readers have taken a few moments to share their concerns.
If there is anything (good or bad) you’d like to share or add to this discussion of coupon acceptance at Dominick’s, please take a moment to do so.
And now… on to the Dominick’s deals!
Here’s a freebie! Fiber One yogurt multipacks are on sale for $2. Stack the $1 Cellfire ecoupon with a $1 manufacturer coupon from 10/4/09 GM, 9/13/09 GM, 8/9/09 GM, or 7/12/09 SS and it’s FREE!
Betty Crocker brownie mixes are cheap too. They’re .69 each when you buy in quantities of 4, limit 8. That’s already a fantastic price, but you know we’re going to make it better… use two .75-off-2 coupons (printable, 8/23/09 SS, 7/19/09 SS, 6/28/09 SS), and pay $1.26 for FOUR… that’s .32 each! (Note that the ecoupons on Shortcuts and Cellfire are for different varieties of brownies, so you can’t stack them in.)
Betty Crocker pouch cookie mixes are a good deal this week too. Buy 4 or more and they’re .99 each. Use any 4 of the following .40 coupons: printable, printable, 2/7 GM, 12/13/09 GM, 11/15/09 GM, 10/25 SS, 9/13/09 GM, 8/9/09 GM.) Also, load the .40 ecoupons from Shortcuts and Cellfire. Buy 4 ($3.96) – with .80 off in ecoupons and $1.60 off in manufacturer coupons, pay $1.56 for 4, or .39 each! This deal’s limit 8, so if you want to really stock up, any .40 coupon you use will result in another .59 cookie mix!

CHEAP CEREAL ALERT! The same Kellogg’s Catalina deal going on at Jewel is also running at Dominick’s, and the ability to use expired coupons at Doms definitely sweetens this one on their side of the coin. Buy 4 boxes, get $3 back. Buy 5, get $4. They’re on sale for $1.88 a box, and cereals include:
Apple Jacks

The same coupons as the Jewel deal apply here (print one here, then print another here), BUT, if you are a good collector of Blinkie coupons, you may have some of those wonderful $1-off Kellogg’s coupons (now expired.) With five of these, pay .88 per box = $4.40… and get a $4 Catalina back! 5 cereals for .40 is just .08 a box!

*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons: All Super Coupons require a total purchase of $10 or more to use. But, the “Minimum $10 purchase” applies to the REGULAR, non-sale price of those items. Really! It’s even spelled out very well on Safeway’s corporate site:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item’s regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
So, knowing this, getting over that qualifying dollar amount isn’t as hard as it seems.
At Meijer, Kraft Parmesan cheese is a good deal. On sale for $2.99, use this $1-off-2 printable and take two home for $2.49 each – an excellent price!
Gallons of Meijer milk are $1.98 – no coupon needed…
There are a bunch of Meijer store coupons in the current ad, which you can stack manufacturer coupons with, of course, but I’m not seeing anything super stellar here. However, next week looks a lot better. (Here’s a little secret — our Illinois Meijer sales that start on Thursday are Indiana and Michigan’s CURRENT Meijer sales. And, you can preview those here!
Meijer meat deals:
- Meijer fresh family pack chicken drumsticks and thighs are .99/lb
- Tyson boneless skinless chicken breasts or tenderloin 40-ounce bags are $4.29 – that’s $1.72/lb
- Fresh pork spare ribs are $1.89/lb
- Angus Beef ground beef from round is $1.99/lb.
Meijer produce deals:
- Michigan Red Delicious, Ida Red, Jonathan or Fuji apples are $1.50 for a 3lb. bag – that’s .50/lb!
- Red, white or sweet onions are .77/lb
- Northwest Red, Anjou or Bosc pears are $1.18/lb
- Vine-ripened tomatoes are $1.28/lb
- Washington Pink Lady apples are $1.49/lb
- Strawberries are $2/lb
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) Hilander has some good deals this week…
Kroger has a “Buy 10, save $3” instant-savings deal running. This deal is not nearly as hot as the $5 deal that just ended, but there are some good buys in the ad:
Betty Crocker Muffin Mix – on sale for $1.99. Save .30 each when bought in groups of 10. Use a .50 printable (print 2 here, and 2 more here). Those will double to $1 each, making each muffin mix just .69! Stack the .50 ecoupon in from Cellfire and pay .19 for one of your mixes!
Capri-Sun – on sale for $1.99. Save .30 each when bought in groups of 10. Use this $1-off-2 printable, buy 2, and pay $1.19 each when purchased as part of this deal…
Country Crock margarine is also on sale for $1.99 for a 30-40ounce tub, and you’ll save another .30 when bought in groups of 10. Use the .40 coupon from 1/31 RP, which doubles to .80 and pay $1.29 when purchased as part of this sale.
Kroger half-gallons of milk are on sale for $1.25 each – a good price and no coupon needed…

The HOT deal continues this week is on Gillette Fusion razors! They’re on sale for $6.99 each. When you buy 2, you’ll get a $5 Target gift card. Sweeten this deal with the $4 coupon for Gillette Fusion razors in the 2/7 PG! If you get multiple inserts, here’s how it looks… Buy 2 razors ($13.98.) Use two $4 coupons and pay $5.98… and get a $5 gift card back! TWO “expensive” razors for .98 — that’s .49 each! Remember to save that receipt for the P&G $100 coupon book mail-in offer!
Or, do the deal at Walgreens in a different way…
If you prefer the Gillette Venus razors, there’s a fun deal on them too. They’re involved in the same “Buy 2, get $5 gift card” deal as the Fusions are. Now, they won’t be quite as cheap, BUT you’ll be taking some more items home along with these for the same price. Again, you’ll need two sets of inserts to rock this deal. Buy 2 Venus, and also buy 2 Olay Body Wash. Use two $2 off Venus coupons and two “Buy Venus, get Olay Body Wash free coupons. Pay $9.98 and get $5 back – $4.98 for 2 razors and 2 body wash isn’t too bad… especially if you save that receipt and apply it to either the P&G $100 coupon book mail-in offer or the Olay body wash $15 rebate!
Or AGAIN… do this deal at Wags in a different way…
Many readers have reported finding good deals on GE Energy Smart light bulbs at Target. There are a lot of current coupons available for these – 1/3 SS1 has a $1 manufacturer coupon – here’s a printable too. And, the 1/10 SS insert has a $2 Target store coupon, and and Section 1 of the 1/19 Tribune had a $1.50 Target store coupon. Stacked, you’re looking at $2.50-$3 in coupon value toward GE light bulbs — many of which for sell less than that… netting you FREE light bulbs! Many readers have seen 2-packs of these bulbs on clearance in the $2-$3 range too. (Through Feb. 28.)
Drugstore Deals

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

I saw it posted on hip2save.com that if you purchased a Jewel gift card for $50 and scanned your preferred customer card while doing this, that it would generate the $5 OYNO catalina, so that wouldn’t be so hard to get the free $$.

I did this deal yesterday and bought 2@$3.50 each, used 2 $2 off from P&G insert and ended up making $4! I received $7 ECB back to make them free, and the 2 coupons made them MM! I’m trying to find my CVS ad, but I can’t find it and it’s difficult to read online. I think it was advertised that way but I can’t check.

Tide Stain Release is regular $7.49
Use the Doms super coupon which brings it to $5.99
Use the 1/10 RP coupon for $3 off (says it must be for a larger size – I got the liquid, the 36 oz. qualifies to use this $3 off coupon, and that is the size that is on sale with the $5.99 coupon from Doms)
Download the pgesaver $1 off coupon to your card
Total after all coupons = $1.99!

9/13 SS $1 coupon is for 4 oz pouches; the sale lists either 5 oz cans or 2.5 oz pouches. Coupon for this size is .55. I used up all my 6/14 SS coupons on earlier freebies so don’t know their specifics.

I’m going to try the Tidy Cats today at Jewel. The 14lb tubs are $5.00ea minus a $1 coupon from 2/7RP minus $1.50 in YourBucks = $2.50 or .18/lb not bad for clumping cat litter.

Colgate Total is on sale at Jewel for 2.50. I used the $1Q from Jan AY, and its on the current YB’s offers so I got a $1YB = .50 for 4 oz. tube.

It turned out to be a $1 money maker for me. I went to Cellfire and loaded the Q, and I had a $1 man. Q. It gave me credit for two $1 ecoupons.

Can the B1G1 on Covergirl face products be combined with the $2.50/2 from the same circular since we are “buying 2” can’t we use 1 coupon for “each”?

The Mt. Prospect Jewel was marking down their Valentines goodies around noon and I snagged an 11 oz. bag of Hershey Kiss Milk Chocolates for $1.10. This was a small money maker because it produced a $1.50 Your Bucks Catalina. Smiles. :) I am LOVING this Your Bucks program!

The Dominick’s Kleenex supercoupon states “must buy 4”. If I want to buy 3, will I get them for a $1 each? Thanks.

The sale pouches are not the ones for the .75/2 coupons (8/23/09 SS); those are the “Supreme” ones which are considerably more. Figures! I have a quadzillion of these coupons and a couple of fresh value cards.

Could not find the breakfast sandwiches at my Jewel but I did see that the sausage gravy is on sale for $1.00. I gave them two $1.00 coupons (printed from above) and it would not scan. Cashier asked a manager and she accepted the coupons… 2 free !!

1st coupon I’ve seen that doesn’t go to a actual web site – PLUS one person said it didn’t scan. Any place to go to check if coupons are fake?

I did the cereal deal at Jewel today and found two boxes of Frosted Flakes 17oz that had a banner across the top stating Save $5 on Breakfast(or something like that). In the boxes they both had $5 worth of coupons. One had $1 off two boxes of frosted mini wheats, crispix, rice krispies, or corn flakes, $1 off fresh fruit with purchase of one box of cereal, $1 off twoo boxes raisin bran extra, frosted mini wheats little bites (choco or original), or corn flakes with touch of honey, $1 off two packages pop tarts 12ct, and $1 off Minute maid oj 64oz. The second had $1 off two apple jacks, fruit loops, or corn pops, $1 off milk with purchase of one box cereal, $1 off three packages 8 ct pop tarts, $1 off dannon danactive 4 or 8 pack, and $1 off two packages frosted flakes, honey smacks, or cocoa krispies. All of them expire March 31 2011. This was a nice surprise and I will be looking for more.

Got the free Sobe water at CVS thank you – but I brought the printed coupon policy from this site (thank you!) so that when they questioned it, I just handed it over.
Jewel has Gorton fish filets on sale (maybe $1.5) and a coupon booklet with 2 coupons including a $1 off 2 Gorton items and another $1 off 2 Kemp items. The Booklet is on the meat counter (where they cut the meat for you).
Dominicks has coupon booklets “save up to $14” on toilettries. The booklets are all over the toilettries shelves in a bunch of places.
Dominicks also had blinkies for the Chi-Chi salsa ($1 off 2) but I think it is too late for the Meijer $1 salsa deal.
CVS also has DiGiorno Pizza $6.99 get the second for 1c and Dominicks has coupons for $1 off 2 stuck on the DiGiorno pizza freezer doors, so $3 for one, which is not bad.
Anybody in the Naperville area has seen the Burts Bees man soap bars on clearance somewhere? Trying to get them for my son who is allergic even to the Dove sensitive skin bars.
Thank you
kambriel5 says
Is this a mix and match sale or are you limited to 3 of the same item? It’s only my fiance and myself in a tiny apartment so 24 rolls of paper towels and 36 rolls of toilet paper takes up a lot more space than I have to store it. Thanks!!
freckleface says
Just did all the deals at Jewel and Doms, and at Dominicks had $5 catalina print courtesy of itunes. No clue what triggered it. Posted about it in the Doms forum too.

Can you do these deals more than once? I did the eggs, bread, Tyson, Tidy Cat, and the All and I bought one of each. Can I do another round of each of these? Do I need to re-register for these deals or are they still available to me on my card? Or is it one and done?

Did 2 trips today, 1st one bought (2) 4 packs and got (2) $1 OFF on the receipt. I went back and picked up another 3 but no cellfire ecoupon came off on the 2nd trip. Is it a one time only or what with cellfire?

I tried using my coupon for the free airwick but the cashier would’nt take it because the airwick is on sale for $3.99 and the coupon is for $4.00 off. What can I do?? HELP

I was able to use this coupon at 2 different Walgreens yesterday. The cashier’s were a little confused of what to do, but a both locations they called the manager over and he overrode the coupon and reduced it down to $3.99.
Ilovecouponing says
Is this triggered on the amount prior to the coupon deduction or after?

I tried to use the Tennessee Pride Q for breakfast sandwiches and they told me that I had copied the Q and I could only use one. I explained to the cashier and the CS how I got it and they still said that it had been copied and I could not use them all. So I bought one and they refunded the rest. Is there a way to get around this problem, DH loves breakfast sandwiches, especially when they are easy.
On a positive note the YB worked great. I got bread, nuggets, and eggs.

Went to CVS last night to pick up 2 of the Simply Ageless foundation that’s included in the ECB deal on sale for $10ea…….when it came time to enter the coupon, it wouldn’t go thru and the manager insisted it’s because it states at the bottom only good on the sizes indicated and shows a pic of reg foundation and powder….even though the bold wording on the coupon says ANY cover girl face product.
Anyways, I know you don’t go by the picture but by the wording on the coupon but she tried to scan the coupon again and showed me her screen that was saying no item was purchased for this coupon???
So what does that mean?? There were 2 foundations that were scanned and the coupon does NOT say anywhere that it has to be used on a specific cover girl line….it says ANY face product….so is this a glitch with CVS or the cover girl coupon??
I was so bummed that it didn’t work out because those foundations are normally $15.99 each and with coupons and ECB’s it would work out to $2ea.

There is a nice Kikkoman Soy Sauce deal that I used yesterday at Jewel. I bought 4 Kikkoman soy sauce 10oz bottles for $1.99/ea (on sale), then used 2 B1G1 coupons along with a $1/2 coupon, & the purchase triggered a Cat for $2.50. OOP it’s $0.12/each! I dug up some of those $5/4 kellogg’s Ips that expired for me on 01-01-2010! Even better than those $1/1 blinkies :o)
so let’s try the math:
1.88 x 4 = 7.52 – $5Q = 2.52 – $4cat = $1.48MM!!! :o)
I know, YMMV with dom’s, but I am going to try it!! I have two of these Qs, so if it works once, I may try it AGAIN!
Scratch this one…. they gave me the 50% IP coupon value runaround (even tho it isn’t 50% off the ORGINAL price. GRRRR!!)
