Whaaat..? Deals on Thursday?
Due to a bumpy radio schedule this week, the Deals of the Week are actually hitting the airwaves on January 15th! And while many of you know that Thurs-Sat aren’t always the most optimal days to shop at the grocery store, the drugstores are always offering great weeklong sales… and I managed to put together some grocery deals too!
So without further ado… here’s the very first THURSDAY installment of Deals of the Week…
Target’s got a deal going on Sobe LifeWater. If you buy 10 bottles at $1 each, you get a $5 gift card. The secret? Many of the bottles have hangtags on them with $0.50 manufacturer coupons attached! Choose 10, use 10 coupons… pay $5.00 and get a $5 giftcard back! Your 10 bottles will be FREE!
If you happen to be shopping at a SuperTarget, you’ll want to check for this next deal. As many of you know, Christmas products recently clearanced at 90% off at Target. What you may not know is that companies create LOTS of Christmas-themed products for stores beyond holiday decorations and gifts. They often create some weird things too… like holiday scented dishwashing detergent. Really.
Over the holidays, SuperTarget carried “Apple Spice” scented Cascade dishwasher tablets. The 25-count bag has a red bow on the front, and its 90% off clearance price is just $0.49. Pair that with the $0.50 Cascade coupon from 12/28 PG, and you’ll pick these up for FREE too!
And if that isn’t crazy enough, Electrasol got in the game as well with holiday dishwasher tablets. Theirs have a penguin on the package, and if you find them, they’ll be very cheap too (price varies by store) – bring the 1/11 SS $0.25 coupon along to knock this price down even more… or the $2.50 coupon from 1/4 SS to definitely make these free!
(And if you don’t find holiday Electrasol, regular Electrasol is usually priced around $2.79 at SuperTarget, so it will cost you just .29 a pack…)
Still at Target, Kotex pantiliners will be just 4 cents after this coupon deal… The liners are $2.79. Stack the $2.00 Kotex Target coupon from 1/4 SS with the .75 coupon from 1/11 SS, and you’ll pick these up for just… 4 cents. Cheap!
Over at Meijer, South Beach bars are on sale for $2.50. Print this $2 coupon (and go back a few times as you can print FOUR!) and pick these up for just .50 a box!
Still at Meijer, Skippy Peanut Butter is pretty cheap… it’s on sale for $1.33 a jar. Use the 11/16 RP coupon for .40 off and pick this up for just .93!
And still at Meijer, Dannon Activia yogurt is on sale for $2. Use the $1 coupon from 1/11 SS, and pick this up for just $1, or .25 a cup!
Dominick’s has a coupon in their current flier for a FREE Starbucks Tall Tea. It’s good on a 12-ounce full-leaf Tazo Tea Latte or Tazo Tea Infusion. Stop into a Dominick’s Starbucks and grab yourself a FREE tea!
The following are reprints from Tuesday’s deals, as they are still current:
Moving over to Walgreens… Equal 100 ct. sweetener packets are on sale for $2.49. Use the $2.50 coupon from 1/4 SS and pick these up for FREE!
AquaFresh toothpaste is on sale for $2.99. Grab the January EasySaver coupon for $2.00 off Aquafresh, and stack it with the 75-cent coupon from 1/4 SS, and you’ll be keeping your teeth nice and shiny for just .24 a tube!
And, if you feel a cold coming on, Halls cough drops are cheap after this coupon deal…! They’re on sale for 99 cents. Use the 50-cent coupons from 12/7 SS and 1/11 SS to pick these up for just 49 cents a bag.
Oust air sanitizer is on sale for $3.79, Buy One, Get One Free at Walgreens this week. There are some B1G1F coupons out that will either make them BOTH free, or very cheap:
Oust B1G1F up to $4.25 value – 1/4 SS
Oust B1G1F up to $3.49 value – 11/23 SS
(If you use the November coupon, it will only cover $3.49 of the $3.79 value, so you’ll end up paying 30 cents for your 2 cans – .15 each.)
Still at Walgreens, there’s a coupon in their weekly flier for a ream of computer paper for $2.99! If you have any Register Rewards burning a hole in your pocket, why not pick up some cheap computer paper… to print more coupons on :)
Over at CVS, a bunch of people in my web forum discovered a great deal on Febreze candles! Vanilla and Apple scented Febreze candles are scanning at either $1.99 or .79 cents. Use the $2 coupon from 12/14 PG and pick these up for FREE! Note that CVS does not allow coupon overage, so they will “adjust down” the value of your coupon to match the scanned price.
Still at CVS, here’s a cheese cracker moneymaker! CVS “Gold Emblem” brand of cheese snack crackers are on sale for $1.97. When you buy a box, you’ll get $1 back in Extra Care Bucks, making each box just .97.
Now, let’s add a coupon and make this a moneymaker! Sometimes CVS runs coupons in newspapers around the country, and right now they’ve got one in the online edition of the Baltimore Beacon News. But the coupon’s good nationwide..! Print that $3 off any CVS brand item coupon & use it on your crackers. Pay 94 cents for your 2 boxes of crackers and get $2 in ECBs! They’re paying you $1.06 to take the crackers home.
Or, if you don’t want crackers, use the same coupon to buy some CVS brand baby wipes (which would go well with the cheapie diapers from Jewel this week!) CVS wipes are on sale for $1.99. Buy 2 packs, use the $3 coupon, and pay just .49 a pack!
A note: This week was really a PERFECT example of why we shop Sunday-Wednesday. Kellogg’s cereals, which were $1.25 through Wednesday, are now “on sale” for $1.88. The Pop-Tarts, which were also $1.25, are now $2.50 a box. The price changes in one day are crazy! But the stores know that MOST people shop Thurs-Sat, and they raise the prices accordingly… it’s a game. But it’s one you can beat if you shop early in the week!

to get the Kotex (bought a different size so they were .24 each, still a GREAT price) and I thought I’d pick up a couple of travel size Downy and Head & Shoulders (with coupons, of course). The cashier would not let me use the coupons on the travel size!! She told me that the coupons were for the bigger size. So I responded that if I couldn’t use it on the travel size, it would say so, and suggested that she adjust the coupon to match the price. No go! I have bought the travel size Tide at this location before so I didn’t understand why this was a problem. I ended up not getting them and letting the issue go because the line was backed up and there were only a few cashiers working. Just frustrating to be able to do it one day and not the next!

I just went to Jewel and the South Beach cereal bars are 2/$6. I printed the $2 coupons Jill posted and Avenu has $1.50 off of South Beach cereal bars. They paid me .50 a box to take them home! Yay!
The $1.50 off was on the bottom Avenu coupons so you guys should have them too and they are good through Wednesday.
