Hello, Super-Couponers! I have to admit, it’s been a bit of a crazy week over here. In two days, this lovely little girl in the photo with me is turning sixteen years old. It was already surreal when she became a teenager three years ago, but now to have one that’s passed Driver’s Ed and has her eyes on our vehicles? The last few days have been filled with sweet sixteen party plans and moments of me reflecting on how quickly the years have gone by. It may sound cliche, but the words everyone says about children (“they grow up so fast”) couldn’t be more true. Much love to the Coupon Princess on her big day this Wednesday.
This week’s blog giveaway will be a hit with the younger crowd… the really-much-younger crowd! Enter to win a gift pack of organic baby food from Ella’s Kitchen, a well-known brand of baby food in the United Kingdom which has recently “crossed the pond” to gain popularity in the United States too.

“Deals of the Week” is written assuming you are using the inserts from the Chicago Tribune (or, if reading from outside Chicagoland, the largest newspaper serving your market area. That largest paper has the most, highest-value coupons. The content, coupons, and dollar amounts of the coupons in the RedPlum and SmartSource inserts differs by paper, so to coupon effectively, it’s best to subscribe to the paper that contains the highest-value coupons.)
They are now offering discount subscription codes for MULTIPLE newspaper to the same address! (Link opens in new window.)

Here’s a deal that my four-year-old spotted in the store this week! The single cup-servings of Oreos, Teddy Grahams, and other Nabisco snacks are on sale for $1. Use the $3-off-3 Nabisco coupon from 1/8 SS2 and get THREE free! (Seriously, I was so proud of him. He knew we had those 3-off-3s, as I showed them to him a couple of weeks ago and said when we saw crackers or cookies on sale for a dollar, they’d be free. We walked by a display and he said “MOM! They are a DOLLAR and they will be FREE!” Smartie!)
Another “spotted in the store” deal… 1-liter bottles of Coke Zero are on sale for .99. With the Facebook .99 off any Coke Zero product printable coupons, they’re FREE! 2-liters are also on sale at Jewel for $1.50 – they’d be .51 with coupon if you want to get more Coke Zero.
OR go for the 24-packs. They’re on sale for $6 each when you buy two. With two .99 Coke Zero coupons, pay $10.02 for two, or $5.01 each.
Remember last week’s double-dip deal on Kleenex? The double-dip continues this week with a different Catalina offer. Single boxes of Kleenex (75-184ct.) or Kleenex Cool Touch (50-69ct.) are on sale for $1.50. Just as last week, there’s a “Stay Healthy and Save” Catalina on Henkel and Kleenex products running from 1/15-2/16: Spend $10, get $3.
A new Kleenex Catalina’s running too: From 1/23 through 2/19, buy 50ct. Kleenex or larger: Buy 5, get a $1 Catalina; buy 6, get a $1.50 Catalina; Buy 7 or more, get a $2 Catalina. Thanks to Kelly and several other readers who emailed to say they’d received alerts for this one.
You’ll find your Kleenex coupons here:

Cool Touch Kleenex deal #2
Buy 7 boxes of Cool Touch Kleenex ($10.50)
Use as many .50 coupons from the 1/1 SS2 as you have
With seven coupons, pay $7 and get a $3 Catalina and a $2 Catalina. That’s $2 for 7 boxes, or about .29 each!
Both kinds of Kleenex deal #3
If you’re not a mega-insert getter, this might be an easier deal
Buy 4 boxes of Kleenex Cool Touch and 3 boxes of regular Kleenex ($10.50)
Use four .50 Cool Touch coupons and one .50-off-3 regular Kleenex coupon
Pay $8 and get a $3 Catalina and a $2 Catalina. That’s $3 for 7 boxes, or about .43 each.
PLEASE NOTE: The second Catalina is not supposed to start until 1/23. I tested the deal today (1/22) and did NOT get the second $2 Catalina, so I’d wait. Taking one for the team so you don’t have to…

Jewel is running an “A Taste Of Home” mail-in promotion on P&G products. Buy $25 worth of P&G products in one transaction and receive a 2-piece cookware set and one cookbook of your choice via mail (view ad here.)
The cookware is a 12-quart tamale steamer, a 5-cup rice cooker, and one of the following cookbooks: “Fresh Mexico,” “Latin Grilling,” or “Cocina Cubana.” $25 worth of goods must be purchased in the same transaction, and you must submit a receipt from the same store you found the forms in (must be from Jewel – cannot use a Dominick’s receipt, etc.)
The offer runs through 4/30/12, so we have lots of time to line this up to sales too. Look for the forms for this rebate in Spanish/Latino Jewel locations.

Are you a Meijer Mperks member? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.

If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they typically haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers.

Here are your Hilander deals (also running at Logli and Schnucks)… View weekly ad
The Rockford-area Logli stores share the same ad as Hilander (Schnucks) now, so these deals apply at the four Rockford-area Logli stores as well. I have had some readers from DeKalb write and ask if these deals will also apply to their store. In looking at both ads, SOME of the deals are the same, but Rockford at times has a Hilander-specific wraparound that isn’t a part of the DeKalb Schnucks ad. Remember too that the DeKalb store does not double coupons.
The current ad is good through TUESDAY, January 24th.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
I spotted a deal on Pictionary Man (the one where you draw on a plastic toy man to make him into a referee, surfer, or whatever your card says he should be!) It was on clearance for $10.99. With the $5 coupon from 1/22 SS or a printable, I paid $5.99!
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Did you see the nice new $5 Purina One Beyond dog food coupon in the 1/15 SS? 3.5lb. bags sell for about $6.49 at Walmart (that’s what they were priced at in my area, anyway.) Use the coupon and pay $1.49!
________________________________
If you’re still carrying around those $3-off-3 Nabisco coupons from the 1/8 SS2, check out the tiny, cute boxes of Wheat Thins and Ritz that I spotted at Walmart! Buy 3 and they’re FREE with coupon! One of my readers suggested buying the single-serve cups of Teddy Grahams with these coupons too, which are also a buck. My store didn’t carry those, but they had these.
Policies to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”
I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.
I do not blog Walmart deals each week unless there is a weekly ad with noteworthy deals. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* All You magazine: If you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s an inexpensive magazine ($2.49 an issue) that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! Subscribing via the pink banner on the right drops the price to $1.67 per issue. Depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

I just want to give everyone a heads up that my Meijer is a week ahead of yours so we had these deals last week. They work just fine BUT they will sell out of the applesauce and certain cereals. The restocked twice at mine during the week but by thursday were completely sold out of the applesauce. there were printable $0.50 off ONE box of cinnamon toast crunch (which at my miejer would double to $1) and $0.75 off ONE box of mulitgrain cheerios on the betty crocker website. the coupons were still there last night (i linked to them from totally target). those cereals were gone by Tuesday. Still a great deal if you’ve printed the $1.75 off 2 boxes of any GM cereal.
If you want to do these deals…i’d go today.

I just got back from buying prevacid at Walgreens. At first they told me I had to buy something else besides the $20 prevacid. I keep trying to get them to explain it to me because the ad says $20 or more. Finally she agreed to try it, but only without the $4 coupon. So I did it without the coupon and got my RR. Were they wrong about the $4 coupon also? I should of pushed, but I didn’t want to lose the $10 RR.

I went to my local CVS intent on purchasing my 4 12 pk cases of Coke. While I was there, I had made a comment to the assistant store manager that I wish I could take all the coke home. He asked me “why not” to which I replied, “you have a limit.” He informed me that his store manager was allowing him to sell more than 4 12pks to a customer if the customer did a separate transaction for each 4-12pks purchased and still get the 4/$10 price and earn it toward the CVS $10 cash card.
After buying 8 12-pks (2 separate transactions) and using my ECBs, I paid only $2.60 out of pocket!!!
