Unless otherwise noted, GROCERY store deals run through WEDNESDAY of this week,
and the drugstore/general merchandise store deals run through Saturday.

(Also, if you’re new, you may not have some of the coupon books that I refer to for some deals. Some coupon books can be found at the grocery store during seasonal promotions — look for them, as I’ll reference them when applicable. And, throughout the year, companies issue free coupon books that you can request to be mailed to you — register for them if you’d like, as I’ll reference them in future weeks’ deals.

“Deals of the Week” is written assuming you are using the inserts from the Chicago Tribune (or, if reading from outside Chicagoland, the largest newspaper serving your market area. That largest paper has the most, highest-value coupons. The content, coupons, and dollar amounts of the coupons in the RedPlum and SmartSource inserts differs by paper, so to coupon effectively, it’s best to subscribe to the paper that contains the highest-value coupons.)

IMPORTANT JEWEL-OSCO NOTE: All Jewel locations are in the process of updating their cash registers to a new system. If your store has updated to the new registers, and you are using TWO coupons on a Buy One, Get One Free sale, the register is currently scanning the second coupon as $0.00. The register will not beep and you will have no way of knowing your coupon’s value did not get recognized unless you are watching closely. Jewel is working on a solution to this problem and I have a response from corporate here indicating that their two-coupons-on-a-B1G1F policy has NOT changed. Watch your registers.

Let’s go to Dominick’s… View weekly ad | Load Dominick’s Just For U ecoupons and Deal Match offers

Note to Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Also in Chicago, previously-available ecoupons (Cellfire, ShortCuts and PGEsaver) have been discontinued. Ecoupons are now available in the “Just For U / Coupon Center” section of electronic coupons available at Dominicks.com.

Store Coupon Offers from this week’s Dominick’s ad

Dominick’s Coupons: These are store coupons found in the weekly Dominick’s flyer, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. You can also load some of these Dominick’s Coupons to your Fresh Values card via Dominicks.com and not have to clip them. Best bets this week?

In the June 7-13 flyer – “Great Prices on Summer Produce” on the cover:

Lucerne Large Eggs (dozen) are .99, limit 4, with coupon.

Morningstar Farms (5.25-14.5oz.) veggie products are $2.99, limit 4, with coupon. Use this $1 printable and pay $1.99! Beginning 6/11, they’re also part of a double-dip Catalina deal: Buy 3 and get a $2 Catalina; buy 4 and get a $3 Catalina, or buy 5 or more and get a $4 Catalina.
So, with 2 printables, buy three Morningstar ($8.97.) Use two $1 printables (now $6.97.) Pay $6.97 and get $2 back — that’s $4.97 for three, or about $1.66 each.
With access to two computers, print four coupons and buy four ($7.96.) Pay $7.96 and get a $3 Catalina. $4.96 for four is $1.24 each.
With access to three computers, print five coupons and buy five ($9.95.) Pay $9.95 and get a $4 Catalina. $5.95 for five is $1.19 each.
Pillsbury Cookie Dough and Cinnamon or Crescent Rolls (8-16.5oz.) are $1.99, limit 4, with coupon. For a cookie dough deal, buy two and use the .75-off-2 coupon from the 4/1 SS. You’ll pay $3.23 for two, or about $1.62 each. The rolls are not as good a deal with the coupons that are currently in play. (And even the cookie dough will be cheap again after July 4th..!)
Banana Boat and Coppertone Sport Sunscreen (6-8oz. lotion or spray) are on sale for $5.99 with coupon. For Banana Boat, use the $1 coupon from the 5/13 SS and pay $4.99! For Coppertone, there’s a $1 coupon in the 5/20 SS for the same price, OR, buy two and use the $3-off-2 in the 5/20 SS. You’ll pay $8.98 for two, or $4.49 each.

In the June 10-16 flyer, “Get Out and Grill” on the cover:

Betty Crocker Helpers (4.3-7.5oz.) are on sale for .99, limit 10, with coupon. Use the $1 off 2 coupon from Que Rica Vida “Musica Y Sabor” (General Mills’ Spanish home coupon mailer) and pay .98 for two, or .49 each! Or, buy three and use a .75 off 3 from 6/3 SS, 4/22 SS, or a printable (must sign in to print.) You’ll pay $2.22 for three, or .74 each.
Bulls Eye Barbeque sauce (18oz.) is .99, limit 3, with coupon.

Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts (8ct.) are on sale for $1.49, limit 4, with coupon. Buy three and use the $1-off-3 coupon from the 5/13 RP or a printable (Target manufacturer coupon.) You’ll pay $3.47 for three, or $1.16 each!
V8 Fusion Smoothies (36-46oz.) are $1.99 each, limit 3, with coupon. Use the .50 coupon from the 5/13 SS and pay $1.49!
Lysol cleaners (22-32oz. spray, 35ct. wipes, 24oz. toilet bowl or 3ct. sponges) are $1.99 each, limit 2, with coupon. Use the .50-off-2 printables and pay $3.48 for two, or $1.74 each.
The 6/10 SS also has a “Buy any 7 Lysol, Get $7 Rebate” offer form inside if you’re a rebater. You can send in multiple receipts for it.
Snapple 6-packs (16oz.) are $4.88. Use the $1 coupon from the 6/10 SS and pay $3.88! Look for “Try Me Free” rebate forms on these too to sweeten the deal.

Ranchers Reserve Beef Deal

Sunday’s ad has a good deal on Rancher’s Reserve tender beef: Spend $25, get a $5 Catalina; Spend $50, get a $12 Catalina; and Spend $80, get a $20 Catalina.

This week, Rancher’s Reserve Top Sirloin steak is $4.99/lb., and New York Strip Steak is $5.99/lb. If you buy a little over 5 pounds of Top Sirloin, you’ll pay $20 for 5 pounds, knocking about a dollar off per pound. Or, go with the New York Strip – about 4.18lbs. will get you to $25, and you’ll get $5 back, dropping that price as well.

Now, check your Just For U ecoupons! I have a $5-off-$20 ecoupon to add into this deal too. Nice!

Last Sunday’s ad contained a coupon for $3 off Dr. Pepper (12, 20, or 24ct. cans, one 16.9oz.-24oz. 6-pack bottles; or 3 2-liters) when you buy any Rancher’s Reserve beef. The coupon does not expire until 6/20, so keep holding onto last week’s ad! If you’re buying beef anyway, I’m thinking the three 2-liters would be your best bet here for your $3-off-Dr. Pepper coupon, simply because pop is usually high priced at Dominick’s outside of some crazy deal.

DEAL IDEAS:

If you need Bounty or Charmin, buy 3 packages ($29.97.) ECBs at CVS usually trigger when they’re within pennies of the total, but if you’re worried, you can throw in a .99 Puffs too. For this deal though, we’ll assume that you’re going with just Bounty or Charmin. Use three .25 coupons. Pay $29.22 and get $10 back! That’s $19.22 for three big paper packs, or about $6.41 each.

If you did an all-Bounty deal, that works out to about .53 per roll. For Charmin, that works out to about .40 per double roll – good prices all around.

CVS Tips: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the Coupon Center scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you! You may want to scan your coupon more than once – it’s been printing different coupons on subsequent scans!

And, if you haven’t already, make sure your CVS ExtraCare card is registered for the CVS Beauty Club before you do any deals involving beauty products. It gives you $5 in ECBs for every $50 you spend on beauty products, and it is cumulative, meaning you don’t have to spend $50 in one trip. It keeps track for you and will automatically print ECBs on your next visit to the store when you reach a $50 threshold.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…

Policies to know:

Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store. While the policy doesn’t require this, it does speed the price-matching along.
With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”

I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.

I do not blog Walmart deals each week unless there is a weekly ad with noteworthy deals. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)

Great adding “My List.” It is very helpful for many. I don’t want to complain, since I am very greatful for all the wonderful things you have done to improve your blog over time. However, is there a different screen we could click on to get rid of the “My List” option? I usually like to paste only parts of your blog into a Word program to print and the “My LIst” keeps popping up even if I am very careful. It takes a long time for my computer to close it each time…very slow due to virus protection.

Thank you so much for all your hard work in getting this blog together each week. Our family saves so much by following your blog. Also, on my Domicks Just For U, I have Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats coupon for $1.99 ea. good through Wed. I think there are $1/3 qs in 5/13 RP. I know this isn’t a great price, but I have to have my Mini Wheats every morn. Limit 4 (includes Raisin Bran & Frosted Flakes).

I also received a “Personal Price” of $1.95 for Cheetos or Fritos, 9.75oz bags.

Just FYI the Belvita coupon listed for Buy 1 Get 1 Free is actually for the little single bars up to $0.88 now. Maybe it was for the boxes before? The other $1 off one is still there.

I heard that at CVS it’s printing $10/$30 Gillette deal from the machine for the PG deal.

Also, the pricing is wrong on Del Monte deal at Jewel- you have to buy 5 cans for the Q, so it is $0.85/ can after the cat.

I loaded the various cuts of beef onto my card that’s for $2.99/lb. I also have a $5/$20 on my card, and I ended up earning a $5 OYNO cat. It is a store cat that you can you use on anything.

Check your coupons when youi scan your CVS card. I received a $7 off any physicians formula cosmetics. All Physicians formula eye products were 40% off. Picked up some eye shadow which rang up at $5.69. Free eye shadow + $1.31 overage. Sweet!

The only coupon that I see for the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (Dominick’s deal)on the link provided is a Publix store coupon. It has no upc on it. Is there another coupon that I’m missing?

at Wags. I caught a glimpse of the ad and saw Nestle/Skinny Cow candies for $.49 each this week. Isn’t there a q out there to make these free this week??? I know there are many fans of this out there!

UPDATE: I found it-it’s in the 4/29 ss and it’s a BOGO-2 for $.49-woohoooo!!!

On Saturday night I received an email from CVS requesting that I complete an online survey. If I completed the survey and my responses were received, I would get a $10 ECB.

I completed the survey and I was able to get the $10 ECB!!!

Anyone else get this survey?

I tried to get the free pantene at the Meijer in Oswego. The catalina didn’t print, and customer service said that since I used a coupon on the pantene that it wouldn’t print. I’m very new to couponing – is this to be expected at Meijer, or other places? Also, the shelf tag indicated that there’s a limit of one offer.

I don’t know if any of you have an Ultra Foods close by…My Ultra had Colgate on sale for .88, and the 6/3 SS had a coupon for .75 cents off any Colgate. I got each box for .13! I thought it was a pretty good deal :)

i have the $5/$20 personalized price on my doms card. if i buy $25 ranchers reserve and the $5 comes off will i still get the cat for buying $25 ranchers reserve? or do i need to buy $30?

When they had this deal before I bought the detangler and conditioner and the cat didn’t print. When I went to CS the girl had to call her manager but neither of them knew if it was considered a styling product or not, so they gave me a GC. I’ve always thought of it as a styling product.

I took my Q’s to Jewel today and they wouldn’t accept them. I printed them on 6/11/12 (the Q even stated when it was printed) and the expiration date in the upper right corner said 7/22/2012, but in the fine print of the details it plainly stated that “Coupon expires 5/13/12”! They wouldn’t accept them due to the conflicting expiration dates (which I totally get), I’m just wondering if anyone else had this happen. The Pepsi Q’s have matching expirations in these 2 areas. I’m not familiar with the site from which I printed them from…..

Any thoughts?
