Whew! The $20/$10 Catalina deal at Jewel finally ended on Sunday, and I can’t be the only one who is almost sighing with relief that it’s over. :) Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE those deals… but they’re so good they almost make you crazy chasing around and shopping too! :) Hopefully everyone has enough yogurt, cooking oil, ketchup, mustard, and popcorn to last a LONG long time..! A big welcome to this week’s new Super-Couponers from Mundelein, Skokie and Round Lake!
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. Unless otherwise noted, grocery store deals run through Wednesday of this week, and the pharmacy deals run through Saturday. And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing website for a list of FREE coupon classes and instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
Starting off at Jewel, as if we needed yet ANOTHER ice cream deal, they’ve got a “Buy 4, save $4” sale running on various ice creams. Here’s your breakdown on products and coupons to go with these…
Eskimo Pies: $3
$1 off 2 – 6/14 SS
$1 off 1 – 5/31 SS
Edy’s Dibs – $3
$1 off 2 – 6/14 SS
Edy’s Frozen fruit bars – $3.99
$1 off 2 – 6/14 SS
Edy’s ice cream tubs (no current coupons in inserts): $3
$1 off 2 – Jewel Preferred Card update booklet
Haagen-Dasz bars
$1 off 2 – 6/14 SS
Nestle Drumsticks
$1 off 2 – 6/14 SS
Example: If you bought 2 boxes Eskimo Pies and 2 tubs of Dibs, you’d pay $12. Minus coupons, $10 and get $4 back, which works out to $6 for 4 boxes, or just $1.50 a box!
If you get multiple inserts, use two $1 coupons on your 2 boxes of Eskimo Pies, plus 2 tubs of Dibs – pay $9 for 4 boxes and get $4 back… working out to $5 for 4 boxes, or $1.25 a box!
Still at Jewel, there’s a great deal going on Coke! Buy any 5 12-packs and they’re $2 a pack. AND, if you buy 5, you automatically get 2 free 14-16 oz. Hillshire Farms sausages FREE too! Make this deal sweeter with coupons… some of the pop cases have peelies for “$2 off 3,” and guess what… you can also use coupons on the Hillshire Farms too! Use the $1 off 2 coupon from 6/7 RP and apply that overage toward your pop too. With one peelie and the above coupon, pay $7 for 5 12-packs of Coke, or $1.40 each! Just in time for that 4th of July cookout!
And still at Jewel, Dr. Pepper 12-packs are also 5/$10 when you purchase 5. The Hillshire Farms sausages are not part of this deal, but some of the Dr. Pepper cases have $2 peelies on them too. If you like Dr. Pepper, pick it up CHEAP! If you don’t buy 5 cases at once, the cost of each is $2.50 – but with a peelie, it’s just .50.
Jewel also has a good deal going onCoffee-Mate creamers. They’re $2 each, and if you buy 3 or more, you get a $1 Catalina off your next order. If you get multiple inserts or have the Jewel Preferred Card update book, this is a sweet deal! Use the .50 coupon from 6/28 RP and the $1 off 2 coupon from the Jewel Preferred Card book. Pay $4.50 for 3 and get $1 back, making the cost of three $3.50, or about $1.16 each.
If you get multiple inserts, this one’s even better, as the Jewel Preferred booklet coupon is a -store- coupon. Stack three .50 manufacturer coupons with this coupon, pay $3.50 for 3 and get $1 back – that works out to just .83 each!

Still at Dominick’s, if you received your $5 coupon from “The Biggest Loser” Jennie-O turkey promotion, this isn’t a bad time to use it. Doms has ground turkey on sale 2 for $6. With coupon, that’s 2 lbs for $1…
And still at Dominick’s, have you checked out ShortCuts.com? You can add these coupons to your Dominick’s card and stack with them too! (PGEsaver.com and CellFire.com [links at right] do the same thing!)
Well, this week, Totino’s Pizza Rolls are on sale for .99 at Dominick’s. ShortCuts has a .55 off 2 e-coupon. The 2/9 GM and 1/25 SS have $1 off 2 coupons (4/5 SS also has a .40 off 2 coupon if you haven’t been doing this long.) With a $1 off 2 coupon, buy 2 boxes, stack the ShortCuts coupon with the manufacturer coupon and pay .43 for 2 boxes, or about .22 each!
Over at Walgreens, Right Guard or Dry Idea deodorant is a moneymaker on June 30 ONLY! It’s $2.99 with a $2 Register Reward. Use the $1 coupon from 4/19 SS, pay $1.99 and get $2 back. Free deodorant!
Still at Walgreens, Pringles chips are .99 a can! Use the $1 off 2 coupons from 6/28 RP or 5/17 PG (the latter expires today so use it soon!) and take these home for under .50 a can! Or, use the $1 Pringles coupons from the P&G $120 Year of Savings booklet (mailed out in January) and your Pringles will be FREE!
Note too on cheap fillers this week: If you are using up RRs and need cheap fillers, bottles of Wags hydrogen peroxide and Wags reusable shopping bags are just .34 each this week…
FREE stuff:
FREE Yoplait Whips yogurt coupon
FREE single M&M/Mars chocolate (every Friday through September, 2009.)
FREE tiny lunch. Print this coupon for a free original Slider (burger) at White Castle
FREE coupons that are still current:
5/17 SS – FREE Marcal Small Steps any single roll bath tissue, single roll paper towel or box of facial tissue (expires 6/30/09)
4/26 SS – FREE box Purina Kitten Chow (expires 7/26/09)
6/14 SS – FREE can of Mighty Dog dog food (expires 8/3/09)
Good coupons that are expiring soon:
If you mailed in for the P&G $120 Year of Savings book earlier this year, the first batch of coupons in the book are expiring 6/30. The $1 off Pringles works well at Wags this week, but pay attention to:
$1 off any Tide
$1 off any Downy
$1 off any Charmin
Jewel, Target, and other stores sell single-load Tides and Downys for $1. Get the little one for free if you aren’t going to use it on the big one :) Jewel also sells a travel/purse size tiny roll of Charmin for $1.29 – it would be .29 after coupon.
There’s also a $1 off Bounty coupon in there too, and single rolls aren’t terribly expensive — at Jewel, they’re $1.79, so they’d be .79 with coupon. Flip through and see if there are any others you’d like to use up before they expire!

There was no trial size Downy at the Jewel in North Riverside & the one in LaGrange Park. SuperTarget in Broadview also did NOT have it.

The Wrigley’s gum coupon is in the 6/28 SS, not the 6/28 RP. There is also an expired one in the 3/15 SS, and since Dominick’s takes expired, that should be good as well! Happy chewing!

My cashier at Jewel wouldn’t take the $1 off 2 Hillshire Farm coupon. She said they were already free. BUMMER!

If the pop tarts are .99 cents and the deal is buy 5 save $5, wouldn’t that make them free? Confused!

There is a printable on Coupons.com for $2 off any Dry Idea, so this is a money maker on the above scenario at Wags. I’m going there today to see if I can get some Pringles, Pantene, Dawn and some other stuff, so I’ll take this printable and see how it goes!

The Smart Water 1L bottles are on sale. There’s a coupon in 6/28SS for $1 off 2, making each one 50 cents. This is the best deal I’ve seen for them… and personally, I like them better than gatorade in the summer!

Edy’s is 3/$7 at Target and there are $1 store coupons on their website. There were also $0.50 coupons in the Summertime Savings booklet that was on the A&W at CVS (I’m sure it was at other places, but that’s where I found it). Each 1.5 qt could cost you $0.83 ($2.33 less $1 Target coupon less $0.50 manufacturers coupon). I know most of us are overloaded with ice cream, but Edys is our favorite here.

Has anyone seen these peelies or is Jill just lucky? Been to 3 and no sign of these.

I feel like I’m loosing it with the kids home for the summer…I just can’t think straight…so any help is greatly appreciated!

I found a deal at Super Walmart (Montgomery, IL) for the pint of Starbucks Ice Cream. It was marked $2.50 each and I used the $2.00 off coupon from 6/21 S. Got it for $.50. There is also a coupon at coupons.com for $1.00 off.

I don’t know if anyone listed these good deals yet and the Hershey’s Chocolate deal expires today 6/1/09…but at Jewel if you buy Honey Maid Graham crackers for $2.50 and Jet-Puffed Marshmallows for $1.00 you get a free 6 pack of Hershey’s Chocolate Bars…add in the $1.00 off coupon on Honey Maid Grahams from the 5/17 S2 when you purchase the marshmallows and chocolate and you get it all for only $2.50. Also, the gill mates seasonings are on sale for 2/$1.00…add in the $.50/1 coupon from the 4/19 RP and they are free…that deal runs through the next week I think.
