Unless otherwise noted, GROCERY store deals run through WEDNESDAY of this week,
and the drugstore/general merchandise store deals run through Saturday.

(Also, if you’re new, you may not have some of the coupon books that I refer to for some deals. Some coupon books can be found at the grocery store during seasonal promotions — look for them, as I’ll reference them when applicable. And, throughout the year, companies issue free coupon books that you can request to be mailed to you — register for them if you’d like, as I’ll reference them in future weeks’ deals.

“Deals of the Week” is written assuming you are using the inserts from the Chicago Tribune (or, if reading from outside Chicagoland, the largest newspaper serving your market area. That largest paper has the most, highest-value coupons. The content, coupons, and dollar amounts of the coupons in the RedPlum and SmartSource inserts differs by paper, so to coupon effectively, it’s best to subscribe to the paper that contains the highest-value coupons.)

IMPORTANT JEWEL-OSCO NOTE: All Jewel locations are in the process of updating their cash registers to a new system. If your store has updated to the new registers, and you are using TWO coupons on a Buy One, Get One Free sale, the register is currently scanning the second coupon as $0.00. The register will not beep and you will have no way of knowing your coupon’s value did not get recognized unless you are watching closely.   • Essential Everyday Mustard is on sale for $1. Use the $1 coupon from the Jewel “Summer Fun” booklet and it’s FREE!
     
  • Essential Everyday bagged croutons (5oz.) are on sale for $1.25. Use the $1 coupon from the Jewel “Summer Fun” booklet and pay .25!
     
  • Essential Everyday Long or Medium Grain Rice (32oz.) is on sale for $1.50. Use the $1 coupon from the Jewel “Summer Fun” booklet and pay .50!
     
  • Essential Everyday Wide Pan Bread (24oz.) is on sale for $1.99. Use the $1 coupon from the Jewel “Summer Fun” booklet and pay .99!
     
  • Essential Everyday graham crackers (14.4oz.) are on sale for $2. Use the $1 coupon from the Jewel “Summer Fun” booklet and pay $1!

(Incidentally, there are a lot of other good deals with these coupons. Several readers have posted deals on bagged and canned Essential Everyday beans, which run $1.19-$1.29. After coupon, knock off a buck! Remember that these coupons are limited to one per transaction.)

With the $1.50-off-2 coupon, pay $1.99 for two, or about $1 each! With two $1 printables, pay $1.49 for two, or about .75 each!

Here are your products and matchups:

  • Keebler Chips Deluxe Cookies (13.3-14.8oz.) – $1.99
    – .75 off 2 – 4/15 RP
  • Keebler Club Crackers (11-16oz.) – $1.99

The Chips Deluxe work out to $3.23 for two, or about $1.62 each.

Through 7/8, Buy 2 Kikkoman Sauces or Marinades and get a $1 Catalina; Buy 3 and get a $2 Catalina.

The teriyaki sauce is on sale for $2.39. There’s a $2 printable coupon (hit print limit) and a $1 printable coupon. The new 6/3 SS1 has a .55 coupon and the May All You has a .50 coupon too. (AND, Target’s site has a $1.25 off 3 printable) .If you’re on Facebook, head over to Kikkoman’s wall and click “Secret Savings” to print either a $1 or $2 coupon for the marinade!

Now, let’s put it all together. Buy three Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade & Sauces ($7.17.) Use two $2 printables and one $1 printable (now $2.17.) Pay $2.17 and get a $2 Catalina! That’s .17 for three, or about .06 each! (If you have two computers to print from, use three $2 coupons. Pay $1.17 and get $2 back for a moneymaker!)

The 6/3 SS1 also has a “Buy 3 Kikkoman, Save $2 on Beef” coupon that you may be able to work into this deal too. (But, if it is keyed to ring off of the Kikkoman, the register may not accept it once coupons are used on the Kikkoman first. Just have to try.)

If the $2 coupon hits its print limit, try this: buy three Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade & Sauces ($7.17.) Use two $1 printables and one .50 coupon (now $4.67.) Pay $4.67 and get a $2 Catalina! That’s $2.67 for three marinades, or .89 each. OR, go to Meijer, where some stores have Kikkoman on sale for $1.59… more on that in a moment.

BONUS: For buying Kikkoman at Jewel, you’ll also get a FREE Food and Beverage Tasting Card for the Better Homes & Gardens / Weber Grill “Chill and Grill” festival at Waveland Park in Chicago on June 9-10. That’s good for $6 worth of food in the park…

The 4/22 SS has a $1 coupon for a half-pound of DiLusso meat or cheese, and there’s still a $1 printable too if you haven’t printed it yet. (You will need to enter an Illinois zip code to view the coupon.)   AND, the 6/3 SS2 has a coupon for $1 off a half-pound of DiLusso Artisan Cheese too. So, grab two coupons and buy a half-pound of ham and a half-pound of cheese of your choice. (This is your chance to go for a pricier cheese too as the price of the cheese does not matter.) Remember that Jewel allows you to use a coupon on the free item in a buy-one-get-one-free situation, so use one on the meat and one on the cheese. With two coupons, pay $1.99 for everything!

And, for more, Stonyfield Organic Milk half-gallons are also $3.50. Use this .50 printable and pay $3!

Deal Ideas: There aren’t a lot of coupons out right now for these products, but this is a pretty good price for pancake mix. And, the Quaker breakfast bars are .88 after coupon!

Reader ShwaramaFan did a price-check and emailed that the regular-size shampoos and conditioners (I believe these are 10oz.) are $3.24, and hair spray is $4.49. Buy one of each (now $7.73) and use the $3-off-2 coupon from the 5/13 PG. Pay $4.73 and get a $5 Catalina… and you’ve got FREE Pantene!

It’s also part of a National YourBucks Catalina offer: Through 7/8, Buy 2 Kikkoman Sauces or Marinades and get a $1 Catalina; Buy 3 and get a $2 Catalina.

Print two $1 printable coupons. And, if you’re on Facebook, head over to Kikkoman’s wall and click “Secret Savings” to print either a $1 or $2 coupon for the marinade! The Rockford-area Logli stores share the same ad as Hilander (Schnucks) now, so these deals apply at the four Rockford-area Logli stores as well. The current ad is good through TUESDAY, June 5th.

Schnucks Grocery Deals

Buying 3 will cost you $6 and you’ll get $2 back. That’s $4 for three, or about $1.33 each.
Buying 4 will cost you $8 and you’ll get $3 back. That’s $5 for four, or $1.25 each.
Buying 5 will cost you $10 and you’ll get $4 back. That’s $6 for five, or $1.20 each.

It gives you $5 in ECBs for every $50 you spend on beauty products, and it is cumulative, meaning you don’t have to spend $50 in one trip. It keeps track for you and will automatically print ECBs on your next visit to the store when you reach a $50 threshold.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…

Wal-Mart Store Deals

Policies to know:

  • Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store. While the policy doesn’t require this, it does speed the price-matching along.
     
  • With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
     
  • With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
     
  • Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”
     

I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.

I do not blog Walmart deals each week unless there is a weekly ad with noteworthy deals. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.

  2. some pantene items at the orland store are clearanced priced. i got some conditioner for $2.16.
    i have been rolling between the pantene deal and the oscar mayer deal for several days now. if you start with the pantene deal you will have between $3-$4 oop. you will get a $5 store catalina. then you go and purchase 5 oscar mayer 2oz lunch meat. pay with the catalina and your oop is zero. not even tax cause its a store catalina.with the oscar mayer you get a $4 catalina. then you use that catalina and a $3/2 and get free pantene(make sure to have a few ears of corn or something else in your order to use up the overage. might as well get the full value).plus you get the $5 catalina to use again on the oscar mayer. and so on and so on.you cant split the orders per the new coupon policy but you can exit and re-enter the store. or if close enough you can spread out over several days.

  11. Sunday I went to CVS ready to buy razors with 2 B1G1 free coupons in hand. I bought 4 packages of different varieties of Gillette Venus razors. Each was $11.49. So I was well over the $30. The $10 ECB did not print out and my receipt said I had only spend $11.49 towards the $30 total. The add clearly says ALL Gillette shaving products are part of the deal. They are very nice at CVS and printed out my ECB’s for me because they were also puzzled why it didn’t work. So, check your receipt and ECB’s when you go to the store.

    Also, my CVS in Mt Prospect only had one of the varieties of BIC soleil razors and they were sold out. So the cashier let me pick a different kind of Soleil and forced the ECB’s for me. They are very nice there, I have to say.

    I bought a mascara and an eyeliner for $8.39 each = $16.78 – $4 CVS Q, -$2 manuf Q, -$3.36(20%), – $3 ECB = $4.42
