Hello, Super-Couponers! I’m back from lovely Charleston, South Carolina, where it was a balmy 70 degrees. What a way to spend a weekend… with sunshine, palm trees, Southern hospitality… and 2500 Super-Couponers! Oh yes… in case you missed the news, my “little” Super-Couponing class sold out a 2500-seat auditorium on Saturday! And, even though my workshop began at 11am, people were lined up at 7am to get in. It was an amazing day and a record-breaker all around — by far, the LARGEST audience I’ve ever spoken to!
I want to thank both The Post and Courier, which my newspaper column appears in every Wednesday, as well as Piggly Wiggly for sponsoring this gigantic event, which also included a mini-expo of manufacturers and vendors distributing free product samples and coupons for the crowd as well. You can read an article about the day, or watch a news video clip too, which called it “The largest couponing extravaganza ever held in the United States!” (Links open in new windows, so you can still read the Deals!)
AND… from the bottom of my heart, thank you to the thousands of South Carolina couponers who came out on Saturday to my class. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you afterward, and I can’t express how wonderful it was to see such an amazing turnout. The South Carolina stores had better be ready for a swarm of shoppers armed with new couponing knowledge!
And now, it’s time for Deals of the Week once again. I’ve got all the best supermarket and drugstore deals of the week written just for you… all in one place, on one page! As always, grab your scissors and coupon inserts, and get ready to start clipping this week, as bunches of bargains and freebies are heading your way!
This week’s newspaper contained two coupon inserts: SmartSource (SS) and RedPlum (RP.)

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel… (View weekly ad)
This week’s 2011 Jewel Freezer Deal coupon matchups:
Dean’s Churn Ice Cream: It’s currently on sale B1G1F again through 3/16! If you missed this the last time it was B1G1F, use your coupon for one free carton this week and get TWO free!
My daughter’s favorite food is on sale again… pierogies! Mrs. T’s Pierogies are on sale for $2 a box. Use the $1 coupons from 3/6 RP, March All You or a printable or another printable or ANOTHER printable and pay $1! There’s also a $1-off-2 coupon in the 1/30 RP1.
(These pierogies are even cheaper at Meijer this week though if you shop there as well… read on if you’d rather pay .33 a box!)
Deli Swiss cheese deal! Kerrygold Swiss Cheese in the deli is on sale for $3.99 per half-pound. This is more than I like to spend for deli cheese, so let’s use a coupon… with a twist. Keep reading…
First, print this coupon for $1 off ANY Kerrygold butter or cheese.
Now, here’s where the fun begins. Half a pound of deli Kerrygold Swiss cheese is $3.99. A quarter-pound is about $2. If you have the deli slice about a quarter-pound, use the $1 off ANY Kerrygold coupon and pay $1!
If you want a very small quantity of sliced cheese, 1/8th of a pound would be close to $1, and you’d pay just change for it after the coupon. Remember, you cannot use this coupon if the cheese’s value is under $1 though, under Jewel’s current coupon policy. I’m going with the 1/4 lb. cheese for $1 here as we love Swiss, and that is a better price at the deli.
(This is also a great price for Kerrygold in general if you like their products. To compare, Meijer has Kerrygold Irish Cheddar cheese on sale this week – 7-ounce packages are $4.99..!)
Reader Tmurphy spotted a great deal on Dean’s Dip! It’s on sale for $2 a tub, and it’s also part of a Catalina deal – buy two and receive a $1 Catalina. Use a coupon to make this even better… the 1/23 SS has a $1-off-2. So, buy 2 tubs of dip. With coupon, pay $3 and get a $1 Catalina, knocking these to just $1 each!
Butterball Turkey Bacon (12oz.) is on sale for $2.99. Use the .55 coupon from 1/16 SS and pay $2.44! There’s also a .50 coupon in the March All You.
Jewel’s flyer is showing Post Honey Bunches of Oats on sale for $1.69 each. Unfortunately, the ad is NOT showing the raisin variety, which of course there are nice $1 coupons in the 2/27 SS for. IF the new raisin kind is included, they’d be .69, but as I just got back from traveling this weekend, I didn’t have a chance to get to Jewel to check prices in-store yet.
UPDATE! Many readers have written to say that the Raisin Medley IS included, so you’re looking at .69 cereal! Sweet!
16lb.-17.6lb. Kibbles N’ Bits Dog Food is on sale for $9.99. Use the $2 coupon from 2/20 RP and pay $7.99.
“No Coupon Needed” Deals
Indian Summer apple juice (64oz.) is on sale for $3.49, Buy One Get One Free. That works out to about $1.75/bottle.
96oz. Jewel orange juice is $3.99.
24oz. jars of Wild Harvest Organic applesauce are $2.69.
8oz. tubs of Jewel sour cream are $1.
32oz. bags of Jewel Powdered or Brown Sugar are $1.67.
Jewel-Osco information:
Jewel-Osco has a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there (and they answer promptly!)
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too.
Coupon books currently found at Jewel:
Value Your Heart – $35 worth of coupons, including one for a free 8-pack of Coke when you buy 3 12-packs
Jewel meat deals:
- Reuben corned beef brisket point cut is $1.69/lb.
- Perdue chicken drumsticks or thighs are $1.69/lb.
- Perdue ground chicken and turkey burgers are $3.99, B1G1F for a 1lb. package – that’s about $2/lb. (remember to buy 2!)
Jewel produce deals:
- Green cabbage is .39/lb.
- 3lb. bags of Red B Potatoes are $1.99 – that’s about .66/lb.
- 5lb. bags of red grapefruit are $3.49 – that’s about .70/lb.
- Farm Stand baby peeled carrots are $1.99, B1G1F for a 1lb. bag – that’s about $1/lb. (Remember to get 2 bags!)
- 3lb. bags of sweet onions are $2.99 – that’s about $1/lb.
- 3lb. bags of Cara Cara navel oranges are $3.49 – that’s about $1.16/lb.
- Broccoli crowns or cauliflower are $1.29/lb.
- Ambrosia or Pink Lady apples are $1.99/lb.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Let’s go to Dominick’s (View weekly ad)…
Note to Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Also, in Chicago, previously-available ecoupons (Cellfire, ShortCuts and PGEsaver) have been discontinued. Ecoupons are now available in the “Just For U / Coupon Center” section of electronic coupons available at Dominicks.com.
Dominick’s Super Coupons:
These are store coupons found in the weekly Dominick’s flyer, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. You can also now load these Super Coupons to your Fresh Values card via Dominicks.com and not have to clip them. Best bets this week?
In the Mar. 10-Mar. 16 flyer – “4 Day Sale” on cover:
- If you missed the “Swiffer Refill Insanity” last week at Jewel, Dominick’s has Swiffer Refills (6-32ct.) on sale for $7.99, limit 3, with Super Coupon. Use the B1G1F coupon from 2/27 PG and pay $7.99 for TWO, or about $3.50 each.
- Clorox bleach (82-96oz.) is on sale for $1.49, limit 2, with Super Coupon. Print this .25 printable and pay $1.24.
- Silk Soymilk is on sale for $2.79, limit 3, with Super Coupon. Use the .75 coupon from 2/6 SS and pay $2.04.
In the Mar 13.-Mar. 19 flyer – “St. Patrick’s Day Savings!” on cover:
- 6-packs of Snapple are $4.88 each, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Use the $1 coupon from 1/30 SS (expires TODAY, March 14th!) and pay $3.88. Look on Snapple displays for a mail-in rebate form too which you can send in to make this FREE!
- 2lb. bags of Waterfront Bistro medium raw shrimp are $7.98, limit 5, with Super Coupon. That’s $3.99/lb., an excellent per-pound price for shrimp!
- 3-packs of Jell-O Gelatin pudding snacks are $1.99 each, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Print a .75 coupon and pay $1.24! These are also part of a national Catalina deal… continue reading this week’s Dominick’s deals for a scenario!
THROUGH MONDAY ONLY: If you like these offers, jump on them today:
Lucerne 16oz. butter is $2.99.
16oz. loaves of Nancy Martin Bread are .88 each.
Doritos (11.5-13oz.) are $1.50/bag.
Here’s a deal on Jell-O refrigerated pudding or gelatin cups. They’re on sale for $1.99 each with Super Coupon. Jell-O cups (and Jell-O Temptations cups, which are also $1.99 for a 3-pack) are also involved in a Catalina sale, with a $3.00 Catalina when you buy 4.
You’ll want to add some coupons into the mix too before we get started… here’s are .75 Jell-O and $1 Jell-O Temptations printables (print 2 of each!) or the 2/13 SS has a .50 coupon as well.
So… buy two Jell-O 6-packs and two Jell-O Temptations 3-packs ($7.96)
Use two .75 printables and 2 $1 printables.
Pay $4.46 and get $3 back! That’s $1.46 for all four, or about .37 per multipack.
Cans of Hormel Chili are .75 each when you buy FOUR. You must buy 4 or more to get the .75/can price. Use the $1.50-off-3 coupon from February All You and pay $1.50 for 4, or about .38 each!
Another way to do the deal… the 2/13 SS has a $1-off-3 coupon. With two coupons, buy 6 cans ($4.50.) Use two $1-off-3 coupons and pay $2.50 for six cans, or about .42 a can.
Dominick’s is running a “Buy 4, Save $4” sale on Breyers, Starbucks, Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum, Klondike, Bertolli’s and P.F. Chang’s through 3/22/11. Prices shown in the ad are AFTER instant savings. You must buy four to receive the prices shown.
Honestly, nothing in the ad looks terribly great to me, except the Magnum Belgian Chocolate ice cream bars. Magnum promises “the most intense ice cream pleasure.” Magnum bars come in 3-packs and are $2.49 when you buy 4. Here’s a $1 coupon (print 2!) and you’ll drop these to $1.49 a box. That’s still .50 per bar, but they look pretty tasty for a “luxury” ice cream bar.
If you have access to two computers, print 4 and do an all-Magnum deal.
Arm & Hammer 55oz-68.75oz. laundry detergent and 144ct. fabric softener sheets are on sale for $3.99 per bottle or box of sheets. If you buy 3 or more, the price drops to $3 each.
The 2/13 SS has a $1-off-2 coupon for any Arm & Hammer laundry products. If you’ve got two of these coupons, the easiest deal is to buy 4 items. For this example, I’ll assume you’re buying the detergent, because you should probably have a nice stockpile of FREE Gain fabric softener sheets from previous deals, correct?
So, buy four 44-load bottles of detergent ($12.) Use two $1-off-2s and pay $10 for 4 bottles, or $2.50 each – that’s about .06 per load.
Dannon DanActive yogurt 4-packs are $1.99 each. Use $1 DanActive coupon from 3/6SS and pay .99!
New Just For U ecoupons on Dominicks.com: 16oz. Perdue Lean Ground Turkey for $1.99, and Safeway Canned Vegetables for .50 each, limit 4.
Dominick’s is also running a Buy One, Get One Free sale on a variety of cheeses. Here they are, with matchups…
Kraft Cracker Barrel Cheese Chunks
– $1 off 2 – Game Day Playbook coupon book (in-store – Guy Fieri on cover)
Kraft Cream Cheese
– $1 off 2 – Game Day Playbook coupon book
Kraft Natural Slices
– $1 off 2 – Game Day Playbook coupon book
Kraft Shredded Cheese
– $1 off – printable
– $1 off 2 – 3/13 SS, Game Day Playbook coupon book
Kraft Singles
– .55 off – 2/13 SS
– $1 off 2 – 2/13 SS, Game Day Playbook coupon book
Sorrento String Cheese
Of course, there are no prices in the ad, which is usually a clue that they’re not on sale. Again, due to spending the weekend with my Charleston Super-Couponers, I didn’t make it to Dominick’s to scope this out, but one reader said most cheeses were $3.99 at her store.
Please feel free to post if you spot a deal with this. Now, if you have any of these items locked in on your Just For U at a good price, this could be a fun one — several readers have written to say that they have Kraft shredded cheese for $1.94. If you do, use a $1 coupon on the first bag and pay .94 for TWO, or .47 a package! A STEAL!
“No Coupon Needed” deals:
Artisan bulk bagels are .33 each.
Mott’s Apple Juice and Ocean Spray Cranberry drinks (64oz.) are 3-for-$5, or about $1.67 each.
If you haven’t yet signed up for the “Just For U“ electronic discounts that you can load to your Dominick’s Fresh Values card, you may want to. For registering your card, you’ll receive an ecoupon for a FREE 12-ct. Lucerne large eggs! You’ll also activate a set of electronic discounts that are tied to your card for the next 90 days. Each person’s discounts are different, and they’re based on past purchases made with your Fresh Values card at Dominick’s.
Coupon booklets currently found at Dominick’s
Note that this is a listing of what you MAY find. Coupon books tend to move very quickly once they become available! Look on displays throughout the store to find them. Some Dominick’s are now keeping these coupon books behind the Customer Service counter, so you may want to ask at your store.

Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, St. Charles, and the Indianapolis area: (View weekly ad)…
Here’s a fun deal on Starkist Tuna! This week, Starkist tuna pouches are on sale 20% off, which makes them about $1 each at most Meijer locations (regular prices do vary a bit store to store.) For this example, I will use $1 as the price per pouch.
Meijer Mealbox currently has a $1-off-2 store coupon. The 3/6 RP insert has a $1.50-off-3 coupon, but to do this deal well, you’ll need a second coupon from the same insert.
Now, assuming $1 per pouch, buy six ($6.)
Use three $1-off-2 Mealbox coupons (now $3) and two $1.50-off-3 coupons (now FREE!)
Best part? This deal is also generating a $1.50 Catalina for buying 5 or more pouches, which makes this a moneymaker!
Mrs. T’s Pierogies are on sale 3-for-$5, about $1.67 a box. Use the $1 coupons from 3/6 RP, March All You or a printable or another printable or ANOTHER printable and pay .67! There’s also a $1-off-2 coupon in the 1/30 RP1 that will net you more boxes for $1.07 each.
As if that weren’t good enough… buying 3 Mrs. T’s Pierogies will also net you another $1 in instant savings! With three $1 coupons, buy 3, pay $2… and get another $1 off. Three boxes for $1 is about .33 a BOX, and a stock-up-like-mad price for pierogies!
Here’s a deal on Jell-O refrigerated pudding or gelatin cups. They’re on sale for $2.50 each. For each 6-pack of the cups that you buy, you’ll get a 3-pack of Jell-O Temptations Pie or Cheesecake flavor FREE! Now, these Jell-O cups are also involved in a Catalina sale for a super double dip this week, with a $3.00 Catalina when you buy 4.
You’ll want to add some coupons into the mix too before we get started… here’s a .75 printable (print 2!) or the 2/13 SS has a .50 coupon as well.
Let’s put the deal together…
Buy 2 Jell-O 6-packs and 2 Jell-O Temptations 3-packs. ($5.)
Use two .75 printables. (Meijer typically will not allow a manufacturer coupon on a free item, so we won’t worry about the Temptations.)
Pay $3.50 and get $3 back! That’s .50 for all four, or about .13 per multipack. Super cheap!
Yoplait Trix Yogurt, GoGurt, and Splitz are all on sale 3-for-$5, or $1.67 each. There are quite a few .75-off-2 coupons out for the Trix and GoGurt: 2/13 GM, 1/30 SS, or a printable. With any of these coupons, buy two 6-packs of Trix or GoGurt and pay $2.59 for two, or about $1.30 each.
The 2/13 GM also has a .50 off Splitz coupon, which will knock those 4-packs to $1.07 each!
Gorton’s fish sticks, battered or breaded fillets or tenders (17.3-24.5oz.) are on sale for $3.49. There are .50 Gorton’s coupons in the Dominick’s $70 Playbook coupon book, 2/13 SS and the 1/16 SS, $1-off-2 printables here, and if you’ve got any Gorton’s products currently in the freezer, they may have $1-off-2 coupons inside as well.
This deal gets better because you’ll get $1 in instant savings for buying any TWO Gorton’s frozen items! So, buying two knocks the price down to $2.99 per package. Coupons will take another .50 off, bringing you to a very nice price of $2.50 each, particularly for the 20-ounce and larger sizes.
Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers are on sale Buy One, Get One Free this week at Meijer. Their regular price is $2.19 at most stores. But, Meijer Mealbox has a $1-off-2 coupon. Print it and plan to buy FOUR. Why? Meijer store coupons will typically not ring “off” the price of the free item.
So, buy FOUR. The $1-off-2 takes .50 off each price of the two bags you’re paying for, and you’ll pay $3.38 for four, or about .85 a bag. Not bad for Goldfish…
Reader Penny J Pincher spotted a great deal on Meijer High Performance Laundry Detergent. The 40oz. bottle is on sale for $4.00 this week. Catalinas have been printing recently for… you guessed it… $4 off Meijer High Performance Laundry Detergent. If you’ve got one, now would be the best time to use it, as the detergent will be FREE!
BONUS: Penny writes that another $4 detergent Catalina printed with each transaction she did (even on unrelated grocery items) and after three transactions, she had 3 more $4 Catalinas to spend. If you’re splitting up transactions, watch that printer… and you may be able to go collect free detergent for your last round through the lane!
Aunt Millie’s Healthy Goodness breads and buns are on sale for $3.29, Buy 1, get 2 FREE. Use a .55 off bread printable for your first package, and get the other two free, paying $2.74 for all three packages, or about .91 each.
(Note that SOME local newspapers OTHER than the Tribune [like the Herald, etc.] occasionally have Aunt Millie’s coupons too in the RedPlum insert – it’s one of those odd regional rarities. And, Meijer typically does not allow you to use a manufacturer coupon on a free item… otherwise, it would be a little sweeter with 2 or 3 coupons.)
Pillsbury Refrigerated Grands biscuits (12-16oz.) are on sale for .99 a can. Use this .40-off-2 printable, buy two and pay .79 per can. There’s also a .35-off-2 coupon in the 2/13 GM.
Yes, we do see Grands cheaper than this, but if you’re not stocked up (or have a freezer stacked with Grands, Tetris-style!) this price isn’t terrible.
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks were on sale for crazy-cheap last week at Dominick’s. But if you missed that deal, they’re now on sale for 3-for-$5 (about $1.67 each) at Meijer. They’re also involved in a double-dip Catalina sale: Buy 3 get $1 Catalina; Buy 4 get $2 Catalina; Buy 5 or more, get $3 Catalina.
There are lots of coupons available for this deal. Find .50-off-2 coupons in the 3/6 SS, 2/13 GM printable, printable, printable, printable (Target manufacturer coupon.)
So, buy 5 boxes of fruit snacks ($8.33)
Use two .50-off-2 coupons ($7.33)
Pay $7.33 and get a $3 Catalina – $4.33 for 5 boxes of fruit snacks is about .87 a box.

Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. most of Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the oter Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
Here are your Hilander and Kroger deals (View weekly Hilander ad | View weekly Kroger ad)…
Hilander’s ad is kind of slow-ish this week, but there are some good deals carried over from last week’s ad too.

Drugstore Deals
Heading to Walgreens (View weekly ad)…
Is there ever a week without FREE stuff at Walgreens? Not often. This week’s no exception, so we’ll kick things off with FREE Right Guard Deodorant or Body Wash! They’re on sale for $3.99, Buy One, Get One Free. Use the B1G1F coupon from 3/13 RP, buy two, and pay… NOTHING! Two are FREE!
This one’s going to fly this week, so make sure you get rainchecks. With the coupon expiring on April 10th, you’ve got almost a month to cash in on this deal IF you get a raincheck.
Mini Super-Couponing lesson: Why does this work? When you use a B1G1F coupon during a B1G1F sale, you will buy none and get two free. Here’s why… and remember, it’s important to think of your coupons AS cash. If you walk into the store and give them $3.99 in cash, how many Right Guard deodorants will that pay for? Two — because the store is selling you two for $3.99. Now, look at your B1G1F coupon. What is its value? Up to $4.49. Think of coupon as stating “up to $4.49 off two Right Guard deodorants,” and when the price of two deodorants is $3.99… the coupon’s up-to-$4.49 value pays the entire price. You WILL pay tax on the pre-coupon price, as always… but both items will be free.
It’s important to note too that you do not get coupon overage with a free or B1G1F coupon when the value is “up to $4.49.” Legally, the cashier must enter the price of the first item, which in this case is $3.99. The store’s B1G1F sale makes the second item FREE. If you like learning coupon tips like these, check out my Super-Couponing workshop or DVD!
And, as long as you’re getting FREE deodorant this week, why not get some more? Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day this week, Irish Spring deodorant is on sale 2-for-$6. Buy two and get $4 back in Register Rewards!
Print two $1 coupons. Buy two, and after coupons pay $4. Get $4 back in Register Rewards and… BOTH are FREE!
There’s also a .50 Irish Spring coupon in the 3/13 SS for more cheap deodorant.
Walgreens diaper deal! Walgreens W (store-brand) jumbo packs of diapers or training pants are on sale for $8.99, Buy One Get One Free. At the store, look for the Infant Care coupon book (many people have spotted it in the baby aisle or at the makeup counter.) Inside, there’s a $2 off W Diapers coupon. With it, pay $6.99 for TWO, or about $3.50 a pack!
(Note that Walgreens DOES allow two coupons on a B1G1F sale, so you can try to use two $2 coupons on each pack to drop this to $4.99 for two, or $2.50 each. However, this particular coupon has NOT been scanning automatically off each pack. Print and carry their policy from their website if you wish to try.)
Purex Complete Fabric Softener is on sale for $4.99. Buy it and get $2 back in Register Rewards! Use the $2 coupon from this week’s 3/13 RP, pay $2.99 and get $2 back. It’s yours for .99!
Purex also has a $1 Facebook printable which will net you $1.99 fabric softener.
Dial Gold Liquid Hand Soap is .99 a bottle (9.375oz.,) limit 3, with the store coupon in this week’s Wags ad. Stack this with the .35 coupon from this week’s 3/13 RP and pay .64!
Another Dial deal: Dial NutriSkin Lotion (21oz. – big bottle!) is on sale for $4.99. Buy it and get $3 back in Register Rewards! Make the deal better by using the $1 coupon from 3/13 RP. Pay $3.99 and get $3 back, dropping your lotion to just .99!
Here’s a deal on Herbal Essences and Aussie hair care. It’s on sale for $2.99. Buy a bottle and get $1 back in Register Rewards!
Now, even though you’ll only get ONE $1 RR, we’re going to buy TWO bottles to do this deal. Grab your 3/13 SS and cut the coupon for “Buy one Aussie or Herbal Essences, get one free.” Now, buy two. Pay $2.99 for two, get $1 back, and you’ve ultimately paid $1.99 for TWO bottles, or about $1 each!
If you’ve got the 2011 P&G Everyday Savings coupon book, there’s also a $1 coupon inside for any Aussie or Herbal Essences product. Use this on your first bottle… use the B1G1F on your second bottle… and ultimately, you’ll pay .99 for TWO, or about .50 each! A STEAL!
Renuzit Crystal Elements crystal air freshener (18oz.) is on sale for $3.99. Use the $3 coupon from 3/13 RP and pay .99!
But why stop there? Renuzit Cone Air Fresheners are a steal this week too. They’re on sale for .79 each, limit 6, with the store coupon in this week’s Wags ad. Clip the “Buy 3, get 3 FREE” coupon from 3/13 RP, buy 6 and pay $2.37 for 6, or about .40 each!

– $1 off – 2011 P&G Everyday Savings coupon book
– .50 – 2/27 PG

– .50 off 2 – 2/27 PG
– Buy ANY Vicks products, get any Puffs tissue FREE – 2/27 PG
__________________________
Scenario ideas:
A “Stock up on Paper” deal:
Buy 1 Bounty 12-roll pack ($13)
Buy 1 Charmin 16-roll packs ($10)
Buy 2 boxes Puffs tissue [make sure one is Puffs With Vicks] ($3)
Pre-coupon total: $26
Use $1 Bounty coupon, $1 Charmin coupon, and “Buy ANY Vicks product, get Puffs free” coupon. (The Puffs with Vicks IS a “Vicks product!” With it, your second box of Puffs will be free.)
After coupons, pay $22.50 and get $10 back – ultimately, $15.50 for all. Think of it as $7.75 for both big packs, plus “free” Puffs!
Note: You can do the same deal with two Charmin and four Puffs too, if you’ve got two of the B1G1F Vicks/Puffs coupons from 2/27 PG. The cost will be the same, if you prefer a TP-only stockup. Ditto an all-Duracell deal – 2 Duracell, 4 Puffs.
CVS is running a DIFFERENT “Spend $25, Get $10 in ECBs” deal on baby items. Here are your products and matchups:
Advil (ad smartly specifies that this is “FOR MOM!”) or Children’s Advil (40-50ct., 16-20ct., 4oz or .5 oz.) – $4.50
– $1 off – 1/30 RP1
CVS Baby Care baby wipes, shampoo, lotion, bath wash, powder, oil, detangler or travel kits – $2.50
Enfamil formula (22.2-25.7oz.) – $22
– If you’re on Enfamil’s mailing list, see if you have any dollars-off checks to use.
Gerber baby cereal or baby juice 4-packs – $2.50
– Check home mailers from Gerber for possible coupons
Lansinoh nursing pads, breastmilk storage bags or lanolin – $9
Pampers big boxes, Baby Dry, Swaddlers or Cruisers diapers – $20
– $2 off – 2/27 PG
– $1 off – 2011 P&G Everyday Savings coupon book
Pampers Natural Stages drinking cups, pacifiers or bottles – $5
_____________________
Scenario ideas:
There aren’t a lot of coupons out for any of this stuff. I’d go for the diapers or the formula here as the ECB is a good way to knock the price of those expensive items down.
If you’ve got any Gerber coupons (direct-mailed from being on their mailing list,) see if you can work them into the deal. One box of Pampers, plus two Gerber cereal/juices puts you at $25. Use the $2 Pampers coupon from 2/27 PG. Any other coupons you’ve got will knock this down more – pay $23 or less and get $10 back, ultimately knocking the big box of Pampers to $13, plus “free” Gerber.
Or, do the same deal with some CVS baby products, like wipes. Pampers plus two tubs of wipes will again put you at $25 – use $2 Pampers coupon, pay $23 and get $10 back.
_____________________
For the Enfamil, the best thing to use to get you just over the $25 mark is the Advil. One Enfamil and one Advil puts you at $26.50. Use the $1 Advil coupon to go to $25.50, plus any Enfamil checks you have. Pay $25.50 or less and get $10 back, knocking the formula to $15.50, with “free” Advil.
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
Gold Emblem spice shakers are .88 each.
Just The Basics paper towels are .50 per roll.
CVS Tip: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the Coupon Center scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you!

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
Policies to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart. Several readers have written to say that they are also now successfully using Walgreens Register Rewards at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.” I have heard from one reader who used a $3 Register Reward on a $2.49 copy of All You magazine and DID receive change, in cash.
These changes to Walmart’s coupon policy are nothing short of impressive. I would print a copy and carry it with you if you anticipate any issues.
What does this mean for coupon shoppers?
Well, probably 80% of the advertised deals I write about that involve store coupons can now be done at Walmart too if you’re willing to bring the competitors’ ads and coupons with you. The exception, of course, is anything involving a Catalina. For example, you could not do the current Dominick’s Betty Crocker fruit snack deal at Walmart. While they would match the .99 price per box, you would not receive a fruit snack Catalina BACK from the register at the end.
Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?
I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
However, if there IS an ad with noteworthy sales or I’m aware of great coupon matchups, you’ll find those here too:

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Anyone have problems with the Kerrygold q? I feel like every time there is a PDF I have problems. This one also says “redeemable at face value” where you would normally see manu q, etc. Just makes me a little leary.

Noticed the wording on the Jewel sale for the cereals didn’t include Strawberry but it looks like it is pictured in the ad? If anyone finds out if it is included, please let us know…and also the Raisin Medley.

as couldn’t find it on coupon.com link. However, when I bought the Irish Spring Body Wash yesterday, a $1 Wag Q printed out for a $1 off the deodorant.

I have found at 4 walgreens stores on Sunday that no one would honor the BIGIF on the deodorant deal. They said I had to buy 1 and get 3 free. I talked to 4 managers and they block there registers he said so that they won’t except any BIGIF coupons so that the clerk must inform you that you have to pay for one and get 3 free. IS THERE ANY WALGREENS AROUND THAT DOES NOT DO THIS SO WE CAN GET THAT BIGIF DEAL? Please help I am in the Joliet area and will travel!!!

I recently opened a couple goldfish bags I had in my storage closet (bought in the past few months) and found a pepperidge farm coupon booklet inside that says “save up to $2.50”. One of the coupons is for .35 off a bag of goldfish. I am assuming we can stack that with the Meyer’s coupons to make the price for goldfish even cheaper!
angdicicco says
My husband picked up some things at Jewel for me yesterday. He came home with four vareities of the Honey Bunches Post cereal including the strawberry and raisin medley. I asked him to check the receipt to make sure they rang up as $1.69. He checked and said they all rang up at the discounted price of $1.69. I plan to go back today to use my $1 off coupons for raisin medley, if there are any boxes left.

I don’t shop at Meijer often, so I wondering if I can use my P$G catalina from Jewel last week at Meijer. Do they accept manufacture coupons with other store logos on them? Thanks!

Does anyone know which Walmart carries Maruchan Yakisoba noodles? I checked, but mine doesn’t. Thanks!

OOPS! Meant to post this below as a response to ScapbookTina’s post (not sure how to move it to the correct area).
Just this weekend, I did the Right Guard deal at 2 different Joliet Walgreen’s. The store at Jefferson and Hammes and the store at Jefferson and Reed. I never have a problem with B1G1 sales with B1G1 coupons in the Joliet area at these stores. The only problem with the Right Guard body wash is that it is $4.99 and the coupon limit is up to $4.49. The nice thing was, since that was the limit, the clerk peeled one of the peelies for $1 off and used that as well (which helped pay the tax). I told her that I didn’t think it would work, but she said, “oh, I think it will” and she was right–it worked with no beeps (you need to have something to absorb the overage though, or it will beep). So, not only were they not forbidding the use of the B1G1 MQs with this sale, they were actually trying to help me save even more :)
Grandma D says
I just got back from Dominicks, they would not allow me to use the $1.00 off 2 coupon for kraft cheese when I purchased 2, they said because one is free they would not allow it! Is that correct???

Does anyone know where to find info on the P&G 2011 Home Mailer? I know from last year that you had to send in a receipt for a certain amount of P&G products–is there a link that has more info? Thanks!!
Lynn Simmons says
The Kraft cheese link is printing a $1/2 Q now. And if any of you bought the pizza puffs a while back, look on the box for a $1/2 coupon on fruit snacks. It expires 3/31/11.

If you have the 2011 P&G Everyday Savings coupon book, there is a $3.00 off Swiffer Wetjet. I brought this along last week when I did the Swiffer deal at Target (along with all the other coupons Jill lists) and paid a total of 5.99 for my starter kit and refill!

Has anyone tried to purchase the Crest Whitestrips at Dominick’s? Dominick’s has $10 off coupon to load to the card and there is also a $10 off coupon from the latest PG insert. Is it possible to get the product for $20 off??
pam and family says
okay… so from what I understand Dominick’s (at least the Shorewood and Joliet stores)state that they WILL take expired coupons that don’t beep. What I am wondering is: in general, how long do you have after a coupon expires that it will still scan? Or is it just totally random and per manufacturer? I tried a DiGiorno coupon last week at Dominick’s that expired Dec 31st and that was definitely a no go. (Luckily, there was a Q in the new frozen food book, so I thought I would just try the expired and see what happened since I had the back-up Q.)
What is the furthest expired that anyone has used recently?

Jill, did the barcode show on the screen prior to printing?

I found some interesting coupons while I was at Jewel. 24-pack Coke products are on sale for $6.99 which is okay – not great – but I found two different tear pad coupons – one was on an endcap and was for a free (not even shipping/handling) NCAA t-shirt of the team of your choice with the purchase of two 24-pack Coke products. The other, on a display of the mini/skinny Coke cans – was for $1.50 off any Snyder’s pretzel product with the purchase of any two Coke products.
Also – my Jewel (Morris) has Carefree pantyliners on clearance – 72 pack – for .78-cents – the 1/9 S2 has a 50-cents off 1 coupon, but I used mine already – these were still a great deal. There was a smaller package on clearance for .91-cents – go figure that one out!
My Avenu also had a coupon loaded for .75-cents off Jewel yogurt tubes and they are already on sale for 2.39.
I also was able to get a raincheck for my Honey Bunches of Oats – all the raisin variety were gone.
Thanks for all the work, Jill!

I had the Kraft shredded cheese locked in at $1.90 so I got 10 bags of shredded for $9.50. I had already printed and used $1 Q from link and the “Game Day Book” Kraft Q is for chunk (I saw no Kraft chunk cheese at Palatine Dominick’s) But 95 cents per bag I am happy with. It is refreshing when the “just For U” actually works out:)

I went to 3 Walgreen stores. The 1st 2 stores would not let me use the coupon at all. Spoke to the managers and they said you cannot use a BOGO on an item that is on sale for BOGO. I went to the third store and they said I could use half of the coupon. So they took 2.50 off the 1st item. I guess they just make this stuff up as they go. They all seemed to have a hard time wrapping their mind around getting 2 items for free. I will try a few more to see if they will work. Maybe the next one will give me 75% of the value. I found some of the Right Guard gel 4oz ones came with a free trial size body wash. So all in all still a pretty good deal.

I just got my 1/4 lb at Jewel this morning, the cashier did look on her list to be sure the Q was ok and then keyed it by hand since it wouldn’t scan at the self-serv register.

Is the Game Day booklet currently available at Dominicks?

Has anyone tried the deal buying the 3pks of Jello Temptations, the super q definitely states it is for 6pks.

Has anyone tried the Pierogi deal at the Tinley park (Or maybe it’s Orland) Meijer store?
Just wanted to see if it is working there. I’ve only been in there once.. what a dark, dreary place for a “new” store, but I would stop by again if this is working!
Thanks!

Buy 4 boxes of post cereal and get one free box of fruity pebbles treats. The total is 4 for $8.00. Use a $1.00 off on the fruity pebbles treats and you will get a $3.00 catalina back. So your total would be $4.00 dollars. I fell that this is a good deal!
When I checked out I got a $2.00 Maufactor coupon for the fruity pebbles cereal and I did the deal again and used a $1.00 off of the cereal treats, $2.00 maufactor coupon and plus I got another $3.00 catalina back. The total was $2.00 and I got 4 boxes of fruity pebbles cereal and a box of fruity pebbles treats.! Love it!!!

Just an FYI-the note about the Renuzit cones in here says the coupon for .79 is limit 6. At our Walgreens stores in my area in Illinois, the limit is 3. Maybe this varies from place to place? So I used the coupon for buy 2, get 1 free instead. Still a good deal!

At my wags, in Worth, it rang up as $4.99 b1g1 free, they did take the b1g1 q but it was only worth up to $4.49 so .50 for 2.
akrickhahn says
sometimes they give me problems at walgreens too, just print and carry their coupon policy. it clearly states you get both free if it is on sale b1g1 and you have a b1g1 coupon. maybe try calling corporate and telling them what is going on. they might be able to talk to the managers and get the situation fixed.
ghostmom01 says
Somewhere I ended up with a B1G1 with the refills too. I think I know the answer to this but I want to be sure before I waltz into the store.
Can I stack the buy one Swiffer starter, get one refill FREE and use the buy one refill on the free refill to get a 2nd refill free?
So, it would be
Swiffer WetJet @ $18.99
Less the $5 Target Q
Less the $5 Manu Q
Swiffer Refill #1
FREE with B1 Starter, G1 Refill
Swiffer Refill #2
FREE with B1 Refill, G1 Refill
So it would be $8.99 for a WetJet and two refills.
I’m pretty sure this is OK but I thought I’d better double check.

I saw an advert in the 3/13 RP for Buy 2 or More Gain laundry detergents or fabric softeners and get $3 off your next shopping trip. I don’t know the price on the boxes of softener sheets, but I would think it would probably be a good buy with the $3/1 coupons. Anyone know anything more about this?

Tried to print the pierogi coupons but the 3rd print listed is exactly the same web page as the second one listed….anyone else have this problem?

Just wanted to let you know when you contact corporate it goes right to the store manager. So to save your time you may just want to talk to the store manager directly. Why wait two days for the message to get to them.

Yesterday I was able to get paid for the Right Guard body wash twice, get 2 lotions at .99, buy 4 toothbrushes and get paid 4 cents for them,….
The problem is I am out of space and money :) My husband did make a shelf in the laundry room for the cereal I have bought, I just need a few more shelves made now.
LaughingGift says
Yes, these are also $1.69 at Jewel this week. So, $.69 after coupon.
I have become accustomed to $.25 cereal, but I am down to my last box and we haven’t had a good cereal deal in awhile. :-)

Look for $1 off peelies on the Right Guard Body Wash at Walgreens.

I went to the Walgreens in Frankfort on 45 and 30 had absolutely no problem using the coupons on Sunday night. The ladies that work in the beauty department at that store are fantastic!!!!!! They help the customers with coupons so much to the point that I was looking for a coupon and they gave me one!?! Since I got the deodorants no problem, I decided to go back last night because I had 3 more coupons. This time I went to the Walgreens in Frankfort, but on Harlem and 30 (I was closer to this store at hte time). The cashier gave me a little bit of a hard time, but after I explained it to her, she was ok with it. She said,”I am going to have to check on this, it just doesn’t seem right that you get all this for free.” I told her I that I promise the store will get their money and that was why I love coupons.

Jill, just asking… Have you thought about blogging Ultra Foods (Strack & Van ?) or are they not all over Chicagoland? They have some awesome sales each week and are connected to catalina. This week $.99 Dean Dips w/$1.00 cat back – I bought 4; $.98 Orchard Apple Juice, 1.50 GM Cereals w/$2.00 cat back – I bought 4; $1.00 BC Fruit Snacks w/$2.00 cat back -I bought 4; $.98 Centrella Cheese, $.69 Open Pit BBQ (I needed it, ran out of last summers free stuff at Christmas). Of course I used coupons on everything, even the juice which made the 64 oz. bottles $.48! So awesome!!! I made out and am going back today for more… And, by the way, THANK YOU SO MUCH JILL!!! The money I have saved since taking your class this time last year is breathtaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jmdetz says
The checker at Jewel would not take 2 of the $5 Q’s from the last Catalina – he said that was doubling and the Q says no doubling. I was rushing and didn’t have time to debate. Is he right?

OK – so this is by far the best deal I have ever done…. I went to CVS and bought
2 puffs with Vicks on sale for 1.50 each

Never knew you could do this; how great, there have been times (very seldom) when I forget some coupons and I either don’t buy the products I had planned or just pay the price.
couponqueen6886 says
In the Dominicks deals, you say that one can get 2 Swiffer refills for $3.50 each , it actually should be $4, since 1 is on sale with the Super Coupon for 7.99 and there are B1G1 coupons.
CVS also has Swiffer refills on sale for $7.49, and by using the B1G1 coupon, the refills come to 3.75 each. So an even better deal!

Sorry if this has already been posted, if it was I didn’t see it…
The Pretzel crisp FB page has BOGO free coupon. Jewel is running BOGO free sale (ends today). So get 2 pretzel crisps free. But wait it gets better… there is a tear off pad coupon for buy 2 pretzel crisps get a tribe hummus for free! But wait.. it gets better… the hummus is on sale buy one get one free. So yes, use the pretzel crisp coupon and the tear off coupon (which is near the pretzel crisps) and get 2 pretzel crisps and 2 tribe hummus free :) I paid 13 cents tax.
I did this at the naperville jewel and my sister did it at her jewel in plainfield.
The only snag was the very rude manager at jewel that initially said my internet coupon was fake. I pointed out the exiration date, serial number, bar code, legal paragraph and asked him why he thought it was fake. he told the cashier to go ahead and take it, however, he said it in a tone as if he was doing me a huge favor.
