Ready for another week of great deals? My apologies for the lateness of the deals being posted today (for the record, this is the first week I’ve posted deals late, ever, since the blog’s inception in July, 2008. Even coupon queens get sick too..!) I appreciate all the readers who took the time to send and post deals of their own, as many of these great deals made it into my “Deals of the Week” this week too. Thanks for all your help!
A big welcome to our new Super-Couponers from this past week’s classes in Warrenville, Antioch and Glenview, and of course the many listeners from Johnny B’s show as well…
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. Unless otherwise noted, grocery store deals run through Wednesday of this week, and the pharmacy deals run through Saturday.
Over at Jewel, there’s a good deal going on Kellogg’s cereal (and other Kellogg’s products as well…) Buy 10, and save $10 instantly! Many Kellogg’s cereals are on sale for $2.50 a box, including…
Apple Jacks
Cocoa Krispies
Corn Pops
Frosted Flakes
Frosted Mini Wheats
Fruit Loops
Honey Smacks
Raisin Bran
Raisin Bran Crunch
Rice Krispies
So, if you buy 10 boxes, $10 will come off instantly, making these $1.50 a box! Let’s add coupons:
$1 off 2 Frosted Flakes (print 2)
$1 off 2 Frosted Flakes (print 2)
.70 off any Kellogg’s cereal – 2/22 RP
$1 off participating Kellogg’s cereal, including Raisin Bran Crunch – 2/22 RP
If you buy 8 boxes of Frosted Flakes, 1 Raisin Bran Crunch, and any other participating variety, with the coupons above, you will save an additional $5.70 – you’ll spend $9.30 on 10 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal! That’s under $1 a box!
Now, some stores have tearpad coupons for buy 2 boxes Kellogg’s cereal, get a free dozen of eggs too! If yours does, you’ll also get some free eggs with this deal :)
I’ve also gotten lots of email about the Kellogg’s / free milk promotion that’s coming up:
Starting 3/20, purchase Kellogg cereals 12 oz or larger 3/20-4/12/09
Buy 3 boxes get 1 free gallon of milk
buy 5 boxes get 2 free gallons of milk
buy 7 or more get 3 free gallons of milk
If you can wait to buy your cereal until Friday, this will make it even better, as you’ll get 3 gallons of free milk with it too! This is one of those rare weeks where it’s worth waiting to shop this sale…
Still at Jewel, if you need charcoal for your grill, there’s a great deal on charcoal and meats (just in time for the Spring warm-up we’re heading into! I know I can’t wait to start grilling outdoors again…) Print 2 of these coupons for $6 off Pork when you buy Kingsford charcoal and one other participating product listed on the coupon. Then…
Purchase 2 bags of Kingsford Charcoal
Purchase 2 Hormel Pork Tenderloins. They’re on sale for $10.99 B1G1F – so after two $6 coupons, they’ll be FREE with overage toward your other items.
Purchase 2 packs of Wet Ones (small packs are on sale $1 each and this will qualify as one other “participating product” for your coupon.)
After buying your 2 bags of Kingsford (prices vary by store, so check yours to see the actual price) you’ll get 2 Hormel pork tenderloins, and 2 packs of Wet Ones… for $0.99!
Still at Jewel, NutriPals toddler nutrition bars are on clearance at many stores for under $2 a box. Use the $2 coupon from 1/11 SS and pick these up for FREE! (Note: This coupon states that it is good for $2 off any 6-pack Pediasure product. While it shows beverages on the coupon, Nutripals are also a Pediasure product :)
The Kraft deal continues this week at Jewel… just as last week, CapriSun drink pouches are a good deal with this. Buy 9 at $2 a box ($18) and get a $10 Catalina back… this will bring them to less than $1 a box! :)
Here’s the Catalina alert for the deal which contains a listing of ALL the products you can work into the deal. For those of you that have been with my blog for awhile now, you know the way these work… the deal is spend $25, get $10 back in Catalinas. But the deal actually works on the non-Preferred price of the item. So as long as your regular prices go over $25, you can mix and match any of these items to get your Catalina! :)
Over at SuperTarget, Mott’s Applesauce is dirt cheap! 6-packs of applesauce cups are $1.64 each. Print 2 of these .55 manufacturer coupons for the Mott’s, and stack them with this $1 Target store coupon for the Mott’s. You’ll take these home for .09 each! (Note: If your Target will not let you use 2 Target coupons in the same transaction, you may need to separate your purchases into 2 transactions.)
At Target, they’ve got a good deal going on Quaker Oatmeal products. Buy 5, get a $5 Target gift card back. Of course, we can use coupons on these too, and we WILL!
The coupons you can use with the deal are:

$1 off 2 Quaker Instant Oatmeal – 2/4 RP

These are the coupons on the inside:
$1 off 1 Oatmeal Squares
$1 off 1 Quaker Life Maple Brown Sugar Cereal
$1 off 2 Instant Oatmeal

Do you have to buy one of each product to get the RR or can you buy 3 Listerine or 3 toothbrushes or any combination?

You are supposed to be resting! Tsk tsk tsk. If you are feeling better, then I’m glad. Loved the 2 pieces on CBS and I can’t wait for the 28th. I was just talking to my brother in Michigan while I was at Jewel picking up my charcoal, pork & wipes, :-) and he’s ready to write you a check for the DVD. He even has his neighbors waiting for it! Get well, stay well, and take care of yourself. Here’s to rapid deal getting tomorrow. The stores have probably been wondering where we’ve been – teehee.

Nice to see you up and typing! :) Thanks for the great deals this week! Hope you are well on your way to feeling better!

Twice I went to Walgreens and bought 3 listerine mouthwashes. The clerk called the manager over the first time and he ok’d it. The next day I did it again and she hesitated, but completed the transaction. The manager said as long as the coupon doesn’t beep, it’s fine!!
kdawg says
Does anyone know of a store that sells the Marcal brand by the roll? The smallest I have seen is the 4 pack at Jewel and the coupon states single roll (1000 sheet count).
jtlt10 says
Dove also has a special going on where if you spend $15, you will receive a $5 Cat for your next order. Most Dove soaps are on sale for 5.50 and if you add a 1.50 coupon, it’ll bring it down to $4 per soap.
Please note that you can only do this once per day per Jewel card. I tried it twice today and it didn’t go through the second time, so I returned them.
I also got in trouble from the Self-Checkout lady because she said I can only use 1 internet coupon per order. :(

In 3/15 SS coupons there is a coupon for a free pack of Wrigley’s chewing gum up to $1.19. They have Wrigley’s chewing gum packs for $1.19, so all you have to pay is the sales tax.
newbie2couponing says
The ECB offer is over-it was through Tuesday only.

I am totally confused ! How are you buying to char cioal @$8 each and 2 pkg. pork @$10.99 and 2 wipes for 99 cents each . And getting them all for 99 cents . You have 2 $6 off and maybe 2 $1 but still I am missing something . Even blue demon paid $13 . Please explain
Glad you are feeling better

I have been printing a TON of those $6 off pork q’s – I was not limited on the site. Am I in trouble?? Ha, ha. Is there a code I can check to make sure Jewel gets reimbursed for all of them?
P.S. I used my $2 off q for Nutripals already but there’s another in the recent paper . . . I think it’s $1 and I can’t remember if SS or RP, but I know it was this last Sunday . . .

I went to the Wags in Bloomingdale today and couldn’t find the Beauty Bars that are supposed to be $1.19. I looked in the bath soap section and the face care area. Anyone know where these are in the store? Thanks.
coupon user says
I found them right next to all the other 4 pack, 8 pack Dove Bars. The space was quite small (they were single spaced). They are in blue and white packaging. After I went to one Wag and they were out, The nice guy at counter offered to call another store for me and they put them on hold for me!!!! I picked them up later that day. It was great!!!!

When does this deal end? Won’t the buy 10 save $10 instantly end on Wednesday and the new deal for the free milk start on the 20th?

I went to the Target on Addison near Sacramento in Chicago. I bought a small sized Cheetos (1.29 < no $0.99 available). The target store coupon was not accepted in the scanner. A supervisor came over and said that it was not valid for the small size, only the large size. When I protested, I was told that if the computer doesn't accept it, then it's not valid. I had my three year old with me, so I didn't have the patience to run it up to the manager. Instead, I just had them take it out.

Is it strange that i just did a “jig” in my living room b/c I received my FREE Dr. Pepper coupon in the mail today? You just can’t get better than FREE! Thank you again JILL!!!

I’m having trouble printing the ge light bulb coupon. Is anyone else having the same problem. The first screen shows the offer but when I click on it the second screen shows (0) coupons. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong??
Theresa1097 says
She said you pay $6. out of pocket. That’s not how I’m reading it. You PAY $9. out of pocket, becuase it’s 3 for $3. each, then you get a cat for $6. off your next purchase, AND you use the $3. coupon, so it’s all free But I wanted to confirm that it’s $9. up front, correct! :)

At my Jewel in Woodstock, they were out of charcoal. I’m waiting for tomorrow for that. I was also wondering, is it any pork? Hormel at my Jewel is not B1G1F, but another brand is for $6.49 a lb. Anyone else see this? Thanks!

I did all three of these deals and my total, PRE-coupon, PRE-catalina printouts worth 18 dollars from the previous week, was 144.87 and once I turned in all of my coupons I had literally a cut my bill in half. I ended up paying only 86.77 on my total bill! I was really happy with my purchases and my total savings were 88.89. The lady in line behind me was shocked and said “I have only seen people do that on t.v.!” Although it was more than I was comfortable spending normally, it would have been less if my hubby had been willing to let me buy him disposable razors like my own. Instead I had to buy the expensive 20 dollar set of replacement blades for his fancy razor! Oh well, If not I would have been right where I was comfortable spending. All in all I feel I got a great deal on all the things needed for this week! Thank you so mush Jill for all the time that you put in for all of us!
Lex says
I tried to purchase 9 capri sun drink pouches and the catalina did not print. I was rudely told by the manager that the $25 has to be after the preferred card savings. Is this a new policy or should I try a Jewel in a different town? This Jewel was in Arlington Heights.

Hi all, I’ve been to five Jewel stores today (Melrose Park, River Forest, two in Oak Park and Brickyard Chicago) to look for the “buy 2 Kelloggs cereal get a dozen eggs free” coupons. I couldn’t find them with the cereal or eggs. I also asked every customer service desk– no coupon. Could be a “district promotion” said one CS associate and that’s why I can’t find it. Does anyone know of a store that has these coupons? Thanks!
p.s. I even checked the River Forest Dominicks– no such luck there either.
tiffanycoil says
I was told that Frosted Mini Wheats are not part of the 10/15 deal when I called my Jewel to check their stock. Has anyone bought this cereal and had it work?
Jill, where did you get the list of cereal included in this deal? Thanks!

To anyone who loves Quaker Granola Bars the deal at Target gets even better. By going to Quakers web site http://www.quakeroats.com and clicking on “NEW PRODUCTS” at the bottom of the page you can print out $1 off coupons for True Delight Granola Bars. Just click where it says “LEARN MORE”, than scroll to the bottom of the next page and click “GET YOUR $1 OFF COUPON TODAY”. There’s no limit so if you simply keep hitting the back button you can print 5 coupons. Use them at Target to buy 5 boxes and spend +/- $7.67 and get a $5 gift card back. It’s like paying about $0.53 a box. AWESOME DEAL!!! Enjoy your Granola Bars.
Bears1fan says
I was wondering if there was a certain size box of frosted flakes you needed to buy for the 10/15 deal? and, is it still going on, even with the free milk deal?
When I went on wed. they had bigger boxes, bogo free, but wasn’t sure if those were included in this deal…I am very confused, but love all these deals you post…thank you!
engelmary says
Just went for the cereal/milk deal. MAKE SURE you choose the 12 once or larger boxes. I ended up not getting this right, didn’t get the 10 off and only one gallon of milk :(
Found a great associate at jewel, she returned all, explained to me that it had to be the larger size, re-ran the deal and got 10 bucks off, plus 3 more free gallons of milk. She let me even keep the initial gallon I had gotten for my “trouble”. I can’t say enough about the downtown Arlington Heights Jewel.
iheartfreebies says
I don’t know if anyone knew, but there are other coupons for the listerine that can add up to the $3 off 3 coupon used, so I just got the listerine deal twice and got 2 $6 rewards!
So, I took the $3 off 3 coupon on the one transaction.
2nd transaction, I used these for the same deal!
$1.50 off 2 coupon in the same insert
03-15 SS $.50 off floss or toothbrush
02-08 RP $1 off mouthwash
I’m a little late shopping this week, so sorry if this has been noted already!
newbie2couponing says
Sorry if someone else posted this already and sorry this is so late!!–if you have the April All You (just got mine the other day), use that FREE Rimmel coupon at Wags—Rimmel products are B1G1 Free. The coupon is only valued up to $6.47, so you’ll pay about $1 for 2 of them–still a great value! The coupon does have a Walmart logo on it but it is a manufacturer coupon–had no troubles using it. Also while you’re there, pick up Bic Soleil refill cartridges, on clearance (hopefully for you) for $3.59–there was a $2 coupon in Sunday’s inserts (or inside of your razor packages) & there’s a $2 ES coupon! Potentially giving you .41 overage! Picked up these items today for $1.72 ($1.11 was tax)!

Smartsource has $1/2 coupons for the chewy granola bars…print 2
luvelyhazeleyes says
$3 each – Grab 7 boxes. $2 printables available on site for 5 & 6ct boxes. Additionally, the 5ct. are back on the Avenue coupons so check that before you shop. Discount limit is 2 @ $1.50. So $21 minus $14 in $2 coupons and $3 in Avenue -> $4 OOP and get back $10 Cat.
I also did the cheese deal….again. I bought 6 Kraft string cheese. Used 6 $.75/1 blinkies. Brings you to $13.50. I used the $10 & the $3 Cats I had and paid $.91 OOP and got another $10 & $3 back.
Also, the Palmero’s pizza is BOGO this week @ $.759 or $8.39(in my store). Use the $2/1 internet coupon to get them for $1.78 to $2.19.
Another good one I saw was the Kraft dressing. Get 7 @ $2.50 each – $17.50. Use three $1/2 coupons – $14.50. If you have the $10 Cat would be $4.50 for 7 or $.64 each. If you have the $10 and $3 will be $1.50 for 7 or $.21 each and still get another $10 Cat back.

I just went again to Jewel and Mini Wheats did not work- for those of you who bought the mini wheats and they worked- what size box did you get? Maybe they don’t have the right size at my store (Park Ridge, IL)
mom of munchkins says
i’m wondering if different Jewel’s have different pricing. i went to day to get some & a bunch of the one’s that Jill listed (mini wheats, frosted flakes, rice krispies, & a few others) were not on sale and did not qualify for the 10/$15… i was REALLY confused! i am going to check later tonight at a different nearby Jewel when i don’t have my kids with me.

I just accidentally noticed on the box of Oatmeal-to-Go squares I got as part of the Target deal the expiration was March 17 2009 – they will go back for an exchange. Just an FYI – I think many deals are set up to move products before they expire . . . I think I bought them AFTER March 17, now I am not positive . . .
mamagatz says
I am creating a new comment b/c in this week’s deals Jill mentions the Nutripals at Jewel.
My Wags had one box left tonight clearancing at $2.69 but I wanted everyone to know you can use Pediasure or Nutripals q’s like Jill mentioned, or PEDIALYTE as well. I had a q for Pedialyte for $2 off and it worked no problem – box was 69 cents! Same company, I think it’s called Abbott. I have 1 q left so I will head to another Wags tomorrow.
I’d like to add they were darn near cleared out of Stride gum, found some near the registers, so look hard.
