(You may be able to print another $5-$10 worth of Kellogg’s coupons at this link. Note that this second link is a limited-access offer with a daily cap, so if the offer hits its daily print limit, it is pulled by Kellogg’s until the next day.)
Jewel is running a “Buy 4, Save $4 instantly” on Axe and Suave products. The only thing I saw here that was even semi-cheap were the Suave Men Deodorants. They’re on sale for $2.29. Buy 4, save $4 and pay $1.29 a deodorant. I would only take advantage of this if you are completely out of deodorant, as we’ll see deodorant deals that are better than this.

If you are a “Black Belt” coupon shopper, you may like these Black Belt Scenarios for the P&G $20/$5. New couponers may be tempted to jump in and try playing the price spread in the “Black Belt” way to take home much for little. (It IS hard to resist taking so much home for so little!) If you choose to, PLEASE, please read and abide by all of the warnings I’ve posted on the following page. If you are willing to assume ALL risks, head on over…

Jewel-Osco information:
Jewel-Osco has a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there (and they answer promptly!)
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too.
Coupon books currently found at Jewel:
Value Your Heart – $35 worth of coupons, including one for a free 8-pack of Coke when you buy 3 12-packs
Jewel meat deals:
- Chicken drumsticks or thighs are $1.49/lb.
- Reuben Corned Beef is $1.69/lb.
- Hormel Always Tender pork country style ribs are $1.99/lb.
- Hormel Always Tender assorted pork chops are $1.99/lb.
Always a deal: Jewel-Osco has 1lb. chub packs of Carolina Ground Turkey in the freezer case for around $1.69, every day, at most locations.
Jewel produce deals:
- Sweet potatoes are .79/lb.
- Green beans are .99/lb.
- White onions are $1.29/lb.
- Red seedless grapes are $1.49/lb.
- Anjou or Bosc pears are $1.49/lb.
- Jazz and Pacific Rose apples are $1.79/lb.
- Mangos are .58 each, limit 9 – GREAT PRICE!
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Let’s go to Dominick’s (View weekly ad)…
Note to Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Also, in Chicago, previously-available ecoupons (Cellfire, ShortCuts and PGEsaver) have been discontinued. Ecoupons are now available in the “Just For U” section of electronic coupons available at Dominicks.com.
Dominick’s Super Coupons:
These are store coupons found in the weekly Dominick’s flyer, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. Dominick’s has some new Just For U ecoupons that are quite good this week. Head to www.dominicks.com to load an ecoupon for Safeway Sweet Potato Fries (20-32oz.) for $1.49. Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Dominick’s is running a frozen food sale again – $5 off ANY* $15 Frozen Food Purchase with the coupon in this week’s Dominick’s flyer! Buy $15 worth of ANY* FROZEN ITEMS, Save $5 Note that this is a COUPON instant-savings deal — you will need the $5-off-$15 frozen coupon from the current 2/27 Dominick’s ad. *** And about that word “ANY”… this time around, the coupon states “Frozen Meat & Seafood Items Excluded,” so it’s actually not a deal on ANY frozen foods. (The last time we saw this sale in November, all frozen was included, which netted some great deals on frozen shrimp.) It’s difficult to say what frozen meat items would not be included — from the ad, Stouffer’s Meat Lasagna is in the deal, but it looks like frozen chicken strips or nuggets would likely not be. Deal ideas: 3/7 UPDATE: MEAL DEAL IDEA! If you have the new Dominick’s $42 frozen food coupon book, take a look at the first coupon right inside the cover. It’s offering a $9.99 Meal Deal that includes: 1 Safeway Select Appetizer (8oz.) If you do this deal, you’re already very close to the $10 mark. Throw in just over $5 of ANY other frozen foods, use the $5 off $15 Frozen Food coupon and pay around $10. This is a good price for the deal, as the lasagnas alone usually sell for $7.99-$8.99. The lasagna also is going to give you the most ounces of food for your bucks. California Pizza Kitchen pizzas are $5.49 each. Buy 3 ($16.47.) Use three $1 coupons (new $42 Dominick’s Frozen coupon book) plus the $5 frozen coupon. Pay $8.47 for 3 pizzas… and get a $1.25 Catalina back for every pizza you bought! With $3.75 coming back to you, you’re ultimately paying $4.72 for three, or about $1.57 a pizza! UPDATED 3/7: Another way to do the deal. Purchase six personal-size California Pizza Kitchen pizzas ($2.50 each.) Use the $5-off-$15 coupon. Pay $10 and get $7.50 back, making your six pizzas just $2.50 for ALL, or about .42 each! California Pizza Kitchen Catalina reportedly now running through 3/15/11. UPDATED 3/7 WITH NEW, LOWER WANCHAI PRICE: Wanchai Ferry frozen meal kits are $5.99 each. Buy two ($11.98) and, in keeping with the Chinese dinner theme, add a box of Safeway Mini Egg Rolls ($2.50) for a total of $14.48. If you’ve got the $1.49 Safeway Sweet Potato Fries ecoupon loaded to your Dominick’s Fresh Values card, toss that in too to get you over the $15 mark (now $15.97.) Use two $1.50 Wanchai coupons from the 3/6 SS or printables (there are $1 coupons in the 2/13 GM insert and the new $42 Dominick’s Frozen coupon book too) plus the $5 frozen coupon. Pay $7.97 for TWO meals, ($3.99 each!) PLUS a “free” box of egg rolls and “free” sweet potato fries! Jack’s Frozen Pizzas are $3 each. Buy 5 ($15.) Use the $1-off-3 coupon from the 1/30 RP2 insert plus the $5 frozen coupon. Pay $9 for 5 pizzas, or $1.80 each. (But really – during a sale in which the “expensive” California Pizza Kitchen costs less than good old, reliable Jack’s Pizza, why not “splurge…” Safeway frozen juice concentrates are $1.69 each. Buy 9 ($15.21.) After $5 coupon, pay $10.21, or $1.13 each. Note that prices of items not advertised in this week’s flyer were gathered at the Carpentersville Dominick’s. |

Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.

Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. most of Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the oter Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.

Off to Target
(View weekly ad)…
Here’s a crazy little Tide deal that you could do if you’re not buying Tide this week as part of the P&G Catalina at Jewel…
Target is running a deal this week on 75oz. liquid Tide and C9 running apparel (yes, this sounds a little strange, but keep reading.) The Tide is on sale for $9.99. You’ll get a $5 Target gift card back when you buy both the Tide and any C9 clothing item. Page 4 of this week’s Target ad has the clothes involved in the deal, but the least expensive item to work in are the $6 C9 Women’s cotton running shorts.
So, grab a pair of shorts and a 75oz. bottle of Tide — the kind with “Febreze Sport” shown in the ad. But don’t leave the laundry aisle yet, because you’ll also want to pick up a package of Tide Stain Release (10ct. Duo-Pacs, 20oz. liquid, 14oz. powder or the 21oz. pretreater.) It’s $3.99, but that doesn’t matter, because it’s going to be FREE with a coupon.
Ready to put the deal together?
Here are the coupons you’ll need:
– $1.50 off Tide + Febreze Sport detergent (Target Store Coupon) – 2/13 RP
– $1 off Tide (manufacturer coupon) – 2011 P&G Everyday Savings coupon book (or use the .35 coupon from 2/27 PG if you don’t have the book)
– Buy Tide, Get Tide Stain Release free – 2/27 PG
– BONUS that makes this deal even better if you can find it: Look on bottles of Tide for a hangtag for $2.50 off any C9 apparel when you buy Tide
So here’s the deal:
Tide: $9.99
Tide Stain Release: $3.99
Pair of C9 shorts: $6
Pre-coupon total: $19.98
Minus $1.50 Tide store coupon and $1 Tide manufacturer coupon ($17.48,) minus FREE Tide Stain Release coupon ($13.49,) minus $2.50 off C9 Apparel coupon ($10.99)
Pay $10.99 and get a $5 Target gift card back = $5.99 for EVERYTHING! This deal knocks the Tide down to a reasonable $5.99, plus FREE shorts and FREE Stain Release!
UPDATE: Check your Catalinas that you may have received at Target recently too! Reader Mjheinzer got a Catalina for $5 off C9 Apparel when you buy Tide. Using this instead of the hangtag, it will knock this down to an incredible $3.49 for all THREE items!
Here’s a decent diaper deal on Huggies Big Packs. They’re on sale for $19.99 a box. When you buy two, you’ll get a $5 Target gift card back.
Print the $2.50 off 48-or-larger Huggies store coupon AND the $2 off Huggies Snug & Dry diapers store coupon from Target.com.
The 2/27 SS insert has lots of Huggies manufacturer coupons too:
– $3.50 off Huggies Snug & Dry 60ct. or larger
– $2.50 off Huggies Pure and Natural
– $2 off Huggies Little Snugglers or Little Movers
– $2 off Huggies Snug & Dry
Let’s put the deal together.
So, buy two boxes of Huggies ($39.98 – ouch.) Make sure ONE box is a Snug & Dry Huggies.
Use the $2 off Snug & Dry Target Store coupon AND the $3.50 off Huggies Snug & Dry manufacturer coupon.
Use the $2.50 off 48ct. Huggies Target Store coupon and another Huggies manufacturer coupon of your choice.
For this example, I’ll use the $2.50 manufacturer coupon off Huggies Pure and Natural.
The post-coupon total is now $29.48. Pay $29.48 and get a $5 Target gift card back.
Now, you’re at $25.48 for TWO big boxes of diapers, or $12.24 each! That’s a nice drop in price for the big boxes.
Note: If you have multiple inserts, use another $3.50 Huggies manufacturer coupon for that second box and knock it to $23.48 for two, or $11.74 per box.
Reader Momof4 spotted a great deal on the Swiffer WetJet and its refill. The Swiffer WetJet is currently $18.99 at Target. As with the other great deals above, after a nice set of coupon stacks, it’s going to come way, way down…

The 2/27 PG has a $5 MANUFACTURER coupon for the Swiffer WetJet.
The 2/27 PG also has a coupon for “Buy Swiffer WetJet Starter Kit, get Refill Free”
Use these three coupons and pay $8.99 for the Swiffer WetJet AND its refill! Nice!

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
NEW THIS WEEK: Walmart is being added to my Deals of the Week writeup based on a revision to their corporate coupon policy that took place last week. I blogged about the new changes here if you’d like to read more.
In a nutshell, here’s what you need to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart. Several readers have written to say that they are also now successfully using Walgreens Register Rewards at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.” I have heard from one reader who used a $3 Register Reward on a $2.49 copy of All You magazine and DID receive change, in cash.
These changes to Walmart’s coupon policy are nothing short of impressive. I would print a copy and carry it with you if you anticipate any issues.
What does this mean for coupon shoppers?
Well, probably 80% of the advertised deals I write about that involve store coupons can now be done at Walmart too if you’re willing to bring the competitors’ ads and coupons with you. The exception, of course, is anything involving a Catalina. For example, you could not do the current Dominick’s Betty Crocker fruit snack deal at Walmart. While they would match the .99 price per box, you would not receive a fruit snack Catalina BACK from the register at the end.
Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?
I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
However, if there IS an ad with noteworthy sales or I’m aware of great coupon matchups, you’ll find those here too:

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

THANK YOU so much for posting early!

WOW! I got a $5 target catalina coupon a few weeks ago for the tide and c9 apparel. I almost threw it out since I didn’t think I’d ever buy them. Thanks for posting this, I missed it looking at the ad.

I was told that I could not use the coupon for the cream of wheat because it was considered a trial size and the coupon wasn’t good for a trial size. I decided it wasn’t worth my time to argue! The next Wags didn’t have a problem.

I just printed the Huggies coupons and I am not sure if this just happened for me but the second coupon you mention that is a $2 off Target coupon is actually a manufacturers coupon. The $2.50 is a Target one. I saw that CouponTom had it listed as Target too so maybe it hit the limit and the manufacturer was put in instead?

If anyone else got the Kellog’s coupon pamphlet (red and white with “Wake up to brighter choices” written on the front, they were handing them out at Target last weekend at the little tasting booths). It’s a good week to use them. The coupons are:
– buy 2 Kellog’s and or/Morning Star Farms items get $1 off 1 gallon milk or o.j.
– buy 2 Kellog’s and or/Morning Star Farms items get $1 off produce

Great to use with the Kellog’s cereal deals at Jewel. I used some last week on the Eggo deals at Dominick’s. Made it an extra super schweet dealeo!
There’s also a $1 printable coupon for Marie’s dressing that Rachel over at Mashup Mom had listed for the Dominick’s deal. https://www.maries.com/ (unless it hit it’s print limit?)
Happy Shopping Everyone and thanks for the list, Jill. Since I started reading your blog I love playing coupons!

So, this sweet potato fry coupon got me thinking… I have a pampers wipes $1 off JFU coupon, for example, with no limit listed, but “one time coupon”. What does that mean? If I buy 5 wipes in one transaction, will that come off five times? Or just one? A little confused.. Thanks!

Frugalista says
To the person who said Wags is not accepting it, they should accept it. The coupon does not have any size resriction on it. The coupon does beep no matter what size you try to use it on.
At the store I visited, it beeped, so the cashier looked at the package and said the coupon was not for that small size. I pointed out that there was no size restriction, so she got her manager, who got a larger package off the shelf to test whether the coupon would work for that. Since it beeped on that package too, and I would not back down, they went ahead and pushed it through for the $1 boxes.
Worth your time? Depends on how busy your day is, of course!

I just came across a Walgreens photo coupon online. They have a deal going of 30 4×6 pictures for $3! It comes to $.10 a picture which it awesome since it’s not the holidays! The code is 30Sunny…and if people want to take advantage of this over and over…just do separate orders. It’s running through Saturday, March 12th.

i did the fruit snack deal twice this morning at doms and both times no Cat printed. Is this deal over? I bought 6 boxes in both orders of the fruit snacks and nothing. CS told me someone else had asked the same question and that they had heard nothing about the Cat deal. Of course the shelves at the Geneva one were pretty much empty like they always r and this isn’t the first time my Cats haven’t printed there when doing the deal correctly. I always say I am done with doms, but this time I really am…just too frustrating.

I went to the Walgreens in Libertyville (south side of town), and they wouldn’t take these. The cashier called the Mgr over because he couldn’t figure out why they kept beeping. First, the Mgr told me I was only allowed to print 2 coupons so I shouldn’t be able to use all that I had there (I had 6. Never mind that there are actually 2 different Cream of Wheat coupons, and I can print from several computers). Then he told me since they beep, and they are internet coupons, he wasn’t going to take them. Rather than argue, I figured I would just try a different Walgreens. I was irritated anyway at this point because they were out of 5 of the 7 things I went there to buy. Because they wouldn’t take these coupons, I ended up buying only 1 of those 7 items. Lost sales there Walgreens! Anyway, I haven’t tried any other stores yet. Does anyone know which Walgreens in the Vernon Hills, Libertyville, Mundelein area will take these? Thanks!

I think its over. That tags all said 2/$4 last time I was there and I just went to get some more and it was up to $2.99 I think. My store doesn’t have a scanner so I don’t know if its still ringing up at $2, but the sign is gone.

Thought I would share…. coupons.com just put a new pediacare coupon up. $2/1 (click on the “health care” category). Should be able to use this with the store coupon to receive free or close to free Pediacare at Walgreens.
(Just read this on hip2save and verified it by going to coupons.com)

I had problems with the shrimp at my Jewel in St. Charles. It said they were on sale for $9.99 for 1lb., so when you buy the 2lb bag, it rung up like $20! It also said this on a sign near the shrimp. Has anyone else had this problem? I’d really like to get this shrimp, but there’s obviously no way I’m paying $15 for it!

Just got back from Jewel and on the bottom shelf under those fancy cheeses, were some Margharita Pepperoni slices 8 oz on sale for $1.99, and there is a tearpad for $1/2 packs. So I bought 2 or 1 lb for $3. I think that’s good for pepperoni.
Also, Lays potato chips is $3.99 B1G1F and there are tearpads for $1 off produce when you buy 1 Lays.

Does anyone know which CVS carries Planters bars? The ones in Bartlett don’t carry those at all. Thanks!

So I went to the Caton Farm and 59 Jewel, with 2 $1 off coupons to get the Pretzel Crisps that were B1G1F for 3.49. Under the display, was a coupon for if you bought 2 bags of Pretzel Crisps, you got a FREE Tribe Origins Hummus!!! Very exciting, since I paid $1.49 for 2 bags of crisps AND a tub of hummus! And they are both DELICIOUS!

I tried the 2 waichi ferry kits plus tapei chicken egg rolls (handed over my 2x $1.50/1 Qs and teh Dom’s $5/$15 Q) and the register would not allow the use of the $5/15. Should I try another Dom’s? Or did I do something wrong?

It’s a little late to post probably. But in case anyone is shopping today (or for future usage of the coupon)….the apple blossoms weigh too much for the meal deal coupon. I tried to use it yesterday. They are 16 oz. and the coupon only goes to 14 oz. for the dessert.
FDeRosier says
Darn, I didn’t see that coupon! And I just bought 6 bags of those pretzels Sunday :-(
msm3535 says
I bought 2 boxes of 92 count size 6 huggies little movers and 1 box of 92 count size 6 pampers baby dry yesterday marked down to $12.64 each. I used those coupons I was going to use to get the target card on these instead. There were 6 boxes of 800+ count Pampers something-soft wipes, but a lady got there before I did and grabbed them all. Marked down to $4.84 a box. Lots of other clearance deals, if you need baby stuff. A set of 5 bibs for $.56. I don’t need bibs, but they are going in my baby-gift stash for sure!
Thanks Jill, for all you do. I truly appreciate it!

Yes, my love/hate affair with Dominick’s continues. Decided to try the one in Crystal Lake on my way (not really)home from MCC. I did score one more Frozen Food coupon book. I tried to buy the Cozy Shack rice pudding but that was a NO GO because the coupon was for SUGAR-FREE and they DO NOT sell any sugar-free Cozy Shack at CL Dominick’s. Sad face because I love that stuff.
I did get three California Pizza Kitchen Pizzas and you would have thought it was a security high alert when I tried to ring them up! Nothing but trouble for three darn pizzas! Swiped them and bagged them. Swiped my Dominick’s “fresh” values card. Swiped my $5/$15 frozen food coupon. Put it in the coupon repository. Swiped my first $1/1 CPK coupon. Put it in the coupon repository. Swiped my second $1/1 CPK coupon. Put it in the coupon repository. Swiped my third $1/1 CPK coupon. Put it in the coupon repository. Swiped my $1.25/next order coupon (from last week’s CPK deal at the Fox Lake Dominick’s!). Put it in the coupon repository. Of course, there were so many coupons already in the thing that it refused to recognize that I had put mine in. The MAN standing there did NOT have a key/swipe card to rectify any problem. So he announced that over the PA so the woman would bring back the key/swipe card. Then he voided my entire transaction because he “didn’t get it!” He opened up the machine and attempted to retrieve my coupons and then started yelling at me because he found a $3/next order coupon in there too and without even bothering to ask me if it was mine just assUmed that it was and informed me that I was only allowed “one coupon like that per order!” To which I replied, “Um…that’s NOT my coupon; mine is the $1.25 one that you saw on the screen and the receipt in your hand!”
Then I re-rang the entire order…yes, all THREE pizzas! If my son didn’t like them so much I would have just walked out. At least the second time the order went through as it should have although I still had to “blow” into the coupon repository because things just seem to get hung up in there. Now…to find another store, ANY other store besides Dominick’s to use these CATS at! LOL
