It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for this week’s grocery deals! A big welcome to our Super-Couponers from this past week’s classes in Hampshire, Sugar Grove, Aurora, and McHenry!
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. Unless otherwise noted, grocery store deals run through Wednesday of this week, and the pharmacy deals run through Saturday. And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing website for a list of FREE coupon classes and instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
Starting off at Jewel, grilling season is under way, and it’s always nice to have something free to season the things you’re grilling. (Okay, that was sappy.) Anyway, McCormick Grill Mates are .50 each through May 31. Use the .50 coupons from 4/19 RP and 5/3 RP and take these home for FREE!
Still at Jewel, Cottonelle 12-double-roll packs and 8-triple-roll packs are $4.88 with the store coupon in this week’s flyer. There’s a $1 coupon in the May All You — use it and take home lots of TP for the bargain price of $3.88! Jewel’s been issuing a good amount of $1 Cottonelle Catalinas too, so if you save all of yours, look through them and see if you’ve got more coupons. Additionally, many stores have purple cardboard coupon dispensers near the Cottonelle — these have $1 coupons too! If all else fails, you can also use the .75 coupon from 4/26 SS and take it home for $4.13.
Now, if you’ve got 2 Jewel flyers and two Cottonelle coupons, buy 2 packs at a time — you’ll get a bonus Catalina good for $1 off your next shopping trip too.
Did you print all those great Kraft coupons last week? If so, use two $1 Kraft Singles coupons stacked with two $1.49 Jewel coupons from this week’s flyer, and you’ll take that cheese home for $1 a pack!
And… how about the best barbecue sauce deal you’ll see this month? Kraft BBQ sauce is on sale for .89 a bottle, and there’s a .75 coupon in 5/3 SS and a $1 printable at Coupons Inc and Kraft too! Pick this up for free or cheap!
But don’t stop at just one bottle. If you’ve got multiple inserts (or multiple printables) you can take advantage of this sweet Catalina deal on the sauce too! Buy 4 bottles and get $2 off your next order… buy 5 and get $2.50 off, or buy 6 and get $3 off! With enough coupons, this is a moneymaker… and they’re paying YOU to take the sauce home! :)
Along with that free barbecue sauce, don’t you want even MORE free salad dressing? Kraft South Beach salad dressings are $1.67 at Jewel, and there’s a $1 store coupon for these on Avenu. Stack that with the $1.50 Kraft salad dressing coupon from 5/10 SS or this $1 printable and it’s a moneymaker! You’ll be getting either.83 or .33 in overage!
While you’re checking your Avenu, see if you have “Jewel Toasted Oats Cereal, $1 off.” If you do, use the coupon from the Thursday Jewel flyer which makes it .88 a box with coupon — and the store will pay you .12 to take it home!
Still at Jewel, I hope you printed all those $1 Kellogg’s coupons that I linked to in May 5th’s deals. Anytime we see high-value cereal coupons, they’re worth printing in anticipation of the NEXT good cereal deal… which is now here!
Buy 4 boxes of selected Kellogg’s breakfast foods (Rice Krispies, Pops, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Raisin Bran Crunch and Pop Tarts are included.) They’re priced at 4/$10, but when you buy in quantities of 4, the price dips to 4/$6! Now, all those $1 coupons will come in handy, as they’ll knock your end price down to .50 a box! Time to stock up if you like Kellogg’s!
If you like Pop-Tarts, the big boxes are included here too. With the $1 coupon from 4/5 RP, they’re $1 a box after the deal (mix and match with cereal, but buy quantities of 4.)
RedPlum also still has $1.50/2 printables for some Kellogg’s cereals if you need more coupons too.
Note that Kellogg’s cereals are also on sale at Dominick’s this week too, but most of them are cheaper at Jewel. Only one variety is a steal over there, and we’ll get to that in a moment…
If you’ve done the Jewel Preferred Card Update recently, the booklet contains a coupon for .75 off Mission Tortillas. The corn tortillas are on sale for $1, and they’ll be just .25 with the coupon!
And if you HAVEN’T done the update event, what are you waiting for? Here’s the Preferred Card update schedule for May… absolutely worth doing if you’re near any of these Jewel stores, as you get a book filled with coupons, many of which are for FREE things!
Lastly at Jewel, a special deal for those who shop at the Huntley location… Healthy Choice soups are part of the current ConAgra “Spend $20, get $5” Catalina promo at Jewel.
As my advanced couponers know, these Catalina deals often work a little differently at Jewel than everywhere else. They typically run on the regular price of a Jewel item vs. the sales price. So, we can often save even more on these deals if the spread between regular and Preferred price are wide.
Well, at the HUNTLEY Jewel only, Healthy Choice soups are on sale for .69 a can through Wednesday… but their regular price is $2.70 a can. Buying 8 cans puts you over the $20.00 shelf price, but you’ll spend just $5.52 on your 8 cans. Spend $5.52.. and get $5 back. 8 cans of soup for .52 works out to about 6.5 cents a can… with no coupons!
(NOTE: If you do the deal in this way and do not get your Catalina, for any reason, you CANNOT demand the store give you one — you will not have spent what the ad states you must spend. But, my black-belt couponers may enjoy this sale, as it’s a nice deal for soup.) Enjoy!
And if you’re nowhere near Huntley, buying 8 cans anywhere else will cost you $8, with a $5 Catalina coming back to you. Not super cheap, but still not bad — and this will likely be the last soup deal we see in some time as we’re headed into Spring/Summer.
Over at Meijer, did you notice that their MealBox printable coupons are now STACKABLE? When Mealbox first came out, you could stack these Meijer store coupons with manufacturer coupons. Then, they stopped allowing stacking… but guess what, stacking is back! It’s a great time to be a couponer, because stacking increases our savings so much…
… and this week, Kraft Miracle Whip and Kraft mayonnaise are both $2 each. Print a MealBox coupon for $.50 off, and stack that with the $1 Kraft coupons from 4/26 SS or Coupons.com and take this home for .50!
And, still at Meijer, Kraft salad dressings will be a moneymaker here too! They’re $1.67, and if you use the $1 Mealbox coupon stacked with the $1.50 Kraft salad dressing coupon from 5/10 SS or this $1 printable it’s a moneymaker! You’ll be getting either.83 or .33 in overage!
While you’re shopping Meijer, you may enjoy some free photo prints too! Print this coupon good for 20 free prints!
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday, May 20.. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store. Confusing? Yes. This is why I don’t blog too many Meijer deals… but these are good ones!
Over at Dominick’s, they’ve got another “Buy 5, save $5 instantly” sale running on a bunch of items. Buy in quantities of 5, and $5 instantly comes off your total. (If you buy 10, $10 comes of, 15, $15 off, etc.)
Betty Crocker fruit snacks are a great deal during this sale. Buy in quantities of 5, and they’re $1 a box! With coupons, they’re even cheaper:
3/8 SS – $1 off 3 or 50 off 2 (varies regionally)
2/8 GM
1/4 GM
10/5/08 GM
9/7/08 GM
8/10/08 GM
7/13/08 SS
Many Kellogg’s cereals are included in the deal too, though the Corn Flakes are your best bet here. When you buy in quantities of 5 (mix and match with fruit snacks, as all 5 boxes don’t need to be corn flakes) they’re $1 a box. With the $1 Kellogg’s coupon from 4/5 RP, they’re FREE!
Here’s the full list of included products:
And again, it’s a “Buy 5, save $5 instantly,” so all of the prices of these items will come down by a dollar each when you buy in quantities of 5. You can buy 10 and save $10, etc too in the same trip:

Remember, ALL of these prices will automatically come down by a dollar each when bought in quantities of 5.
Still at Dominick’s, if you didn’t get your cheap Oscar Mayer hot dogs at Meijer last week, you can grab them here for only slightly more. Stack the 2 for $1.99 store coupon from this week’s flyer with the $1 off 2 manufacturer coupon from 5/10 SS and get 2 packs for .99, or about .50 each.
And still at Dominick’s, DiGiorno Flatbread melts are $1.99. Print a $1.50 coupon and get these for .49! Many stores also have a blinkie dispenser on the freezer door with $1 coupons inside, and the 5/17 SS has a .75 coupon too. All in all, a cheap lunch :)
For Memorial Day, here’s a super deal on ribs too – this one DOES run through the weekend…
Over at Target, there are a few good deals going on snacks!
First, Ritz crackers and Wheat Thins are cheap at Target! This one’s a real multi-stack coupon scenario, but I think you can keep up :)
Buy 2 Boxes of Ritz Crackers $2.49 each=$4.98
Buy 2 Boxes of Wheat Thins $2.49 each=$4.98
Use 2 $1 coupons for Ritz from Target
Use 1 $1/2 Wheat Thin coupon from Target
Then use the Buy one box of Ritz crackers, get one box of Wheat Thins FREE coupon from the 5/17 SS
You’ll pay $4.47 for 4 boxes of crackers — or about $1.11 a box!
If you get multiple inserts, you can use TWO B1G1F Ritz/Wheat Thins coupons here, and you’ll bring it down even more… to $1.98 total, or about .50 per box!
Note that the Target coupons above print from Organic Grocery Deals’ coupon generator. If you watch Target’s coupons, you know that each Sunday, they post new store coupons… but the old coupons don’t expire — they’re just not linked from Target.com anymore. The coupon generator links to those “hidden” coupons so that we can still utilize them! This deal runs through 5/23.
Nabisco 100 calorie snacks are a good deal too. Many Target stores have them priced at 2.04. Print a $1 coupon and also print the $1 off from the Target coupon generator above… and you will take them home for a whopping .04 cents!
And finally… Walgreens! The deal of the week is on Right Guard deodorant! It’s on sale for $5.99 (which really, is a ridiculously expensive price for a deodorant, isn’t it?) But there’s a $5 Register Reward attached, making it .99 after the RR. Use the $1 coupon from 4/19 SS, pay $4.99 and get $5 back… making it FREE!
And if you need even more FREE toothpaste… Colgate Visible White is on sale for $4.49 with a $4.49 RR – making it free. Use the .75 coupon from 2/22 SS, pay $3.74… and get $4.49 back! They’ll pay you to take it home :)

Thanks Jill!!
Meijer pulled the $1 Mayo/Miracle Whip Mealbox coupon at some point in the last 5 days. Now it’s $1/2. You’ll pay $.50 instead of getting it free if you didn’t print the coupon before they switched it. I found that out last night…

Almost the same deal at Jewel too…
1-Ritz Crackers $2.50
2-Wheat thins BOGO at $4.19
Use $1/1 Ritz Internet Printable
BO Ritz GO Wheat thins (up to $3.49…did not realize that and cashier gave me full price off of $4.19)
$1/1 Wheat thins printable (forgot to use that one but it should work as Jewel does take q’s for free items in BOGO).
Total $6.69
-$5.49 in coupons
= $1.20 for 3 boxes of crackers-$.40/box (or if for some reason you cant use the $1/1 wheat thins your total would be $2.20 for 3 crackers or $.73/box)
ggk1127 says
At Jewel they have the store coupon for Kraft singles for 1.49, just below it they have a coupon for Oscar Mayer lunchmeat packs 7-10 oz for 2.49. But there is a printable .75 coupon for the lunchmeat and a printable coupon that has a picture of lunchmeat and cheese on it that says buy any Oscar Mayer lunchmeat and get 1.00 off Kraft cheese and the singles are listed. I forget where exactly these coupons are maybe Smartsource or one of those sites or Kraft .com. So if you use the two store coupons 1.49 singles and the 1.00 off cheese w/ lunchmeat and the 2.49 coupon for lunchmeat and the .75 coupon for the lunchmeat it comes to I think 2.23 for both!
Kathy04 says
Jill, I saw that if you buy two of the conttonell toliet paper you get a $1.00 off you next.(4.88-1.00 and 4.88-1.00( coupons ) Can you stack the other coupons if you spend 20 plus.( meaning if you buy 20 you will be able to use more than one coupon for the specials)

Has anyone done this deal at Super Target in Algonquin? It is the closest one to me but it is still a bit of a drive. If the 100 Calorie packs aren’t $2.04 at this location then I won’t make the hike over there.
Lou Lou says
I was at the Super Target yesterday in Algonquin and these were $2.04 such a good deal with the $1 IP and the $1 Target coupon. However they had very few left on the shelf! What was left was the Ritz snack ones and the Oreo bites. I already have a lot of the Ritz ones and am not an oreo person. So many you should call and see if they have restocked before you make the trip.

I got the raincheck the last time they were on sale cause its the only cereal my DS eats.

Scored big at Jewel today – (not to mention how I cleaned up at Meijer too)
18 Kelloggs cereals
10 McCormick Grillin’ marinades
2 bottles South Beach dressing
1 OM lunchmeat
2 Cream Cheese
24 ct Kraft singles
$100.28 minus q’s (63 of them) = $13.73 OOP
Still trying to work my way up to Jill’s 75 coupons in one trip :-) If Jewel would have had all the stock I needed, I would have had 76 q’s to use.
Jill, I thank you, can the pantry thanks you.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who posted this week – I had no time to figure the deals on my own this week – THANKS!~
